Small coffee shop a little ways into Highlands, tried their signature Palo Santo cappuccino. It definitely added a bit of flavor but it wasnt as strong as I thought it would be, pretty balanced overall. Note that theyre open only till 2pm everyday.
The atmosphere and decor of this place is amazing. I also love that they sell local Denver art/products within their coffee shop. I ordered a warm almond milk matcha latte and a house made breakfast burrito. It was the best matcha latte I’ve ever had in my entire life and the breakfast burrito was tasty too. However, my order took about 20 minutes with one person running the shop and it was really difficult to eat my burrito because the tin foil was sticking to the tortilla and ripping it apart. Pretty sure I accidentally ate a little tin foil too😳 I wouldn’t recommend this place if you need a quick grab and go before work, but would definitely recommend going here if getting coffee with a friend/date. I’ll definitely be back on the weekends!
Lovely coffee shop. Spiced chai is amazing. Nice place to chill and get some studying done.
Good spicy chai and kind staff! Lots of space too
Cute place, we stopped in for breakfast and coffee. The coffee itself isnt anything to write home about but the oatmeal I had was very good. My husband got a breakfast sandwich which he enjoyed. The atmosphere is nice but super quiet. Even though my husband and I were talking to each other we felt we were disturbing everyone around us.So if you are looking for a quiet environment this would be the place for you.
Nice and open space. Great coffee. The young lady working alone was very pleasant and I love the fact that the womens has free tampons which is so kind and considerate and awesome!
Staff was super-nice and drip coffee (medium roast) was very good.
A fantastic local venue for coffee and tea.Black Eye Coffee is a roasting/brewing coffee shop offering espresso drinks, cold brews, iced coffees, tea, and some baked goods. They have free WiFi making it an exceptional place to grab a latte and get to work. If you plan on hunkering down here for a while be sure to come in early; the place tends to be busy!
They serve the coffee a little bit too hot, but I admit it taste good.
Decent coffee, although a bit overpriced for what it is. Also, I like the breakfast burrito. One piece of feedback--its odd that the baristas verbally ask how much/if youd like to tip, as opposed to the customer being able to have the option to enter it themselves; it adds pressure to the interaction and can make it uncomfortable.
Went here while visiting. Iced coffee was so good! We came back the next day to get more 😀
Local coffee shop with breakfast items, coffee, beer and wine. Cool vibe with boho music playing in the background (but isnt too loud for conversation). Definitely a local hotspot for freelancers and the like working on their laptop. I had an avocado open face sandwich and a strong cappuccino. I do wish they had more vegetarian /vegan options and quick to-go sandwiches. Otherwise, glad we went out of our way to check it out. Would come back again....with my laptop! 😜
This place is a great spot for coffee lovers. There is a wide range of coffees available with a tasty range of accompanying slices and cakes. The music is a nice volume as well, youd really feel relaxed, and struggling to hear them talk. They really know how to make one of the very best coffees. The coffee is so full-bodied and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Super cool little coffee shop in a very unique area of Denver. Pour overs were Epic and the lattes were very unique with a vanilla or mocha House made syrup, also unique combinations including bitters in a latte. They also smoke their own bacon. Definitely worth the trip! Staff was super friendly as well and told us about the area.
One of the best coffee shops in Denver! Coffee & staff are amazing!
Visiting this coffee shop is my habit. I love their coffee so much as well as their cakes and pies. All the staves were so friendly and welcoming. They made sure that you will enjoy your coffee time. The place was spaciously clean and neat. The ambiance of the place was so relaxing and cozy Until next time again.
This was really one of the best lattes I have ever had. I also really loved the atmosphere and our barista was really great. There was a line behind us when we left, but this was well worth the wait. I wish I lived in Denver just for this coffee.
Every morning, I drop by at this coffee shop to buy a coffee. I really their coffee very much because its freshly brewed and each morning they had freshly baked pie which I love the most. I love the coziness of this place. It was so relaxing and calming. The barista was really great at making delicious coffee.
The shops super cute tucked away in a little neighborhood. The service is excellent and coffee is great!
