We tried the milkshakes and they were very watery and had no taste. We only tried one flavor so next time we are in town we will try another one but for sure not very good.
It’s cute and decent prices for Denver, but to get cocktails you have to have a horizontal license.. even if you vertical license is valid and 22 years old. Very strange policy.
Not bad ice cream. I wish they had a bigger selection. The place could be a bit cleaner. I enjoyed the whiskey ice cream the best
Awesome venue, cool speakeasy, great flavors, awesome staff.
Stumbled upon this cute little shop. I tried the brown butter stroop waffle and mighty mint chip. Unique flavors and enjoyed the ice cream! Follow @sipsandsizzles for more content!
The service was great, but the ice cream was a little pricey. the sweet corn ice cream is delicious, highly recommend
I enjoy this place because they have marshmallow topping but the ice cream they use is wildly inconsistent and I’m sick of them being out of all the normal flavors
Lots of vegan flavors and the choices are amazing. Great seating options. Love the feel of the place.
Loved my blueberry tequila ice cream in a fresh waffle cone. It was a bit hot for the mini greenhouse seating, but would love to visit when colder.
I like this place usually. This last time they didn’t have many flavors for scooping and though I was kind the scooper was mean. I was given the option to purchase a pint but it wasn’t made in house and I didn’t like it very much, which was a bummer. Hope it hits back to normal soon!
The ice cream was amazing and customer service is great here.
Ran into this place and they had very unique flavors. The Red Velvet Cookie was OUT OF THIS WORLD
Absolutely amazing! I’ve never tried such unique ice cream flavors before (the rose one is my favorite). This is legit my favorite ice cream place in Colorado!!
Unique place to eat ice cream in downtown Denver. Love the special green house looking glass house outside the building.
These guys are killing it! Amazing ice cream! The only reason were at a 4 instead of a 5 is because the flavor selection is limited. However, the flavors they do have are on point! Leopolds Absinthe, Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Dough (thats one flavor), Grapefruit Ice, Grammas Cookies, V for Vanilla, and some others. They have a window into the kitchen where all the ice cream is made. That is really cool! Definitely a fun place! They are pricey, though. But, they have Beer Floats!
Whoa. Frozen matter really left an impression on me. Clean, well lit space, happy vibe and friendly service. Delicious and unique flavor combinations all made in house! Plenty of street parking around the block, and a nice park a couple of blocks away in case you want to enjoy your ice cream on the go. Worth checking out!
Ice cream was bomb and its not expensive, would definately come back💕🥰
Why to expansive and not that good
The ice cream and sundaes are absolutely phenomenal, a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
Awesome ice cream. Lovely atmosphere in a quaint, unsuspecting shop. The boozy ice cream is to die for.
The coolest part of this spot is the attached speakeasy. We did get icecream but the flavors were lacking and the waffle cone was stale.
Our new go-to ice cream spot! Amazing flavors and toppings! My favorite is the chocolate flavor and my boyfriend loves the Cookies and Milk flavor. 100% recommend😍
I work for a tourist company and one day my passengers asked for some ice cream. Well I found this little gem on google. What an awesome place. The ice cream and shakes are so yummy. Plenty to choose from. And if youre vegan that got you covered. I will always suggest this place to my tourist if that want something sweet to eat. Thanks guys for being available. Let me note that they are open late for business all you daters out there.
Great ice cream. Ordered a pint of Chai to take home on my way out of the speakeasy.
I got a scoop of tiramisu ice cream over a brownie that they warmed up for me. It was amazing! Local and made in shop in a sustainable manner. They have vegan options too!
The ice cream was amazing! Great service.
The 2 women working tonight were incredibly rude and snarky. We walked out before we could even order.
This is better than Little Man’s. The goat cheese marmalade was the best ice cream I’ve ever had
Pricey, but delicious! Great stop while youre out drinking or waiting for a table at retrograde :)
Flavors were limited but they were really good. The toasted marshmallow topping was a great touch. Compliments the lavender caramel very well
Cant get enough of their Goat Cheese Marmalade ice cream!!! So delicious and so unique. Love this place!
Frozen Matter is one of my favorite ice cream shops in Denver! If you swing by in the fall, the pumpkin ice cream is one of the best pumpkin flavors I’ve ever had and a MUST. They have a unique assortment of flavors and the ice cream is definitely creamier / thicker than normal! The milk and cookies flavor is my other go to as they usually have it year round. On a really cute street to walk on while you eat your ice cream or they do have some tables outside when it’s nicer out.
First time checking this place out. I tried the whiskey ice cream with a brownie under it and toasted marshmallow on top. Customer service was great. 5/5 recommend.
I just want to know if there is really a secret bar behind the freezer door
Amazing ice cream made in house. The shop itself smells like baked goods. it was all great!!
Amazing ice cream place with a variety that kids will love and an alcoholic twist that adults can enjoy as well if they desire
Great selection of ice cream goodness, with a hidden gem in the back if youre over 21...
Love this place! I’ve had it a few times now and their cookies an cream is one of the best I’ve ever had. I usually get a mix of that and the oatmeal cookie. The ladies working in there are also always very nice
Amazing ice cream! BRING BACK THE GOAT CHEESE FLAVOR!!!!
Me and a group of friends all came right before close, and they were all very quick abt our order. Also no judgement for my weird order :)
Great cocktails with some very well-versed bartenders. Always enjoy my time here!
Peppermint shake was delicious. Theyve got a nice selection of cocktails and some craft beers which was a shock to me as I was coming for ice cream and apparently a speakeasy in the back. Flights of ice cream for about 10$ and the ice cream is dope. Friendly server when I went, and she even tolerated my incessant small talk.
