Buyer beware . Probably should have checked in with this company before making a expensive purchase. The reviews on eBay looked promising with 99.9 % positive. I paid a very pricey shipping bill as these part were sent to Canada. They company was very responsive to email me about how they didnt have my parts in stock etc. I was fine with that . They finally arrived almost a month later, in a poor excuse of a box . And they were just rolling around loose . Not sure why anyone especially a hub/ axel shop, would ship a delicate part like this . Needless to say both were damaged, and unusable . The company has failed to email be back and from the review and research I dont see any resolution happening on my end . Just dont use this company ! Please ! Its a waste of people time and money .

This place is awesome, it has all your needs for springs, bearings and of course axles. They also have products for your suspension. they have a lot of parts that you would think they would not carry because of the name. The downside is they are located on a busy road and parking is at a premium. Most of the parts I got were cheaper or the same price as Amazon! If you need parts now! This is the place!

Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. I am not sure why its still successful. I purchased an item and I emailed Detroit Axle about the defectiveness of the part and no one responded. After wasting a while with Frank he apologized and said I can have my full money back through Ebay or partial through a store credit. He put me on hold for an hour and never came back. Ever since i have called more than 30 times and every time I call Frank informs his agents aka Drew, James, etc. to hang up on me. I have a video recording showing the agents are acting recklessly and being rude. Worst part about it is I emailed the owner and tried my utmost to contact him, but he never responds nor his front manager Mike is any help at all. I doubt the owner does not have 10 minutes to speak to a customer. I gave them ample opportunities to fix this. To be exact more than 30 calls. All I wanted is to speak to Mike or Ahmad. Customers are the point of sale, it seems I am not the first customer to have an issue with this company! Check the BBB reviews, so sad.......

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered a part in the morning, asked if I would be able to cancel it if after talking to my dad if I didnt need it. Was told I could cancel up to 6 pm. Canceled the order around 3 pm and was told it would not be shipped. Several days later received the order in the mail. Called and was told it could be returned and they would issue me a return label. They sent the return label and I returned the item in the exact box, never removed the item. One month later and I still have not received my refund. Tracking shows it as delivered and received by Rich at their dock over a month ago. Still no refund. Will be contacting the BBB and filing a IC3 Internet/mail fraud claim if I do not receive my refund very soon.

Ordered struts for a 2002 pontiac bonneville and they shipped fast and work wonderfully. I ordered a CV axle online from here and realized I could get one in town for around the same price so I called and had the order cancelled within 1-2 hours after ordering. I got a call confirming the cancellation by someone that barely spoke a lick of english and told me I should shortly receive my refund. It has been a week now and NOTHING. Legal actions will be taken if I do not receive my money shortly. After this experience, I dont think I will order anything else from here fearing losing money rather than saving.

Do not buy from this business! Rebuilt power steering rack failed and began leaking within a month and they will not honor their lifetime warranty, owner Mike and the rest of the people working there dont have any customer service skills whatsoever, they simply do not care once they get your money. Look elsewhere for a company that does quality work and will stand by their product!

Bought a rack and pinion, told them car year and vin. Got rack it was wrong one. They said they didnt have the right one to fit. Sent me a return label and I sent rack back. Shipping showed rack was recieved by dearborn but I was not reimbursed my $244.20. I called them 3 different times they said they didnt know why I didnt get refund and I would recieve it but never did . The last time I called I talked to Tom ext# 1115 he said I would get conformation in 24 hr. And refund in 48 hrs. He said he watched it get put into system. Filed clam with PayPal and finally got my money back. I would not buy anything from this place again.

I purchased a part on ebay from these clowns. Part was heavily corroded with a fresh coat of paint. Found it to also be deffective. Sent it back at their request. 4 months have passed, over 30 phone calls and more than a dozen emails. They have my money, my core charge and the part. People only leave good reviews because there was no problem. If there is a problem, YOUR SCREWED!! Look for a review that shows how well and fast they fixed a problem. My advice is to buy from your local shop. Its well worth it. These people were so rude to me I have made it mission to prevent them from cheating anyone else!!!

