Dont panic - THE YARN SHOPPE IS ON THE FOURTH FLOOR. Go inside the building with the empty, sterile, grey metallic lobby. Hopefully youll be more observant than me and see the small sign in the window. (Its also on the business list on the wall.) You have to take the elevator up, but its worth it to take the stairs back down just for the historical interest. The shop is tiny, but bright, with a good variety of yarns for all prices and interests. The owner is extremely helpful, friendly, and encouraging. Shes also knowledgeable, and will answer any question with confidence, including what should I make next? Her positive attitude means I now feel obligated to make something with the yarn I bought, rather than sliding it into the yarn hoard.
Wonderful little yarn shoppe! Great prices on local yarns. Love to support local businesses and local dyers. Jewel of downtown Denver! Thanks CAB!
Came here with my wife as she was looking for some yarn for a sock project. The owner was incredibly welcoming and knowledgable, they’re doing what they love and it shows! She answered questions and helped guide us in our choices. I would definitely recommend coming here for any interested in getting to know more about yarn crafts and for all veterans looking for a wonderful experience and some great yarn!
This place is definitely worth a visit! The staff was very helpful and knowledgable! The inventory is a good mix of fun bigger brand classics & locally dyed and spun yarns. The prices were very fair for artisan yarns and they also sell Knit Picks yarns [which is usually only available online] so you can see and touch a lot of wonderful things. This shop also has a pretty sweet selection of other crafting goodies: like stitch markers and knitting/crochet patterns. Yarn Shoppe Denver also shares it space with a vintage clothing/accessory store, so you can drop by even with non-crafty friends!
One of the most welcoming and helpful stores I have ever been to! Will be going for any purchases or even questions that I have
Housed inside the Colorado Building, this little gem is worth checking out! The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the different yarns she sells and there are samples of what many of the yarns will look like once worked up, leading to the most informed, personal and unique yarn shopping experience I’ve had ❤️
Great shopping experience! I love to crochet and I found high-quality, beautiful shades of yarn. I currently have two crochet projects in progress and you can visually see the difference in the yarn quality. Cassie is very knowledgeable in yarn crafts and very helpful with color suggestions. She provided me with some great tips that I would not have received in the big box stores. Plus, she is just a wonderful woman! Here are a few reasons to support this small business -- it is a locally-owned, black-owned, and woman-owned small business. You rock, Cassie!
Lovely little yarn shop! The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved that she carries a lot of indie dyers and even some alpaca yarns grown and spun by the alpaca farmer herself.
Visiting from Florida and super impressed with this yarn shop! A lovely selection of local yarns and the owner was so sweet!
Awesome shop and awesome owner. Great selection of locally hand dyed yarn as well as a few manufactured yarns.
Very cute shop, super nice owners, high quality yarns!
Amazing shop with great selection of yarn, hooks stitch markers, vintage bags and jewelry!!
What a wonderful experience! Cassie at the Yarn Shoppe sent me a personal message about including an extra skein of free yarn. She even wrote a handwritten birthday note for my friend to include with the purchase. And all of this happened promptly. Though I dont live in Denver, it really felt like a familiar, local-scale experience. Thank you, Yarn Shoppe!
Such a great store! The owner is friendly and helpful, and theres a nice collection of yarn, supplies, and vintage clothing and accessories. Its definitely worth going!
We had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a nice selection of both comercial and hand spun yarns!
Best customer service!! Adorable shop in a historic building! Traveling through Denver and got what I needed! Highly recommend this shop!!
Came to visit my cousin from out of town and decided to take a look at a few yarn shops in town. First one visited was nice but felt uneasy as I was constantly being watched as I browsed.Came to Cassie’s shop and so unbelievably happy that we did. Though she was already closing up shop she allowed us the time to visit, browse, and buy.Cassie was amazing and so hospitable! We talked about our crafts, shared pictures, and she was so motivating! If you’re in town I highly recommend you to make a visit to The Yarn Shoppe. The customer service alone will make you smile and keep you going back for more.I’m already looking forward to making another visit next time I’m in town.
I ordered online from the Yarn Shoppe and I was so pleased with my experience. The owner of this store was very helpful to me as I am a beginner. She helped me finish a project over the phone as well as offer advice for my next project. Fast shipping and great customer service! I will be back at the online store soon!