Dont worry if its busy, it is worth the wait. i look forward to going back again. it has a cool feel to it. food and atmosphere reminds me of kansas city.
Nice quiet place for coffee, tea, and pastries. Pretty popular, but surprising amount of parking for the area, since you can park on both sides of the street. Bus stop directly across and two spaces for rapid pickup if you order ahead. The pastries seemed to be homemade. My lemon curd Danish was yummy. I was disappointed that decaf coffee wasnt available at 9:00 am, but they did have tea. (I like the taste of coffee, but have to restrict my caffeine.) It was easy to have a conversation and not disturb others having theirs or working, which was refreshing. Staff were busily friendly.
Stopped in for drinks the other morning, and was disappointed to learn that the business owners are not asking customers to wear face masks while inside. The building was full of unmasked people, and I had to take my business elsewhere in order to best protect myself, my family, and my community. Id love to be able to help support small businesses, but not ones who dont care to try to keep the community safe. Will not be back unless they change this policy to adapt to the times.
Had the best almond croissant OF MY LIFE here. Coffee is great too - highly recommend.
Very good coffee! We had Brad Pitt and an affagato, both very good. I wouldnt mind driving back to get this again.
Visited on a thursday. the service was very sociable and kind. this place has a nice atmosphere.
One of the best espresso, cappuccino, and lattes in highland.
Liquid gold with an espresso shot is one of the more coffees I’ve ever had, and I really liked it!
We stopped by on Monday morning before driving back to Kansas City. The barista was very kind, and I had the best matcha latte I’ve ever had in my life. Drank the whole thing in about five minutes.
Definitely one of the best places in the area. The service was very welcoming and sociable.
Came here on a Friday I think. The staff was very sociable and kind.
The place was clean and ambiance was green and fresh. Food and coffee was great! The costumer service is always very welcoming.
I normally dont care for Artisan coffee. This place has it correct the day I visited. I went back and had the breakfast sandwich it was very good.
I loved the atmosphere and the coffee was descent too. However, its more expensive than other cafes that are just as good. I enjoyed coming here but probably wouldnt spend the money again.
Great coffee. A bit overpriced.
Great coffee and croissant 🥐!
The coffee is good.
It was awesome. I love their coffee. It is so goodIt is very tasty. Theyre coffee is so yummy. My husband loved it too. He said it was very very good. I dont go there very often so when I get there coffee it is very good. Our son likes their coffee too. Our daughter doesnt like coffee. My son says it is good to.It is the best coffee ever. I wish we lived there and drank all the coffee we wanted. I wonder what they put in their coffee. The waiter are very nice and respectful.
One of my favorite places in Colorado! Local, awesome, and located in a great area. I almost didn’t review this place because I don’t want people to know about it, but it’s so awesome I do want to share.
Adorable location with some of best coffee in town and superb breakfast. Avocado toast and Acai bowl were delicious. Great service too.
Awesome little spot. The service was genuinely friendly and everything was excellent. If youre in the neighborhood, I highly recommend.
The quintessential small craft coffee joint, Black Eye offers a comfortable place to do any of the staple shop activities. Even while swamped with friends catching up, students frantically studying, and corporate Americans being the perfect little beauracrats they are, Black Eye was calm/cool/collected.Their products are phenomenal, their wifi is strong, and their staff is quick. Check it out!
One of my favorites in Denver. Knowledgeable staff, delicious coffee, and a great atmosphere!
Cute, quiet little neighborhood cafe. Good for getting work done if you are able to get a table. They have daily rotating beans/brews and offer alcoholic mixes; also have beer. Was surprised to be charged extra dollar for only 2 ounces of half-and-half
Dont worry if its busy, it is worth the wait. The staff was friendly and observant. It has a nice atmosphere.
I visited here on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was quiet. A few others were inside on laptops, drinking coffee, but it was very quiet. There was one person working behind the counter, but she was very nice. I just got a simple iced coffee, and it was what youd expect. Nothing more, nothing less. They have a few smaller bites to eat, but I didnt try any food.