Bought brand new struts and shocks on eBay from them for my 2006 focus. After 2 months, both struts and both shocks are blown on the car. I hear loud banging sounds in the front every time I hit a medium sized bump or pothole, and I hear squeaking thuds in the rear over every single small bump, which indicates blown struts and shocks.Was told they only will warranty the front struts and not the rear shocks. Oh and i have to pay for shipping for the warranty replacement. Absurd customer service, i have sent them multiple emails over multiple weeks, finally had to call in to even get an answer on a possible refund or exchange, will never do business with them again. Do yourself a favor and pick up some oem or decent quality parts on rockauto, pay the extra $30-$50, and they will last 10x as long as the Detroit Axle Shocks and Struts.

They told me $65 to rebuild each axle, when I return to pick up the axles they quote $90 each, its a complete rip off, then tell me theyre going to rip them apart if I dont pay, ....and the thing is I only bought the axles there because the boots were torn the axles were working fine. Theyre doing bait and switch and thats dishonest!!!!!!!!!!

Where do I start? I ordered 5/21/18. They shipped the unit #1 which was for another auto make. No harm, no foul- mistakes happen.Unit #2 was shipped, but apparently was not scanned by UPS at the vendors dock and lost in the system. Unit #3 was shipped and i was told it had no tie rods or bellows; I bought my own.Unit #2 miraculously arrived on a Saturday while #3 never arrived. Unit #2 was never tested by the vendor, was missing a dust cap, and still had paint blocking the pressure and return ports. (I was told by the owner that this rack was perfectly functional, even though it was never tested and steering fluid wouldn’t flow with blocked ports- I guess I’m the picky customer.) The vendor was concerned that I still had two units on my workbench and I agreed, quickly putting them on a UPS truck to return the following day. Our agreement was I would return Units #1 and #2 and they would get #4 shipped via UPS, with a half-ass promise of overnight shipping. Nope, several days passed and I called only to find out they were just preparing it for shipping.Ugh... smh...During this last two week period where I had to call them and wait 10-15 minutes on hold, I always spoke to someone new and had to start fresh with my issue. There was never anyone who took ownership, assuming that I was even given a real name (yes, one of the reps acknowledged that we were given at least one false name.) We did receive a name of one person who sort of took ownership of the poor customer service. But, when I called to speak to him a few days later, at first he was at lunch (at 4:00 local time), and then he was gone for the day, and finally he was on vacation for the next week. Even after those 3 stories from the same rep during the same call, the customer service rep told me he got his story wrong- the rest of us call that lies.After waiting over a week for the fourth unit to arrive almost *4 weeks after* our initial order (transit time was about 2 days via UPS), the vendor shipped Unit #2 in the same exact condition. They made no attempt to complete it, and test it. For what its worth... the first unit look to be in good rebuilt condition with plugs in the ports and a nice paint job.Nobody picked up the phone to reach out and ask me for any info to confirm they could sell me the correct part. The vendor I ultimately choose yesterday has already emailed me back with 3 seperate questions to confirm proper fitment, and then called me 20 minutes after I place my order to confirm my issues and confirm a resolution- all within 24 hours of my initially reaching out to them. Detroit Axle couldnt pick up the phone- not once in 4 weeks to reach out to me.You decide if you want to deal with them.(This is my review which I wrote and originally posted on Yelp.)

Hot garbage is the most polite way to describe Dearborn Axles product and customer service. I had to call 3 weeks after my order to see where is was - they had lost it. Then of the two axles I ordered, one was the right fit and one was 4.25 inches short (made for and auto tranny - I have a manual). I called and let them know. What followed was a time consuming game of customer no service. More importantly, the one axle that did fit was spitting grease all over the inside of my wheel is 2-3 weeks time after installation. Save your time and money, these guys are selling Chinese junk as American made. Worse, theyre total clowns.

