On vacation in Daytona from Rhode Island. Had an interlock emergency. Mike was more than willing to take us in and fixed the issue in hours. He was professional, honest, transparent, and fair about the services and price. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area. Much appreciated!
Left our car to be looked at for a problem not starting. Heard nothing for 3 days. Finally get a call with the estimate which was way too much so we went and picked it up. We took it to a different local shop which correctly diagnosed the problem and they had it fixed the following morning for a fraction of what this Aamco was going to charge us. They incorrectly diagnosed the problem, they charge way too much, and they took FOREVER to even look at the car. Our visit was a complete waste of time.
The worst shop Ive left my car at. Took 3 days to diagnose the problem, and another day to fix it. Once I got it back, one of my sensors started going crazy and they told me it would be another day worth of diagnosing to figure out why. Not to mention the overpricing. If you can avoid going here, do it.
My vehicle is still currently in this shop. So far....this shop has been outstanding in helping me decide my best course of action regarding my transmission. At this time, it is being torn apart to decide to severity of damage to see if a rebuild is a fair option or if it is severe enough that a full replacement is simply a better option.
Very professional and honest. Micheal the manager was extremely helpful knowledgeable professional and courteous. We took it to a couple other shops before we decided to use aamco which turned out to be an very wise decision. Not only was the car was done way before expected the final bill was $850 less than expected. I couldnt be more happy with the work they did and especially the final cost..
Notorious for telling you you need to rebuild your transmission even if you don’t . I wld advise taking your hard earned money elsewhere
Apparently they didnt realize my dash cam recorded the entire time that my vehicle was in the garage with the mechanic. When my boyfriend and I reviewed the footage, we were disgusted with what we heard. By all means, steer clear of this repair shop!
Had some issues but ok now. More expensive than other shops in the area.
My college age daughter was having trouble with her transmission slipping and her car was almost not drivable. We left it at their shop with the service manager telling us that they would check it over and call us with the estimated repair cost. What happened next stunned me. We were called and told that the problem was a module not the transmission, and that they had researched the problem and found that the manufacturer had extended the warranty for that problem. He gladly gave us the information we needed and sent us to the Ford dealer that had to fix the problem under warranty. We had called the Ford dealer prior to going to Aamco and we were told all warranty repairs were expired on this car. Aamco made nothing for their honesty on this job but they earned a life long customer for any other work that I will ever need that they do at their shop..
I brought my card to aamco after two other mechanics told me what was wrong with it but didnt want to fix it they said it was too hard of a job. After I brought to aamco they told me not only was my clutch bad but so was my flywheel when the other two mechanics never even told me that. The manager Michael even sent me pictures to show me how bad the damage was. The manager Michael told me he had to order special parts so I thought it would be a couple weeks but it only took 4 days for them to get the parts and finish it. I couldnt be happier the car drives as good as new and I have a year warranty. I am extremely happy and pleased I will bring my other car there and have all work done there from now on. Michael the manager was very professional and nice treated me with the utmost respect and gave me a great deal I saved a ton of money I will recommend aamco on Mason to anyone I know that needs any type of work done!
They are very knowledgeable and professional
I was so impressed ! I ask about changing my trans fluid on my 2000 jeep and he advised me honestly n truthful..very thankful recommend them to everybody .
I was there with a friend he was nice and patient explaining the payments alo my sister came here until she left out of town they fixed my car now he want take your money if it is not worth to keep with repairs
They do a new car eval at no cost that was helpful, though not good news for us. Helpful and friendly.
The gentleman that helped out was very nice and explain things. Well
This is the type of mechanic shop youve always been warned about. Dishonest, misleading, and horrible work quality that they absolutely will not stand behind. Theres a handful of local, reputable transmission shops within 10 minutes of this place that you should consider before ever stepping foot in this Aamco. Let my mistake keep you from throwing away your hard earned money and further lining the pockets of these scam artists.
