First off... the prices are higher than most of the other grocery stores in the area but when I walked in and grabbed a couple steaks I was being closely watched by one of the employees as if I was going to steal my dinner! Ive read other postings confirming Im not the only one to experience this. Being a police officer I think I am fairly intuitive and observant of the same man following me and watching me in the store. The women working the self checkout area always seem to cheerfully ask me if I need a paper bag for my items and then they charge you 10¢ for each bag. Last trip I had three small items in one hand. Its not like theyre a discount store but then they offer and charge you for the paper bags! All a little embarrassing. I avoid shopping here now and only go for a couple items because its close. imho
Lost my expensive prescription sun glasses there Thur 9/23. Someone must have found them and kept them, because we looked over the whole store and parking lot where my car was parked. They really are no good to anyone else.
The Big Y in Easton MA was a very pleasant experience for me. I obtained a card which allowed me to take advantage of the specials and was also pleased with the freshness of their products. Isles and shelves are clearly marked. Social distancing and Isle directions are clearly marked. The staff is friendly and helpful. If youre looking for value and a pleasant experience, youll find it there.
Wide selection including prepared foods. A friendly staff and generally well kept store.
Artbyjo touring America as fulltimervers documenting America one town at a time and marketplace. Omg they have a wonderful collection, shrimp, no chemicals added, pizza and pizza dough.
Clean, well stocked and the prices are a little higher then Market Basket. Check out staff were completely devoid of personality and never once cracked a smile or had a pleasant word.
Very good even all your help does a great job ☺️👍
Good selection and good prices but got rid of most of their registers in favor of self check out lanes, which unfortunatelt means fewer employees
Has a very nice selection of items and a nice meat counter.
Awesome meats & produce, great fresh seafood & an exceptional selection of Artisan products for the home chef!!I have no problem driving thru 2 towns to Big Y to avoid the shameful big box chain market in my town!!
This store was well designed and the sale items were worth the trip however I will not shop there again. Employees seemed very apprehensive and suspicious as my husband and I shopped. We left feeling like we were not supposed to be there. It was the most uncomfortable shopping trip I have experienced.
Recently the Easton Store took out some full service registers and expanded their self checkout. Previously I could get in and out of the store pretty quickly. Not now. Customers were lined up 4 deep at the full service registers and the disorganization of where people are supposed to line up had the self service area blocked. It was horrible. This company advertises that it is customer and employee focused, but you eliminated jobs by expanding self checkout and you ruined the shopping experience for the customer. I dont like Market Basket, but boy do they have customer service figured out. Lots of registers, all are open with a bagger and they are super friendly.
Nicely laid out store but a lot more expensive than other grocery stores like Stop and Shop and Market Basket.
Plenty of help available throughout the store. Great Deals.
Good produce, fast and easy checkout. Its always exactly what you expect.
Nice set up & supplies! Friendly staff and many shoppers. Nice sales
Lot of great items not found in normal stores.
Store is always clean, well stocked and well organized. Staff is friendly and the quality great!
Buy 1, get 2 free.
First time in a Big Y. It was well organized and very clean. Nice selection. Prices could be a little better and you have to bring your own bags or pay .10 cents each.
Customer service called down a manager due to card machine not working. Manager walked down and saw one of her friends and stop to chat while I was waiting. Poor service
Just another name for HannafordSame store layout
I love this store! The staff members are friendly and kind. Your products are very fresh! I dont live here, but I will come back every time we camp in Canoe River Campground.
Was there early this morning. Market was quiet all items well stocked and clearly marked price wise. Little problem at checkout as Im a veteran but eventually resolved. All in all a good experience. Thank you BigY. Will shop there more often.
Love big y!
I don’t go to Big Y often however I have been to a few different locations when it’s convenient. I felt welcomed in every location previously. Today, I stopped by the EASTON location to grab milk for my daughter and a few other things. I had my three children with me as well. Well, we grabbed what we needed and waited in line. As the cashier bagged things, I put them into my cart. The whole time I had my wallet open and my card in my hand in preparation to pay. After I placed the last bag in my cart, I went to turn around to pay and before I had the chance to swipe my card, COLIN THE CASHIER, said to me “you need to pay first” I told him that’s what I was doing. In no way, did it appear that I wasn’t going to pay, I had my card in my hand and did not walk away or anything before he made that comment. I was so humiliated that this man said what he said to me with such a derogatory tone in front of other customers. I have never experienced profiling of any sorts in my life and I am utter shock that this occurred in 2020 with everything going on in the world. Yes I’m young and I have three children but that is no reason to assume I would steal from a store. I am disgusted and humiliated by the way this man spoke to me and I will never shop at any Big Y location ever again!
