Customer service not really good here. I would rather buy all my perfumes at PERFUME WORLD store in Southpoint mall. Their knowledge and customer service is excellent. They have high end, Perfumes from DUBAI, BOND NO 9, CREED, BACARRATE ETC.
First class service from the moment I walked through the front door. Young man asked if he could help me and when I told him I was looking for FAB cream he took me right to it. Another young lady opened a second register to check me out quickly. Great customer service and great attitudes! Ill be back!
Looking for a new makeup. The young lady was super helpful. Got just what I needed in a quick few minutes
Left the store without getting what I needed due to lack of respect from the sales associate that was “helping” me. The lady was talking to me like I was 5 years old so I left. Going to stick to online shopping.
100% my favorite Sephora store in the triangle. Always super well stocked and the staff is super friendly. Shoutout to Landon who helped me this past visit find the correct shade in a new foundation! As someone who doesnt wear a lot of makeup, he was very helpful! :)
My favorite spot for all things cosmetic! This site manages to hire the friendliest and knowledgeable cosmeticians.
Lots to choose from, friendly staff and pretty inside. Only drawback is if you have a sensitive nose its strong with all the perfume so definitely be aware or wear a mask.
Tall rude guy at the entrance of store was very rude I will go to crab tree from now on I hope I never have to see him again. Awful experience
Please stop discrinating against people with disabilities. You just lost my business.
Very well kept and organized store. They had a good selection of items and I was able make my purchase safely and quickly. The Staff was friendly and using proper safety precautions.
Nice and very helpful workers..
I work here and we make sure that everything stays neat and sanitized properly. We have alcohol and hand sanitizer out for everyone to use and we do not allow people to touch testers without asking for assistance from an Advisor. We do our best to maintain the 6 feet distance and masks are required from everyone within the store.
Went here to return a gift I got and the lady at the counter was 1) first super distracted talking to her coworker and 2) was super unhelpful. I’ve been a rouge member for years now and I have gone to the store to exchange gifts or get a store credit without a receipt and I can just get another product and this lady literally just shot me down saying that their system doesn’t do it and told me I have to call customer service. I have never experienced that going to a store and even when I’ve been to other stores and the person at the register couldn’t help me they would just call the manager. To be honest I feel like she just judged me because I was wearing sweats and a T-shirt and I wasn’t dressed like “someone that shops at Sephora” but little does she know how much money I spend at Sephora and I won’t ever return to this store because she just wasn’t helpful whatsoever.I suggest teaching your cashiers better customer service.
Great store. Friendly staff. Lots of products to choose from. Will definitely shop again.
Helpful staff with good suggestions based on your skin type and needs. My daughter had specific skin issues that needed good make up advise on and the consultant did a good job helping!!
Went into store to do an online return (the product I purchased was not available in stores so I had to get it in stores), a new rep was helping me, but on the side there was another rep telling the new rep what to do and keeps on giving me a condescending attitude, as if me returning what I didnt like is a crime. She then proceeded to tell me that these will have to put on a gift card and thats final. I was fuming and told her I paid with my credit card why should I take a gift card? I just received my items a day prior to returning, tested some out and didnt like them, and I kept a majority of my order. If you do not want people to return why dont you just say that in your return policy? Then the new rep went and got the manager and she took care of the issue for me, but I have not made a purchase at Sephora since that incidence (2 stars for business taken care of, or else 0 start for the haughty rep, btw I am a rouge member). I will be taking my money elsewhere.
I want to love sephora so badly since they have makeup that ulta doesn’t. But sadly every time I go in I’m treated badly by the workers, they treat me like a child and don’t like me touching anything. Yes, I am only 17 but I’m still a paying customer and don’t deserve to be treated like a child messing up the store. I usually don’t ask for help from employees but I sadly asked the one that offered to help me and she rolled her eyes and was no help at all.
Rude employees for no reason
There was a lot of help there today. Everyone was nice.
Always friendly and helpful. This location still does not carry many of the high end luxury brands such as Pat McGrath, Armani, etc.
Good news is that theyre open. Bad news is Corona Virus limits the experience. My favorite thing to do at Sephora is sample new fragrances. Couldnt really do any of that due to the limitations. Cant wait til things get back to a normal state.
