It may be above average in prices, & the selection may not be as broad as other grocery stores, but their customer service was INCREDIBLE!!! I swung by here to buy some flowers for my girlfriend, on a Sunday night, & I received such great service!Andy, working the cash register, asked me if I needed any help & assistance. After I chose some flowers, which didn’t look too great, he had Ashley help me; Ashley, is the florist & was working in the bakery to help out. They were both so helpful!! After a week, my flowers still look great!! Thank you so much guys!!!

When I went to this Fresh Market, I was in for the best surprise ever. I was searching for pasta, and I had some difficulty finding it. I was approached by a kind young man working here, and he asked me if I was finding everything OK. I told him what I was looking for, and he helped me find it and asked if I needed anything else. I didnt, but I had a lovely conversation with your worker. His name was Evan, and I will definitely be coming back to your establishment! Great experience with butcher and florist and deli and checkout. Everything except the bakery - consistently wait for 10 or more minutes; no one is ever there unless I call or go to another department. Otherwise great service and selection.

Honestly one of nicest grocery stores Ive visited. Its a clean comfortable setting. Every shelf is pristine and appeared to be fully stocked. It may sound strange to be so impressed with a grocery store....but visit yourself if you get the chance.

Love the atmosphere, all of the staff are helpful, & they have the most variety of everything. My fav so far are their very own made cinnamon rolls...gotta have em! 😊

It wasn’t a bad experience. This is a clean and organized store, and the employees were very friendly and helpful.At previous Fresh Markets I’ve found more novelty holiday gifts and treats. I came looking for Mother’s Day products and didn’t find much more other than typical days.On this visit, I did also find that sesame sticks were out of stock.

Great place for healthy fresh food and drinks. You pay more for the good stuff. So expect to pay a little more. Fresh salad was delicious and tasty. The teriyaki wings were also great.

Apparently I eat a lot. Was placing my dinner order at the pre made counter and I kept having to say I wasn’t finished. People come here to buy food yes? Not be shamed in how much they buy.

Felt as if I was at Foodlion because of the service in the bakery. Never asked if I wanted anything nor did anyone come to the counter. Yes, someone was in the back purposely avoiding eye contact. Three stars because the cashier was friendly and the chicken salad was good.

Great spot for quality affordable takeout meals. We like their cherry pie and selection of other products. I prefer this store to any Whole Foods in the area.

They live up to their title of Fresh, but yes it is more expensive to get the quality. I was a bit frustrated that I bought some salads that did not come with dressing and I didnt notice until I opened it at work and had to eat dry salad for lunch. On my next visit when I asked why, they pointed to having to buy little containers off to the side. It makes absolutely no sense to me to pay $7-8 for a salad and some do/do not have dressing. The meat department was condescending when I asked about getting a larger slab of lamb as they kept telling me I must want beef. Hello, beef is not the only meat you can tie and roast like a crown! The other departments have always been kind and gone out of their way to be super helpful, especially the bakery.

We have used the Fresh Market to cater my companies client socials and everything is awesome!Recently we needed a turkey for a last minute staff Friendsgiving. Everyone was out of them and couldnt get a turkey to us until the week of Thanksgiving. I spoke to the manager and accommodated our last minute request. The turkey was cooked to perfection so moist and juicy it was hot when I got it.The staff is very professional & they definitely exceeding our expectations. We will be using The Fresh Market for our future events!Thank you :-)

Full disclosure, I used to help manage a Fresh Market location before switching careers, so I’m probably more critical than most customers.The deli department is excellent here, the deli manager (I believe, I sadly didn’t get her name yesterday) made some take and bake Brie’s for me ahead of time which was really sweet and she didn’t have to offer. They were ready when I came to pick up and the other employee there knew when I’d come to pick up. Very smooth. All of the employees at the deli are always friendly and offer to help pretty much immediately, but this experience got me to leave a review! Be sure to order thanksgiving/holiday meals ahead of time, they do get slammed on those big days.To management, take care of your good deli employees! Everything is always super clean and I have a great experience. Front end is always friendly as well. I don’t really shop for other items so I can’t speak for the rest of the store, but these two depts nail it from a customer perspective.