Very very over-priced. Which I never realized until I ventured off and started trying other places. The Market Basket in WB is within 12 minutes of this place and if $100 gets you 18 items at the Big Y.... $100 would get you 40 items at MB. It’s that much of a difference. Items that are $3 in other supermarkets are $7 there.I won’t be shopping here again anytime soon.3 stars for cleanliness and variety. Everything else is bellow a 1 star.
I found some really good prices. The store was very clean.
Awesome storesuper cleanGood quality
Bakery no help, many holes in the aisles
I love the food here
Things in stock amidst this Covid-19 epidemic and has quickly become our go-to store for groceries in the area. One thing to note, which I noticed on my trip there earlier today is how they carry very specific, ethnic items that I wouldnt think theyd have at first glance. Things like Korean gojuchang or Big Y-branded spice blends that come in much larger containers than what you could get elsewhere. Small things but in the grand scheme of things, small items that make a big difference when trying to cut back on how many trips you need to make for things. The staff is friendly, the store is clean and the variety of meat and produce is great as well.
It was great good value products
I dont live very close to The Big Y, but whenever I am in Easton I always spend all my money there.
Expensive prices but good selection
Great concept and clean store. However, every employee is rude and refuses to help. Shop anywhere but here. They dont value customers.
Clean store with fresh food- committed employees- Expensive however
Friendly people and fresh foods are both strengths for this place. Its also a reasonable size so that you dont have to spend a million years trying to get the things on your list. Great checkout. Sunday afternoons are busy so beware but mornings and early afternoon are easy checkout. Friendly people which means they like working there. Bigy is family owned. Great in store bakery: a step above your average supermarket bakery. Deli - World Class meats and cheeses are excellent. In store, theyll make sushi, pizza, subs, and seafood dinners to order. All are delicious. Great meat and seafood counters too. Lots of specialty dietary items for allergies etc. as well as locally and regionally sourced items throughout the store. Great kosher food collection as well. Prices can be iffy but hands down in the silver sales, they are highly competitive. Watch for your favorite items and stock up. Try this great store.
Friendly cashier, good corn on the cob, and fresh split chicken breasts. Oops, and a fresh made lemon meringue pie.
Im not a frequent shopper at The Big Y, but the few times I do go in there almost every time I have a bad experience at the Seafood counter. If I buy fish the guy at the counter acts like Ive just ruined his day for ordering 3-4 pieces of fish. Everyone has bad days, Im not asking for slavish pandering but I dont want to be glared at for ordering more than one item. This seems to happen every time I go there. Honestly I think Im done with the Big Y, I wont bother buying food there again.
Im here everyday. The staff always pleasant, problem solving, efficient and genuinely happy to see you. Love the inspiration product line. The demonstrator Darlene always showing great new items. The store is bright and clean. Its a treat to poke at the 50 percent off table too. Love the idea of the Thanksgiving boxes to purchase and it goes to a local food Bank of your choice. Giving made easy.
Ive been stoked ever since big y came to Easton. Great produce good selection of nutrition bars along with all the normal stuff youd ask of a grocery store.
Price has always been high but I didnt mind for convenience sake as it is the closest market to our home. Now you get rid of plastic bags without a town ban. Then try and get me to buy reusable bags that no one remembers to leave in the car for shopping days. So now I need to use the paper bags that rip while loading the car in the lot.
I bought fish and chips tonight for my son and when we arrived home we found out only fries with one tiny fish.
You don’t even deserve 1 star. Ed and another white female employee harassed and followed my friend while with her 1 year old child. Because they assumed she had no money and stole strawberry’s. She bought strawberry’s from roche bro’s and carried the strawberries around as a snack for a child. She was forced to give Ed the strawberries That she did not steal, or she’s be arrested. Horrible staff he is for racially profiling her. Then when she called back to prove she had the receipts he lied about the entire encounter and hung up .
Love the selection a d quality of people and food
Very clean. Excellent fruit selection. I would recommend this location.
Awesome PIZZA takeout!Store well organized, clean and reasonably priced
I was at Target didnt find nothing
The store is clean and laid out well. You can find some great deals here with the Big Y card (free). This is my go-to store.