Great people that helped me every step of the way! Made sure I was happy and taken care of
I was having issues with my CVT transmission on my 2016 Nissan Altima. I brought it to AAMCO to have it looked at and repaired. Based on our conversation I was advised to seek repairs through the Nissan dealership since the car could still have been under warranty. I was so happy and thankful when I brought it to Nissan. Come to find out I was covered and the repair for a rebuilt transmission came to $0.00, Nissan Corp. covered the repair. Thank you guys for your honesty and referral. Any other shop might have just taken the job for themselves without any regards to the money I saved. Thank you, Thank you!
I cant complain about the quality of the work they do because I did not use them to repair our transmission. All Ill say is, shop around. You can find quality work at a much lower price than what I was quoted.
I had the worst experience with this Aamco location the guys working inside the location did not treat me Right also i would like include in this review that they sold me a bad transmission i spent 1953 and transmission fluid has leak out on numerous days after they replaced the old one i have a warranty on the transmission but afraid too take it back because if they work on my car they will keep it again for two weeks like they did last time and also afraid my vehicle will be worst off if they do any mechanical work Mike the guy behind the counter charge me 1953 and sold me a two dollar transmission from a junk yard in ormond beach just so happen i was giving someone else a ride to the junk yard to scrap theyre vehicle and who do i see the Owner of AAMCO PLACING ORDERS FOR OTHER PEOPLE TRANSMISSION I PROMISE IF YOU GO TO THEM YOU WILL BE UPSET WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDERS AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE THEY DO HAVE A LADY THAT WILL CALL YOU AND BE EXTRA FRIENDLY BECAUSE SHE CARE ABOUT HER JOB BUT THATS THE ONLY GOOD SERVICE YOU MAY RECEIVE AND OF COURSE I BELIEVE THEY HAVE HER CALL TO SOOTHE THINGS OVER WITH CUSTOMER AND SHE WAS GREAT BUT IT WAS THEM THAT MISTREATED ME
Ive had my COBRA worked on twice at this location and the work done and service has been top notch. I like that the employees working there are mainstays so I can call and talk to the same people year after year like Michael. My most recent repair was a bit more than I had anticipated, but the communication was clear and often on my options and what needed to be done. The pricing is fair and surely a better deal than the dealer. Their mechanics have superb skills and fixed an internal differential repair on my car doing an excellent job. I highly recommend this shop!
Awesome and speedy service.
Mike and the guys were honest and courteous. They took the time to investigate prior work that had been done on the car to better problem solve and they made considerable efforts to explain their findings. The job was done right and fast. In fact, because they knew we were from out of town, they came in early and stayed late to ensure that we could pick it up on our day off. I highly recommend them.
Call and explained what vehicle i had and the problem, was told they could fix the transmission. Had vehicle towed there and next day was told some BS about how they couldnt fix this transmission... Had to pay AGAIN to have it towed to a REAL transmission shop!!!
I took my 2003 Ford Ranger and to have the rear transmission seal replaced. A $20 part with $600 of Labor. I told them dont do anything else. Dont test drive it. Dont investigate the insides. Nothing. Then I get a phone call from them saying that my perfectly fine transmission had less than a hundred miles to go before a catastrophic failure. They sent me a video they had made of the insides of my transmission spread apart on a workbench. Of course, it could have been any transmission . No way of knowing. In the video they showed me how the parts were just about to fail. Of course, there was a estimate included and the thousands of dollars. Probably the most crooked business I have ever dealt with.
Mike is always courteous and works a plan for repair with me, understanding finances are tight these days. I know they look out for me and their prices are fair.I am confident, when I leave the work is done right. My car has all its maintenance done there for a year now because I know I can trust them.
The day after Christmas my transmission would no longer shift upward properly or at all. This wasnt a surprise for I have been expecting it for a year. After checking out other local places I decided to use Aamco to do rebuild. After finding out they had an 18-month/18k warranty, my trepidation was relieved. The GM, Mark was right on point and very pro$essional in explaining different aspects that may or may not be. He also aided in the fact that my financial difficultly wasnt one and went so far as to find a 100.00 discount coupon that he applied. 1 week later it is completed even with a holiday in that timeframe...so..I take it out of the lot, and am immediately aware that my truck is awesome again...it shifts up like a champ and is very responsive..thank you guys for an awesome rebuild in a shortspan..now I can go visit my mom..