Absolutely the worst experience I have had purchasing automotive parts.Bought a front drive shaft for my 06 Jeep Liberty as a guest user through eBay and Dearborn/Detroit Axles Store at the end of May. Initially, I called them because I found the part through an online forum and was referred by one of their employees to eBay as the vendor through which they sold it at the lowest price ($199.99). I paid shipping on top of this and was mostly convinced by the fact that the gentleman I initially spoke with said the part was NEW and not remanufactured (which as I found out later may not have been the case) and their lifetime warranty.So I receive the drive shaft and install it and immediately notice excess grease coming from the bolt holes before the vehicle was even driven. I took photos and continued my install, thinking it may have just been residual from manufacturing. After installing and driving for a day, I rechecked the torque on all bolts and immediately noticed there was a distinct line of grease underneath my car that was slung from each of the bearings. This was A LOT of grease.I immediately took pictures of the grease and resultant mess and sent them to Detroit Axle. I spoke, at this time, with Amanda and she offered very little information/support. I asked repeatedly if it was safe to drive and whether or not this is normal (it is a sealed unit and should not exude any grease) and at one point she simply stopped responding to my emails and calls. Against my better judgement I continued driving until late June/early July when I was driving down the interstate and felt an intense vibration followed by the familiar grinding sound of the bearings in the shaft going dry again.I removed the drive shaft to find that even more grease had been slung from the part. Also, in moving it with my hand, I could feel/hear that they were completely dry. I immediately called Detroit Axle and spoke with Rob, who explained the part was covered with a lifetime warranty and that he would send out a new one immediately with a $150 deposit on my card, which would be refunded when they received the old drive shaft. He also mentioned that the box the new shaft came in could be used to return the old shaft and the shipping label would be included (I made sure to clarify because shipping is expensive on this 17lb, 3 foot long part).Well, the new shaft comes in the mail, and lo and behold it is not only also covered in grease, but substantially dented on one surface. I, again, took pictures and sent them to Rob, who assured me that the part was fine and to go ahead and install it. This is despite the fact that it was nearly impossible to fit on the vehicle (due to the dent) and had to be manipulated. After spending nearly 3 hours on what should have been a 20 minute job due to the damaged part, I take the old shaft to the UPS store to ship back.Once I arrive, the gentleman at the UPS store informs me that there is no label on the box for prepaid shipping, nor was it inside the box, etc. I called Detroit Axle again and spoke with Mike (who I would later learn is the owner) and he said, Oh, Rob should have sent it (shipping label) to your email, let me send it to you real quick. Of course, I dont have the ability to print from my cell phone and the UPS store wanted $4 to print the label. So, it was another 15 mile round trip and half hour of my time to go back home, print the label, and get it in the mail.At this point, I call Detroit Axle back again to explain my frustration and issues with not only their lacking customer service, but also sub-par product. I was told rather rudely, by Rob at this point, that they would be charging me for the shipping label they generated as well as the cost of shipping the replacement shaft to me. This was not discussed prior to my paying the $150 deposit, so of course, I am upset. It seemed that since Rob did not adequately explain or understand the warranty process he was trying to push the cost of shipping off onto me.(continued on their other Google listing)

This place is a true rip-off bought an axle from them for $95.00 they gave me the wrong axle. it kept blowing hubs and bearings. finally compared the original axel to the one i purchased from them and it was wrong. Very bad attitude when i called them and told them. Their reaction was that it was impossible and they needed to see the original along side the one i purchased. have a smart mechanic he sprayed my original red to show where the difference was the guy was shocked to see that and still gave me gripe until other customers came into the store. my original cost for the repair was going to be $190.00 after the numerous blowouts of hubs and bearings went to different mechanic and the total was now at $808.00

Had cheap parts I needed but its hit or miss if they last the cv/axle shafts I got, one lasted a while and 3 broke within a week I have only bought one hub bearing from this place and then I only had the car for 2 months so Im not sure if they are quality or not but it did not break within 2 months and it was reasonably priced compared to everybody else just be prepared to do more work if you buy products from them because you are probably going to have to replace them later but they do offer a warranty it just takes more time out of your day to do the work

Dont know what has happened to Detroit Axle in the last few years, but the 2 axles I recently purchased were both terrible. Left and right side axles both appeared to be painted to look new (standard procedure), but still had dirt in the threaded area (axle nut area). This tells me that your quality control is horrible. Both axles did not drive well on the vehicle (shaking vehicle when accelerating from a stop with steering wheel turned right or left). Further investigation (purchased new from auto parts dealer) rendered both of the axles were not rebuilt, or possibly your company just replaced torn boots with new and shipped them/sold them as rebuilt. Your return policy is so bad, I just ate the price and will not do business with you again. Good luck with your diminishing business. This write up will be copied and pasted in Google reviews and others as well.