Excellent ice cream place with a freezer that is totally full of ice cream.
Great customer service! If you are looking for vegan ice cream, they always have a flavors! They change them up as well. I have always been impressed with it here. I recommend. The Ice cream is always soft as well!
I love Frozen Matter! Very happy that I live across the street from this establishment. I am shocked some of the reviews say that this place has average ice cream. AS IF. On what planet is this place average? It has creative unique flavors, as well as some classics. I have been going here since 2016. Ive never had bad service and the flavors are so good. My husband and I always go together, or bring family here, and we all generally get the same size (2 scoops in a cup I believe) and the amount we each get seems pretty consistent. There are even vegan options which are sooo good! Im not vegan and I often get their vegan selection just because its so yummy. Theres just something about this place.
The ice cream also tasted very good. The staff was ok. The price was good. By far, the best ice cream in the city! Keeping the quality level as high as the most demanding ice cream recipes and standards.
The Thai tea ice cream was something I will never forget. Friendly and great customer service
The staff was nice and patient, but my impression of Frozen Matter was that it was pricey and not great. I felt bad because I kept asking the girl for samples of nearly all the flavors and was not finding anything I liked. I found the lavendar and peach to be an interesting flavor. However, I didnt love it. I didnt hate it. I didnt order it.I felt like I had to order something at this point so I selected the Strawberries and Cream Gelato in a waffle cone. The cone was sweet and delicious, but the Gelato was average and not worth the high dollar.
The best ice cream in Denver!!!! Terrific and delicious flavors!!!!! Staff is nice and I love their tip free policy!
It’s delicious and unique - and despite the teeny gourmet sized scoops I’ll gladly back again and again!
I LOVE Frozen Matter! I live about 3 minutes down the street, and I have the Milk and Cookies ice cream almost every single night! Ive gotten their pumpkin bread a few times with my ice cream and I have been delighted!
So so wonderful! One of my favorite neighborhood businesses. Ive never had a bad experience: the people are always super friendly and the ice cream is delicious!
Its a secret that this place is a bar. 🤫 But they have dope ice cream too.
Great ice cream and the staff was very friendly. Theres also a speakeasy inside the place.
Great ice cream, and most important quick and cheerful staff!
They have whiskey ice cream and its delicious!
Delicious, particularly the blueberry muffin ice cream!
Great ice cream! I did the double scoop and it was perfect. Tasted great!
Pretty server, good service...
The ice cream was great and the drinks were even better!
Went to this little gem on a Saturday evening after a dinner downtown and was very pleasantly surprised by the selection and flavors at Frozen Matter. Offerings look like the metal containers one sees at Italian gelato shops, but theyre all ice cream. Prices are normal for this part of Denver and servings were surprisingly large!
I absolutely love this ice cream place. The taste is authentic and unique. The happiness and giving that happens here is beautiful. Pay it forward Tuesday it seems and though I forgot her name the server was wonderful.
The ice cream is great and unique
I like the mango boba
Whoever thought of putting marshmallow cream on ice cream is a genius 😍
We went a little crazy and did the 6 scoops for ~$10.00. It mightve been way too much ice cream for the two of us, except they were mini scoops and it was all so good! The pumpkin ice cream had pie crust in it. 🤤 Yes, please. Also, why doesnt all ice cream have pie crust in it?There are a few adventurous offerings on the menu. We went for the green chili. 😜 Its exactly like it sounds. Weird. Lol. But a mini scoop was just enough for us to have a funny story to remember about the cap of our awesome date night.
Brownie was Saltish but ice creams are delicious
I took my mom here when she was in town and she’s not a huge fan of overly sweet treats and she loves their cold brew ice cream. Their ice creams are so good and not overly sweet.
The ice cream was really good.
Michelle is the best scooper! I loved her suggestion of the pumpkin pie ice cream!
Very yummy spot. Hip & trendy.
Literally the nastiest vanilla malt Ive ever had. And I drink a lot of vanilla malts. At first it came out watery with a bizarre chalky taste that I guess was The malt powder (expired malt powder?).Asked them politely to remake it and was treated very rudely and given a new malt that was thicker but even more chalky tasting.Bear in mind these are $10 malt milkshakes!!!This was my first experience at Frozen and really not sure I want to go back.
Excellent ice cream and great service
Flavors look weird. They made me panic. Then I actually tried them and they are bomb.... still odd but bomb. Also they don’t do tipping.
They make an incredible cookies and cream ice cream. Best I’ve ever tasted!!!!
I was kind of underwhelmed by the flavorfulness of the pineapple sorbet.
My favorite ice cream spot in Denver!
Each time I come here the staff is great and the ice cream is even better. As scoops or a milkshake its fantastic. I look forward to going back! The only downside is the limited seating available. But in summer they have the large garage door open to the outside and makes it feel much larger.
Great routing vegan options
I can count on Frozen Matter when I have a late night ice cream craving, because they actually stay open later than the Safeway a couple blocks down. They always have some interesting flavors and the quality of the ice cream AND customer service is amazing!
Last week I called earlier in the day to see if the bar was open, the women said yes and when it opened and so my friends headed down there for a double date night. As soon as we got there, the girl was cold and rude to us the entire time, like we were taking time out of her day. Oh and the bar was closed. Why didnt she tell me that morning when i called. It was a huge waste of time. The place itself is really cool and I love the art and where it is located. But the employee kinda ruined the experience, not sure we will be going back anytime soon. The alcoholic milkshakes were pretty strong though, that was nice.
Ice cream was ok.
Cool flavors, not huge selection
