Do not use this place, we reserved a truck a month in advance and was guaranteed the reservation with a credit card. We arrived on the day of to pick up the equipment and was met with an “I don’t care attitude” from the lady with the long wig on at the desk. We were told they did not have any trucks or appliance dollies. After stating to her we made the reservation a month in advance she offers us the smallest truck they have, mind you we had a reservation for the largest. After giving us keys twice to a truck that would not start, we were given the “only” truck left. We were forced to move a 3 bedroom house in a studio/1 bedroom truck. It was the most horrible experience ever, and the attitude behind it was even worse.
Avoid at all costs! Booked an online reservation the day before and paid. I opted for the online check in and while I’m looking at the van they assigned, some guy walks up and says this is the one I’m picking up too. He claimed he booked the reservation the night before but I made mine the morning before. They ended up giving him the the rental anyway claiming they already checked him out! They had no other vehicles because half were already taken or broken down. So the associate Iesha/Aisha calls her manager who says he has a van 6 miles away with a 50 dollar reservation guarantee.I put it in my GPS and it’s 20 miles away! He flat out lied! With no other choice, I went to pick up the van on a drive 30 minutes away. No offer for gas. No apology. Nothing. This now added on an hour+ of travel time in Atlanta traffic. My reservation was at 11. I am just now getting to my place at 1:15. Just piss poor service.One thing I will say, the older woman who was working here was very sweet and tried her best to find us another option. But overall this was a terrible experience and I will NEVER use uhaul again if I can avoid it. This location is trash. Don’t take the reviews for granted like I did.
Made an 11:30am appointment for a hitch installation. They didnt start work on my car until 1:30pm, after I saw someone else pulling into the garage and reminded them I was next in line. Then at 2pm they came to tell me they didnt actually have the hitch I needed and there wasnt one within a 90 mile radius. So Ill have to come back when it arrives. They decided to still install the wiring. Right now its 3:45 pm and I am still waiting. I have no idea what is taking so long and no one will answer my questions or communicate to me. Ive now been here over 4 hours for something that should not take more than an hour. Unacceptable. I will be avoiding this location on the future.
Extremely long wait times... I’ve been in twice recently for a quick drop off and pickup that takes 2minutes and I had to wait at least 15 minutes while only two customers were serviced.I would avoid this location if I were you.

When I went to get a truck for my move I was having issues paying with my debit card. The general manager, Justin, was reasonable and helpful since I didnt have cash on me. I was finally able to get it to work after a while, but his patience was appreciated. They also helped me get a few extra tie downs to use for the move. Everyone there was nice and I would definitely go there again in the future.
Receptionist was fast and courteous but the truck info was not up to date. No one inspected my rental b4 leaving so I was left to lose my money because of no one on sight to correct the gas or mileage situation before usage & returning. I already was coerced into using a size of truck I didnt need for moving 2 couches. I feel scammed.
The service was horrible. The lady was eating while giving me quotes. Overdraft my account, was not friendly at all. Wasn’t worth the drive the she told me the parking lot wasn’t safe.
I wish I could give 0 stars!! This particular Uhaul location need to be seriously investigated. Before I rented I did see reviews on how they charge your card for an extra day because they failed to check it in on time. Well they did the same thing to my boyfriend card. When I called and spoke with a rude manager, he even said my boyfriend used 90 miles when he only used 67. Thank God my boyfriend has pictures of the odometer. This is fraudulent all the way around. First charge your card for an extra day and then add more mileage on. Please dont use this location!!!!!!!!!!
By far the worst U-haul moving experience Ive ever had. Please plan in advance and avoid this location at all cost. I waited 6 months to post my review just to ensure my card wasnt accidentally charged; thats my level of faith in this location. Upon arriving to retrieve the truck at our appointed time, there were two attendants in the building, one customer ahead of us, and a pretty long wait. While we waited for the one attendant working to become available, my girlfriend accidentally made eye contact with the other one, Breasia J. Now, we didnt mind waiting. I prefer polite behavior above all else. After assuming that meeting eyes meant demanding service, Breasias unnecessary attitude went as far as to insinuate that she resented us for reminding her of what she had to do, when - quite frankly - nobody asked. Again, I was fine waiting on the attendant who was actually in a good mood. I wish I had gotten him. It wasnt long before I shared her attitude. The U-Haul experience is already long due to their terrible online interface, and the awful technological connection between store and POS system. Thats always been evident. However, Breasias attitude made a lifetime out of 15 minutes you couldnt pay be to relive. If this location is your only option in a pinch, then good luck.