They totally lied about their free evaluation of my truck. They said they were going to test drive it, put it on the lift and check the fluid ECT ect .I ask the mechanic about it and he didnt know it was there, and I set a rock on the tire because I was skeptical. And it was still there, so was never moved. I pulled the dipstick out about a 3rd of the way out and it was EXACTLY where I left it.
Great honest service! So nice and helpful, they explained what I needed, what was most important, and got it done in time. Very reasonable, and I have used them more than once.
Never go here. Absolutely horrible experience! Please dont spend your hard earned money here. I was quoted one price and charged another. Told me it would be ready at a certain time and it was done almost 5 days later. I hate I had to give them a star. Please everyone I highly recommend you do not go here. They are a scam and I will NEVER go back. I would rather be with out a vehicle
Very professional and helpful. They were extremely flexible and actually worked hard to get my problem taken care of. I would definitely recommend.
I wouldnt ever take my vehicle to them again. It took 4 days to due a transmission flush and replace the filter while I was on vacation. Then one complete was told there was no warranty and not even a week later have the the gasket to the transmission pan fail due a stripped out bolt one of 18 on my jeep patriot causing the failure. Also found not all the clips on my lower engine shield had not been reinstalled which you have to take off to to service. Luckly I made it home but you may not after using them for your next service. Id never recommend to ANYONE!!
Not vary good work done! Because a little over 32,000 miles ago I spent 2,700 dollars on according to Mike the general manager from the Dayton Beach location On a complete rebuild of my transmission and that This transmission should last 100,000 miles or more but lucky for AAMCO just as the mileage warranty expired my transmission need a complete rebuild once again. I would never ever recommend anyone to get any kind of service done there. Michael is a vary helpful guy but AAMCO will not stand behind there work if anything goes wrong.
Mike and the guys stand behind there warranty thanks again. Got me on the road again.
I was quoted 1500. Or less & got 1490. t tax & happy. They took the Transmission apart in front of me, showed a broken main drive Snap ring was broken, & other parts needed to be up graded, & they Did So, My Transmission works Better than before, & I am Pleased with their Work. U want an Honest Place to go, then I Suggest U go to Them ! Thank U.
Buy a new car and go there, they will say u need to rebuild your transmission because all that they care about is how to get money from you!!!!
Today 8/23/19 i am relieved that my daughter and grand daughter are back in Richmond, Va after breaking down on the way to Orlando, Fl. Her car was towed to another shop but we were not confident with their methods. she had her car towed to Aamco Transmission Daytona Beach, FL. I was in Richmond and i called Michael and talked with him serveral times and he kept me up on the progress of his diagnosis. He also kept my daughter up to date on progress on her car while she and my granddaugther went to Disney to enjoy some vacation while he fixed vaccum hoses and tested for codes and went step by step and determined it was the catalytic converter and not the transmission. I thank God for Michael and AAmco Transmissions and Total Car Care.
Took in an almost 40-year old survivor car there with over 300k miles on it that was sluggish when first starting out, thinking it might be the transmission, and chose to try AAMCO not only do they specialize in transmissions, but do other repairs. Dropped the car off at 8:00am and got a call just after lunch that it was ready to pick up and the good news was that the transmission was fine, they had made a few adjustments, such as the timing being off about 8 degrees, and the sluggishness was due to a problem in the carburetor and they recommended we rebuild it, something I could do myself. When we got the bill, to our surprise, there was no charge. What a nice experience.
Ive been fortunate to find that this shop is trustworthy and no-nonsense. I just found out that they do all car care (hence the Total Car Care subtitle). Wish Id realized that years ago. ;-) Now I know.
Mike went over my options and costs given my situation. The problem was solved in a timely manor and the cost was accurate. Thanks to the entire shop.
Had 2 transmissions done. Both are still in good working order. One I have had for nearly 10 years. I had the service done in Lighthouse Point, Florida and broke down up here about a year later. They still honored the warranty. The owner had an incident with my father a long time ago. This made it a little harder to do business with him. Once we got pass that everything worked out. Both of my Trucks transmission cost me about 4k each. Thats the only thing I didnt like about dealing with aamco, but it has lasted along time.
