Joana is amazing cashier and sales clerk.Aling with alll of the rest of the team Theyre all friendly, courteous, and most of all very knowledgeable about the products that they sell. Stopped by to browse and walked out with a new cologne.

The employees were very helpful and friendly. They helped me find the perfect red lipstick 💄 and they helped my daughter color match her foundation.

I walked in because I noticed that they had rare beauty in stock so I was very excited. Didn’t end up buying anything from that brand but I asked to be matched to a foundation from fenty. The man working there was like “we only have really dark shades or really light shades so none will match you unless you want to order online”… I was standing there like are you serious right now… then he proceeds to tell me I should go to Cerritos because they have more in stock. He never matched me with a color. I was like okay good to know… I walked back to the fenty foundation and they were fully stocked in all colors… I don’t what type of discrimination this was but I’ve never felt so horrible in my life!!! I walked out feeling terrible.

It was a bit busy when I went. But once I got attended, the sephora employees were very helpful. I was looking for a specific lipstick and Destiny literally went around the whole sephora store to look for what I wanted. The cashier was also very nice and helpful.

I had a terrible consumer experience at this particular JC Penney that was totally turned around by two intelligent, caring service oriented employees. TANIA ( associate who saved the experience) & MARCIE ( astute individual obliviously well choosen for her supervisory position).It was refreshing to see that these individuals did not use the crutch or excuse of the pandemic to hinder their ability to do what JCPenneys had hired them to do prior to this pandemic and provide every customer with the utmost respect, dignity and quality service that they built their long-standing reputation on.

My mom needed a blush, the girl that helped my mom was super nice. Highly recommend it

These Five STARS go to Vanessa. Man she’s the BEST! She helped me out in every way possible. Told her what was going on with me what I needed she took a look herself at my skin and told me what may work for me. Gave me different samples to see what works for my sensitive/acne prone skin best. She also gave my boyfriend some tips on skin care for him.. she was just AMAZING!

I shop at Sephora frequently, and the Downey location is one of the worst. Some women who work there are very unprofessional and rude. I went during a time when it wasn’t busy, and only one other customer was there. Before I made my purchase, I asked for a sample from two ladies who were standing around talking about unrelated work topics. She was so lazy to help me with the samples and told me to ask the person at the cashier. What’s even more disappointing is she looked like the manager. She was an older tall Hispanic. They definitely need better staff and management. That store also needs better inventory, the makeup is hardly in stock. Moving forward I will just shop at Ulta.

There’s a reason for such a poor rating. They are not friendly in the least, and that’s an oversimplification. There were an exceptional amount of sales associates and every single one (including the cashier) were rude. I just couldn’t believe how unhelpful they were. I tried to overlook their poor rating and give them a chance but, no. The amount of rudeness made me feel quite uncomfortable. I do not recommended this Sephora, not unless you want to be blatantly ignored.

Today I went in with a friend I asked one of the girls there if she could color match my friend with their machine. She said for what? from here I can tell her shes wearing the wrong foundation, unless you want me to color match you and send the results to your email first of all why are you so rude? And why in the world would I want you to send the results to an email when Im here and you can help me? I swear some of these Sephora girls need to relax. May the Lord have helped her out today cause Lord Jesus

Most of the staff, not all, are great and try their best to be helpful. Only things that I find problamatic are the fact that they are usually understaffed and the line is to long and second, when making a return, some staff members are rude as if youre making them pay you back out of their own pocket. More people at the checkout would be greatly appreciated, ill continue to shop here mainly because the availability of products is pretty good.

Is there an option for 0 stars? I was trying to return something and get a refund. I called before going because I was not that close by. I told them I didnt have my receipt. They said I can still get the refund as long as we give them our insiders account info? Weird? So my sister got out (I stayed in the car with my toddler) since she payed cash and went by herself the day before. Now they say soemthing completely different. They said she needed an ID. Before saying this they were already giving her a bad time. So I called again and gave them a piece of my mind and said before I get out of my car, will you give me my refund because youre wasting my time and my toddler has not eaten. They said they would that just to show my ID. Tell me why I walk up in there and they say something entirely different the si could only get store credit and not my money back. That is the very first thing I said when I called 2 times! She said refund and store credit is the same but no I corrected her. Their customer service was terrible. They could have made an exception considering Im not from here and my toddler was hungry. If they had above and beyond customer service, they would have made an exception. Who ever does the hiring and training truly sucks. Is no superior monitoring their employees and making sure that customer service is on the top of their list? For get them, I know other places I can spend my money at

Wrost sephora nobody helps! there was only two ladies on the cash register and two making make overs, I have to look for my products myself and bring it to the cashier I have a coupon where it says that if l spend more than 35$ Ill get a set of skin samples free l hand it to the cashier she says they run out of those but if l wait she can made me one she come back with a tiny plastic bag I check and it was a micro little pod inside that she fills up with I dont know which cream and what about my coupon?? she get it for herself or friends ???

I go here because its close to my home. The girls arent customer service oriented. They chat with each other, look at you and continue to chat THEN when they are done they will talk to you. They avoid you as well. I think only one girl actually took the time to help me and she said she didnt work for the store, but for the brand she was representing tarte . She actually helped me. Girls are very snobby for no reason, and dont want to help customers. =/

After my experience at this sephora, I checked out the reviews. 3 stars overall; shocking. =|First of all, its TRUE. They are understaffed, rude and snobby. Second, no one greeted nor asked me if I needed help and I was there for 10 minutes walking around. I went there to buy a red lipstick and a perfume but I left the store without either. Rude af. I always order online except when I need to test something out....Even tho this one is the closest to me, I have no problem driving the extra miles out to any other sephora. Product was not stocked and it was just plain dirty. Makeup spilt every where, empty slots. The over all look was messy.Lucky for them, I will not be returning to this unprofessional and run down sephora

I hope they could improve certain aspects that are empirical to prefessional business such as is Sephora. Does not live up to the reputation Sephora. Poor stock, but is expected from being such a small place inside JC Penny. Messy and Trial samples are grossly displayed. Yuck! Longest checkout cashiers ever. Their AtMs and credit card scanner are down frequently. I has to input my account manually last visit. Really?

Walked in on a early Tuesday afternoon, not busy at all. All of the girls were available to help but I didnt get a greeting or someone willing g to help. I asked for a foundation and they were all out. I asked about other foundations but she didnt really seem to want to help me find anything. They are more worried about cleaning brushes then selling a product. Obviously not working on commission. I was in line for ten minutes. I had one person in front of me. There was no one in the store. Maybe 3 of us at the max. No one ever offered to help. I saw 5 employees. Ridiculous.