Just stopped in to buy some yarn for a pair of socks I was planning to make. The shop yarn was absolutely perfect for the color scheme I had in mind and the owner was so kind and helpful! Thank you so much! 🧶💖
This shop is so cute! I do not knit or crochet but wanted to buy yarn as a Christmas gift. CAB was so helpful and informative. I loved her hand dyed yarns! I might start knitting just so I can go back to her store!
The place is inside an old office building so it was a little hard to find. Other than that the store is nice with a good selection of yarn and the woman working there was very helpful.
Great service and products! Definitely going to support this business for all my knitting needs
I’m here from out of town, staying downtown, and Cassandra’s shop is beautiful!! So much style and character, with lovely hand dyed yarns! I had to splurge, with the beautiful textures and colors available. I’ll be back! Thank you, Cassandra!
Went here to buy supplies for my new knitting hobby and the Yarn Shoppe set me up with everything I needed! So helpful and sweet - and a great location. Can’t wait to visit again after I try my hand at this new project.
Cassie is delightful. The yarns are beautiful with a wide selection from local providers.
Adorable little shop with a great yarn selection!
If your visiting and want to obtain some local yarn this is the place. Ms.CAB was very friendly and her yarn selection was outstanding. It was easy to fall in love with almost every ball, especially since it was well priced. I cant wait to follow along with her YouTube vids. She does weekend crochet get aways which Im totally going to look into. Visiting her shop was everything I hopped for and more.Id recommend her shop to everyone.
Cassie was very helpful. Shop was full of treasures!
Had a great time at this eclectic store a couple of years back... took lots of considering to choose between all the lovely yarns! They knitted up beautifully and I would not hesitate to recommend this little gem of a place.
This little gem of a shop is in the center of town and owner CAB is knowledgeable and welcoming. She has a lovely assortment of yarns and quality is tops, with unique natural, local yarns as well as bright acrylics. Our knitting group will be going back to enjoy buying soft wool and variegated yarns for our projects.
My wife, daughter, and I recently took a beginner knitting class at the Yarn Shoppe and it was awesome. With Shiloh as our teacher, we quickly progressed from casting on to knit stitching. She was patient and wasn’t bothered by our drops and pickups. Cassie, the owner, was incredibly warm and really made this an outing to remember. If you’re looking to take a class or pick up amazing yarn, this is the place for you! We will definitely be back because I now know that I need a knit bow tie.
Wonderful little yarn shop downtown with so much more than just yarn. Cassie was so helpful finding the right pattern and yarn to suit my needs. Highly recommended. Please support our local black owned businesses!!!
Loved the variety of yarns available!! #shoplocal
Fiber oasis in the city! Some days you just need a little fiber fix during the day. I love that it is in a historic building. It is on the fourth floor but there is an elevator. I usually take the stairs down because I love the woodwork and the marble floors. The shop has features local spinners, hand-dyed yarns, and some commercial yarns. There is a little something for everyone. The staff is so friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I love that I am greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Also, I have found some wonderful brooches for my knits.
Cassie has a great shop in the heart of Denver. You would never realize the amount of variety of yarn, crochet/knitting supplies and bags that are offered by such a great local shop. She supplies local yarns and a few manufactured yarns. The prices cant be beat anywhere else for the quality of the products at her shop. She even hosts knit/crochet classes if you need trouble with stitches or if wanted to learn. This shop is not to be missed if you knit or crochet!
Great yarn shop right downtown - they carry an amazing selection of beautiful, local yarn. The owner is amazingly friendly and helpful. Stop in on your lunch break! The shop is on the fourth floor of the building, just take the elevator up and youre there. Was able to snag some gorgeous yarn and roving for a weaving project Im working on.
This is a very fun little yarn shop. Great selection of local and manufacturers’s yarns. There are amazing vintage items as well. Cassie was extremely helpful and hospitable to me and my little Yorkie companions. I am visiting and plan to come back the next time I’m in town. I found several different yarns for many projects. I even got some of Cassie’s hand dyed yarns. I highly recommend this yarn spot.
Cassandra was so lovely! Visiting from out of town and the Yarn Shoppe was wonderful! Cassandra was so helpful! She gave me great suggestions for my project! Great selection of really fun and great Yarn, loved all the hand dyed yarn! Will definitely visit again!
Great selection of locally dyed yarns at competitive prices! It’s a must stop whenever I visit Denver.
Cute little shop with a large selection of locally dyed/spun yarn. The owner, Cassandra, is super knowledgeable and a delight to chat with!