Nice little place for a cup or a small bite. I had the acai bowl and wasnt overly impressed but was ok. Also about the same for the hot chocolate. Cute inside and moderately to high priced. More so on the food. Overall decent place and would go to chill out or chat with someone but wouldnt go out of my way for it.
Awesome atmosphere, very comfortable. Delicious coffee and even better avacado toast!! Highly recommend. Easy, close parking on a Sunday.
Nice little coffee shop nestled in the neighborhood. Coffee was good, and the pastries looked good too..only open until 1pm effective 8/1/19, so get there in the morning!
I have only been there once, as it just opened, but I really like it. The two guys working there (Im gussing the owners) we very friendly and even gave me a box of scones to take to my office. Granted, I was the only person there, and they told me they didnt want the scones anyways, but I still felt like they were cool enough to be like that all the time. Also, I got a pour-over, which was delicious and much better than any coffee Ive gotten out of a carafe at Starbucks. I will definitely go back again. And again. And probably some more.
Great Coffee Shop! This is the best shop that I have been to in Denver. The pastries are absolutely delicious! The shop has a very delightful atmosphere and the Owners are very nice people and the coffee itself is roasted nearly to perfection. I dont believe Ive ever been to a better place than this!
Cute spot, nice big tables, a little tight on seating if its busy. The espresso is flavorful, not burned. The hot chocolate is delicious made with dark chocolate and streamed milk. Theres also sandwiches and small food to choose from. Hard to find parking sometimes.
The ladies at the counter are fabulous and the coffee strong enough to save you from any bad day. Amazing neighborhood place
Didn’t realize a nice local coffee shop like this existed so close to me! I was pleasantly surprised to see an alcohol option with beermosas on the menu (and Denver loves beer!) although I opted for tea instead. I’m no tea snob, but this tea was darn good and the cashier felt like an old friend. The earl grey didn’t have that bitterness typically associated with black tea and it came out piping hot without burning my tongue. I will definitely return.
Coffee and mocha had no flavor! Breakfast sandwich was decent. One staff member was nice and helpful other one not so much. Wont be going back.
Black eye coffee is one of the best coffee shops in Denver! Such a great atmosphere and obviously the coffee is top notch. The food is superb too! Great for coffee dates!
This place has amazing coffee and breakfast options. Very quick with a great vibe. Staff was super pleasant.
Found this place on a whim and glad we did. If you like cappuccinos then this place is for you. One of the best. Perfectly blended the frothed milk with the espresso - something so many other places fail to do. Silky texture and great flavor. Wish we lived here so we could come back more often.
Good coffee shop located off the beaten path. The inside had a funky smell to it which wasnt very pleasant. Probably will not be returning as there are much better coffee shops located within a 5 minute walk. Reccomend getting your coffee to go if you do go here.
This is a good coffe shop with a good atmosphere. The coffe is a little bit too acidic for my taste but much better than any chain coffe store. Parking is not easy. The service is good but some of the employees display some arrogance that may not be good for this shop in the long term. There is nothing else worthy trying. There are much better places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the areaThis is a coffee shop, and only coffe is good here.
Quite possibly the best espresso in town! To respond to the Carrs negative review: when you sign your name, it asks you if youd like a receipt, and the cream is on the side counter like any other coffee shop. (Not that you need cream. The coffee here is amazing and shouldnt be polluted!)
This place is an amazing gem tucked away in the cutest neighborhood. I absolutely adore this place, the vibe and the coffee. Cinnamon buns and avocado toast are next level amazing.
I might be slightly unfair giving it 4 stars out of 5, because the coffee is some of the best in Denver, and it has an excellent aesthetic; however, it did feel a bit cold to me and wasnt quite as inviting. A solid shop, though, and worth your time.
