The coffee and quiche was delicious and they have lots of great menu options. The level of service could improved, the barista was pretty curt with me and seemed to be annoyed.
The owners are so sweet and the espresso is AMAZING. The food is also delicious and made by the owner! We come here all the time because we love nearby and cannot recommend Cafe Zuri enough.
This place is fantastic! There coffee is always on point, and the place is really small, so their always ready for good and personal service. If you want to get some great breakfast and great service, theyre isnt a better place to go, and make sure to talk to Cali. She is excellent and very knowledgeable!
The owners and staff are all super friendly, the food and drinks always taste amazing. I like the fact that it’s intended as a social space, and the atmosphere promotes it. This small business deserves the support.
I love the cozy vibe and Swiss decor of the cafe! Its definitely quaint with just a handful of two-chaired tables and three bar stools. My latte was great and the apple strudel was good with it not being too sweet. Didnt have a quiche but in my time here they seem like theyre in high demand. I spoke with the owners for a while and theyre helpful and courteous. There is a laptop ban because folks would come in and use the table space for many hours at a time after buying only one drink, and also it allows for more authentic connections. It sounds like theres a lot of long time locals invested in the shop, so if youre looking for a local favorite this seems to be one!
Found this cafe when we were in search of breakfast and we were so appreciative to find some of the best quiche we’ve ever had, authentic French croissants, and fantastic coffee (love the oat milk latte). Very friendly neighborhood owners. Reminds me of a warm, neighborhood cafe that you’d find in Europe. Love the no laptop policy!
Take a friend, and make some new friends. Very cool.
Love this place. Coffee is delicious and the pastries too! Love all the goodies that you can find inside. Tomas and the rest of the staff are always friendly.
These are the best pastries in all of the land. Every choice is a good one.
This place is the best! Great coffee, friendly people, cute atmosphere. Love stopping here for morning coffee and a pastry.
The coffee is tasty at Café Zuri, and they serve up some good boozy coffee drinks - but don’t bring your computer, even when there are no customers. It is a small (only five two-top tables) place so I understand the “no perch” policy, but for this reason it is a far less desirable spot than other offerings in the area.
Delicious coffee, yummy pastry and quick service

Cute little shop with snacks and pastries. I didnt try any of the baked goods but they looked fantastic. Very lovely owner.
Delicious and friendly staff. They didnt have any outdoor seating available when we went which was a bummer, but food and drink were recommendable.
I’ve been looking for the perfect chai latte in Denver. Cafe Zuri delivered! You also have to try the almond croissant. I already want another one.
Culturally inclusive and cozy space. I felt very welcomed. I just got a latte but they had pastries and quiche that looked awesome!Yes, they do have a no laptop policy but they have newspapers and it’s cute that they encourage human interaction as opposed to living on screens. I felt very connected to it very quickly and wish I lived in town so I could support them more!!
I enjoyed the atmosphere as it was quiet and relaxing. The staff was also polite and helpful. I was expecting the no computer rule so that was not an issue or surprising. However, I was not impressed with the mocha or the quiche especially considering the price. I might give it another go in the future.
A small and intimate place with excellent offerings and pastry. Owner is meticulous in his service and preparations. The place is a wonder of space utilization and ambience. A gem in the community. Don’t bring your laptop and bury yourself in the morass of more work. This place is made to soothe and relax.
This place is super cozy and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly! I would recommend the macaroons and the quiches are extraordinary. This is one of my favorite places I’ve been to in Denver.
Good coffee. EXTREMELY slow.
Quaint tiny cafe. Really friendly staff. Great for grab and go. Dont go if you have a stroller as there are a few steep steps to get in and the place is so narrow you cannot put it anywhere without blocking the corridor.
I cannot express how fabulous this local business is. It may be on the smaller side but WOW was the coffee, quiche, and pastries outstanding! as well was the service and conversation with the owner! They may have a no lap top rule, that seems to upset people, but I think its great! I would have missed out on such a wonderful conversation (and human) had my eyes been glued to a computer. Trust me Cafe Zuri will not disappoint! We will definitely be back!
Wonderful, cozy and bright space to drink good coffee and have delicious baked goods! The staff is friendly and skilled at making drinks with high quality ingredients! Thanks for keeping it local and always a pleasure to support local small businesses 🙂
Awesome espresso and pastries, everyone was so kind and quick here. New favorite spot :)
This is the coolest small coffee shop Ive ever been to. Serves alcohol, makes an amazing Irish Coffee. Great Latte. Will definitely be back every time Im in the area!
