Amazing little Cat Cafe! The coffee was fantastic and well priced, the people who work there are so sweet, and the whole place was stylish and clean.But we all know the main attraction is the cats! They have so many sweet cats and a great place for them all to hang out and play. I loved meeting them all in such a comfortable space, it really lets you get to know their personalities in a way a typical shelter doesnt. The cat lounge really lets their personalities shine!We ended up adopting an adult cat and you can tell he was socialized well in his time there because he is all about affection! We are over the moon in love with him and the adoption process was thorough but not painful. You can tell that they really care about the welfare of the cats in their care.If Im in Dayton again, were totally stopping by for a cup of coffee and some hangout time with the kitties!

I adopted two kittens from here about a month ago, and was incredibly satisfied with both the cafe and the adoption experience! The coffee was great, the cats were fun, and the staff was helpful throughout the adoption process. I applied and got the cats the day I visited and they were given booster shots and an exit checkup by a vet tech before leaving. Would recommend.

It seems like it could be a nice place, especially for us cat lovers. It was a good idea to have a separate space for the kitties - it protects both humans and cats. My suggestion is make the atmosphere feel more welcoming. For example I was never acknowledged by any employee, not even the woman standing by the door when I walked in. I stayed for a while and had planned to make a purchase but I was disappointed that it didnt feel like a place I want to come to often. But give it a try; you may love it! 😺

Love it here. The employees are very nice and they have a great selection of drinks and treats. The old building is very charming as well. I can’t have a cat at home, but I’m happy to play with the cats here and support their mission.

My daughter and I had our first visit today and it was a great experience! We had a little trouble finding the parking area, but we called and the staff gave us directions. I love that if you order drinks they put them in insulated cups and the staff is amazing! The cat lounge is well laid out and the cats are adorable. I absolutely can’t say anything negative and I definitely recommend anyone who loves cats to visit.

This is really great place! They have very nice coffee and hot drink options as well as a cooler with cold drinks if you prefer. The food options pair nicely: vegan cupcakes, croissants, pretzels, cookies and others. It is pricey for me but no more than other similar places.Of course the real reason we went was to see the cats! The cats are in a separate room accessible through an airlock type system to keep the little guys in. The room is surrounded by glass on two sides for people to watch from the cafe area if desired. There are many cat friendly perches, beds and hidey-holes. We loved the small sitting area on the floor with cushions to get a person closer to the fur babies. The atmosphere is cozy and laid back. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back! In fact I bought a membership because I knew before we got there it was our kind of place. I dont even particularly care for cats, and even I adore this place. The staff with warm and friendly, the place is full of cute kittens and cats, and you can take a little break from work and play with a cat at any moment.They adopt out the cats, and have homes upwards of 800, I believe? Thats also a great mission, and (I would add) a nice way to adopt a well-socialized kittie if youre in the market.Would highly recommend making a reso on their website beforehand.

This place is so cute and unique! Coffee was amazing (I suggest the Carmel and vanilla combo!) And staff was super friendly. Didnt expect the price to be in the cat-fe to be 10$ but I accept that its for a good cause. 😊 Its definitely a Dayton Gem.

Our first visit...not the last. Staff are fabulously friendly. My latte is yummy. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting. The kittens/cats are a delight and vary from the timid calico (adorable new arrival) to the proud tabby and the tiny sock footed feline who is curious and full of sass. We had 2 join us to curl up and rest as a few others came and played. They provide each visitor with a toy and a bit of treats to encourage full engagement between you and the furry companions. Recommend a pop in visit if you just want to relax or need a perk up or a for baby fix for those who arent able to have a pet at home...and those who are - they offer adoption services.

We found this place by accident, but were immediately smitten. We were promptly greeted by a lovely woman out of a side window, like Wizard of Oz! She took our drink order, and explained we could drink them on the 2nd floor dining area, or put our name on the list to enjoy our drinks with the cats! Love it! This place has an amazing vibe. The drinks were super delicious, the staff are so friendly and personable, and the cats! Would recommend 1000%.

I am so glad I tried this coffee shop! Great atmosphere and drinks! The prices are very reasonable as well. I originally didnt want to try it because I thought the whole place had cats, but it is only in one closed off section that you have to pay extra to get into. The rest of the place is very clean and there is no trace of cats anywhere. Between the upstairs and downstairs, there is a good amount of seating too! This is a unique place that is definitely worth checking out!

