I had a lot of issues with SVS vision over the past year and thankfully my issues have resolved. This particular location is much better than the one in Madison Heights. One of my issues though is that I didnt feel like my business was important to the people who work there. I feel like they want you in and out and when it comes to buying glasses it is important to be patient and take your time and make sure that you are buying what is best for you.

This location never has appointments until 2 months from the time that you call. I was running late for my appointment 2 months later from the time that I called and David answered the phone. He explained that they only had a 5 minute grace period and that I would have to reschedule. I asked did he know of a location that has shorter wait times than 2 months. He said no all of our locations have a 2 month waiting period with an attitude. He asked me what I like to reschedule. I said my daughter still need glasses so yes I need to reschedule. He reschedule my for appointment 2 months later. He gave me the date but never asked me the time. Then said OK your all set. Isaid wait you never gave me a time. He said if you would just wait a minute I was going to tell you the time. I called the Oak park location thst lady had an attitude but I got an appointment in 2 weeks. I had a bad experience from the Detroit location before with a lady name Linda who had a bad attitude as well just like her co-worker David. I was trying to stick with this location because its the closest to my house. But Im going out deeper into the suburbs, where I will receive better customer service.

The staff at this location have Smart a** mouths. I wish I would spend my hard earned $ here...The Staff is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, don’t waste your time or your money $...I will be contacting corporate!!!....and To the owner, I see that you pay attention to the reviews because you respond to some of them...I have a ? For you...i know that you see all these different ppl having the same complaint and complaining about the same person why haven’t you taken the steps to correct the problem instead of giving the same cookie cutter copy and paste reply?!?!?!

Excellent service great quality glasses!Affordable prices. I highly recommend SVS! This is my very first time getting serviced here and the doctor, optician and customer service provider provided great customer services. If you want to get taken care of go see KP. After years with a different eye company with another business and paying high prices I couldn’t believe how SVS and KP offer me more affordable prices for my glasses with fast quick service! I give them high 5 with ⭐️ 5!

Just came from eye exam and glasses fitting appointment TODAY.I have UNITED HEALTH CARE+ MI HEALTH insurance and I know what Ive used them for and when.But you have a male employee there who sees fit to try and play mind games telling me by phone after I leave several hours later my insurance is not accepted with you all until after the year 2022.I call my insurance card and speak personally with an agent who varicose she spoke with your costumer service and that my glasses ARE COVERED.I call svs back and speak with Donald? Derrick? His name is something that starts with a D and hes asking me (whats the agents name I spoke to when I called my insurance, then telling me, he might not get back to me via phone today, wait to maybe Monday.I dont like being toyed with and my time is just as important as the next persons,And would appreciate a more professional, and accurate reading of (on-screen) documents from your employees.As we can gladly take our business elsewhere

Had the best experience! KP was the best from making my appointment to helping me choose the right glasses!! He knew what would look good or not before I even tried them on. I can’t wait to pick up my glasses, hope he’s working that day. Also the doctor was nice, polite and I was so comfortable!!!

Only glasses place I’ve ever been to that wouldn’t try to bend my glasses to fit better. SVS has also given me a hard time printing past prescriptions and then written void in big letters on it. These guys suck in every possible way a classes store could

I will never go to this SVS again! The female Dr. Is very nice but the staff is not very friendly and seems to just want to get you in and out. They also will not give you your PD # which is against the law! Everyone is entitled to their medical records! When they ran that on me I didnt say anything but I knew at that moment I wouldnt be back! I dont want to go to a medical facility that is deceptive to me.

Professional, speedy, no problems even after a scheduled appointment online was not showing in the system, made the schedule appt for the next day/ morning... wish for more of a selection, it’s cool though. Will go back, have been going for 3 years +. Same familiar faces, even the doctor. Understood the FSA processes. Good team, upgraded to 5 stars.

The staff is very friendly and the doctor has you in and out. The doctor makes for a very comfortable environment, even though eye appointments arent scary. I have only gone to this office for my appointments and look forward to scheduling at this facility for my future appointments. The staff was very professional and helpful when it came to picking out my frames. Very quick appointment for a Saturday afternoon!