BEWARE SCAM ALERT: this location is running a scam on the storage units. They used my info to put a storage unit in another city in my name. I had them correct my contract but the other location is sending me a bill from a place I have never even been to, but they used my info to e-sign a contract there. My check in card at Memorial location would not turn off my unit alarm the whole time I was there so I checked out of the unit altogether. Now I know why my card wouldnt deactivate the alarm. There were several other customers whose alarms kept going off too. The Manager said its a mechanical problem with some of the alarms, not a system error but I have a feeling he was in on it. Do NOT authorize ANY auto debits on their storage units. Protect your things and go somewhere else.
Had a reservation for a week to pick a truck up at 8am, lady at the desk told us to come back at 2pm because they don’t have anymore trucks available. Her excuse is that they’re over booked but that’s their problem not mine. She was rude the whole time, didn’t know how to do her job and kept answering personal phone calls. I will never return here for any sort of business

HORRIBLE. TERRIBLE. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Needs SHUTTING TF DOWN! I’ve had my UBOX in storage for over 3 weeks. When scheduling my appt to have the UBOX delivered, it was an AWFUL experience. Failed attempts over the phone for 5 days straight. I had to go into the location to schedule the delivery. Not to mention, they were 4 hours late on the delivery day. The delivery driver was cool and professional, but other than that, 1 star!
TLDR: It took 2 days, in line and on the phone, to deal with my online order of 4 boxes.I ordered 4 boxes online and arrived to pick them up at the time confirmed in the email. Although two people were at the counter, after asking what I was there for, I was told to wait for the other associate to help me. After another 10 minutes, I asked the first associate to check if the order was ready to pick up and she seemed to have no idea it was possible to order online. Come to find out, the location didn’t have the inventory listed online, at which point the associates walked around seemingly to find out what to do. After 30 minutes, I told them I would be back after other errands. (I ordered online so that I could pick it up quickly and go.)I came back to find no progress had been made and was pointed to a different person and told to “talk to him.” After waiting in line again, I left my phone number for them to call me when they figured out what to do. No call or email the next day, so I was on hold for 40 minutes waiting to speak with customer service. The woman was obviously disdainful at my frustration and told me the order had already been cancelled. I didn’t receive an email or phone call informing me of this! She offered no solution to actually receive the boxes I need or compensation for the trouble.This was an unbelievable waste of my time and energy over FOUR BOXES.Online ordering shouldn’t be offered if the stores don’t know how to handle the system and can’t track their inventory.