This was such a fun and cute place to visit! I stayed for 2 hours today and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are kind and pleasant and as long as you respect the cats theyre lovely and receptive to pets and playing! The atmosphere was calm and fun and the drinks were super tasty too! The best cat cafe! I drove an hour here from Columbus. Most of the cats are super friendly, cuddly and playful. The staff is BEYOND nice. The food/drinks are delicious! I 1000% recommend this cat cafe, I will most likely be adopting my future kitty from here in a few months.

This was my first and last time at this cat cafe. During Covid, you are only allowed to stay in your “assigned seats”- ours happened to be in the corner of the cafe. There weren’t a whole lot of cats that came to the corner and I was excited to pet the other cats but got told to go back to my assigned seat. The very least they could do is rotate the customers throughout each spot in the room so that they could have the opportunity to see all the cats. I was very excited to come here but left very disappointed.

A wonderful place to hangout, drink coffee, and play with cats!Compared to other coffee restaurants, most things on the menu are a great value.In order to be around the cats, (which are in a separate room) you have to pay a fee of $10 per person or $5 with a $25 annual membership. I personally feel that its worth every penny.Almost all of the cats are very friendly, and dont mind being pet.You can adopt any cat that doesnt live here. The staff are happy to answer any questions you have about adoptions.TL;DR, a good place to have coffee, a better place to play with cats, the purrfect place to do both :3

I love this place! YES you can pet cats here BUT theyre in a completely separate area with their own HVAC thats separate from the cafe portion...so if youre allergic, dont worry! The coffee drinks here are good, the staff is friendly, and the merch is on point! Cant wait to visit again next time Im in Dayton. This cat cafe funds TNVR efforts and rescue. Such a great cause, and very well done!

I spent an hour with the kitties in the cat room and loved it. Its a great place to grab a coffee (or drink) and kick back with the cats they have up for adoption.This place does excellent things for feral cats and also helping socialized cats find homes. Anyone can go to Gem City Catfé for coffee, but if you want to go in the cat room you will need advance reservations and it will cost $10 per hour - which goes towards vetting the adoptable cats, the TNR program, and keeping the rescue running.If you like cats, this is the place to be! You wont regret it!

The local cat cafe houses (at the time) 18 cats in a large room that you can interact with. During peak times, you are limited as to how much time you can spend with them, however, if you go during off peak times, they are more relaxed with this rule. All of the cats are adoptable (if one pulls your heart strings) except for the resident cats which have collars.In terms of coffee, they give you a reusable cup, and have an expansive menu with unique offerings.

Visited for the first time today!! Got to meet the floofs and enjoy playing with them. The Catfe is cozy and welcoming. Really enjoyed the mocha and meeting the team! When you first enter, it opens to the cafe and tables. The cats are in a separate room with tables and chairs. The litter boxes or in the basement so theres no smell or litter everywhere. Its a really nice place and Ill definitely be back. Theyre only allowing 10-12 people in the cat lounge at a time so the cats arent overwhelmed. They also recommend reserving a time online so know you can get in and to inform the visitor if itll be too busy. I also recommend going earlier in the day because the floofs were tired when I went at 7 in the evening. Have fun! Its a great time!!

If you love cats and coffee, go here! I visited around 10am on a weekday, it wasnt too crowded. Had an americano and a pastry that were both reasonably priced and delicious. The shop is super clean and modern. Its well-branded. They use sustainable containers by default (ceramic mugs, metal utensils, metal straws, etc).Its $10 to go into the cat space. You fill out a waiver on an iPad. The staff were polite and happy and explained all the rules. They let you spend just about as much time as you want in there. And it doesnt even smell like cat in there, so Im not sure how they keep it so clean, but it is.If Im ever in Ohio again I will be coming back!