Favorite coffee shop! The drinks always taste amazing. Friendly staff, so many delicious treats. The chocolate chip cookies are sooo good.
Great coffee and pastries. Friendly atmosphere given current environment.
I love this coffee shop, their coffee is amazing and their pastries taste fantastic (we highly recommend the Carmen cake!). They just also have a no laptop policy, which is totally fine - but should be advertised better on their Google pace so people arent taken by surprise. Thanks for the coffee, guys.
Great service and drink options. We’re looking forward to coming here and hanging out on the patio during the warmer months as well. We’ve also tried some of the pastries and have been really happy with everything we’ve picked.I find it sad that the one star reviews on here are all because of their laptop policy. Having gone to a different coffee shop down the street in which every patron was one to a table and my wife and I left because it was so awkwardly quiet, Zuri’s policy was really refreshing. I get wanting to work remote but in an age where everyone is stuck to a screen instead of talking face-to-face with one another, maybe this type of policy is what we need to help us all get over ourselves and have a real conversation for a change.
Neighborhood spot offers an eclectic mix from around the European wayside as well as stateside offerings. Great collection of photography equipment acts as crown molding and locals will bring up stimulating conversation. Owners are very friendly!
I adore this place, so friendly, incredible coffee and the pastry are to die for!!! Treat yourself
Bari is a very kind and helpful woman who welcomed me so cheerfully! She helped me to select a deliciously enticing cherry strudel which was out of this world amazing! Fresh made daily all of their products are to die for! My new favorite spot for coffee thats reasonably priced and breakfast treats from homemade quiche to lemon bars that are sure to keep me coming back! Thank you Cafe Zuri!!! You ROCK!!!!
Dropped in on Mon I think. I see why this place has a lot of positive reviews.
This is a cute place. And so low key. It is refreshing. I love the place, No computers and is a calm place to have a drink and enjoy a quiet conversation:)
Coffee is fine. Policy on no laptops when the establishment is empty seems a little over kill. I understand keeping spaces open for other customers by not staking space with a computer, but part of the reason people go to coffee shops is to work on computers and have a different space (outside of home and the office) to do so. Would’ve been 4-5 stars but the computer policy and the reaction to me beginning to work on my computer left me feeling unwelcome.
The quiche stank and was not very tasty. I suspect it was old. The eclaire was preety good though. They had a nice espresso machine but I didnt try the coffee. Cozy place. Just avoid the quiche..
My all-time favorite cafe in the world. Kind service, amazing coffee, and a European vibe. I love their no computer policy- it makes you actually connect with the people and enjoy the experience of being there.
Potato and Bacon Quiche is my go-to, great coffee as well. Great spot, and the kind of place that makes a neighborhood more than a place to live.
Great food and coffee. The owner is very personable and creates a great atmosphere. PS - my kids are obsessed with the quiche!
I like to go for coffee shops for two reasons: a comfy place to chat with friends or do work on my laptop. This place doesnt allow laptops and has rigid, short backed chairs so it fails as a place for both. I left and went across the street to the cork which was very nice. Im still giving it 4 stars because I understand that they are targeting a very specific coffee aficionado crowd, so to someone else this could be a great place.
Really cute place with a Swiss themeNote the no laptop policy. Just enjoy your coffee and food. (:
Great coffee every single day. Tomas and Marianna never disappoint. We always have a wonderful experience here. Its our Cheers place and we return again and again. Try the Becherovka!
Great little coffee shop. The owner was very responsive to questions and the breakfast cheese cake is amazing.
Great family-owned cafe, with a an awesome community atmosphere. Refreshingly, no laptops allowed, bringing you back to a simpler time, with a much more social vibe. Love this place! Great coffee too
Great coffee and prices
My favorite coffee shop!!!!!!!! Love all the people that work there!!! Super friendly place! Very tasty pastries! Also you can get an “adult” drink there. You can’t use your laptop there, but you are welcome to enjoy your coffee/drink and meet with friends!!
Best coffee in town. Intimate atmosphere. Their Thursday, and Friday night events have wonderful food, drinks and company. The only bad reviews are the ones who want a place to go stare at a screen all day. This isnt that kind of place! Expect to feel like a part of your community by actually talking to people.
Quick in and out coffee + pastries. Friendly staff and good food + drink. They offer a variety of options that seem to cater to most people. Definitely worth a stop in!
