It was our first time at the restaurant and the food was yummy! I got the strawberry OJ mimosa and it was lovely though a bit small. I loved the nutella crepes. My boyfriend got chocolate chip pancakes and he really enjoyed them! The benedict with pesto I got was so so good. A perfect meatless option. The potatoes were a little too soft for my liking but had good flavor. The atmosphere was great and the (women’s) restroom was clean. The prices were a bit on the pricier side but I’ll definitely be coming back for the eggs benedict I had.
Environment was cute, food tasted good not great, portions were great for the price. We came in on a Saturday morning with a wait and were seated in 30 minutes which was great.I will say the one thing that did throw us off a little was our waiter. He was trying to joke with us, but it was a little much and kinda kept us on the edge of our seats as we ate.Overall, I had a good experience, but nothing really wowed me.
Some friends of mine invited me to have breakfast today at this restaurant. Probably one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever eaten at in years in Dallas Texas.Friendly greeting at the front entrance, we were seated immediately. The server came over immediately was very attentive but not overly attentive.I ordered the El Torero Scrambler, which was very good, with the oven potatoes( the potatoes could have had a little more flavor to them, but they were still tasty. The coffee is good, strong and with a nice flavor. Yolk will definitely be my go too place for breakfast for now on. Its about 30 minutes from where I live, but worth the drive!
Should really be 3.5 stars...Pros - the service was fantastic! Our server was very attentive and had good recommendations. Restaurant was clean and neat. Food was out quickly. The pastries that we got were very good! The cinnamon rolls and red velvet French toast were amazing!Cons - The actual food wasn’t very good. The chorizo on the eggs Benedict was bland with and odd texture. The country potatoes were undercooked.Overall it’s a little pricey for what you get.
Got the family brunch deal delivered for around $36.00 including tax (not tip). I was expecting meager portions and ended up with enough food to satisfy a hungry teenager.Eggs arent transported in a way that keeps their warmth, but 10 seconds in the microwave fixes that.Otherwise, everything else was well cooked, well seasoned, and well received.
Delicious breakfast! We ordered a build-your-own omelet with pancakes and seasoned potatoes. I loved the pancakes, they were soft, sweet and tasty. We also got banana bread with nananas on top. This is the best banana bread Ive ever tried. It tasted homemade and with a strong banana flavor. The cofee was good as well. The service was excellent, the server was very attentive and friendly. Also the place and the restrooms were very clean.I fully recommend this place.
Not worth the price. I usually like to go to first watch because their breakfast is way better than yolk’s in my opinion but decided to come here this morning because my hubby likes their pancakes so we came here to make my husband happy. First off paid almost $40 for 3 breakfast. Scrambled eggs were bland as it can be. Seasoned potatoes weren’t seasoned at all. They need to learn from first watch on how to make seasoned potatoes. Pancakes dry as Sahara desert. My husband wanted to come to yolk for pancakes and he was super disappointed. Even my husband said we aren’t coming to yolk anymore. No amount of syrup made the pancake better that’s how dry it was. The toast was even bad, like how do you mess up toast? The only thing toasted on my slice of bread was the crust. Service was decent although it took a while for the food to arrive. I usually do not write reviews. This is my first review in my 30 years of life, but this is how disappointed we are but I would hate to have another family waste their money at this establishment.
I love Yolk, I have since I stumbled upon it a few years ago when my family went to Downtown Fort Worth and I wasnt feeling all you can eat ribs.Ive only ever ordered the South Beach. I love the fruit factor with the tart yogurt and the flavorful granola and crunch of the walnuts. YUM! I also love getting to choose a muffin. Its such a treat!!My family loves Yolk. We dont love Dallas so well probably stick to our regular stop in Fort Worth but both locations are super consistent. Our most recent visit was during Covid and was by surprise. I had to drive into Dallas for something and this happened to be right there so we HAD to go have brunch. We ate outside it was nice but cold.Service was really good as was the food. The only downside was that only 1 of the 3 or 4 outdoor heaters were on so my companion was colder than they would have liked. Annnd.... I watched several people enter the restaurant via the closed door they had to open and not once in the time we were there was it sanitized and the waiter was using this door bringing things in and out without any hand washing. That was very disappointing.
Awesome place, service was excellent and the food omg amazing!!!!. This is the second time my friends and I stop at your restaurant and I got so overwhelmed on how everything is done to perfection. Staff super friendly and respectful. Feel proud of your place and staff. Will definitely come back. With more family and friends.
Dined here with my daughter and this place was super busy!! Despite that the staff was upbeat, well organized, & very friendly. We enjoyed our Mimosas and breakfast very much. Will definitely be back!!
OMG! THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL. SUCH A LARGE AND DIVERSE MENU. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS.
