We have been doing business with Ivey Lumber for a long time. We usually call ahead to ask whats currently in stock for select lumber. Great customer service.

Staci and Kyle were so helpful to us. Best customer service I have ever gotten at a lumber yard. They went out of their way to make sure that their staff cut the wood exactly like i neeed it. I will never go anywhere else but Ivy. Thanks so much for your help. It saved me!

Iveys is a convenient neighborhood lumberyard/hardware store in the northeast part of Dallas. Theyve been in business forever and have a friendly group of employees. Theyre a good and necessary alternative to the Home Depots and Lowes.

Came into to get trim pieces for my door, a guy that was there ask what we looking ask him but only answer back with one word back, as if he couldn’t suggest anything else. Where is the customer service in that? Then he talk to us as if we knew what we wanted nope nothing and the manager as well no customer service or nothing. I’m a manager myself and i would not treat my customers like that. Left so uncomfortable and especially with my mother that couldn’t communicate with them. Horrible experience seem like the only people that know how to give customer service are the people working in the back house.

I shopped at Ivey for the first time, yesterday. Heres what I liked.1. They stack their unfinished lumber properly: laying flat as to maintain straightness, and to reveal and protect the end-grain — not standing up, as to save horizontal shelf-space and to promote warping. Also, all their lumber is protected from the weather, under cover of a building.2. As a result, their lumber is straighter than any other seller Ive visited. Among the scores of cedar boards I looked through, I saw a few slightly bowed ones and a couple of slightly crowned ones, but thats it: no twisters at all, and no cupping big enough to give me pause. Hows your luck been at the big-box stores in this regard?3. They carry the proper dimensions of lumber: their 1x appearance boards are the industry-standard 3/4 thick — not 11/16 or even 5/8, as they tend to be at the Big Orange & Big Blue. (Have you ever tried to repair a 3/4-thick fascia by inserting a length of 5/8-thick board? #&@*! Never again!)4. Their prices are close to what the typical price was before the Obama tariff-increase and major wildfires. (I saved about 35% on cedar boards at Ivey, as compared to not only the Big Orange and Blue but also the lumber yard down the street!) This is mainly thanks to their high volume of soft lumber on hand; methinks its also a reflection of high ethics.5. Their service was exceptional. Every employee was genuinely, pleasantly responsive or proactive in their assistance. They seemed highly knowledgeable, as well.Only one negative (if you can call it that): I wish they were open later on weekdays.

Just popped in one day to pick up Benjamin Moore paint and I was so pleasantly surprised by the incredibly kind and helpful staff. Immediately I was greeted and helped with finding what I had been driving all over Dallas looking for! Such a wonderful atmosphere, I would highly recommend this store and their staff!

Its a little pricey, but they carry a lot of things you cant get at home Depot, and the service is wonderful. The staff is really knowledgeable as well. They also work directly with several manufacturers and suppliers giving them the ability to get directly ordered items quickly.

Since I was a little kid these guys have been great. The two brothers parted way years ago with their two locations but they were always great. My first building material account for roofing materials was here.

Ive been doing business here over 30 yrs. Prices good. Service even better. Go in place order at lumber counter then pay pull around back and they load you up. No cart fighting thru store. Bigger selection of siding & trim than big box stores. I highley recommend them. Many contractors prefer them.

Not only did they have exactly the name-brand I was looking for (Harris Roach Dust), it was also about $4 cheaper here than on Amazon! How many times can you say that?
