A very fun stop if you are in the LoDo area of Denver! We were going to have brunch at a restaurant in Union Station and loved that there was a coffee shop nearby while we waited. I ordered the Blender Caramel Cold Brew and my friend had the Vietnamese Coffee. Both were wonderful! Staff was friendly and it was fun to take a walk through Union Station. I will return next time I’m in Denver!
Quick central coffee stop, when you are on the way to a train, a tour, or just need a quick caffeine boost to finish your day.☕ Coffee was really good, not my favorite, but worked well on short notice.Reason this is a 4 and not a 5: The food was average; good, but not great. It was more about such a quaint union station spot.
Line moved fast on a busy Friday morning. The latte was very good, almond croissant and drip coffee were just ok. Nice outdoor seating area.
I love pig train. I often stop in and grab cold brew, a keto box, and occasionally a kombucha. All very good. I keep coming back because the staff is awesome and I enjoy hanging out in Union Station and people watching for a bit in between meetings...
Really cute location, but the coffee is bitter even on light roast. Get anything but coffee, and it’s great.
I go to this coffee shop every morning to buy a cup of coffee. I enjoy their coffee since its freshly brewed, plus they have freshly baked pie every morning, which I adore. This house is so warm and inviting. It was quite soothing and peaceful. The barista did a fantastic job creating wonderful coffee.
Worst iced vanilla latte I have ever had. It was watered down, didnt have any coffee or vanilla flavoring. Ive been here twice and the drink quality were bad both times. There are better coffee shops less than 5 min walk away like Kaffe Landskap
Delicious coffee, unique environment, pleasant experience! The good: Surrounded by the bustle of Union Station, Pigtrain Coffee Company is a welcome segue to the outside world. I ordered a latte and a brownie and took a look around. They have shelves with fun little souveniers from their shop and union station. I loved the open atmosphere. One unique touch which I loved, was that they have creamers on tap!The latte was delicious, as was the brownie. I relished the experience as I walked straight outside and got on with my day.The bad: The indoor seating is limited. If you want a lot of peace and quiet this may not be the best place for you as quite a lot of foot traffic can pass through the coffee shop.Summary: I highly recommend giving this coffee shop a try - I think youll quite enjoy it!
Great vibe and location, perfect for a weekend visit and stroll around the area or a quick pickup if you are taking a train. Recommend!
Never had a bad drink from this place. The nitro is smooth and delicious and my wife loves the honey lavender latte iced.
Great Latte! This was a nice little surprise while exploring LODO in Denver. While the location within Union Station isnt a very relaxing locale, the ample and comfortable seating in the main area right outside was great for sitting and people watching. The drinks were carefully made, and the brownie purchased to enjoy with it was decadent!
I like this place, I love coffee and I love Union Station. Its a win win win.
Dont order the nitro cold brew. Theyll serve you a regular iced coffee and then gaslight you when you try to return it. On the plus side, the iced coffee that they tried to tell me was nitro tasted ok.
We came to Pigtrain off the train on a 12-hour layover in Denver on our way back from SLC, as my wife wanted some coffee to recover from the red-eye flight in.According to her, the coffee was delicious, perhaps the most flavorful coffee that she has had in a long time. Hints of honey and hazelnut (local) compliment the fresh coffee beans, and the presentation was quite attractive as well. The public area where we consumed the beverage was less pleasant, unfortunately. As soon as we sat to enjoy the beverage, we were approached by a security guard who (politely I will note) informed me that I needed to remove my feet from the table and that my wife was not allowed to lay down (my wife had positioned herself horizontally along the couch to face me...) Not a big deal, but if I am paying upwards of $6 for a cup of coffee, I feel that the space to enjoy that coffee on my own terms (within reason) should come along with.
This place always makes the best latte in the world! I wish they had other locations with easier parking but good job on the consistency, always tastes amazing.
They charge you a 15% service fee but dont tell you. There is a notice posted, but its out-of-the-way, so I assume the owners do not want you to see it. On top of that, the payment machine asks you for additional gratuity. Probably because the owners take 1/3 of the service fee for themselves.Thank you, greedy owners! Youve motivated me to buy a coffee thermos so I can skip your deceptive chargesEdit: If you want to avoid confusion raise your prices and drop this tacky fee. Or go ahead and do the service fee, let each customer know, and take the gratuity jar off the counter and take it off the payment option. Your choice to tack on a service fee without clearly explaining it to me when I make my purchase is deceptive, so save the semantics for someone who is easier to manipulate. I dont have an obligation as a customer to search your counter for possible additional fees that are added to my check for a purchase of drip coffee--that I have to pour the cream into myself.
Come here for the coffee but that’s it. Had a breakfast sandwich that was with a mushy English muffin, a cold pre-cooked egg and practically uncooked bacon which was ridiculously over priced. Very disappointed.
The best latte I’ve had in Denver! Don’t bother going to dunkin or starbucks.
Delicious coffee and tasty breakfast food and pastries.