Seems that Big Y always has nicer produce than the Shaws down the street. Their floral section is fabulous and they have a great natural foods area.
Rude employee!!! With all this Covid, I feel best checking out my own groceries to limit the number of people touching them. When I went to check out at 7:30pm, with no lines and very few people in the store, I was told by an extremely rude employee 8 times that I was not allowed to do self check out. I think that 1-2 times would have been proper but instead she decided to treat my like a child by stating it 8 times right in my face. Not only was she rude but way too close to me based on social distancing guidelines. As a two year, exclusive Easton Big Y shopper, I have decided to go to Shaw’s instead. I will feed my family of 6 at Shaw’s. Say goodbye to the $400-$500 (and sometimes more) I spend each week Easton Big Y.
I actually really enjoy this store. Unfortunately they are merging with a company and soon they will be called The Big Y or why. I really hope they dont change the way the store is set up because that is one of the reasons why I love it so much. It is warm and inviting in there. The aisles are big, not a whole lot of walking but plenty of room, everything is labeled and not confusing, the workers are great to talk to and very knowledgeable, and many other things. Oh yes and their prices are the best.
Great as always great selection and pricing wonderful staff. #move to Norton
Great variety of bakery, produce, meat, and other goods. Local stuff is good too. It is clean and always well stocked. My big issue...prices. I regularly find things that are 50 cents to a dollar more expensive here than other grocery stores. We shop there mainly because of the convenience, but we wouldnt go out of the way for it.
Very good service, prices bit higher but you can find great deli and pizza,
You have a manager there named Patrice, I believe. She is one of a kind. Your super market is a better place because of her. She is phenomenal to the customers and her interactions with staff seem like she would be a great boss to have. Good job Big Y for employing people like her!
Great meat section
Good store
Solid supermarket. All the basics are in stock at all times, and they rotate out some of the more interesting produce seasonally. Good selection of alternative foods (dairy free, gluten free, etc).
One of the only grocery stores in my area with jerk sauce if there are any Caribbean people in the area. Prefer it over the other groceries stores closer to me because the meat selection is great as well. Used to sell Bruces Yams. I miss that.
Great meat selection. Very clean. And very accessible in Easton,. Plen6of parking. Some things are pricey, however. Quality and service good up till now.
I love the big y, its always very clean, and the shelves are constantly being restocked! All of the staff is friendly and very helpful! One of my favorite parts of big y is the prepared food. Its always so delicious and fresh!
Fish is fresh! Produce is usually fresh, limited selection of items. A lot of their Big Y brand, I dont care for their store brand. Mismarked prices or no prices on many items. C/S is good.
Used to love this place. They are slowly getting rid of their healthy food options. So disappointing.
I was tired thought Id run in grab a few things for dinner and bounce out. Bad decision. Ti get the prices listed you need to sign up for a Big y card. No bags are offered you need to buy them. The self service people were to busy chatting to see I needed assistance when the food rang up incorrectly. Then began the story well lets go to the service desk and sign you up to get that price. I replied no thanks. Oh it will be just a minute. No really Im not interested. But you can save so much. Nevermind just take those items off. Id been up since 3 am I just wanted to go home. But eith this card you can save everyday. No thank you. So yo want me to void the order? Yes please. Oh hold on I dont have a key for that I forgot me card ar home. Nevermind keep it all Im leaving Ill go somewhere elseNEVER AGAIN!
Beautiful but wow it was pricy. Still nice and friendly grocery. Bummer on needing to sign up for a card for the discounts.
Love this store !!! Get great savings with discount card. First time there Abd was amazed !! Think Ive made this my go to grocery store !!
Great place for your groceries, bakery or to go dinner! It also has soup, salad, and to go sandwiches! Its like combining stop and shop and whole foods in one place. Its my local to go place on weekdays at its by my work 😊
Great fresh groceries.. Employees were courteous and fast.. Great experience.. Good prices as well for the most part.
Needed to place a special order and needed it for a short turn around. They were able to accommodate me and with a smile. Just earned a new customer.
This store recently stopped using plastic bags and I LOVE this. They always have a fresh selection and decent prices as well.
I still use the pharmacy, wonderful caring people but the grocery store has lost our business.Prices have soared and quality has diminished since Big Y took over. We now travel 6 miles to Market Basket for our grocery needs. Real shame!!