They had what I was looking for and very helpful.
Sephora is always good this one was exceptional the staff was very friendly
Chelsea always greets me with a hug and knows what I like. Shes quick to point out new items that I might be interested in but shes never pushy. Shes a delight!!
The associates’ foundation match has never been accurate for me
Im a major makeup newbie so I always feel self conscious when shopping around beauty stores. Ive often felt patronized or judged when at other stores. That definitely wasnt the case here. I came in today looking for color matching for some foundation and Iran, the woman who helped me, was amazing. She was patient, listened to my concerns and told me the pros and cons of various products. I was so impressed with her professionalism, especially since she was the only staff member in the store at the time. I never felt rushed at all. Thank you, Iran!
You can try pretty much all the products! It is so fun, even if you trying to pass time. Great staff too!
If I could give ZERO stars I would !! Customer service was TERRIBLE. The ladies were assuming we were swatching makeup even though all we were doing was looking. 5 different ladies followed us around the store and watched us the whole time. I felt so uncomfortable I put all the of items I planned to buy back! I will NEVER shop here again and I’ll make sure to tell everyone I know to NOT buy from Sephora. So disappointed!
Not too knowledgeable staff but nonetheless a decent sephora location. Best to visit here if you already know what youre looking for.
The best makeup store in the world
Im one of those people that only feels compelled to write a review whenever Ive had an absolutely awful experience or whenever the experience has beyond exceeded my expectations - this is certainly the latter.Even though Im a 23-year-old college grad, Im essentially a make-up novice. Make-up stores have always intimidated me with their overwhelming abundance of options and steep prices, but today, I decided to splurge a bit for the first time and go to Sephora. I didnt have an appointment (although I recommend making one if you are going to need a lot of help), but Jennifer just happened to be available and I honestly dont know what I would have done without her.My experience was as quick and painless as it possibly could have been. Jennifer gave me the most bang for my buck by helping me find high quality items that met my particular needs and were within my budget. She was incredibly patient, answered my every question, and was very genuine. She helped me find the right colors and shades for my skin tone and gave me options to choose from - I never felt pressured to buy any particular item. I felt like she truly went out of her way to help me because she wanted to. Absolutely awesome customer service.I dont know if you read these, but if you do, I want you to know that I very much appreciated your help! You put my anxiety to rest and I walked out very happy with my purchases. Cant wait to play with them on my face later tonight :)
Me and my mom walked into the store and immediately the staff was rude to me when I asked a question . Then a friendly staff member asked me if needed help and she guided me to where I needed to go, really beautiful and nice lady, Kashana I Hope I didn’t spell her name wrong .Then, when I went to the moisturizer section, this lady was doing makeup and pushed my mom and gave us a evil look at my mom .Then as we are checking out she gave us a mean look on her face staring at us, and even the cashier was rude to my mom and I as well, with a burgundy wig and she was tall too .This is exactly why I don’t shop at this location nor Crabtree as well .
Went in about 1 week ago looking for wedding makeup for my wife. our consultant Aline was the best! Seriously if youre going into this Sephora, she is the one you want to see.Actually knows what she is taking about and doesnt look clownish like the rest of the gang at this location.Wife got the look she wanted and was extremely happy. The store itself is big and open, so you feel at ease. A little dirty but still comfortable.
Normally have a decent experience here, but today the woman I interacted with was beyond rude. I tried getting her attention for a few minutes before I finally just had to ask her for a sample. She acted so bothered and offended that I would even ask for help and didn’t say a single word to me the entire time. I left feeling like I had bothered her. Definitely not how anyone should treat anyone else.
I just need to give a huge shoutout to Carmen for helping me and my sister yesterday. Not only was she super helpful teaching all about serums, but she was so funny and sweet.
Terrible at recommending makeup to anyone that isnt white. Theyll give you foundation and then when you go outside youll look like you need lotion on your face. Even with the huge range of colors by fenty.
If it wasnt for needing my make up right now, Id definitely stick to just ordering online. Its one that for customers to be rude but for employees help rude customers to follow suit, its unacceptable and a quick reminder as to why I buy online.