The prices are dishonest. A service fee is added. This is separate from the expected gratuity. The breakfast burrito is also very small
Great little stop inside Union Station. The prices are what you would expect from a boutique-y type coffee shop. I had a small iced matcha latte for $4.55 and my husband had a medium vanilla latte. His latte had pretty artwork on top. Both were tasty! We enjoyed our beverages on the covered patio outside. We had a lovely visit.
Coolest place to hang out at the Union Station for a cup of Joe.
Great local cupa Jo
Ive been dreaming about the Blended Caramel Cold Brew for four days. lolI explored a bit of Denver for just a few hours during a 7 hour airport layover. Alone, Union Station is an epic tourist spot, but the coffee just made everything 10 times better. Ive been telling everyone about it ever since. Cant wait to come back!
Great place to relax, people watch, eat good food or all the above. looking forward to coming back with my friends. the prices are good for what you get. i can see why they have so many reviews.
Cozy little coffee shop inside Union Station, my favorite spot to walk to next door to where I live. Staff here is really friendly, coffee is great, and their breakfast sammies and burritos are delicious.
Mandatory tips blamed on COVID at one of the most highly trafficked points in the city... Sure. Why dont you just pay your employees a fair wage and stop making excuses.
Honestly unsure why this is rated so highly. Amazing service but the coffee falls flat. No matter what I have tried, it has been sour and not pleasant. I’m not sure what coffee that brew there but it tasted like sour milk.
Great light roast. Food options are just above average.
Delicious light roast coffee, friendly and helpful barista
Masks are done, business is booming. When will your bar seating, empanadas, and later hours be back?
Great prices and great staff! Oh, good coffee too is just a plus
This place has amazing coffee, bakery items, and super friendly baristas. They have both iced and hot coffee drinks including lattes, french press, drip, pour over, nitro cold brew coffee on tap. They have a comfortable coffee bar to sit at where you can watch the baristas prepare drinks. There is also a sitting area outside with shade and tables with chairs where you can watch kids play with the water sprinklers during the summer. Or you can grab your coffee and hang out in Union Station itself. They also make affogato using ice cream from the Milkbox ice cream shop next door. Affogato is a scoop of ice cream with a shot if espresso coffee poured on top. Pigtrain makes the best affogato in Colorado!Pigtrain is one of the best coffee shops in Denver. They are inside Union Station where there are often events going on inside&outside. And there are other places to get food or drinks literately within 50 feet or 10 feet. Pigtrain is also fast, so if you are in a hurry then they got your back. Pigtrain has great coffee, great atmosphere and good people working there. Check them out!
Decent coffee shop. Would recommend if you’re around the station.
Love this place part of my morning routine!
Killed some time here with a Caramel Latte and. Breakfast sandwich. 5$ caramel latte was delicious! Service was good, but then I dont expect anyone to kiss my ring when I order a cup of coffee.
Quick, good, lots of selection, friendly people. The train station needs more outdoor maps with directions to this hip coffee 🍵 joint because the Google map 🗺 directions went haywire. They have food, but nothing kosher to my recollection. Loud, lot of people. Theres a dining area inside and out. There may have been Wi-Fi but I wasnt there long enough. Saw people on their laptops. The hotel 🏩 gives out free Wi-Fi though. Close enough to the train 🚉 station to run in for a quick cup of coffee.
Yummy coffee. Just loved the mocha, they got it right! Good prices as well. This is part of the train metro station in Denver. Right outside where the water fall area is, perfect for parents to get coffee and let the kiddos play on the water!
First off, I only write reviews for either great experiences or horrible experiences. We got our drinks fairly quickly - but that’s the only positive thing. The drinks tasted terrible. I had an iced dirty chai tea and it tasted AWFUL. I’ve had dirty iced chais plenty of times, and it tasted like trash. It took 20 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese and the banana walnut bread. The bagel was super old and so hard to chew - it was like chewing rubber. Also the lady who took our order wasn’t nice and she kept forgetting what we had ordered.
Made a great latte. Little strange that they have seating around the bar but you’re not allowed to order from there… had to stand in line to order, then take your seat around the bar. The staff is not very attentive, saw a lot of socializing, and even a staff member who brought their lunch in and left it sitting on the counter eating french fries in between making drinks and working. Not sure if they serve food here but I wouldn’t order based on what I saw. Cool location, nice to have outdoor seating when the weather is good.
The coffee is good. The location is charming and fun to experience. Customer service is okay and can be rude. I understand they see lots of people come through the coffee shop, but your appearance is key to how your treated. When dressed up nicely, customer service is fine. When your dressed more casual (hat and very little makeup), service is terrible. I would think the location would bring lots of diverse people to buy coffee, so all customers would be valued. Not my experience. Ive personally experienced it both ways. If you go often, try dressing up and then dressing down as an experiment and youll understand my review. There are plenty of other coffee places to choose from that have better customer service. If you prefer your surroundings over service, this would be your place!
A yummy spot, but soooo expensive. $20 for a latte & a breakfast sandwich.
Stopped by on a busy Saturday morning and ordered two adult coffee drinks. Somehow in the chaos they were overlooked. Staff went out of their way to correct the issue and I really appreciated their kindness. The coffee was fantastic! Definitely worth the wait.
