I unfortunately have not had the best experience with Portland Glass of Dover. After having my windshield replaced a few weeks ago, I had part of my windshield gasket (the rubber strip around the windshield that is supposed to seal the window in) BREAK OFF while on the freeway.... I went back to the shop to have them fix it, and the very next day I was on the freeway and it broke off AGAIN. A photo of the detached/broken gasket is attached.In addition to the rubber gasket, random plastic pieces around my windshield were incorrectly installed, falling off, or just flat-out missing.I also started having a lot of visibility problems while driving in the rain immediately after having it replaced, where my windshield now developed some sort of blurry film in the rain that I can not get rid of- it does not wipe off with the wipers or after manually wiping down the glass (both outside and inside). This film also traps water on the windshield in a very weird way in which the rain smears across the glass, further worsening my visibility. On top of this, there is now also air and water that blows inside my car from weird places along the edge of my windshield (see the first photo attached). These issues have significantly impaired my visibility when driving in the rain ...Everyone I talked to at Portland Glass was always very friendly and eager to help, but the lack of attention to detail and overall quality of my windshield replacement was very disssapointing.**Since writing this review they have offered to replace the windshield for free - a gesture that I do appreciate, but at this point no longer necessary as I have already repaired/replaced all of the above issues myself...

Great service, replacement windshield had a defect so they had to get another one. It didn’t show up for the better part of the day and they stayed late to get it done for me. Also recommend the headlight restoration. It came out awesome. Thanks!

I had the occasion to have to replace a windshield in my 2007 P/U I contacted Portland Glass Somersworth, NH and they set me up with an appointment very quickly and in just about 2 hours replaced it.If you are in need of most any type of glass replacement, and live in the Rochester, Dover, Somersworth area I highly recommend contacting Portland Glass there. their service and customer service people are very courteous and knowledgeable. When I made the appointment I was quoted a price of $480 and I was told how long it would take, an hour and a half. IRL, I paid less and it took less time to complete. I didnt think the quotes were unreasonable but it is always really nice when it comes in under.

Awesome experience. Though my insurance company said they transferred information, I did need to call the shop to start my repair. From there it was seamless. They were very communicative in all the right ways, arranging to pick up my vehicle and returning it in less than 2 hours. Glass looks great, and it was so convenient. Would definitely recommend.

Needed my windshield replaced. They did a 3 way call with my insurance company which took a lot of the stress off. Replaced my windshield quickly and cleaned my dashboard. They gave me a ride to work as well which was so helpful. This is the second time Ive used Portland Glass for a windshield replacement and both times have been great experiences.

Portland Glass is a sort of one size fits all type of shop. Theyve been around this area since the beginning of time and the available services and attitude reflect this. I came in to get an old fashioned storm windowpane repaired and was told it wasnt possible and Id need to replace the whole window, casement and all. A quick drive down the road to a competitor proved this to be untrue. I guess they didnt want a small job, which likely had no profit, but the competition will get my business from now on.

Called to get an in home estimate for replacing sliding glass doors. The person I spoke to said that she couldnt schedule anything that day but that they would call me back to arrange a site visit. They never called back. Less than stellar customer service. I called Granite State Glass who came out within days of my contacting them and I signed a contract proposal with them to do the work.

Holly & her team are great! I had a broken window balance that was old and they dont carry at PG. She helped me locate and order them! They are super friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Service was superior and faster than expected. They gave me a time frame over the phone when I called to schedule and I was done almost 30 minutes sooner. The ladies at the front were also very nice and accommodating and the waiting are was clean, with a comfy couch and a flat screen to keep me occupied. Overall, it was a great experience and my windshield looks great!