Excellent service. Great food. I highly recommend Yolk!
Fast, tasty, and comfortable! Great dine in experience. Mimosas are on point. The nutty monkey is the move. 10/10 would eat again
You like eggs? Well youre IN FOR A RIDE IN HERE! Still got 2 things to comment about: 1. Gotta watch you glasses. Remember the egg smell sticks pretty easily to the cleaning utensils. 2. Fix the ceiling. We can see into the construction in a section of the restaurant. Regardless, the food is good! Will pay another visit to update on this review!
Ordered all bacon no sausage but was given sausage. Ordered soft scrambled eggs but they were anything but soft. Food was lukewarm.
Awesome breakfast spot. The waiter was awesome!! Very patient with us. It was a little overwhelming with all the options but only because everything sounded and looked so good. The pistachio cappuccino is a must. My friend really like the horchata cold brew too. The breakfast was *chefs kiss*. Really good breakfast spot. Pricey but good. Also, I would maybe skip the strawberry mimosa for a regular one. Could barely taste the real strawberries unfortunately.
Friendly staff, we ordered the pot roast benedict with a single red velvet French toast, and an order of green chilaquiles with a Nutella crépe. Two different cultures and they nailed both. The sweets are VERY sweet and the fruits are very ripe.
Big portions and quick service. Really good food.
Visitor here: Based on one time eating here it was only okay the pancakes texture was like cornbread. And was not impressed with the mimosas: but the waiter was nice and the environment was cool. Wished I could’ve gave another try. Hopefully I can update in the future.
Ordered a Benedict Caprese and potatoes and when I went to take a bite of the potatoes there was bacon on it - I am vegetarian.Terrible experience. Never coming back.EDIT> I have been thinking about editing my review after a few days, because I am really upset about how this establishment answered my review. I dont normally review places that I go to but I decided to do about this one. Also I wrote my first review when I was at on my way home crying for having that experience. The restaurant claimed it was potato skin that was on my plate, but it was confirmed by my family members that were there with me and as well the waitress that apologized (she was very nice) that it was in fact bacon.Nobody other than my waitress went to my table to say something, and no I didnt talk to the manager at said time, I was too busy going to the bathroom to throw up, as can be confirmed by one of your staff member since he was there cleaning the bathroom when I entered.I never refused to talk to the manager, again, not once another staff member came to my table or asked to speak to me or my family.I understand that it was a Sunday and the restaurant was too busy but that doesnt change the fact that there was bacon on my plate.I am deeply frustrated about this. I should have taken a picture or asked for the manager (yes, that was my mistake, and also for trusting this establishment). But do not blame on me for something that it was your restaurants fault.Thank you so much for the incredible experience.
This particular location closed at 3 p.m. we arrived at 2:38. We immediately asked the manager if they were still sitting people for dine in. He assured us they were and showed us to our seat on the patio. It took almost 20 minutes to get our menu and drinks. So by this time its closing time we havent ordered our food yet and we were getting the vibe from everyone that they wanted us to leave. Except for the manager. But he could have helped out more than he did. We had to ask a busboy if we needed to order inside or if they were going to send a server out. The manager could have taken or drink orders but he didnt instead a server came out eventually but by this time we had been there almost 20 minutes. We felt rushed the whole time now mind you if they had gotten us our drinks and taking our orders faster we would have been ordering well before the 3 p.m. closing time. Overall the food tasted old the coffee was very stale and it was just a very poor subpar experience from beginning to end. I had wanted to go to this restaurant for quite some time and almost left when it took 15 to 20 minutes to get our menus and drink orders. In retrospect we should have left before ordering. It obviously would have made the staff happier and we would have gotten better food and better service at probably anywhere else including the Jack-in-the-Box drive-thru. I understand management may I see this and try to reach out to me. I would encourage you to instead use your time to pass along this information to your staff. Because this is one customer that you will never see again no matter if you offer me a free meal a refund or whatever, Im done.
Delicious FRESH mimosas. Juice squeezed in-house, and a good amount of champagne added. The service was friendly but kind of slow- chocking it up to Covid right now so our server was overwhelmed with all of the people wanting to get out and socialize again- got busy. We ordered the breakfast burrito and West Coast Crepes. The burrito needed some seasoning. It was definitely a little one note. Additionally, the tortilla was a bit card-boardey. The crepes are slightly sweet with a fresh savory filling. Loved them, just wished the crepes were a bit thinner. The star of the show was the crispy fried potatoes- AMAZEBALLS. They redeemed the entire visit. Will go back again because we HAVE had a good experience there before, it was just before Covid. Previously, had the chicken and waffles. I HIGHLY recommend these!!!! Bacon studded waffles, amazingly fried chicken with a fried egg over the top. It was mouthwatering and wonderful. Good bloody Mary’s too.