The only reason why its a 2 star instead of a 1 star is because the lady who helped us checkout was awesome. We got charged $85 extra because they said that the furniture pads where missing from the u-haul. They where there when I left the truck! Its very unreasonable to leave the keys in the truck, there should be a key drop of box or something, then this wouldnt happen. I called this location and talked with them about this issue and they said it was not their responsibility but it sure isnt mine when its on their property. The guy on the phone told me to call 1-800-uhaul, the estimated wait time was more then an hour everytime I called. I have a newborn and just cant wait the long. Tried calling multiple times a day for about a week and never got though except once and got hung up on that time. I have used u-haul many times and have never had an experience like this. This happened July 11th, 2020
So the manager, Phil, and crew here tries to con people by nick-picking anything wrong to get an extra dollar. He charged be for trash left in the truck but it was completely empty and clear, he charged a late return although i returned it early but didnt do the online/app return process even though they can verify via camera or just by seeing the truck in theyre lot the next morning, and then charged for gas when the meter didnt move because we didnt travel far. After continuous dispute i finally got the late return and clean up fee refunded. That wasnt good enough but not worth continue fighting for. You shouldnt do business here, however, If you deal with them take pictures and document everything!
Extremely helpful. I had issues picking up down south but they were willing to help me out when I returned it up here. Everyone was very nice. Didnt realize you get a month free rent with a truck rental, would have saved so much.
Worst Experience I’ve ever had at a U-Haul center. Terrible customer experience. Had a reservation, but still had to wait 30 minutes before getting my truck. Associates sitting around more worried about their phones and food than the line of customers. Returning the truck took just as long. The staff has no regard for others’ time. I recommend going to another truck rental place.
Called this location spoke to Shannon (candler road manager), who was truly unhelpful. As usual Dyonn Thomas (general manger) was claiming to be busy at 8 in the morning on a Tuesday. I’m a former Uhaul employee at this location and this is a series matter.
Its fine, as long as you dont mind them closing before posted hours and laughing at you for asking why... All in an attempt and correct a f*** up they caused.Their response? Dont rent a storage from here or a truck. The most unprofessional experience ever. I rented a truck and brought it back the same day and purchased a storage. The charged me for 2 days when I had it for 1 day and told me I would get November free. They stated I paid with cash but I paid with a card. When I called to get the mixup rectified I was on hold for 30 minutes. I called back and spoke with a rude lady. She tried to be little me with her tone and lucky it was Sunday or I would have spoken to her in a Worldly tone. This place sucks and is ran by the most incompetent group of human beings. I wish I could give them 0 stars. 1 star is way too generous.
Fantastic experience with uhaul. my wife and I just relocated to Atlanta from Memphis and it went off with a hitch. The staff at avondale were extremely pleasant to deal with and the facility is immaculate.
This facility is large and accessible on Memorial Drive. Very clean. Mr. Burke was very attentive and knowledgeable. Excellent service.
Very accommodating when I needed to make multiple changes to reservations. And really love the ability to pick up/drop off using just my phone.

This one star is only for that one gentleman who kinda helped us on a hot day. Things that were wrong at this location: 1. I selected self pick-up service, which should be intuitive, except the number I got assigned to did NOT match any van parked there. We walked around the whole lot to search for the van, which turned out to be one that has completely different number on the windshield. 2. When we finally got in the van, it broke down as soon as we pulled out of the parking spot. 3. Finally got switched to a new van. But the mileage was wrong in the beginning. An employee corrected the number by hand, and initialed it. But after I returned the van, I was charged $30 over what I shouldve paid. Because they used the wrong mileage instead of the corrected one. I then tried emailing and calling. The former got me no response, while the latter told me that this can only be solved in person. I am deeply disappointed by the lackluster management at this branch, and the utter lack of convenience the whole set-up is.

I rent a lot of trucks for my business. This location has always been good to me.
The operating processes of this location are simply backwards. Long lines, slow rental process, lacks efficiency, and costs the customer valuable time. Everyone is moving something, so wasting an hour to rent a trailer or truck, eats into your schedule. This is my third time at this location and it just seems to get worse. Go with the expectation you’ll be sitting in line longer than you’d imagine.
You close at 7. I brought the rental truck back at 5:19 (two whole hours earlier than anticipated) and was charged an “after hours service fee.” Stop nickel and diming people. I’ll be calling in the morning to get my money back. Ya’ll really tried it. And it really be your own people🙄
Nightmare. Very unprofessional staff. Nasty attitudes towards all customers. The female employee especially. I’m filing a formal complaint as well. Went to rent a trailer for towing on June 30 2018. Horrible customer service. Me and my hubby worked for hours trying to connect brake lights to the trailer from our rental truck. No one offered to help. We finished before 7. Just to hear a very rude female say “We are closed”. We called the cops. Huge mess. I will never shop at this location again!
Gm Dyonn & Deon look out for me and my sister at the very last minute as we got off our bus. To me thats not only a blessing for us but it was potentially great customer service from em both. I’m sorry this place is getting so many poor reviews. I booked a truck online, I picked it up within 15 minutes of arrival. Jarrell processed the return of the truck very efficiently.
Moving day is stressful enough, but this location made even more stressful. I had a 9am appointment and had already checked in the night before. I arrived at 8:55 for my 9am pickup. However, no one ever arrived to open the location. After numerous calls, I was finally able to speak to the scheduling headquarters and get my reservation changed. This put my day back an hour and is greatly inappropriate and unappreciated. If you open at 9am and have reservations, it is in your best interest to be open!!!!!
Need to watch the Seinfeld episode about how to keep a reservation. Did not have the vehicle reserved and couldnt care less. The manager, Simone (not sure of spelling) lacks all basic customer service or management skills and he couldnt be more unhelpful.

