There are many books, dvds, and records all pre-owned. Very nice lady and cats answers questions to there best. You can also donate any used books or movies when your finished with and wanting to clear up space.

I love searching for good books. This place has a nice variety of genres plus it has movies. Added bonus it smells like an old library and there are two sweet cats to pet. The only drawback is the hours are not always consistent.

My new favorite place! Not your typical bookstore but staff is awesome and the money you spend goes to a good cause. I love treasure hunting i.e. antique stores and thrift stores, and this book store is full of hidden gems.

I volunteer with these guys and they are amazing! First off its a super cool building so worth checking out just because of that. They also have a very expansive variety of books, and they work so hard to take care of every individual customer who comes in. Its a very individualized shopping experience for every person, and they have something for everyone.

Enjoyed the experience. The cats are so sweet. Lots of books and friendly staff and cats. Kind of strange atmosphere and building. Large percentage of hardbacks from libraries and I was a little disappointed that good paperbacks were hard to find. Not going to find current best sellers easily, but worth digging for some older treasures.

A readers Paradise! No frills used books/DVDs ingeniously arranged in copy paper boxes (on their sides) on bookshelves. And 2 friendly cats who will give you space but will allow you into theirs.

I love this place! So many books to choose from. Its not the most beautiful place. Nothing fancy about it by any means. However....Cheap, cheap, cheap! Hardbacks are 1.50 and paper is 1.00! Soooo worth the trip to visit this place. Its always my first stop if Im wanting to stock up on books.I mean, if the book wasnt good, I dont care because it was at the very most 1.50.

Lots of used books very well organized, if you are looking for something specific it would be good to check here first if you dont mind used and cheap! Closes early in the afternoon.

What a hidden gem. I cant believe Ive lived in the Des Moines area for 3 years and never heard about this place. Great prices, great selection, friendly staff and cats!

Quirky and quiet book store, GREAT prices. They have everything organized in a wonderful way, you will never leave empty handed.

A LOT of books to choose from and the prices are very reasonable - hardback books $1.50, paperback $1.00. They also had used DVDs. Will definitely be back.

Love this place!! Books are alive! I have been there twice now, and there is a great selection of books with helpful staff. Cant wait to go again :)

They have an everyday blowout sale extravaganza EVERYDAY on a wide selection of books. Just walk up to their dumpster behind the store. Thats where they keep the books that people donate to them, right in the dumpster they go.

Large sections of childrens, science fiction, Christian, and other books. Great prices and friendly staff. This is a great place to visit.

Fantastic great excellent wonderful. Last time I was in, softcover books were $0.50 and hardcover books were $1... huge selection of everything. Most books are a little old and in various qualities but really a treasure of a used book store.

A tan building thats easy to miss, but you walk in and there are books, dvds, records, kids books etc for days at great prices. Bring cash and have a treasure hunt!

Bought a DVD and the DVD was never placed into the case. Maybe the person behind the counter was new, but I didnt even want to go back to try to remedy the error.