Not sure how many times a week I eat here. Fantastic service and FANTASTIC FOOD. My usual plate is the Yolk Combo and I alternate the standard waffles for red velvet french toast, french toast or hey the waffles. The sausage is absolutely tasty and the thick cut bacon is perfect with pancakes and syrup. The syrup doesnt make you wish you hadnt poured it on. Food is always tasty and quickly served. If you havent tried this great not just for morning breakfast spot you are truly missing a great. The red velvet is perfecto.
Loved everything. Our waiter was amazing. The food was fantastic! I left tipsy off the mimosas.
Chilaquiles were very good....glass of apple 🍎 juice is like a shot of tequila...
Rating 4 not 5 just because its busy (not their issue though). Perfect place for breakfast with many options and customizable ones. Food and service was great - sat at the bar since it was just a friend & I and the wait was longer. Tried the custom scrambler so I get my usual breakfast vegetables in - broccoli was cooked properly with the egg, along with the turkey sausage, mushroom (cubed not sliced), and green onion. It came with both potatoes and toast (many options, I got whole grain. Grits and such also options) which is a lot for me but was delicious. The jam with the toast was amazing - there were whole strawberries and blackberries, and it was delicious (Ill be checking if you can buy a jar later). Split the mini waffles with my friend and they were fine. Her salmon & spinach was amazing as well, would also recommend - the light sauce was great.
Awesome brunch spot! Very busy, parking can be tough and wait can be long for a table. Menu has a variety of breakfast and lunch. Food was very good and price is a little high but portions are very large. My bf and I split the country skillet with 2 eggs and a side of pancakes. They also have carafes of mimosas! We highly recommend the strawberry mimosa. We definitely would come back!
I put my name on the wait list and was told the wait would be 30-45 minutes. After more than two hours, still no table! (According to their system, I had progressed from 16th in line to 4th). Something was clearly broken there… surely they turn over more than 12 tables in 2 hours.
Quality food, good service, and cozy and casual atmosphere. Went on a Saturday morning around 8-8:30; was not busy so got seated right away. I had the Santa Fe Frittata and Cheesy Egg Sandwich. Both were good (frittata needs more seasoning though) and I recommend them if you try this place out but nothing special about them. The sandwich comes with seasoned potatoes (need more potatoes) and the frittata comes with pancakes which were also good. The price is fair and the parking is no trouble at all considering there being a parking garage across from it.
The line was long and the wait was 45 minutes on a Saturday at lunch time so I was expecting a lot. But the food was only ok, not great, not as good as it looks. I had a cappuccino which was good but not special and they couldn’t make it a breve which is a sign that they aren’t too serious about coffee. If you want some good pancakes, just make them at home. These are not the pancakes you’re looking for. I also had a scramble, it was ok but I wouldn’t get it again. This place is acceptable but not worth the wait.
Best coffee in Dallas! Hash was fresh and omelet was to order. Will make this place a regular.
We came here to give it a shot based off the reviews. After eating here we won’t be coming back and I don’t recommend anyone eating here. The sandwich I ordered, came out very soggy and super greasy. It was literally mushy bread. The fries with it were extremely bland, and they didn’t even have any salt whatsoever. My girlfriend ordered one of the special fruit plates, and the fruit came out almost frozen. It was so cold she couldn’t eat it. Not only to add to that, the water was unfiltered, and tasted straight out of a sink. I couldn’t even drink it because It tasted so bad. To sum this up, we came with high hopes and expectations, but this place will not be somewhere we plan on returning too and I don’t think anyone should have to experience it either.
I don’t ever post any reviews for anything, but service today was horrible and it was our first time here. We were brought to our table, sat and drinks order. We came in before rush time to prevent the long wait and to get back to our office before 1pm. I notice that everyone around us were getting serve their food, after 40 or so minutes I asked the waiter to check on our food.. well it wasn’t that the kitchen crew didn’t have it ready- it was that the waiter failed to get our meals on time to us. We got serve cold food with no silver ware, when we asked for the silverware he yelled and said the host should have gotten us that when seated. I mean okay I guess, blame it on the host blame it on the kitchen crew. No sir, you are to serve us kindly and respectfully and the waiter did not do that. I’m sure the food is very good but unfortunately we didn’t get to get the full experience. I almost felt discriminate not so for being Latina but almost for not looking like we have a 3 million dollar home around the corner.
Chicken & Waffles are done perfectly at this place. My server, Fig, provided great service. Thanks Yolk!