Darkside coffee is the best extra dark roast in the world (you gotta drink it black though like a real human doing). Also they have amazing dark chocolate macaroons (coconut haystacks). I highly love and recommend this place.
Really Retro feel here! ladies were very busy as this is a huge hub for people getting off the train like me from the airport. Coffee was phenomenal and atmosphere was very hipster! If you catch them in the right time right across the hallway within the same building is an ice cream parlor! Thats the only sad thing about this review is that it was not open. Now go enjoy
When I spend $5 On a cup of coffee I appreciate the friendly and fast service of Pigtrain Coffee. I always order and find a seat at the side bar where I can enjoy watching the artistry of the Bistros and catch up on my cell phone. Set in the nostalgic setting of Union Station the staff there always make me feel special and kick my day off to a good start.
Love this place! Come every time I’m downtown (:
Very whimsical and fun little coffee shop in Denvers Union Station. There are lots of souvenirs and fun gifts if you happen to be traveling and need something for family or friends. The atmosphere is open and airy and the prices are in line with the local coffee outlets. You will enjoy your stop!
Great coffee at a reasonable price
They have good coffee and an entire menu of drinks but they only make lattes, dont order a cappuccino unless you want a latte. This had happened several times to me so i finally said something today and they told me sorry we already made it. So if you plan on paying $6 for a drink to order, order a latte...🙄
Great location. Average coffee shop. Some nice baked goods.
Neil Young’s “Vampire Blues” and the aroma of fresh-roasted coffee. What more can you ask for at 6 am on a Monday? Oh, the brewed coffee was good too
This place has delicious coffee, as they serve Conscious Coffee, which is fair trade and organic. However, they I have to stop going to this place. My order has been wrong multiple times, the service at the counter is friendly, but no one is apologetic for getting orders wrong. The service is inconsistent. Unfortunate that such delicious coffee is associated with a poorly run business. Great location and atmosphere.
They have wonderful coffee and great customer service.. I love there location in Union Station. They have a nice patio as well.
The atmosphere is so great! I love how all the shops are intertwined. The coffee was good and the employees were very friendly.
Best coffee ever! I have been going here since it opened and have never been disappointed in the service or the quality of their drinks and the pastries are amazing too! The staff have always been friendly always willing to make your experience the best one ever. Have a special request, they got that handled too!
What can you say? This place serves its exact purpose as the coffee shop in Union Station...great coffee in a beautiful, well-staffed space that moves a line quickly. The baristas are as friendly as they need to be, but really the mission is to get caffeine and make sure you don’t miss your bus—and I didn’t (despite REALLY pushing it time wise). I’ve passed on the donuts so far, but they look incredible and I don’t know how much longer I’d be able to walk away without one.
This is a great location. They have great cappuccinos and a wonderful selection. The cappuccinos are wonderful.
This place has the best lattes! They have mastered the art of steamed milk making each sip an explosion of flavor in your mouth. They have great breakfast options, including burritos (veggie option) and empanadas. Grab an go protein boxes (similar to Starbucks) are a convenient lunch option making this your one stop at Union station for food and caffeine. And best of all the employees are super friendly and nice
Walked in at 10:58 for an espresso...was told they are closed even though the doors, windows, passageways are all open. I’m sure they have a fine product but it’s average customer service to SERVE if your place of business is open. Poor impression.
Honestly the best matcha latte in the whole city. (Made with coconut milk!) Friendly service, quick, and great drip coffee too. Love this spot.
Place was very busy and only two workers. I asked for a decaf brew but they were out so I got a decaf Americano, it was delicious.
This has been my favorite latte in Denver since I moved here 5 years ago. It’s always a treat for me to come by Pigtrain when I’m traveling.
Staff is cheerful and friendly and clearly morning people- which always makes morning coffee 100x better!
Union Station used to be drab, seedy, empty, and, frankly, a bit scary. Now its a vibrant, lively, hip, busy, and safe place. Best of all, theres great coffee at Pigtrain Coffee. Well, my mocha was excellent, for sure. Great place to grab a cup of coffee and a snack before you board the new light rail train to the airport. Your trip will be much more enjoyable with a Pigtrain coffee.
Everything there is delicious! I take a 12 min the train ride just to get a latte! The staff is super friendly as well. It is hands down the best we have been to in Colorado.
I went in about 5 pm on a Friday with the looming prospect of a 7-9 hour drive ahead of me and figured Id get something to help keep me awake. I ordered something with a medically inadvisable amount of caffeine in it and hoped for the best.Great Scott Marty did they deliver.I rolled into my destination at 7 am having stayed wide awake the entire trip and wondering whether or not Id ever need to sleep again. I think I may have been able to see the future at some point.5/5, 10/10 worth every cent.
What a gem. The variety of beverages coupled with an amazing atmosphere and superb staff
Got my order wrong and just didnt make it for some reason. Didnt apologize when j asked after it at the counter. Ended up paying $4.80 (plus tip) for a small brewed coffee with a squirt of vanilla in it and still barely made the train. Hard pass next time.