I absolutely love this doctor. He listened to my needs, checked my current lenses and designed a prescription specifically to my eyes. The new script was so much better. One suggestion I have is to have the front staff be a little more kind. There was a misunderstanding about my cancled insurance and they were not aware I was coming with the presumption that I would be paying cash. I think he thought I was trying to use my cancled insurance and he was even a little mean about it. Once i told him I was paying myself he changed his attitude. Honestly if I didnt need new glasses asap because of my struggling to see I would have left at my first impression. But after going through the whole visit he turned out to be a nice guy. I will just say that I wouldnt be like that with my customers. I love my customers that I serve and I expect the same type of treatment when I go into other businesses. Which by the way is only a few blocks away from my dealership. If that man brought his car to me to be fixed I would be so kind and understanding and helpful with suggestions on what to do. He didnt do any of that but I came prepared myself. But not everyone is like me, knowing what to do, or has enough money to do so. And these people need help to see. A very vital aspect in life. I only fix cars. But still a little more kindness can go a long way. I will be back for more glasses from them. I believe in giving more chances and it turned out much better at the end than it was in the beginning.

This eye center has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in the 20 years I’ve been getting eye exams. I took my mother here for an eye exam and the staff and eye doctor were very rude to my mother. Additionally, my sister lost a contact before her new ones came in and wanted to purchase a new trial pair but they said there was nothing they could do. I took her to my eye doctor and they were more than willing to work with her and hot her all set. DO NOT VISIT THIS SVS

The doctor was very nice and explained everything. Afterwards, Charles took the time to pick out glasses for the family and give us his honest opinion on what frames he thought were best. We will definitely be back when we are due for an exam again.

Worse Customer Service Ever..... I got a call at 5:47 to pick up glasses.. I rushed in my police car to get there by 6 before closing. I made it there at 5:57 car cam time stamp arrival exactly at 5:57 . I went to the door it was already locked. There were workers sitting and would not even look up and acknowledge me.... 6:00 hit the guy that had me fill out my paper work looks up and shakes his head closed....... I work a crazy schedule and I dont know when I will be able to come there. With the way the doctor spoke to me at my exam and the treatment I just received....they can keep the glasses I paid for and I wouldnt reccomend any to go there..I wish I would have chosen another place. I can only hope with all the reviews regarding bad customer service ...management would do something about how they treat people.

The customer service was horrible. I truly believe that this company is in future disaster if they dont hire new staff immediately. The staff is really rude and unprofessional in person and over-the-phone. I will never step foot nor toe inside this establishment again. I felt so unimportant and they still got my husband money. My husband is fully covered but he was told that he wasnt in the system therefore he paid out of pocket because a staff member didnt take her job serious by not looking thoroughly or calling the right people. We definitely learned our lesson from this experience.

I arrived on time for my 9 am appointment I check in with a not so pleasant employee David (He did not provide his last name he’s a heavyset African American male) He was very rude when I requested that he wait before rescheduling my appointment he proceeds to say it will be cancelled in 10 minutes anyway! This isn’t the first time that I’ve experienced horrible customer service at this location I WILL not return!!

Great customer service from the Detroit location. I previously called the Oak Park location about my Son prescription but they were not able to care enough to assist me. I told them my insurance and what was covered and they didnt believe what I was saying nor did they call the insurance to verify. I went to the one in my area on 8 mile and Woodward and was assisted by Charles Green. I asked him his name so I can write this review because he was friendly, helpful and seemed to care. He did the research needed to assist me and was able to obtain what was need then he followed up with me about my order. We need more of his type of customer service at every location. If he is not here, im not going in lol.... Thanks again Charles.

On 12/28/2017 I walked into SVS Vision in Detroit. ( 8 mile and Woodward location). Inside were no customers and two employees who were both on their phones. I walked over to check out some glasses. After a few minutes of being ignored I walked out. I was never even spoken to by the two employees. Decided to try the Madison Heights location. A world of difference. LaToya was very helpful as well as the store manager and doctor who gave me an exam. I ended up buying two pair and will be a return customer next year.

