My husband and I took a Volvo for a test drive at Gengras recently, and really liked the fact that we didnt feel any pressure from the sales team. We loved the car but wanted to think about it. Several days later we were contacted by our salesman - Joe Dulka, and later the general sales manager Allen Fiergola. We were interested in the CARE by Volvo program - and they did the legwork for us even though we could have contacted Volvo directly. Short story - we walked in and picked up our new XC 40 - the same vehicle we drove and fell in love with on the test drive - 5 days later! We could not be happier with our experience with Joe and Allen and their willingness to accommodate us - and their awesome team! Joe has followed up with us several times to make sure we are happy and answer questions - and to make sure we still love the car. I always hated the car buying experience - pushy car salespeople, constantly being nagged about when I would make a decision, and being ignored while the salesperson would only talk to my husband assuming he was making the decision on my car. I can say that going into Gengras that is exactly what I was expecting, especially after having similar experiences at 3 other dealerships, but Gengras was different. We worked with Joe and he understood that it was my car, not my husbands, so he did not defer all of his questions and gear the conversation to him... he spoke to both of us and listened to what I wanted out of my daily use car. My opinion was what mattered and he was great with that. He was also great about answering all of the questions that we had (and there were a lot).There was no pressure and when we had initially walked away from the car, he did not sit there and try to talk us into buying it. I could have given a zero star, if I can. My experience was horrible. I went to their office around 6:45 pm given they were open until 8 pm. The receptionist behaved as if I was invisible. After waiting for about 10 minutes when they started attending to someone else that came after I did, that gentleman was sensible enough to point to them that I was there before he came in. Then the receptionist wanted to know what I was there for. I told her that I was looking to test drive XC60. She wanted me to wait. I did so and about 20 minutes after that someone from their office came over only to tell me that their last appointment was at 6 pm. Did I have to wait for 20 minutes only to know that? Seriously??

I made a visit to Volvo as I am in the market for a new car. I was so overwhelmed seeing so many different cars I had no idea where to begin. I was so lucky to have met with Adam. We were driving through Connecticut from Pennsylvania to Maine and the tire pressure lights came on. We found Gengras Volvo and Christopher quickly got us in on a Saturday morning, checked the tires, rebalanced the pressure and we were back on the road in 20 minutes! Great service!

I had an unfavorable experience with this dealership. There was 2014 Audi Q5 in metallic gray that I was interested in. I had test driven the car, applied and all was smooth sailing up until I realized that they would not even offer a 30 day limited warranty on the purchase and they wanted me to pick the vehicle up pretty much immediately. This raised a red flag for me. This prompted me to take another look at the photos and inquire about any issues that may have been corrected prior to the vehicle being listed. The Sales Rep advised me that he had taken the trade and that all was well. When I consulted with his manager regarding the topic, however, he advised that there was an issue with the Mass Air Flow Sensor that had already been addressed. With that, I cancelled the sales contract and opted to have a certified mechanic go with me to take another look at the vehicle before moving forward with the purchase. When the mechanic arrived, the car was running and there was no check engine light on, however, when he ran a diagnostic scan, he found that 9 codes had been erased by whomever serviced the vehicle last and that there was in fact 9 outstanding issues with the vehicle. When the Sales Rep was asked about this he denied having any knowledge of the outstanding issues and advised that he would follow up with service. By how rushed and pushy the purchase process was and the way that they were recommending that I purchaseMy own warranty for this vehicle I am under the assumption that all parties were well aware of the issues with the vehicle. When purchasing here do your due diligence and have an expert give you a second opinion. I could have been out a lot of time, effort and money.

Beginning of June I had my car for a regular service and service was great. Yesterday I brought my car for service with a very unusual problem. My sunroof was making gurgling noise during driving at certain speed in a rain. Being in the car business myself I know how difficult can be to fix anything that happens only in certain conditions but they acknowledge my issue and found solution how to fix it. We recently purchased a 2015.5 Volvo XC70. Was put into contact with Sales Exec William Damberg and had a excellent experience. Working with Will & Genrags Volvo was one of the easiest car purchasing processes. They gave a fair KBB value for my trade (with out being seen), advised what the purchase price was for the car and sale was complete. We are located over 1.5 hours away from Gengras, most information was completed online. Was in the dealership for less than an hour once we arrived. Will be a return customer for sure!