The first store had just one attendant who wasnt helpful with what I was looking for at all. The second store which is bigger, had attendants that were super nice and went an extra mile to find the colors of some lipsticks I wanted.
Was not allowed in although medically exempt from masks. Medical exceptions are allowed per the disability care act and the Americans with disabilities act. I will be reporting them
It was AMAZING!!! Go see my girl Brittney and Chica ❤️ They can get you the best products and helpful information to go along with it😊
If I could rate this store less than one star I would. Ive never had worse customer service in my life. First I was looking for foundation. I dont know much about make up thats why I went in store. 2 sales associate walked past me numerous times. Finally one of them stopped & asked me am I finding everything ok. I replied with not really, I dont know much about make up. She then replied to me oh. And walked away. I then saw the other associate just walking around. I just left. The products are way too expensive for me to just buy things. If I wouldve gotten the help I needed I couldve spent a pretty penny. I would never be returning to this store.
You can loose yourself inside before someone comes to see if you need any assistance. After that the staff is nice but in my personal opinion not so professional but I am picky so...
I do feel that customer service is lacking, but some of the girls were great, or watching because they think you going to steal. Others, Im like how did you get this job! They have cameras every where, so they need to be genuine while helping. Black women are the worse to each other, especially in Durham.
Love the products.....they have it all. Found the Supergoop that i was looking for...service was excellent
Alexis was so helpful and amazing! I will definitely be back to shop with her. Ask for Alexis !!!!!
I felt VERY uncomfortable. This lady was following me around as if i was i was gonna steal something for 10 minutes. Didn’t even get to buy what i wanted .
Love Sephora!! The folks that work here are always super helpful.
Classic Sephora in terms of products. However, service can be a bit better. The workers, from my experience, are often pretty stand-off-ish and dont seem very excited to help you. However, there are a few employees that are great but most, not so much.
Associates are too busy gossiping ...spend a few minutes here and understand why Amazon is winning.
I give Sephora a 5 out of 5 because of the customer service and knowledge I receive from Lakisha! I loovveee all of the products that she has introduced to me and they are working wonders!!! I was having trouble with my skin and tried hundreds of dollars in products with no change. After talking to Lakisha she immediately knew what I needed and all I can say is shes the BOMB!! ! Anything you need shes got you😉!
As with most Sephora stores, customer service is either super helpful or does not want to be bothered. You have to find the ones that want to help.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Customer service here it is absolutely ridiculous, I went to Sephora I was trying to get some help finding a foundation for me and nobody wanted to help me. I kept getting passed from one person to another and the last lady was extremely rude with me when I said I didn’t have a specific brand preference. It was like she didn’t even want to help so u walked away. Ladies if you have this type of problem in this store please report it, they don’t deserve your business and if it’s not my fault that these employees don’t like their jobs.
Wonderful customer service even though the store was a bit crowded.
Went to make a purchase and try the mini makeover . I observed 2 of the ladies doing make up . They appeared friendly The rest of the ladies were RUDE, professional and could be heard speaking negatively about customers. When asking question none appeared happy to help . The makeup staff didnt appear too knowledgeable about the basics. Who recommends a silicone-based foundation for someone with dry skin.I made my purchase but would NEVER EVER shop here again or reccomend it. The pros :Great location.