Nothing pleases me more in commerce than GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been known to go completely out of my way to get it. Did not have to go far recently (March 23-24) when I need a small U-Haul box truck and chose to utilize a newly opened agency at Avondale, in Dekalb County Georgia.Permit me to commend the outstanding service I received from the time I placed my call with General Manager Raquel Pitts till the time I actually went in and retrieved the vehicle from the equally professional Assistant Manager Doneesha McDowell.Assistant Manager McDowell is the one that efficiently processed my contract and made sure that I had the vehicle I needed for my assignment. General Manager Pitts, who happened by as AM McDowell entered my information in to the data base, was the one that personally made sure I had a clean, well equipped vehicle. Upon return it was AM Manager McDowell who processed my paperwork and made sure my experience had been satisfying. Indeed it had and a formidable reason it was as such was because of how my day had begun and ended at U-Haul!Too often when service is less than par we can find the time to write reviews. This is a time when things were exceptional and I wanted to be among those to jot a note commending it as such.No need asking where I will go again next time. Wife scared to go by herself to move items because it is completely unsafe and the staff and management will not do anything to help.They wont pick up the phone ever, then when you go to location they are just sitting around talking and the management is worse then the staff.Uhaul corporate needs to fire everyone and restaff especially management.

Staffed full with people with HORRIBLE customer service skills. I ordered supplies online for pickup. Showed up and none of the items were ready. I waited 30mins for 1 of the staff members to gather items. There were 5 other people on staff. 4 of which stepped outside for a smoke break in front of the main entrance and watched the 1 woman struggle to load supplies to my car while HECKLING her... for 30 more minutes. It was unreal.
I would not recommend this location. Arrived after a 7 hour trip to one person on staff and no manager to be found. Could not handle the 20 people in line waiting for things as easy as a refund on boxes that they did not have. Rude customer service and very poor management. Called Customer Service and all they could help me with was to recommend giving a review online. So here ya go. Go somewhere else!
Hello,I had came up there on on 5/8/2018. The male there had gave me a hard time with renting a truck just because I didnt have my phone. So when I went to get it he said I could not even rent a storage room. I will never in my life go back there. They should find better people to work for them like the other one on Moreland I had to go to.

Ordered Uboxes to be delivered to my apartment. The drop off was flawless- dropped off and picked up as scheduled. When I scheduled to have them delivered to my new apartment, I was rescheduled 4 times before the boxes were finally delivered. I was originally told I would need to be home for the drop off, so I took a substantial amount of time off from work, only to later be told by the delivery woman that I didnt need to be there. Im still not sure what protocol is.The service is overpriced, especially taking into account poor customer service. My two boxes were $140 and the TWO delivery fees were $198 (the second delivery fee was not noted anywhere when I originally ordered.)I contacted customer service to voice this complaint and still havent heard back. I will follow up on this review if I do.
Terrible ! The general manager there is rude and has zero customer service skills. He refuses to do his job and tend to any customer that comes into the store. They left me on hold for 2 hours. Please do not use this store.
Worst customer service. Woman literally used the I am the manager line. Word of advice to UHaul- dont make how can I help you? Your standard greeting if your store manager is going to respond with Look.. after my telling her I understand its not your fault, but I just want my stuff. Ive been calling for a week trying to get a delivery set up and customer service has jerked me around and transferred me 6 times this conversation alone.
Horrible customer service. We rented a truck and called U-Haul 30 minutes prior confirming it was available. When we arrived at the Avondale location, their employee Shanneeda informed us there was not a truck for us and offered no explanation and no assistance in finding another location with an available truck. Her attitude was dreadful and is the sole reason I will never return to this location. We also arrived at 4:30, before their 5:00 closing time, and they had already locked the main doors. Customers had to knock on the window in order to be let in, at which the employees would clearly make known they were not happy to welcome them in.
Manager was very helpful and considerate to my situation. Would do business again!
Have had my car towed from this lot before,when all of beauty salon customers park there.Was parking my trailer there.Simone the manager told me I could not park there and said they have paid parking for $120.I told him that that price is for secure parking.Had to move my trailer.But come by everyday and trucks are parked there even after I was told I could not.I feel discriminated against really.I ask about the dump truck that parks there.He told me that the dump truck is part of U-haul which was a lie. Actually its one of his African friends truck.This is bias as hell.I never felt so un- american till I moved here from Florida.He stated he can pick and choose.I told him hes just an employee and dont own u haul and that is bias treatment.Seem this location has free run and act as if they dont have to deal fairly or answer to anyone.What applys to one should apply to all.Now he has a heated dissed discriminated against feeling brother feeling some type way.Contacting Corp Monday and see if they say same thing and have same type attitude or view about it. Manager sucks..

