Tina was great to work with selecting our new quartz countertops. Not pleased with installation.The initial seam was horrible. They sent someone back the next day to fix it. It’s now a clean line, but still very noticeable.The hole they drilled for the soap dispenser was not thought out. It was placed so that the underneath soap bottle lined up and blocked the electrical outlet for the garbage disposal. We ended up having to hire an electrician to move the outlet.I also feel like they did the sink cutout wrong. I have never seen where the countertop wasn’t even or overlapping the sink. Mine has a ledge that collects water and I think just looks bad. The 1/2 bath sink countertop was done correctly, so not sure why the kitchen was done differently.Overall, my “new” kitchen looks great. It’s just frustrating that we spent so much money and I get angry every time I look at my kitchen sink.

Jolynn was great! This is a way cheaper option as opposed to any of the big box stores, and higher quality. Installation was quick, and looks amazing. I highly recommend them if you are thinking about doing cabinets or countertops in your kitchen!!

Warning! Dont shop here!We purchased a granite countertop from A1 Cabinet & Granite a few years back. They cut and measured around for our 30-inch stove. Its time to buy a new stove, and it wont fit. A1 Cabinet & Granite cut a 29 1/2 space. We called them hoping to get some help, and the owner told us we arent worth his time. It would cost him more than the job was worth. Ouch! I realize that we probably wont need to buy another countertop at this home, but we sent several of our friends there. We wont make that mistake again, and you shouldnt either.

We went into A1 granite just curious about the costs. We did a rudimentary measurement of my kitchen project and the quote given was a fair amount less than I expected. I also wanted to do my vanity, and the honest representative said, you know you can get those at Menards cheaper - and we did that, but the honesty was refreshing.After considering the price we signed on to do it. We picked a perfect color and style of edge. They did the rest. They came out and measured within a day of signing the project, and had the slabs done in 2 weeks. On install day they showed up at 9:30am, tore out my old counter tops, cut my existing back-splash to fit and installed the new counters and left by 3:30pm. Was it extra for removal? Sure, but after the time they spent removing it I am GLAD I paid for it!I am very pleased with the install and quality of the granite - its flawless. The price was excellent for all the work done.I would highly recommend this place.

Used several times no issues. Last purchase of marble counters was a disaster. Didn’t seal counters and were ruined 2 months later with dead spots, was told to asetone wash reseal. Didn’t work won’t return calls.

This place specializes in affordable, quality kitchen cabinets. Featuring full extension drawers and soft close doors and drawers. A nice variety of granite to top off the cabinets. Also included are kitchen and bath sinks. Several in stock colors to choose from. Very professional.

The rock is good, the service and experience were miserable. The showroom staff at large were very unorganized and unprofessional. When we came to pick out our rock, the person behind the counter pulled our file, snickered, showed it to her coworker and threw away a piece of paper out of the file (never did figure that one out).When the install date came, the installers showed up unannounced an hour early just as we were ready to run to the store (leaving us no time to prepare the kitchen). They walked into the house like they owned the place (and were angry about it) and made no attempts at pleasantries. This left us very uncomfortable their entire stay. Two of the three installers made moderate attempts to hush their innuendos and attempts to learn the word for male genitalia in Chinese. One of whom made my wife very uncomfortable on multiple occasions.They unnecessarily cut out the hole in the rock for the sink while it was in the kitchen, which resulted in having to wash every dish, box, bottle, spice container, window sill, wall, floor, and cabinet in the kitchen. The shop vac they used to suck up the dust from the saw blew the same dust all over our just-dusted living room. All told, they made us very uncomfortable and left the house a disaster (apart from polishing the granite, of course).