This is a lovely little shop with a beautiful array of hand dyes and hand spun! The owner was so lovely and helpful and generous. I found exactly what I needed.
This place is a MUST visit! If you truly love yarn, crochet, knitting, a clean organized environment, and a enjoyable time this place needs to be on your bucket list! A true happy place with so many of everything! And Mrs. Cassandra is a true blessing to meet! So sweet and truly loves her customers and what she does!
The Yarn Shoppe is a hidden gem in downtown Denver. It’s a small shop, full of beautiful local, hand made and hand dyed yarns as well as hand made, one of a kind knitted and crochet products.Cassie is a lovely host as well, and she’ll guide you through the variety of products she has to offer.
Cassie helped my mom and I pick out yarn to make a hat for my daughter. She was very kind and even found us a pattern! The shop is definitely worth visiting in this historic building right off of 16th st.
Fun little yarn shop and the owner Cassandra was great and super friendly. Besides local hand dyed yarn I bought a really cute felted clutch. Im not into vintage clothes, handbags and jewelry but I could be after see what she had. A denver must visit
Great selection of yarn and very friendly owner! She helped me pick out the perfect set of yarns for a beginner blanket, thanks!
Cute little yarn shop with the friendliest owner! Im so glad I took advantage of visiting while I was in town for work. Went home with some beautiful locally made yarn. I will absolutely be stopping by next time Im in town!
I had an awesome experience there when I came in with my family! Cassandra was extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about helping me decide what I wanted to make with the yarn I chose out. Will definitely be coming back next time I go to Denver!
Cassie was very welcoming and informative! Great lil shop for local yarn.
I had 2 knitting lessons with Ashley. She was great to work with. The shop has some very lovely yarn and other products for purchase. Cute place.
What a great yarn shop! While traveling I just had to visit this yarn shop as I do everywhere I go. Cassandra, the owner was so pleasant and helpful. Small, but cozy, it was a delight to visit and shop. I will make sure to return when I come back to Denver. Best kept secret.
I bought two skeins of hand spun local yarn, and I love it! When I travel I like to get yarns I cant get anywhere else, and these are perfect! Thank you!
A lovely little yarn store thats worth looking for! Its in the Colorado Building on the 4th floor. The staff is friendly and they have a great selection of local hand dyed yarn, along with commercial brands.
I was visiting Denver for a convention and was lucky enough to come upon this quaint shop near my hotel. I am not a knitter myself so I cannot speak to the knitting and yarn items but I was drawn to the store from the items in the window. I opened the door and was greeted by the lovely Cassandra who made me and partner feel right at home. In addition to yarn, there are unique accessories (jewelry, purses, scarves) as well as consignment clothing. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in downtown Denver.
This yarn shop is a gem! The environment is cozy and welcoming. The yarn and handmade crafts are beautiful. Looking for a gift? You will find it here. This is my favorite place to shop for yarn.
First let me say that the owner was lovely and very friendly and warm and welcoming. But - as a yarn store, very disappointing. Very limited selection of yarn - mostly skeins of their own hand dyed but nothing very special and honestly kind of pricey. The commercial yarn was a small section and looked to be just KnitPicks. The store is extremely small and half of it is vintage accessories (the store is in an office building so its also hard to find if you dont know that). I did buy yarn here because it was so awkwardly small and she was so friendly that I felt I had to buy something. I ended up with two small skeins of worsted, undyed yarn.I wouldnt recommend nor would I go back. I feel bad writing this as she was so nice but I wish someone had written this for me so I would not have gone. I gave two stars because she was so nice.
Beautiful shoppe. Lovely owner and a nice selection of local yarns.
This shop is amazing. Great selection. Great customer service. The owner has an extensive selection of local yarns, which I was looking for as a souvenir to commemorate my trip to Denver.
Dont let the smaller location fool you, the Yarn Shoppe offers an AMAZING selection of yarn staples along with locally grown, milled and dyed yarns, even alpaca and silk blends! Cassie is wonderfully knowledgeable about the art of crochet, and an amazing teacher, too! Its more like perusing an old friends stash than shopping.
Cab was friendly and helpful!! A wonderful sweet shop - excellent find!
Take time to visit this shop. Lovely.
Great little shop! The yarn is beautiful, and I really appreciated the help I got picking out my yarn!