Great deals each week in the deli and meat counter. $5 sushi Wednesday! Delicious rotisserie chickens for $5 on Thursday and family meals for $12 on Sunday. They have produce I have never heard of before. Bulk snacks and nuts are a favorite! Sometimes things are sold out because they are truly a fresh market.

This store is always so clean. The people that work there are so nice and helpful.

Fresh Market is a relaxing place to grocery shop even though it it is more expensive. With that, you can get items there not found elsewhere and their meat department knows no equal by far. Thanks guys and their employees are friendly and helpful.

This store is so beautiful, soothing and calming. Lots to explore in the aisles, unique and high quality merchandise from top to bottom. It is always clean and well organized and everything is clearly labeled, no need for quess work here. The floral section has so much to offer...including orchids. Im so glad I live nearby and can easily shop here whenever I want to or oder through Instacart.

Great variety. Really nice staff. And the only place to get fresh harvested Hatch green chile from New Mexico. Carlos was amazing and so patient, and he realized how important this chile is to me. It seemed a little harder to get this year, but he kept trying and I was thrilled to bring home a box of my hot Hatch chile.

This is not so much a review of the store or Fresh Market but the delivery service, Instacart. However, since Fresh Market has partnered with this service, it ultimately falls on them. Anyway, first time ordering. Ordered 12 items, missing one and other is completely wrong from this location. Took it up with Instacart but only options are credit (why would I do that we can enter a continuous cycle of screwing up my orders?) or refund. There is a pandemic, trying to stay home but now I have to go to the store anyway. However, I will not complete my shopping at Fresh Market for spite. Tried to call the store to complain, but can’t get the manager, so now I just have to do this in a public forum. Btw, first thing the message says when you call is if you had a problem with an online order to call Instacart. Probably indicative of how often customers are calling for that.

This place could be a nice place to shopping because of the good selection of products. HOWEVER, lack of costumer service and training is very clear among the staff. You expecting a friendly environment when you are buying food specially if you are paying higher prices for it. I personally used to shopping in this place at least twice a week and now I try to stay away because of the terrible costumer service and unfriendly environment.Advice: put the bad face staff to work in be back and push the friendly people to the front of your store. You will have a much better outcome!

Ive shopped here off and on for about 20 years. Everything is top of the line. Store is extremely clean. Theres always fresh coffee that rotates the stores own brand. They have everything from plants and cards to wonderful varieties of fish and a smorgasbord of meat. You will pay a few pennies more here, but the difference in quality is well worth it. There are clean restrooms and soft music. I hate going to grocery stores, but not this one!Connie

Great market. Been goin to Fresh Market locations for years. Best breads in state. Great deserts too. Only problem is a bit pricey. They have good veggies, bulk candy and meats. Highly recommend.

I love Fresh Market. Your organic, natural type of grocery store. They have a bakery section. Most items taste so fresh. One time I wanted to surprise my coworkers with muffins. Not at this location but to the one in Roanoke, VA I placed an order 2 days ahead and was able to get the muffins I wanted. They were excited. Thats when i discovered you can place orders ahead of time even for cooked food ahead of time.Back to this location, customer service is welcoming. A produce guy saw I had what he called a bad banana in my had and refused to let me to take it. I told him to me it just looked brown and I was going to get it home and make a smoothie. He said Maam you go shop, Im going in the back and find you some decent looking bananas. Sure enough he found with some great looking bananas.Thank you Durham location for going above and beyond. By the way, they have an awesome vitamin section.

Loved the sales and the store smelled amazing with all the flowers! The cashiers cashiers were very nice, too. However, the deli had food on the hot bar that looked burned it was so dry, the ladies seemed disinterested in their job altogether and when I asked about the pizza deal she started talking to her coworker about how I actually had to ask about it...

Very bad customer service experience with a MANAGER.. Jorge. He was very rude and talked to me disrespectful. As a customer I recommend other customers to spend their money elsewhere!!! You definitely do not talk to people disrespectful while working in Customer service. Jorge needs some more training. I will be complaining about this until the issue is resolved.