I highly recommend you find another shop! I brought my 2005 Nissan Altima here and as the reviews stated, Mike was nice. It was giving a circuit code for a ground wire. Aamco was really a second opinion. He convinced me o the phone that he would do a thorough inspection of my car. He stated if the other shop did not have it a ½ day then they did not do a good job. Well, sure enough when Mike had my car for a ½ day, he can back with a diagnosis. He diagnoses was to replace the transmission for $1500 plus. I tried to explain to him that it was for a circuit. I even provided the Technical Service Bulletin for him to review. He continued to insist that the transmission needed a full rebuild. So, I took it to another shop. It took him some time to get to it but when he did, he could that the plug to the transmission computer was corroded. He cleaned it and code cleared. Cleaning a corroded plug to the transmission computer was all that was needed. Cost…$197 for the labor of tracking the ground. Mike and Aamcco are fake mechanic. He did not do what he said he was going to do and tried to rip me off. I go back to my original statement…I highly recommend you find another shop!
Took my car in to be told it needed to be replaced or rebuilt . After a 3 he wait I called to be told about transmission and did I want them to start work I said Im coming to get it was told would be 2 he was sitting in there parking lot so min later someone shut the hood a d parked it I went in to retrieve my keys. I then took car to a small business owner he do I d nothing wrong ok next day took to Chrysler dealer still nothing wrong with transmission only a electronic code that needed to be reset from the co sensor that was replied in that had gotten loose underneath car. I would never trust this or any other Namco.
All unprofessional. . . . . PERIODT!!
Great job getting the caddy back up and going . Mike worked with the warranty company and made it a great experience.
My Chrysler van started acting weird. The speed odometer would not work and it would not shift gears. We called AAMCO Wednesday the 25th and they said bring it in for a free inspection of the problem. Dropped the van off and the general manager Mike was wonderful to deal with. Received a phone call later that day saying they found the problem and he gave me a price which was less then i expected. Told me it may be done Thursday the 26th and he would call me when it was ready. I received the call around 11:30 Thursday that the van was ready. Went to pick it up and was treated with the upmost respect. It is wonderful to be treated with such kindness. I highly recommend this place . A big Thank you to Mike and the crew there. May God Bless you all.
I was told by another shop in Holly Hill, that the transmission work I needed, would cost about 2200.00. But thank God for Mike and his team at Aamco, at 134 Mason Ave in Daytona Beach. The small part, and labor only cost me $87.55. My family and friends are also excited about this team of honest people.
Mike was awesomeness..!!!Very honest, absolutely no problems..!!Very fast and extremely friendly..!! Definitely highly recommend..!!Thanks guys for the awesome work..!!
Like a lot of people, the last thing we expected was the transmission failing in our 03 Ford F150.Mike at Aamco made sure we had all the discounts and coupons available to make the repair as affordable as possible. The rebuild was prompt and done right the first time.
Fast, Courteous and friendly service. The problem I had was created by another Aamco shop, but they covered the repair with true concern for me. From here on, this is the shop I will be going to. Mike and Mark are true professionals.
Michael and his crew did a great job!!
I took my vehicle to get my transmission diagnosed and they gave me and honest answer to the problem. The previous places i took it to told me its gonna run me over $200 when it wasnt even a major problem! Aamco is a great place that has true honest hardworking mechanics that wont scam you. They truely work to their best ability repair your problem without putting a hole in your pocket. I would refer any family to aamco. Customer for life!
I had a transmission rebuilt in Louisville 6 months ago and a part failed and at the trans.I took it to the place here in Holly HIll and had it worked on. They did all the work under the warrenty without question and could not have been nicer or more professional. I would recommend the the dealer here in HOlly Hill florida unconditionally. They inspected the car as well as made the repair. Im sure there are dealers that are less reputable and less trust worthy as in all chains but this place was top notch.
Try telling me I needed to go with a new transmission when I didnt have to go with a new transmission
The man there took the time to explain what was wrong with my vehicle and we very fair.
Great Service very customer friendly.😊
Great deal and got my car fixed pretty quick
Dont expect the price they quote you to be the price youll pay. Add $6-700 dollars!
Mehh
Good