Of all the places I have been to for coffee, I find myself enjoying the atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind coffeeshop the most. It has just the right amount of love, charm, and ambiance to make staying here enjoyable. Now let me explain why it only gets 4 Stars for a rating.First and foremost, the coffee is meh. Kind of burnt, bitter taste that really leaves you wanting more. I had a Cappuccino and a Latte and neither really stood our from each other. Both were steamed very airy and swiss cheese foam plagued both cups after only a few minutes. If the Italian style of a Cappuccino was what they wish to serve, its accurate, but the latte did not deserve such treatment. Perhaps I am too particular about how milk is steamed, but this is only because a well steamed glass-like foam will always taste better than a dry, burnt, bitter milk foam. Overall, if youre looking for excellent espresso coupled with sweetly steamed milk, then look elsewhere. Now, this is why I will be coming back again and again.This place is like Lego Land for cats. Yes, cats are the main focus for the store, but even a dog lover like myself will enjoy the company of a diverse crowd of felines. Honestly, if I loved cats, I would gladly pay the $10 per hour charge to sit among the animals while I work. It is $10 per person, per hour, so come prepared to spend some money, sign a waiver, and leave quickly if you mean to bring friends into the animal area. Im sure its a perfect way to spend an afternoon if one has the time for it!The decor within the shop is quaint with a great amount of charm. From the cat themed mugs they give for your coffee to the entire upstairs lounge showcasing local artwork from local artists within the Dayton Art community. It looks and feels as though youre at home, away from home. Bathrooms are located upstairs and downstairs respectively. There is also a merchandise front near the register that sells a wide variety of gear ranging from coffee equipment to cat-loving swag. Parking is found behind the store, which is great as it doesnt congest traffic.The best place to relax with friends in Dayton, Ohio hands down. Still, if you want really good coffee, try somewhere else.

Visited during the preview and I cant wait for Gem City Catfe to officially open! The staff is dedicated and so passionate! They completely transformed the building and it looks amazing! The resident cats are also super sweet and its a great place to drink coffee and relax with cats.

This is one of my all time favorite places in Dayton. The place is clean and bright, music isn’t too overwhelming, and the staff is friendly. It costs money to get into the cat lounge portion, but you can look at the cats from the outside without paying. If you get a membership it is cheaper. You don’t have to book a time to go, but if you have more than 2-3 people, it would be best to book a time online before you go just to ensure it’s not too crowded.

Coffee shop in downtown Daytons historic St Annes district. They have a great selection of coffees, baked goods, bottled drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. But the real draw is the cats. They have three resident felines; the rest are brought in for adoption from locals rescue organizations. You can book time in the kitty room ahead or as a walk-in, but you may have to wait during busy times. Only 12 people at a time are permitted in the cat area, to avoid stressing the cats. The cat area is sealed off from the cafe and has its own air system, so even if you have allergies it shouldnt bother anyone. They also have swag and cat-related items for sale.

What a lovely little catfe! The staff were friendly and helpful, the whole building inside is immaculately clean, I cant stress how impressed I was enough. Even the air smells refreshing and clean, you can tell its a higher quality due to their great filtration system. My friend who has cat allergies had no reactions while she was there, until she went into the cat room for an half hour/ 1hr. (She couldnt help it they were too cute and had to pet them)The food/ drink prices arent too bad considering the good quality. They have an adorable cat merchandise section. The upstairs was spacious and houses local art on display for sale. I will definitely be going back. The catfe has parking behind the store.

What an excellent little place! I went here for a perfect mid-day date. I knew itd be fun to see all the cats and everything, but I was blown away by the smart and friendly staff, and by the excellent coffee! I definitely wasnt expecting the espresso to be this high quality.Beyond that, the Catfe is charming, modern, and clean! Its clear that the staff take care of the cats much more than most shelters. The cats have room to play and climb, plenty to eat and drink, and have you seen the custom Wright Flyer cat tower?? So cool.The cats were friendly, albeit sleepy. None were mean or overtly aggressive. Plus, they seem to get adopted quite frequently. Ill be back, even if its just to drink some coffee, work on my laptop, and pet a cat or two.

Run by dedicated, animal-loving and well educated staff with a history in animal rescue. The cafe is adorable and very well designed. If you love cats and coffee, this is the place for you. Highly recommend studying in the upstairs area or getting work done there. Its well decorated and features local artists and their work. Then take a break and pet some kitties. Lots of fun events and plenty of adoptable cats. They do great work with local Trap Neuter Return programs and are even starting a low cost vet clinic for the area, which is HUGE for feral kitties around Dayton!Give them your business. Theyre good folks and take amazing care of the kitties.