TL;DR - Employee crossed a line. He was very entitled and weirdly pushy. Thinking he was doing me a “favor” by snatching one of my favorite items out of my bag and not letting me buy it. I will stick to shopping online.Full story - On Sunday (May 19th), I had the worst visit at this Sephora that makes me want avoid this location for a long time. I will just stick to ordering online or if I’m at the mall I’ll just stick to Nordstrom. The first reason that doesn’t make me want to shop here are the teens that shop here (when their parents aren’t with them). They are so rude and obnoxious. A teen girl literally ran into my bag so hard it caused me to turn directions. It was so unnecessary because she clearly had room to go around me and she never said a word or apologized but whatever. I know Sephora can’t really control this so that’s not why I’m giving a poor review.Really the main reason why I am writing this poor review was because of an interaction I had with an employee.I came here with my good friend and we were browsing the fragrance section. We were minding our own business testing the Kat Von D perfume when an employee came up to us and told us not to get that perfume as it’s terrible. My friend wears one of the Kat Von D perfumes so naturally we were curious as to why he thought it was terrible. He went on to say a lot of bad things and made us smell it which I was like “you don’t like that?” Because I thought it smelled nice. It was sorta of funny and amusing at first because it just all of his opinions (not actually how the product wears or anything useful so we didn’t take it to heart). This continued on for a little bit before I asked his opinion on my favorite perfume from Chanel but then things got weird because I had the Chanel perfume in my bag already before he came over. I just wanted to hear his opinion on it but he actually snatched the perfume OUT OF MY BAG and wouldn’t let me buy it. After me saying no several times and saying that that perfume was my favorite. He started by saying that Chanel is only for “teens who’s parents buy it for them or old ladies” ... I mean it was all just his opinions not any useful information about the fragrance but he continued to roast it and anyone who wears it (which was me). Any real sales person with tact would see how uncomfortable I was but he proceeds to show me other perfumes because he didn’t want me to buy MY FAVORITE perfume. He was overly pushy to sell me something else in an oddly manipulative way. Acting like he was doing me a favor. I don’t do well under pressure so I settled on a Chloe perfume. Which he actually put it in my bag and didn’t want to hand it to me even though I had my hand out for him to give to me. In the moment I felt so uncomfortable that just wanted to get out of there so I ended up buying a $115 perfume that I didn’t actually want. I tried to play it off and justify me buying it. After thinking about everything that happened to me it just didn’t feel right and I ended up buying the Chanel perfume anyways online later that evening. Now I have to try to return this perfume that I NEVER wanted. My friend was shocked by his behavior and could see how uncomfortable I was and she was being very supportive. This is honestly the first time something like this has ever happened to us so we didn’t know how to handle it. I was more shocked and tried laughing it off but it honestly upsets me. This employee crossed a line. He needs more training in how to treat customers. It’s pretty simple, if a customer already has one of they’re favorite items in THEIR bag the employee should never reach into the customer’s bag and snatch it out no matter what their opinions on that item are. That’s not ok.
Had a great experience, some associates are more knowledgeable than others but great experience otherwise!
Had an amazing experience with Richard at the SP mall- set me up with advice, product and was absolutely charming!! Thanks Richard!
My mom got a make over with KATT and it was amazing. We highly recommend her.
Great Staff and Clean Store!
Jamie was great ! Enjoyed my experience she was very knowledgeable about the products . And took the proper time to explain.
Great service
The customer service at this Sephora lacks considerably compared to other locations. As someone who was a loyal customer in Massachusetts (We are talking VIB Rouge for two years), since moving to Durham I have been disappointed on multiple occasions. I have never been greeted when entering the store, I have been hassled for a return (that was within a week and I had the receipt for), I’ve been given attitude, and been blatantly ignored as if I was a nuisance when paying for my products. They have a good selection of products, and the store is clean so I gave two stars.
Im obviously a fan of this location. Over the past 2 years Ive come in at least weekly to get services or go shopping. Ive loved the artists and have always felt at home. I liked it so much that I got a holiday job at this location. The store is smaller than many sephoras but it feels less overwhelming than the New York stores and sometimes Crabtree. Get your free services yall!
I have been a Sephora customers for years now but the sevice at that store was terrible, very unprofessional and made me and my family feel unwelcome. They couldnt get the correct maych for cousin skin tone and the lady hleping me clearly didnt know what she was doing. I was very disappointed and I will never go there again.