Pure garbage. Bought a rack with a lifetime warranty for my 2002 Tacoma. It failed, developed popping and leaking within 5000 miles. After literally 2 weeks of fussing with me they shipped a replacement, costing me over $200 in labor for the second time. Now, 10000 miles later, the second replacement has failed and is leaking everywhere. Their products are chinese garbage and the owners are some arab guys who dont want to help you.

These people sold me a defective part.. cost me twice as much to replace it with a good part from a local store. I called to get a refund and have been given the run around like youd never believe it. I dont recall another company that has more rude staff than this one - all of the ones I dealt with were very rude, would hang up, and say to call back. Even the owner is a moron. Ordered a Rack & Pinion from them. Worked for one week then started having issues.(part was faulty) had it checked by 3 different technicians. They all said the same thing. It was no good. It was under warranty so I sent it back to be replaced. Had to pay for shipping plus deposit fee. Was a total of $120. New Rack & Pinion shows up. Had to fallow up for 3 weeks to get my deposit back and when I did i only got back $60 and as bad as it was it gets worse. Ive had the New Rack & Pinion in for maybe a week and noticed a gap when i turn. Come to find out 3 teeth have broken in the gearbox. Will not bother to replace through them. Their customer service is down right pathetic and their parts are beyond unreliable. DO NOT SHOP HERE...

I get a rack and pinion for a volvo, it was a great price. When i receive it it was the wrong one, send it back with ashipping label from them, Have to wait until the rack and pinnion get to them and get inspected to ship the other one, (1.5 weeks) the new one arrive when get it installed in the car it was a bad and noisy one. Call customer support for a refund and they tell me at first that a refund cant be done cause it was mor than 30 days and it dsnt matter if the first one was the wrong one. Keep asking dor help and in the end they just refund me the cost of the part and keept $100 for the shipping cost. In simple words i paid $100 for getting 1 wrong rack, 1 bad rack and in the end i dint even get the part from them and lose my $100. Defitnely not buying from them again.

I dont like the fact they claim made in usa, I bought before I read the boots are made in china. 3500 miles am replacing the cv axles, Its a shame there is no quality in products anymore, Price was cheap but you get what you pay for. Now the cust service rep supposedly sent out another set of axles to me, which wont go in my truck but on the floor as a door stop. at 200 for reinstall again I am out 485. I wont purchase again....

Well I am Pams husband, since i dont have my own google account, anyway, bought a rebuilt rack and pinion from them, price was great so it was worth the chance of gettinga good/bad rebuild, car is a chrysler concorde(same as the intrepid and some 300s) took two weeks to get and a phone call, it looked like they boxed it up and fedex never picked it up, the shipping box took a bit of a beating, the rack is painted after rebuild so there is paint buildup on the input spline. not a big deal but if i had noticed it earlier i would have cleaned it up as it was a really tight fit to the intermediate shaft. so after two weeks driving it everyday, no leaks, no play. steering wheel center is right on so the did a good job on the rebuild. im satisfied, great price for a good rebuild.

This organization FAILED miserably when I tried reaching them for a warranty claim. 3 emails and a voice mail and 7 days later I had eBay get them on the phone. I had ordered a wheel bearing and it failed. I needed it replaced ASAP and now I havent been able to drive my vehicle for a 9 days because their response time.......well, lack of ANY response I guess caused me to buy a wheel bearing somewhere else. Now, I get customer service on the phone and they tell me about their policy for returns. I am to pay the shipping back to them....pay a deposit, 1/2 the cost of the original item....after they get it back and do their inspection for whether or not it was a failure due to my driving, and accident, road conditions and they determine it wasnt my fault they would replace the part and then refund me the deposit. So, I guess I would be out 8 to 10 more days before they even sent out a new one. EPIC FAILURE!!!! I WOULDNT ORDER A MUFFLER BEARING FROM THESE CLOWNS!!!!