Very disappointed. I did my research, looked up the the price people were paying on consumer reports and true car, and figured out my trade-in value on Kelly blue book. The salesman was rude and refused to negotiate. He wouldnt even offer me the price posted on their website for the specific vehicle. Also he wouldnt offer more than the kbb.com fair value, even though my trade-in is in pristine shape. Just a very painful experience. He didnt even counter after I suggested $1,500 below their price. He shut down negotiations like a spoiled child, and then he left me a voice mail after I left, but if this are the tactics Gengras takes to negotiate, I will never work with them again.

Very welcoming environment and found sales and financing not pushy at all. Really enjoyed working with Adam Whitford . He was very knowledgeable and fun to deal with. My wife and I are still in the deciding process, but if we decide to go with a Volvo, Gengras will be the dealership and Adam will absolutely be our go to guy.

He was not pushy, was very detailed in his explanations and worked hard to make sure we were staying in our budget. He even offered to go get us a pre-owned Volvo from their other location right away so we could see it and make the best decision! Where do I begin? From the moment I walked into the Volvo dealer in East Hartford, I was instantly met with a smile and an attentive and helpful staff member. While I was still digesting the greeting, I was introduced to Jola. Jola was and is a breath of fresh air as Sales Person. No pressure environment. She was upbeat, engaged, and made the entire process a delight. I was looking to purchase a V90 CC. Just as I thought I couldn’t be any more impressed, I see a pretty significant scratch on the rear bumper during the walk around and tell Jola about it. Jola introduces me to Jason, who simply sees it and says, “Oh, I’ll send that out to get fixed and have it back before you’re ready to take delivery”. I’m sorry, WHAT?! No fuss. No fight. No threat of walking away? Just done and done. Call me an amateur, but I almost fell out. Most amazing car experience hands down. Not to mention the two service appointments I’ve had thus far(installation of Polestar upgrade and Scuff Plates) which have been nothing short of efficient and has saved me money. Sold on Volvo simply because of this dealership.

I purchased my new 2015 S60 Volvo from Gengras Volvo in East Hartford, CT a few years back and have my service performed by them.I find their customer service dept. outstanding especially “my “ service advisor Peter Busher. Peter always explains in detail that work to be performed, if anything is found, he explains the issue and offers options, suggestions. I’m very interested in knowing about my car, and when I have asked, we have also looked under the hood together and I have been briefed, at my request.Most recently, I had a situation were I lost my key. I was at a loss at what to do, since my spare key was not nearby. He suggested calling Volvo roadside service to have my car towed to the dealership in order to have a new key fob made. I decided that this was the best option for me.Due to covid, the towing company couldn’t give me a ride to the dealership, but Peter arranged someone to pick me up...on a very cold afternoon. Now, that’s great customer service. I appreciate all of Gengras Volvo Customer Service team. Thank you Peter👏👏

Got an email confirmation from their dealership about a price on a Volvo. We have the email and the price their associate confirmed with us. Get down to the dealership (FAR drive) and get to the paperwork only to find out they did a bait n switch by jumping the price up $1,000s more!No integrity, their email will be sent to the state for review of non compliance as they refused to honor their own email price with us.UPDATE: To Chris James, check your emails w/ me nothing hidden, its all there for you to read and understand your dealerships confirmation to sell me the Volvo at the agreed to price.

I have had a Volvo since 2018, which we leased in MA. When we moved to CT, we started using Gengras Volvo for service. It was time to turn in our lease, and I had my eye on a new XC90. I worked with Adam Whitford, who was a pleasure to work with. He had a detailed list of questions designed to get me into the perfect car, and he and the sales manager worked extra hard to get me into an XC90 in the right configuration and my preferred color. He made everything easy, was super responsive to calls and emails, and went out of his way to follow up on his day off to make sure everything went smoothly on the delivery day.Gengras Volvo’s dealership has undergone extensive renovations, and they have a spacious, clean waiting area with friendly staff, snacks and drinks. They take Covid precautions seriously, with all the sales staff wearing masks, hand sanitizer, and signs encouraging social distancing in the waiting areas.

I was in the market for a 2021 Volvo XC40 T5 inscription and was greatly disappointed with NY dealership pricing and selections. I began to look into Connecticut and found Gengras. I was IMPRESSED with their pricing and selections!! I had no idea I would continue to be IMPRESSED with their service.I found my car on Gengras website and proceeded with my purchase. I never had to visit the dealership until it was the date to pick up my vehicle. My search started on Saturday, they were close on Sunday, and I finalized my papers and insurance info on Monday via emails and fax. I picked up my brand new vehicle, XC40 white exterior and Brown leather interior, on Tuesday. IMPRESSIVE!!I will be a Gengras customer for life!!