We went in on Saturday and had a good experience. We ordered plain latte and croissant. The baristas were nice and service was as good. So we decided to come back Sunday. Sunday the baristas were terrible. They were giving off the worst vibes, ignoring customers, and made what was probably the worst dirty chai I have ever had.Update:I am not an experienced reviewer and I do not see how to reply to the response from the owner. We were there Saturday morning around 830 or 9 maybe. So yes, please let them know they did great. As far as Sunday goes .. I dont want to get anyone fired. Maybe just talk to staff about the art of leaving your baggage at home. Unless you win the lottery you will probably have to work the rest of your life. It is a skill that will benefit them for the remainder of their working life beyond being a barista.
This shop is really nice and trendy. I basically has it all, from great coffee to an amazing selection in food. It is a little pricer than some local coffee shops, but well worth it.
Asking customers to wear a mask when walking up outside does nothing but lose business. It’s lame and not a requirement. Basic human rights shouldn’t be so easily taken away. Going to another shop around the corner!
Great oat latte! Not a spooky setting for the haunt part, but it has a classic earthy and mildly industrual cafe vibe
Baristas werent very friendly. Coffee was good, but there are plenty of local, independent coffee shops with comparable coffee. It cost almost 7 or 8 dollars more than our normal coffee / pastry run, but that could have just been the pastries we ordered, Im not really sure. Both pastries were good, they would have been better warm though. In the end, no reason to return, not with better options around.
Great coffee and nibbles in a trendy space with an open air garage they open in nice weather. The cold brew and avocado toast after a hot summer hike is my fave!
I love this place. Great place to go to get out of the office and work remotely. Good empanadas - sweet and savory.
I decided to give this space another shot, as so many people claim it is the best. Still, it appears to be striving to hold onto decorum and eminent status, which is not what I am looking for in a coffee house. Yes, it appears very beautiful on the inside. The tables--which I believe are self made--are artful, no doubt. But is it comfortable to sit in an old metal chair for hours when trying to study? Chairs that screech when people move away from their table? Tables that shake when others set their coffees down? No.Furthermore, the set-up is that for a cafeteria, not a coffee house. If you are looking for a location to sit down, read a novel, and not have vociferous strangers jam-packed at every side of you... be cautious. Of the few times Ive been there, a couple have worked out fine. Others... Ive had to walk out. Finally, the coffee isnt for me. It leaves a bitter after taste in my mouth. And when Ive ordered in house coffee Ive been given a tiny cup that is allowed refills. I dont know, would it be rude of them to inquire if I would rather have one large cup so I dont have to get up and wait in line? So, no, this isnt my sort of place. When I think of a coffee house I am looking for one where people are able to sit with others if they choose, or to spend time alone if that is what they desire. Perhaps to read a book, listen to some music, or just sip coffee quietly. I want to relax, not feel like Im in a high school cafeteria or an airport terminal.
Excellent coffee and food in an unassuming atmosphere. Give the cold brew a try, its worth the trip by itself. Cant think of a better coffee shop in lower Highlands.
Very relaxing environment for a coffee shop and the chai latte ordered was just as expected...AMAZING!
Wow. Latte=amazing. Both beautiful and tasty. Decor=simple but cozy. Atmosphere= chill. Plenty of work space. Baristas are friendly but not pushy. A true gem for the neighborhood.
Denver area is seeing a nice renaissance in brewing beer and coffee and this place is one of the great coffee shops. It is places like this that makes me excited to leave the house, hang out and enjoy a really great cup of cappuccino (tiny spoon to scoop every last bit of goodness from the cup included).
Not bad, but like everything in Denver its inconsistent. One day its a great cappuccino, another tastes like someone forgot how to dial in espresso. Also the 8oz to go cups or lids are bad. Try getting a cap to go and putting a lid on. Doesnt work.I did see Tim Howard there which was cool ha
Awesome place to sit and do some work on my laptop!
Love this place. Coffee is always great, toast is unreal. Lovely staff and trendy location!
These guys supply my business with fresh coffee and pastries every single morning for my customers to enjoy. The staff is very friendly, the coffee is some of the best Ive ever had, and the pastries are second to none! Keep it up!
Best Coffee joint in town! Staff is extremely passionate about all things coffee and it shows. I Love this place! It has become part of my routine always leaving happier than when I walked in! Thank you for creating such an amazing place!!