The food was great! The pancakes I must admit were a little different in taste, but they were enjoyable. Jody the manager and our waitress Claudia were extremely polite and professional! Everything was fresh to order in the meal was great! There was a long wait times, but it seems to be a pretty popular restaurant!
Outstanding and exceeded all expectations. For once a place finally made grits right and their coffee was rich. The decor, service, and menu were exceptional and unique. I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, tomato and fried capers. 😋
Always Cheerful, Clean, and Bustling are their Saturday Mornings with Good Service and Solid Breakfasts - On This Visit: hot strong Coffee; delicious Corned Beef Hash; wonderful Empire Baking Co’s Scones; but, disappointing was their Eggs Benedict, with the english muffin being cold, and no taste to the Hollandaise - Hoping for the best next time!
Oh my gosh definitely a fave for breakfast! Always jumping..super busy. Cuz its awesome!
The food was good and the service was OK. We were iffy at first because it took some time for someone to come greet us when we were seated even though it wasnt busy. It wasnt way too long, but a little longer than normal at restaurants. After that we were well taken care of and the food came out in a very timely manner. Would definitely try the place again.
Amazing service!!! Matt the waiter was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and gave excellent recommendations. His customer service was top notch. He probably should be a manager but hey 🤷🏾♂️ Im just a customer.
Good Food. Enjoy It!
So good loved the food definitely adored our server and the manager will be back💪🏾
Please get rid of the polystyrene take out boxes. Please make your serving sizes slightly smaller because your customers are leaving SO MUCH left overs to trash, or over consuming. Less wastage might mean 2 serves of ordinary pancakes and some juices wouldn’t cost $40! Take the lead Yolk and lift your game.
Reliable breakfast spot. Classic American palette
Omar at Yolk reminded me what exceptional service was. For so long I’ve gotten use to subpar service that my expectations when dining had lowered and I forget that dinning can be an experience. We were seated quickly, checked on frequently and never had to wait. The few times we needed something we simply looked up and Omar came to us right away. He was aware of his surroundings and in tune with his customers. It was such a great experience, that ended with his delightful humor.
Food was mediocre at best, the best thing was the toast. The sandwich’s were basically grease pattys, service was pretty bad, never even got a water refill. I’m not coming back.
Service was good but the quality of food just wasnt where I expected it to be.
Not the place for a quiet breakfast! Between the clattering of plates, the tinny muzak system, and the mask the waiter had to wear, we couldnt hear what he had to say. Food was only ok, nothing special. Coffee was good.
Its a bit expensive for breakfast but the plates are pretty big and the ambiance was nice, they did take super long to take my order
Wonderful! Much broader menu than I expected.
Yolk is a nice, clean semi intimate environment. They offer strawberry orange juice that is fresh squeezed with strawberry puree that is so delicious. That menu offers traditional and brunch inspired option which is great. It is now on my list of favorite.
Great food! Good service! Would go again
Very slow service...food good though
For the price, not worth it.Crepes were undercooked, and leathery.fresh fruits over the crepes were scantly present!!
Place was really warm inside. Had to ask for coffee twice. Maybe they were short staff. Service not very good
Love the avocado toast with salmon and red velvet French toast! My fav waiter is Matt, best service and personality. Will sit in his section again.
Delish! Wow, soooo good!!
Excellent service and great food
This place has a solid menu snd is a step above any breakfast diner. The service here was excellent and I will be returning very soon. I food was very fresh and everything had flavor. One of my favorite items were the sausage links because they had excellent flavor and were nicely browned to perfection.
At yolk,the food is yummy
Leaving a five star review for our five star experience. Their food was phenomenal — you must try their grilled cheese! Toddler ate everything on her plate (yay!) and husband was in awe as well. Their strawberry orange juice was delicious and a hit amongst all family members. Pricing was affordable, but ranged higher than nearby breakfast spots. Clean, friendly environment and fun menu options!
It’s been Months since we have been able to sit down at a restaurant so this morning we made the drive from Arlington and what a pleasant surprise this place is. The food is delicious the prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic. We had Omar as our server and he was very attentive and timely. We will be back!!! Thank you again for making our meal memorable.
Bad service. Unprofessional employee. Delay your service. Never more
Great breakfast. It would have been the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten also, BUT it has cream cheese icing. We as a whole need to stop this. All frosting should be is powdered sugar and water. No more cream cheese. This pastry was a work of art. Light. Fluffy. Perfect cinnamon paste in between layers. Then nasty *#$ cream cheese taste. The juxtoposition of in flavors is not appreciated. If I could close every cinnabun store I could. I would. I hate what they have done to the cinnamon roll culture. That being said that is the only fault I was able to find in this place and it is a matter of taste. Id suggest they give you options of cinnamon roll topping. If not I may change my review to 1*. Thank you.