Sweets and Raschel were great. I had been waiting to get a bike rack hitch installed from the Peters Street store for over 9 days. Peters Street is much closer but had no clue how to service a customer and what was even worse I talked with a field service manager regarding my issue and she told me that I needed to pay an extra $50 to have my “special” hitch shipped. One call to Avondale store and they had it and installed it within two hours of initial call. I will not use Peters street Uhual in Castleberry for anything.
I know UHaul experiences can be hit or miss and I see a lot of negative reviews here, but for what its worth, this was the best UHaul experience Ive had. We made last minute adjustments to pick up a one day 15 foot rental at this location (instead of the one near O4W). Everything was reserved correctly, that had TONS of trucks in the parking lot (if youve ever had to drive 45 miles out of the way to get your truck, youll know how nice this is), and we were the only ones there to pick something up and didnt wait at all. No, the people werent especially friendly, but they did their job well and had us in and out without any problems.
If I could give a negative 2 I would. First I picked up my truck & there were 3 employees in the front checking people out (f.y.i it was 8 a.m.). 2 employees were just walking around, straight chillin, looking at the line get backed up, but would not make eye contact with any of the customers. Finally after waiting a while to get my truck, this wonderful employee didn not fully explain my contract pretty much in the end I was screwed and she and the manager were already gone for the day.Heres the good part. . . . .I brought the truck back and I was charged an extra $39. 90. Might I add, when I first arrived there were 4 employees there. 1 outside, 3 in the inside. Once again the line got backed up & 1 of the 3 employees were checking people in & out. When I got my final receipt it had an extra charge on there and just wanted to know why, I wanted to get the breakdown of my bill. This disrespectful, rude, impatient, ill-mannered, insubordinate and undisciplined employee pointed to a wall poster saying this what you got charged for. So I politely said, I still dont get it. After reading the poster, clearly I had that type of truck but my final bill did not match what advertisement was offering. So I guess by me asking question & wanting a breakdown of where the extra $39.90 came from. . . . .She got all worked up and started breathing hard, rolling her eyes and smacking her teeth. I clearly understand how it feels to work in customer service & thats why I didnt get an attitude when I was charged extra. . . .I simply just politely ask for an understanding of my bill.Finally after all of that nonsense and negative vibes she was giving me, I asked to speak with the store supervisor or manager. She swiftly responded, He gone for today, Call back Monday Mind you it was Saturday at 1ish pm. It wasnt like there a line behind me, there was only one other customer. After seeing that I was frustrated, one of the gentlemen (Norman Carson) was Very helpful and assisted me with finding out the possibilities of why I was charged an extra fee. I work hard for my money, I expect to be treated fairly, respectful and nothing less than a human, k. You dont know what people are going through, treat people right & if you arent feeling it/your day isnt going well or maybe you dont like your job. . . . .you still have option. Pick another place to work.
Just got back from a brutal and stressful work trip, 6 hour drive and brought it back 2 days early to hopefully save a little money.The guy taking uhaul returns said they dont normally lower costs for early returns but I could take care of it for you for $20. And of course I had no cash on me. He wanted me to take the uhaul (my only ride) down to the bank and pull cash out if I wanted to lower the charges.Not sure if uhaul has a corporate presence reviewing these sorts of things, but major red flag. Any normal successful business would have knocked the charges off, of their own accord, to build customer relationships.Anyways, was planning to leave good reviews, now Im not.
I can attest to the review below. The customer service is appalling. We too were unable to reach the reservations counter because the employees had locked the door before 5. Ive called and spoke to the manager twice about this particular employee. He is unable or unwilling to make the necessary changes. Sad.
Major roach infestation. Management is aware and has done nothing to remedy the situation. Went to pick up my daughters bed and other household goods only to find roaches hiding in every crevice and notch of her 1 year old headboard.
Horrible customer service! Employees are not forthcoming with assistance. Customers are not greeted or acknowledged until it’s their turn to check out. Cashier made me wait 5-7 mins for the manager to come from the back instead of calling/paging him or going to get him. I would suggest drivig across town to avoid going to this location.