The customer service at this Sephora is non existent!! The Sephora associates act as if you’re bothering them, if you ask a question. I’ve experienced this first hand on several different occasions. One time one associate made up all kind of excuses to not show/swatch or color match me with a particular brand of foundation, because of how she felt about a YouTube Influenster that collaborated with the brand I wanted. Just recently I had to go into the store again to get color match because my color IQ was entered wrong. Once again I received the “ how dare I ask for assistance” look / attitude. I was matched by 3 different associates on separate occasions, each time I’ve returned it the associate doing my return asked “why would you get that shade you can clearly see it doesn’t match?” To which I responded “the associate suggested...... “On two other occasions the associate swatched concealer & foundation & once I decided on a shade I was left with it on my face. The associate just handed me the item and left. I actually had to find & ask another associate for a wipe to remove it.Another time I purchased an item when I got home I open it and noticed something was missing. I tried calling the store several times throughout the day to no avail. I plan on returning the items for a refund and either going to the Sephora inside of JC Penny or making my purchase online. I refuse to help a store sales numbers that gives horrible service. Lastly throughout mycheckout process an associate yawned the entire time..I’ve consistently received horrible service throughout the years of me shopping there. I can say the only time I’ve received great customer service is when I spent over $400+ in a single transaction. Which happened 3 times in 6 yrs of going to this location.I’ve called the 1-800 number, filled out surveys about the service I received. In these calls & surveys they ask if you would like to be contacted regarding this experience. Each time I’ve answered Yes & provided my contact information. Sadly I have yet to be contacted by anyone in corporate regarding the issues I’ve experienced.I wish I didn’t feel the need to have every new makeup release & go to the store to swatch it. I guess you can say these bad experiences at this location is somewhat helping me with my makeup addiction, because my purchase totals have significantly dropped as well as my visits.
Always pleasant and prompt for your needs
The company and products are great, but the service is not. They dont usually know what they are talking about and they always try to upsell you. Its really awkward when you want a 12$ and they try to force you to buy a 40$ one so they make better commission. I buy from sephoras website now because of all the great coupons.
I stopped by the Sephora store at Southoint mall this afternoon. I was looking for a specific lip balm so I immediately looked for someone to help me. I saw 3 people standing around talking and I had to ask if they were employees so I could get assistance. Bad customer service!
So after making a purchase, I forgot that I had a gift card. I return to the register to return and repurchase my product. The cashier ask me how much was on the card and I replied I dont know. She continues to say because I dont want to return it if its just a few dollars. So first, those few dollars are MY MONEY it should not matter the amount of money that I want back. I am also a VIB member so I clearly spend a lot of money in Sephora. I had a picture of my gift care with all the numbers in the back and the pin number. NOW all of a sudden I can not use the gift card because I do not have it in person....if I was ordering it online I have to type everything it. There is also an option where I can type everything in at the store. I dont like to be lied to. I am very disappointed in the customer service that was presented to me and this will be my last transaction at this store.
The customer service at this Sephora is terrible. I came in today to get a foundation that matched my skintone. It’s been a while since I’ve worn and purchased foundation. Today, I had money to spend to rejuvenate my makeup collection. I thought Sephora would be a great place to start because they had variety and my skintone is hard to match sometimes. When I asked an associate in the front if she could help me match a foundation, she seemed annoyed that I asked. She said to give her a few minutes because she needed to help a customer, which was fine. Knowing what working in retail is like, I said, “cool I can wait” but then it turned out she wasn’t really helping anyone at all. She left the sales floor and never came back. After I realized she left me hanging, I just left and went to a MAC kiosk and spent my money there (which was super worth it). If you’re going to go to Sephora, just go to the JcPenney one. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy here.
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Great place to play with makeup.
I originally came to Sephora to get my regular facial cleanser, but I left with more than expected. Well worth it though. BUT, customer service sucks here. I came to get a color match in foundation with Fenty Beauty because Ive heard so much about it, and I love it. I asked for help, and an associate matched me with 290 and told me to buy some bronzer if its to bright... I tried a full face the other night and I looked like a ghost. So I came in and was able to exchange my foundation, but THIS TIME, I did a color match on myself, by myself. They didnt have 300, so I went to the Sephora at JCPenny, which I think is a lot better, and got 300 in the foundation. The associates at JCPenny were very helpful and attentive, it also might be because there arent so many people in the store.
Britney was very good dealing with my daughters questions
Great prices and selection.
Guess I’ll just switch to exclusively online. I am a VIB and never have I EVER been treated so poorly in a Sephora in my life than at this store. Woman at the register delivered such poor customer service, might as well of spoke another language. The one inside JC Penny has way better knowledgeable and professional cast-members. Highly recommend going to them instead as the store is also cleaner. Also, tried just getting a simple BAG to carry an item I’d purchased elsewhere, and the lady had the nerve to tell me they’re for purchases only. I’M VIB, I’ve made quite a few purchases at Sephora. I hope you get fired, rude woman.