I called at 9:06 a.m. in the morning on February 13, 2018. Linda answered the phone and she had a very bad attitude and a nasty disposition from the beginning. I told her I needed some help and I had a few questions and she told me she didnt have time to talk because she already had customers that she was helping in the office. She cut me off in mid sentence. I asked her would it be better for her for me to walk in or call back and she said even if I did come in, it was going to be a very long wait. I have no problem waiting but Linda is in dire need of customer service training and I will be calling corporate. I will be driving the 3 extra miles to go to the SVS on Coolidge.

When I walked in to use my Groupon eye exam, the acting manager was a bit rude. She finally came up out of her seat to dress me, and barked at me because I was not quick enough with my responses. Finally she hand me over to the salesperson, who did sit down and schedule an appointment. He was nice. The place seems very popular Karma and the manager a bit pretentious in her Snappy snarky tone. It may be popular, but its not because of her personality.

I’ve been to this location twice now for my eye exam. After my first appointment there, I was very hesitant to return, but I decided to give them another shot. I was just as disappointed as the first time. The staff are very rude and unhelpful. The doctor is just as bad. It’s as if everyone in there hates their job. They don’t care about customer service, or your eye health. Save yourself the hassle and spend your money elsewhere, anywhere else!

I had a horrible experience at this location (8 Mile). I went to get an eye exam and contact fitting in January of this year. I told her I wear Acuvue 2 and she told me that they don’t sell them anymore and she will prescribe me Acuvue vita which are $40 more for a box. She said if I didn’t like them to let her know and she will change them. My insurance covered it so I decided to try them out. However, the contacts were very uncomfortable, irritated my eyes, and made my eyes itch so bad. So I decided to come in to see if she could change the brand. The customer service rep went to speak to her and they’re laughing in the back and she’s telling him that she will not change the brand and he says I already know (giggling). So he comes back to me and say I have to get refitted (and pay the refitting fee again) or she will not change the brand. I’m explaining to him that I just got fitted in January so why would I need to get refitted. He said it doesn’t matter I would have to get a whole new contact exam. I never heard of an eye doctor requiring another fitting in the same year just to try on a different brand that I was not satisfied with especially if my prescription was up to date. So I decided to go to Henry Ford Optimeyes where I know they will help me find a brand that is comfortable for me.

Front desk receptionist did not have the best attitude, the lady’s face was twisted up and wasn’t very approachable. I was asked to come in early to complete paperwork and I did. She gave me someone else’s paperwork 🤦🏽‍♀️ confidential huh? Not so much. NO WHERE TO SIT! Unbelievable!! Schedule according to your seating! It was crowded and no where to sit. Unprofessional for sure. I asked them before making my appointment to please check and make sure I was eligible for glasses and of course they said yes. I walked in “SORRY, ma’am you won’t be eligible for glasses” until blah blah blah....I asked you guys to check before I came in, thanks but no thanks! Thank god my children were eligible because it would’ve been a waste driving there. currently waiting for my children to be seen hope the doctors service is ok.

Horrible customer service. The store I received poor customer service was located on 8mile in the new plaza near Meijers. I walked in and ask the rude lady at the desk if I can sat-up an appointment for my son, she asked for his insurance card. As I handed her the information she tried to argue with me about my son needing another insurance card. She was wrong and the information I provided her was correct. I walked away from the situation because I did not want to make a sceen in front of my son or be as ignorant as she is. She was very is rude and disrespectful and needs to attend some sort of customer service class.

Ridiculous customer service. Wow. I called to make an appointment and the woman who answered the phone immediately became confrontational when told her I was using insurance. Questioned whether I knew my policy when I told her it was through an employer not the state, then was rude and offered me one appointment option which was early on Saturday. I asked for a later time and she said she had nothing. No other days or times because no one canceled yet. Just a stupid way to lose a family of 5 as a customer.

Downgrading my review as its been a week and I still do not have my purchase..Again..if I would have been told before hand that the lenses would take this long I would not have purchased them..I will be contacting corporate to complain further.Was not told all of the details of my purchase until after my card was charged...was offered a refund but at this point its too late..poor customer service