They were noisy and unprofessional.There was a young man, whose name escapes me, helped me secure my booked pickup truck...he gets an A for service. All the ladies at the front counter get an F.
Just go to a different uhaul dealer, it will be faster and cheaper than trying to deal with the rude and incompetent staff here, particularly the disrespectful, clueless, and insecure manager, Dyonn Thomas.
DO NOT RENT STORAGE: COCK ROACH INFESTATION We were first promised a free month of storage for purchasing a truck after trying to get a hold of management to rectify our account come to find out we did not qualify due to it being only a one way promotion... The manager, China Mason never replied to my email trying to resolve the issue. It took me going up there 4 times before finally calling corporate customer service. However an even worse experience was 2-3 weeks after renting the unit we found a roach infestation. Which we did not cause, we had no bug problem leaving our previous residence. A staff member told me they were bringing in a pest control company. However I had to take matters into my own hands and spray bug killer in and around our unit to control the problem. DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT! Go to Public Storage where you can pay $1 for the first month and dont run into rude staff or infestation problems.

We moved from NY to Atlanta a month ago and used u-box to move our luggage. We send our luggage on June 13. Almost 3 weeks before we were going to move. They deducted the money for moving on 23rd of June and gave us the pick up date of 29June. But when we went there on 30th of June they said that our box has not arrived yet so check tomorrow. We called them several times and no one picked up. We went to their U-haul center here in Decatur and they said your luggage is a week late and didnt gave any reasons as to why its late. Thankfully we received pur luggage on July 7th almost a month later. And every thing reached here in one piece. When my husband asked for delay reasons they said that they couldnt find a driver in NY to bring luggage here so why did they deducted the payment early? Plus they said they will pay you 50$ per day your luggage is late but you have to talk to their management. We did talk to the manager and dont know even now whether its gonna happen or not.Their customer service is horrible. When you call them no one picks up. May its because they know that they are the cheapest way available for long distance move. Really bad experience with them. I dont think Ill ever use them for another move.Also when our movers went there to pick up Ubox they had to wait three hours before our boxes were ready. Even though we asked about pick up time twice and so did the movers. They lie a lot.

Worst experience ever ......been ther 2 1/2 hours eveb when i had a reservation ....the truck i reserved was not there the customer service representative told me she didnt care cause i needed a truck ...then the lil guy otis told me he didnt know anything as of who was the mangers. .......i will never go to this location again
Service because of the computer program for checking our is slow. But the staff is nice and the vehicles clean
Horrible, this facility will take your money i did not even rent and they took my money off my card and the custome service manager hung upin my face will be reporting this company and please dont support them they are horrible if we stop spending our money with them they will closed down.

This is my favorite pickup place but for some reason, Uhual wont let me schedule a pickup from here. Please Uhaul, stop iimposing different pickup places on me while online.
They charged me three times claiming I didnt turn in my rental vehicle. Even with the horrible service, I got an email saying that I returned it. The guys there take 100 years to help you. They walk around like sloths and mumble when directing themselves to you. Ive called multiple times and been put on hold for hours. Then after being helped they tell me theyll call back. Im really annoyed with the amount of time wasted with this company. I turned in the van, I expect not to have my credit card charged without permission or reason.
Was OVERCHARGED 2 days later for the gas being 1/8 under the 1/2 mark. Uhaul is a rip off!

Me and my brother got there at 6:30 to deliver my moms furniture and they would not let us deliver it because we was there all the way until 7 and they need to leave exactly on time