Local shopper since it opened. Workers there are wonderful and so friendly. The layout is so easy to remember. Sadden to hear that they will be changing to the big y and changing the layout. Hannafords will truly be missed.
I love big y! I was told for years to shop here and always went more local until they changed hannafords in Easton to a Big Y! Its the only grocery store I feel comfortable shopping at. Everything is easy to find, the store is very clean, and the staff is friendly and always restocking the shelves! I truly enjoy the prepared foods too!
Its a relatively new giant grocery store. In the spectrum of what grocery stores have stocked, they are closer to the top. I like buying everything I want at the same location and overall I am pleased. Blanket statements like too expensive are not accurate to me. Purchasing groceries for 6 months exclusively there and comparing the total to my previous store - the margin is too small to compare. Chicken costs more than Trader Joes, but I cant get bulk price TP from Joes. It all evens out in my opinion, so I chose not to drive 20 miles one way for a chicken breast. Customer service? Fine so far, but we should all understand how giant stores hire a giant variety of people, your experience one day with one employee probably shouldnt affect your relationship to the magnitude of never returning. Big Y, thanks for having so much stuff, I like you!
Very cool shopping experience! Love the prices! I recommend this place!
While the store is clean, well-stocked, and well-staffed, it manages both lower quality and higher prices than what they replaced. The store is oddly organized, and they removed most of the wonderful produce section to put in a pizza kitchen. Many locals miss Hannaford.
The prices and selection are good, but don’t bother going here if you aren’t a middle aged man or women with kids. I’ve been treated like I’m ready to steal something anytime I use the self checkout and get followed around the store by random workers. I got the same women yelling at me to remember to pay for the bags and that I wouldn’t get the sale prices since I didn’t have a card (I do have a card btw). Just a gross experience overall. I like that they have a bulk kumbacha bottle, but honestly I might not come back here again unless my Mom can come with me. (I am 24 so honestly this is ridiculous to require) Disappointing!
Good clean store, the prices are a little higher than competition. The service was very good too.
Decent supermarket but my mom and I paused to read the signs and the worker came barreling through with a motorized pallet lift and beeped at us to move out of the way. We were only pausing briefly AND WHO BEEPS AT CUSTOMERS??
I like the layout of the store. Clean, wide aisles. Friendly staff and good customer service. Reasonable prices of products.
The quality of the products is excellent! The meat from the Butcher shop is outstanding!! The associates are always helpful and friendly.
Went in for a couple of sales items that didnt ring properly. Spoke with a manager who very nicely handled it. Nice place, bit I will keep an eye out for mistakes when checking out. Regularly do that anyway.
Prices here are nuts and the food quality is meh.
I will only buy a few things there that I can not get anywhere else because they are very very expressive unless you get a BOGO or 2.
I didnt have a store card for a few of their sale items. Patrice fron Customer Service hooked me up fast!! Friendly people work here. Too bad I didnt live closer
The Easton property is still trying to better itself after taking over when it was Hannaford. Coming along well, although you have to keep checking for quality and spoilage. My wife refuses to purchase milk, cozy shack pudding, and a couple other dairy items because of spoilage. Could be from transporting, rotating or improper standby before shelving.Either way we still shop here because its clean, spacious plenty of parking. People are friendly. 💯🇺🇸🏨
I had to get a money order one day I wasnt a Big Y member which Is a pet pieve to me why cant I just go into a store and shop and get same reduced prices...anyhow because I wasnt a BIG Y MEMBER. I wasnt entitled to get a money order there that was the last time I shopped at Big Y.
Big Y is where I head when visiting East Longmeadow for items I cant find at my local Stores in the south shore. Great selection. Plenty of staff.
Great clean well arranged store. Good sales but get a store card!!!!
Clean. Fresh food. Produce section really good.
Greg in the deli is the best. Always helpful and will take very good care of you.
I went to the Big Y today usually i go to Shaws for my cold cuts . but today i decided to try the deli department for the 1st. Time like i said i always purchase my cold cuts drom Shaws...But today i had the best experience from a very polite and attentive young woman from Haiti .her name was kiatia ( not sure how to spell her name ) which changed my mind for ever from purchasing at Shaws. I want to say Thank You for such a good experience. Sincerely. Denise Shields Lucente.
I prefer Big Y to any other because their vast selection of gourmet foods and gluten free fare. They are the only place Ive found that has Goji Berry powder.