Beautiful job

I started this journey in June and today in August have decided to end my attempts to work with this company. I was given a bid in June by “rep1” and went back a week or two later to get a quote on quarts by rep “rep2”. Deciding between granite and quarts a few weeks went by and then I got a text that they were taking an additional $ off if I wanted to move forward. Made arrangements to go that weekend w my husband and do a down payment and final choice. Rep 3 gave me a quote for almost 600.00 more than my first quote, stating that rep 1 wasn’t with them anymore and never should have offered that rate, and that rep 2 was new and also should not have offered the rate on quartz. That all prices are subject to change (nondisclaimer) and her rates were the ones I had to go by. I left confused since I told her I planned to pay that day. I call Omaha store and get the contact info for the owner Sammy. Who says he will honor the rates and assigns me to rep 4. I email and email asking for the bids and after a few weeks finally call to be told they had the wrong email. I get the bids (Aug now) and still see the rate was honored but extra fees for so after a week she drops those charges and so I call to select the product and again tell her I want to pay and get scheduled I have now lost almost 3 months due to their internal issues. So on 8/26 I am told that the SOONEST they can come to measure since I am out of town is November and soonest for install is December!!! I say okay whatever and she says she wants to confirm with owner cause the product I chose is Peppercorn White but the bid says Pepper White (I assume it’s just shortened). She says he will call me back. Today (2 days later) I call to remind her I want to pay and she tells me the product is out of stock and they don’t know when they will get it back in, even though two days ago she said I was getting a great deal cause the cost has gone up 8.00 per sq ft since last month. The date on my bid is Aug 21st. So I say okay what about the other product she says that ones gone too and maybe I would be better to go to a different company. So no one really is honoring their rates, well they are then just saying the product is not available anymore. So I call few other companies who have just a few days turnaround for measurement and straight forward pricinging that is competitive to A1. I regret wasting months w this company. If your looking for product you might want to take into consideration how fAr out they are booked. I was told today also they always say prices are subject to change yet today is the first I have heard that. Did they really not know they were in the middle of switching vendors when they got me the quote a week ago. No they just figured they would give me a date so far out that I’d walk away.. then when I didn’t they tried another sidestep. Good luck. I now have an appt with @Kamen Granite who can be out within a few days and is only booked out 4-6 weeks. I was given a matching bid so for quicker turn around and straight forward pricing I would give them a call!!!

Great selection of granite. Not much for cabinets.

We purchase a whole renovation of our kitchen. The cabinets were well under the price of any place we looked at as well as the granite (both at half the price sold elsewhere). There were some marks on the dark cabinets but they used a marker and it helped. They were very good at designing the kitchen the way we wanted and Im glad they insisted on doing some of the things they were adamant on. Took them on their profession opinions and am glad I did. We are very happy with our kitchen. In the end I designed the kitchen. I felt there workers were conscientious and nice. I gave one that came back to finish the work a $20.00 tip for which he was very gracious and he did some extras that was nice of him. He designed a center island that we love as it moves on castors and is really convenient. One of the items I didnt let go and was willing to pay the extra money for. It was the first time they tried this and they were a little apprehensive. So this was an area I didnt listen to them and Im glad I didnt. You need to be strong on the things you want.Now for the negative, when we sat down for the final amounts and they had a different story what we were told verbally . We were told that with the purchase of $2,000 of granite we would get a kitchen sink or the sink would be applied to a sink if we bought our own. We bought a different one and then they would not give us the discount. Some of the other discounts that we negotiated on were also refused and said that they never said that. If they make a promise get it in writing. We almost didnt go with them as the negotiations broke down and the main designer wanted to do the job as easily as possible instead of our special requests that we agreed on. He wanted the fast easy way. So then when we placed order, they had an attitude.

Stopped in to A1 to get a rough estimate. Older woman sitting in the middle acted as though I was bothering her, and rolled her eyes at me every time I asked a question. I asked her to show me the granite selection and she told me I could go outside and take a look and let her know if I found anything. (Pretty rude if you ask me). Younger employee outside approached me and asked if i needed help with anything and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Went back inside to get a rough estimate, again the older woman in the middle was rude to me, and demeaning to her younger coworker. I was so disturbed by the womans behavior I politely thanked the young girl for helping me and left before I received the quote.

They did a great job taking out and replacing my cabinets. Next week they will install the counter top.

Excellent Experience with A-1. We got a quote for new cabinets at Lowes and decided to check A-1 out. A-1s quote was $7000 less than Lowes for the same quality cabinetry. They came out and measured for us rather than simply relying on my measurements and designed the kitchen for us based upon our input. There were changes along the way and they were able to handle those over the phone no problem. The install went very well. . They booked 3 days but only needed 2 as they stayed late each day to finish. This install was in an old house with uneven floors and old walls so more challenging than an install in new construction. The installers were even able to custom build on-site some things to hide some exposed venting that we discovered after we tore out the old cabinets. New Countertop comes this week. Looking forward to my new kitchen

Cant beat the price by far and service was on time and as described in quote. Great deal and extra work on install without upcharges. These poor reviews below?? Not sure why granite experts would pay to have this service done for them if they know so much; ignorance is quite comical. Very satisfied customer in West Des Moines, Matt Tappe