This shop is small but big on quality. The couple that runs the place is very sweet and the drinks they make are fantastic! Definitely will be coming back!
Good coffee and tea as well as danishes. My only complaint is that they dont allow laptops. I wanted to give them a 4 because that was an issue for me but Im assuming no laptops is part of the attraction and I cant fault them for my preferences. Finding parking was difficult in the morning but easier in the afternoon.
Very quaint place with superb quiche and pastries served with divine coffee. Family run and decorated with relics from the Cheq Republic
The best coffee options!
Wonderful neighborhood gathering place. A unique gem in The Highlands! Great coffee, pastries and conversation instead of looking at people staring at screens.
Tiny bakery with a small selection of tasty items. The tomato mozzarella quiche was perfect for breakfast and the blueberry muffin a perfect sweet treat.
This our favorite coffee shop in the Highlands, hands down. Great coffee and treats and refreshingly free from computers. The owners are so sweet and you can always find an interesting conversation there. Its got an old-school atmosphere in that people--even strangers!--still talk to each other and converse about the world.
Not only can you get great coffee here- it is a rare place where you can get a warm community feel. My daughter often asks if we can go to the “orange coffee shop” because she too loves that!
Today is my daughters birthday and her name is you guessed it Zurie! So this cafe is special to us and will always be. But aside from the name the service, food and coffee is amazing here. It is a family business and I strongly support that how often do you show up somewhere and get to talk to the actual owner.
It would be nice if their no laptop policy was communicated before you bought a drink. Or on the website. No problem with the quality of drinks or politeness of individual who informed me of policy.
Best place for coffee in the Highlands! Must go!
The pastries are to DIE for. The coffee was wonderful. Above all the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everything was VERY reasonably priced for its high quality.
A great spot. Good local business with great staff. What really makes this place the best is their ban on laptops. If you want to stare at a screen and drink coffee go to the invasive Seattle store, if you want real coffee and good conversation, go to Zuri.
The folks here are spectacularly nice, the coffee and pastries are excellent. Just the right size to engage in conversations with your neighbor.
Awesome place for great coffee, delicious quiche and pastries with a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Tomasch is very welcoming. We stop in every time we visit!
Extremely friendly owners, comfortable seating in a warm atmosphere exposed brick walls and a beautiful display of freshly baked pastries and quiches. Best mocha I have had in years! Highly recommend visiting!!!
Tomasz is top notch. Great pastries. European vibe brings a funkiness. No laptop squatters
Great staff, the coffee was excellent.
I have lived in the Highlands neighborhood for eight years, and recently came across Cafe Zuri while walking my dog. I like the quiet local feel of this coffee shop. The owner is very friendly and makes every drink himself. They have almond milk! I prefer almond milk lattes and usually end up making them at home or settling for skim milk since it is rare to find a shop where this is offered. Ive been there four times just this week. My husband had the iced chai and loved it. The quiche is excellent - I had mushroom and spinach. The pastries are so fresh. I havent seen pastries like this since I studied abroad in Paris. Im happy that I have a fun, delicious neighborhood coffee shop to walk to in the morning!
I love this Coffee Shop! Best in Denver. Meet nice people in a great atmosphere. Coffee and pastries taste very good. And big variety and European pastries. Feels like Home.
I know a lot of people are annoyed by their no laptops policy, but I get why they do that and its never bothered me that much. It took me years to finally try this place and Im sorry I waited so long. They have the best quiche and other baked good. The coffee is fine (I think Novo down the street is better) but the baked goods are more than just good, they are delish. The staff is nice and the ambiance is cute.
Cafe Zuri is one of the newest and best Highlands additions! Great service, great drinks, tasty pastries, and open/airy atmosphere. Having lived in the neighborhood for several years, the 32nd/Lowell section of the Highlands needed a consistent, quality place to grab coffee and a breakfast bite to go (or stay!) and now we have it.I highly suggest you stop in!
Good coffee. Cute little space. Mom and Pop vibe.
Great food and great staff!
Great place with great coffee and a wonderful staff!
I will NEVER go back! Talk about rude, they literally PUSHED me out the door because I checked my phone. Sorry its -2 degrees this morning and I wanted to wait in your store till my Uber showed up. IF YOU DONT LIKE PHONES PUT A DANG NOTE UP NEXT TO YOUR NO LAPTOPS SIGN! ITS 2019 PEOPLE!!!UPDATE: the owners prefer to argue on google reviews instead of saying IM SORRY!!! Really unbelievably rude. Just WOW.