Love this place. It isnt cheap by any means, but I have never been disappointed with anything I have purchased. Its a good place to go to treat yourself. Their salads are great, and so are the spices and and fresh food/dessert counters. Best quality produce in the area. Nice array of spices.The only reasons for 4 stars instead of 5:They do need more cashiers and I do agree that they need to do something about their signage for sale items. Why are the items on sale not ringing up as such?Today, there was a sign by the salads: Deluxe Chicken Caesar Salad - $5.99 Theyre normally $7.99 and I never see the salads on sale. (They only have one type of chicken caesar salad, mind you.) Go to checkout and it rings full price. The younger lady checking me out said: Oh this must have been in the wrong place...It wasnt. She corrected the price but didnt seem overly excited to be there.

This place is a dream. All of my taste buds gather together and rejoice when I walk in the door. The fruit is heaven sent, the service is impeccable, the meat is never brown and the desserts are so rich that eating one makes you feel like a million bucks. Trust me, Im not exaggerating. You havent grocery shopped until youve come here.

This is the only grocery store I enjoy shopping at. I don’t dread walking in but look forward to the textures, sounds and smells. Also the managers and staff are always so nice. When I pull into the parking lot of any other store I have to force myself to go inside as it is always such a chore. The Fresh Market is a treat!!! Many items are comparable with other grocery stores and some infact less expensive. The items that are more costly are definitely worth the extra expense.

Love the meat and produce sections. The weekly meal deals are wonderful especially the Salmon with zucchini packets. Though, check expiration dates for items in dairy section.

I like Fresh Market for a lot of things, but it is not a store in which you can really do full grocery shopping and it is way overpriced on some products. So, I still go here but as more of a niche store. They do have a nice prepared foods section, produce is generally very nice but expensive, good meat counter, and nice baked goods. Service always seems underwhelming yo me given prices and behind Harris Teeter across street.

Always a delightful place to visit for special items. They also have the best seafood, poultry, pork, and meat selections in Durham. My favorite coffee is their New Orleans French Roast. Super friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, right down to the lighting!

A grocery store is only as good as its produce section, and produce is where this place shines. The butcher counter and deli counter are also pretty expansive and carry high end products. The rest of the store suffers a bit from lack of variety and space, but everything they do have is good quality.

The store looks amazing and they offer a large variety of great produce. The issue is some of their products are not the best quality especially for the price you are paying. Their deli is amazing though and the fresh cuts of meat look delicious.

I am blown away by the incredible service that I have expierneced at Fresh Market, especially from Ashley in the bakery. I have called Ashley several times for last minute birthday cakes and she is always happy to help. I really appreciate her positive attitude. Every cake that I have ordered from her has been delicious and it looks amazing.

I go here for my fruits and veggies mostly. I love this store. I feel healthy soon as I walk in! The staff is always so helpful and kind. The store is immaculately clean and well stocked. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the checkout staff. They are always nice but always seem irritated at the lack of help and tend to express it out loud to the customers in a grumble fashion. I dont blame them as every time Ive been there is always a line at check out and only 1 cashier. But that doesnt stop me from visiting this store because Im there for the great food they offer.

A man that worked in the prepared foods section that wear hairnets and aprons decided to follow me from fresh market all the way into the dollar store and ask for my number. high priced food and creepy employees. sheesh.

Are not that fresh and very over pricedDifferent between organic and regular vegetables one is grown without fertilizer and one is. So why pay more for vegetables when you can wash away the fertilizer before eating or cooking

Its not cheap, but they have a lot of stuff that places like Target dont. Staff is friendly and store is always clean. The have a machine that makes penut butter its crazy. There is also a section for supplements where they have a tablet so you can research the effects of a supplement you might be interested in. theyre deli counter always has good food out. But by far my favorite thing about this store are the $20 meals.Located near the entrance they change often but you pick ingredients for a nice dinner or lunch which is laid out for you. We had chicken fajitas which would have cost over $30 if I bought all the ingredients separately, but together they were discounted by $12 to come the $20 bundle price.

Great store! I get all of my exotic fish here, along with my ceaser salad kit! I also get my Blenheim Ginger Ale here as well! Better than Whole Foods because this store has the same products, produce, meats, and everything else for a better price! Great store!