LOVE !!!! This store always has what I’m in need of! Wether it’s their hand dyed yarns or felted clutch bags! The customer service is outstanding. Can’t wait to come back
Visited this shop while in Denver for a few days. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming. The selection was well curated with plenty of locally dyed and handspun yarns. Cant wait to go back next time Im in town!
I have been a customer of this store for the last 2-3years and have found Cassie to always be very helpful with identifying yarns for me to try for a variety of projects. As someone who has knit on and off for years and recently started crocheting, Ive especially appreciated the tips she has provided for techniques to try as Im working on new projects. So, beyond a great and unique selection of yarn and related products, I highly recommend this store for the great camaraderie and advice!
Very sweet shop with a nice selection of local yarns. The owner Cassie was especially sweet and helpful. Had a nice time here!
This is a small yarn store, but they have a great selection of local handspun! The couple running the place are very helpful and friendly! It was a very pleasant shopping experience and I got some great yarn out of it.
So cute and fun! Their new location is beautiful. Be sure to check this place out!
Very friendly, beautiful yarns. Love this place.
Take the elevator to fourth floor. It’s a cute little shop. Got 4 skeins and pattern to make summer shall.
Best yarn botique in town! Cassandra, the owner, is very knowledgeable when it comes to her craft. She provides an amazing customer experience. She treats each patron like a friend instead of a customer. I will not shop anywhere else...ever.
A hidden treasure in downtown Denver. Beautiful yarns, delightful and very helpful shop owner.
Back in Denver, just completed the WIP I brought with me. CAB was very helpful in setting me up with a new project, beautiful yarn, needles and a pattern. Your shop is lovely. Thank you for guidance and good luck with the Yarn Crawl!
Cassie was so sweet to my son and I today and everything in her shop was beautiful. She was so helpful and I cant wait to learn how to knit so I can come in more often!
Very helpful and lovely to chat with. She also told me about the interesting art exhibit upstairs!
Casandra is a amazing person. Great customer service and prices.
The new 4th floor location is airy and elegant! Local yarns include the owners own hand-dyed in fabulously creative colorways and yummy Colorado alpaca, side by side with a well selected collection of brand yarns. The owner, Cassie, is very friendly and has given me excellent tips. Location near the 16th St Mall Mallride stop for California, or an easy walk from convention hotels - dont miss it if you are coming to downtown Denver! Bonus - bring your retail therapy friends to browse the beautifully curated selection of vintage accessories!
Walk up to the door on California St. Call the number on the door. Take the elevator up to the 4th floor. Enter the bright, cozy, yarn shop. Talk to the nice, friendly, and helpful owner. Examine the yarn. I like the natural, undyed stuff. Buy yarn, probably too much. Leave while thinking about coming back to check out the hand-dyed yarns.Verdict: A great little yarn shoppe downtown Denver just off of 16th St. A modest selection of really cool, interesting yarns. Some of them, local, some spun in the shop!
Wonderful little yarn shop fantastic hand spun and dyed yarns, as well as more affordable options. Lovely experience would recommend!!
Superb Customer Service Thank You Cassandra! Such a blessing
Great selection of gorgeous hand-dyed and hand-spun yarn. Go up to the 4th floor to find this gem!
I stopped by the yarn shoppe in Denver today. It had some unique hand dyed yarns, truly beautiful.
Such a relaxing and calming place to work on my knitting.
Extremely small selection of yarn. However they do have knitpicks bravo which was cool to see in person. Local spun available, but not a traditional lys if thats what your looking for. Friendly staff.
Great little place to stop in for a special skein or two (or three) of locally sourced and locally dyed yarn. Right in the downtown area.
Just learned of this shop, can’t wait to visit. The window at night looks so inviting and reminds me of my time living near Oxford, England.
This is a lovely shop! I was greeted by the friendliest staff! Fiber artists - this is the place to visit!
Cassie the owner has been so amazing! She has provided me with knowledge and how to grow my business!
Small shop with good variety and nice owner.
This place is not worth going to! The small selection of yarn was terrible and of poor quality...I could easily get many of the same brand at a big box store and pay 25% of the price. Furthermore, most did not have more than 3 skiens of anything they did have...which is a huge no no!
Spectacular fibers including roving for spinners by local fiber artisans!
Im like 80% sure the positive reviews here are fake. This is the worst yarn shop in Denver, take it from a local.
Yarn where you need it. Its on the Fourth floor at 1615 California Street.