This is a great little local coffee shop with super friendly service.
Great coffee and pastries. Very cordial owners. I love going there. Thanks Jerry & Frank.
I dont often feel strongly enough about a place to leave a review, but this place sure deserves it. I went there for the first time with my dog, as a stop on our walk that day, and the man was incredibly polite, patient with my indecisiveness, and made my drink with great care and practice. having been a barista for several years, I know how hard it is to find another person to make a drink exactly how I would want it, but he did just that! Also, the outside space was clean and all the people who came by were friendly. The only thing I think new customers should know is that it is a very intimate space - great for individuals or small parties, but maybe too tight for larger groups. For me though, it was great and Ill definitely be back soon with my husband in tow!
I work with my laptop a lot. I support Zuris policy.Very nice staff!
A really great cafe. The drinks are very good. The pastries and quiches are delicious. You have to try the Czech Mule.
Went in there to work since all the other coffee shops on the block were full but they dont allow laptops or tablets, even if they havent sold a cup of coffee all day, and they were rude about it. Not very friendly or welcoming at all. I gave it an extra star since they ran off all their potential customers so it was empty and quiet even though I couldnt stay long due to their no electronics policy.
Such a truly delightful and unique place. I could spend every day here and never get bored
Really cool little cafe. The quiche was really tasty as was the nitro cold brew. I enjoyed both on the small patio while hanging out with my six-month-old. The staff were very friendly and helped me carry my food out while I was holding my son. They also have cocktails and kombucha, as well as assorted pastries that looked delicious.
Great people and yummy pastries! Love the blueberry danish, cant wait to try the quiche! Also I recommend the mocha latte with dark chocolate and white chocolate mixed, amazing!
Coffee is decent but I didnt have a great experience here. I went in on a quiet Thursday morning (there were no other customers) to do some work and bought a latte. I didnt know they were laptop-free until after I bought my latte, when they pointed to a circular sticker on their door, mingled with their other signs. So, I decided to enjoy my drink in quiet, except the owners daughter was sitting next to me, streaming a movie on an iPad on speaker, very loudly. Lame. I left.I like the whole no-laptop idea and think its great to encourage people to communicate or get off their screens. If you genuinely want to do this, then provide some games, magazines, books, etc. Another idea is to have a screen-free happy hour each afternoon or break intermittently throughout the day. Most importantly, apply the rules to yourselves, whatever they are.
Super friendly owner/staff, and its a beautiful little shop. The medium roast coffee and the broccoli cheddar quiche were both excellent, Ill definitely be back to try more!
Very cosy spot to drop in for a quick bite. I had their spinach quiche (which they have a bunch of different kinds of) and an iced chai. I’ll be sure to stop in again. Their pastries looked amazing and I didn’t save room for one!
Cafe Zuri is amazing!!!! Let’s get the no laptop rule out of the way - if all you want to do is sit at a table and work for hours with your one drink, then stop reading. If you’re open to great drinks, European pastries and maybe (but not necessary) making a human connection that day, then read on.The Coda coffee is really tasty: smooth and not overly roasted. They serve a wide range of beverages, including alcohol. If you’ve never tried Becherovka (a Czech herbal liqueur that has a gingery/cinnamony/clove flavor), treat yourself to a Czech Mule or even a shot in your cup of coffee. Yummy! The owners, Tomas and Marianne, are wonderful and the pastries are all European based recipes with quite a few baked by them! Currently, Thurs-Sat they stay open into the evening where you can come enjoy a nice alcoholic beverage in a chill atmosphere. Nothing on their menu is overpriced. If you’re not taking your non-alcoholic beverages and tasty pastries to go, since you’re “unplugged” while in Cafe Zuri, it’s amazing what interesting and wonderful people there are all around you that you normally would not talk to if you’re on your computer. Not only are Tomas and Marianne interesting and absolutely wonderful (hint, don’t let Tomas’ sarcasm throw you), but I’ve met a National Geographic photographer, a videographer who’s been in multiple wars, another photographer (who’s work along with his daughter’s are hanging in the cafe) along with many other wonderful, friendly, interesting people. I always leave there happier and more positive about the world we live in than when I came in!Thanks for doing a local neighborhood coffee shop right, Cafe Zuri!
Delicious cappuccino and homemade pastries. Loved the quiet ambiance filled w inspiration for your next travel!
First time going in here today! Absolutely loved it--super friendly barista, good coffee, and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