The worst shopping website I have ever experienced. It do not allow purchase any items more than 1 (they say it is to make sure everyone have the chance to buy), but you can still select Qty number 2 or more. If you do not know their stupid policy in advance, and buy 2 or more same items, they will judge you as a re-seller, and deactivated your account in a highly possibility! This is not the worst, the worst thing is they NEVER tell you that your account have been deactivated!! They do it in the shadow, do not send you a email, nor notice you when you sign in your account. they make a trap to let you keep purchasing on their website and they keep cancelling your orders, so the money you pay will be stayed in their bank account for a bill cycle, 7 business days or more, so they can have more liquidity, and you lost yours, and waste a lot of time!
I have a gift card from Sephora and can only be used at the jc penny location . There employees hardly want to be there, they always have attitudes but there’s this 1 that is nice and always helping around but I can’t remember her name she’s the only one who actually does the job right other then that this store is pointless there always out of stock of everything.
Bright clean store full of helpful employees. My only problem was the inventory. They do not carry as much as the Crabtree mall store. I asked for a sample of Farsali gold essence since I liked the unicorn one and they dont carry it. They also do not carry Viseart shadow sets. I only saw maybe 4-5 shadow kits in the whole store. The k-beauty was also dismal. Once the Crabtree location is complete with their remodel it will always be my go to store. I dont have time to shop then order online when a full retail store is lacking in inventory.
They made me feel bad for not having a regular skin and makeup routine. And told me I could use a wax how rude! I have had more than one negative experience at this Sephora but I will not be shopping any place where they make fun of you an put you down!
If youre a person of color DO NOT shop here I know people that work here who are told specifically to watch people of color because they think theyll steal. Even if youre white its always extremely uncomfortable to shop here because they will watch over you the entire time and ask you questions constantly because they think everyone is out to steal from their store. This is completely unacceptable.
I saw the manager, Jasmine, of the store being very rude to an employee and customers. Her mannerisms very unprofessional, and I was quite honestly shocked. I have been shopping at Sephora for a while and its my favorite makeup store, but I have never seen such unprofessional behavior on the floor. The manager seems to have a very poor understanding of products, was dismissive of me, and seemed like she did not want to be there. I will not be returning to this Sephora until the upper management finds a solution for the terrible service and environment.
I had a good experience. I went in seeking advice on an all day/long wear lip color, seeking some translucent powder, and dry shampoo. The lady that helped me (I hate that I didnt catch her name) was very helpful and polite and gave me advice for brands and products and let me try lots of options. Overall the store was well stocked and organized. The 2nd associate was on her lunch break so when it came time to check out the process slowed a bit, but lunch breaks are necessary and its the holidays so delays are to be expected. I qualified for a VIB card and they could not be located, but the JCP manager came in, apologized and explained she would need to order some more but at my next purchase the card reminder would pop up in their system again and not to worry. She was also very polite, helpful, and cheery. The store in JCP does not carry a lot of the hair products which I didnt know, so I didnt get my dry shampoo today, but thats no big deal.
Good selection, like youd expect from Sephora, but I found the customer service a little rude. Ill be ordering online from now on, unless try-on is strictly necessary.
Horrible customer service!!!! I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Usually unfriendly service !
The customer service at this location was disappointing. If I had to choose between going to this location or ordering online and being without product for a bit- definitely ordering online!
Ms.Valerie was helping me finding products.she was terrible at applying make up on my face.she seemed bored and annoyed that i asked her for help.the experience was very uncomfortable and unhappy.
Excellant makeup
For she
Excellent customer service.
Service was horrible at Southpoint Mall in Durham .Not only was I charged for something I diidnt have but I got charged for something I did have and it was missing out of my bag and on top of it all the girl who checked me out had the worst attitude ever!
My holy place
Love Sephora
If you want unsolicited insults about your skin, arguments against what a dermatologist would tell you, and insistence on buying things that would cause you a lot of problems, come here!
😍💄❤️👍💜❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this store, there are all the brands of creams, cosmetics and perfumes I like to buy there.
Excellent the store, but they take little care of you.