What a great Cafe! Even without the enrichment of cute cats this cafe does a great job with their coffee and baked goods on its own! The space is cozy and well lit with plenty of quiet workspace if that’s what you are looking for. The cat room is fairly reasonably priced for a donation and an hour of play time with the cats. The facility is vey clean and there is a sanitation station for when you exit.

Recently went for the first time since the covid closure. Lots of precautions in place, including temperature taking and plastic dividers. I missed being able to move about the whole cat lounge, but totally understood keeping each group of visitors in separate areas. Plus, we still got plenty of interactions with the kitties as they still move about the whole lounge! Drinks were delicious and staff friendly as always. :)

Absolutely loved this place. I was slightly sceptical about a CATfe but it was pretty awesome. Kid loved the cats. My iced Chai tea was perfect, not too sweet. The vegan cupcake was a good treat as well. It was First Friday of a month so they had a food vender. Tonight was invoked, their vegan menu was killer as well.

Great coffee as well as a wonderful clean and cat friendly visitation area. This is a wonderful place! Register and schedule a time slot for visiting the kitties ahead of time to guarantee a spot. Only so many people may be in the cat area at a time. Slots are for an hour. The seating area for coffee in the cafe, outside of the cat area can be tight, especially since this Cafe is busy.

If you love coffee, tea and cats, this is the place to go! The chai is exceptionally amazing as are all the baked goods, which are locally made. Most of the cats are adoptable( three of them are the house cats) and every visit is a new experience. The cat room is separate from the rest of the café, so even if you are allergic, you can still view the cats through the glass windows. An hour visit in the cat room is $10, which might seem steep, but that cost covers all the expenses of taking care of the kitties and their educational programs. Its also not a timed visit; if youre there during a less busy time, you can spend more than an hour inside the cat room. You can also buy a yearly membership for $25 and the cost is cut in half. I did that after my first visit and Ive been many times since.Visiting on a weekday morning is the best time to go as you are often alone or only in the cat room with one or two others. The room only allows for 12 people max, so if you plan on a weekend or weeknight visit, I highly suggest reserving your spot online.The café also has an art gallery upstairs and the option to reserve the space for a small party. Parking is a little tricky, being located in an older neighborhood downtown, but there are a few spots in their lot behind the building. You have to drive up a small alley so be aware of that too! But theres plenty of street parking around the block as well.One more thing: if youre an environmentally conscious person, youll be happy to know they use sustainable, reusable mugs. If youd like, go one step further and purchase one and get a discount on your drink if you remember to bring it.All in all, its a wonderful place to visit often and heaven on Earth if youre a cat lover.

If you love cats and coffee this is a great place. You can even adopt the cats you play with. There is way more room to interact with the cats than most other adoption places. The best part is the staff cares about the cats and want the best for them.

Very cool environment! The coffee was great and the cat lounge is awesome. Dahlia and I hung out while I was grading papers. There were some kids in the lounge but they were very respectful of the cats, who enjoyed all the love and attention. It has been awesome watching Gem City Catfe build and progress through social media and Im regretting not going in sooner!!!

We adopted a cat from here and it was a very positive experience. The cafe staff care deeply about the kittens/cats and are very careful with approving adoption requests. The facility is very well designed and has an area for you to study upstairs or to simply grab a drink as the cat area is strategically separated from the rest of the cafe. Highly recommend this cafe!

My boyfriend and I visited here for the one year anniversary party and we had a purrrfect experience! I have been wanting to come here since they opened, but I moved to Findlay, OH for school and I had to wait for a good time to make the trip. Once I heard the one year anniversary party was this month, I reserved two spots online and made the journey from Columbus with my boyfriend. We began our visit with some earl grey tea and mocha latte and then headed upstairs for some (awesome) catered appetizers and cake. 🤩 Once our reserved time to see the cats started, we were in absolute KITTY HEAVEN. 😻 Each kitty had such a lovely personality and they were scattered around the lounge area either sleeping, playing, or wandering. A man gave us some treats to give out and this definitely attracted a crowd! 😂 Gertrude and Meowrville Wright were my two favorite floofers. Ultimately, my boyfriend and I plan to return in the future.

Really enjoyed my coffee and chilling with the cats but I was not aware that you had to spend more money by the hour that you spend with the cats. That was kinda a bummer and led to me spending way more money than anticipated.
