My wife and I come here weekly for our date night. The service is prompt, the happy hour is THE best in town (3.50 beers?!) and the empanadas (spinach all the way!!!) are so so fresh and tasty. Manny is one of the most attentive and friendly servers we have ever had, and we enjoy seeing him weekly. Also - fresh pastries!??! SO good!! Ask for Manny!!!
I was visiting the Culver City farmers market today and saw that they had a little booth outside their bakery near the other vendors. So after we got done with the market, we went to get their baked empanadas. They were really pretty and looked delicious, so I got four kinds: two spinach artichoke, spicy beef, tomato basil and chicken & mushroom.I liked the spinach one but the chicken and beef were really disappointing. I also got some sprinkle cookies and shortbread cookies and was overcharged because the woman at the register actually dropped one of the cookies from her tongs and didnt notice that it had fallen. So I was short one but no big deal, I didnt want my daughter eating two cookies anyway. *Shrug* Shortbread cookies were decent, nice and buttery.Overall, customer service was good, friendly but I probably would not revisit.
I love this place! Ive come here for about 10 years and its always so delicious. The food is simple but so flavorful and so well done. They have a great indoor/outdoor space where its nice to sit outside and feel the wonderful sun on my face. This place draws a very lovely, down to earth crowd. Which is nice because some of the places in downtown can be very pretentious. Ill always come back here!
Came to grand casino with some friends on a whim thanks to their enormous outdoor seating area and it ended up being quite a pleasant surprise! We had originally planned on just having a beer but their happy hour food specials sounded too good to pass up. We ordered sweet potato fries, a sort of cheese/meat plate, and an empanada. All were delicious and great prices during happy hour but to be honest even their regular menu doesn’t seem too spendy. Our waitress was helpful and personable and still was able to be attentive while they got busier. Regardless of the time this seems like a wonderful place to get some Argentinian food and look forward to going in and grabbing some things from the bakery next time.
Yummy Cafe con Leche and breakfast croissant sanchwich. Great service and tasty breakfast.
I like the empanadas and Ive also had the breakfast burrito which Id get again. The coffee and beers ate good too. Great atmosphere and service, a little bakery inside with assorted pastriesand baguettes. Outdoor seating as well.
Stopped here spontaneously and was very pleasantly surprised, even as a vegetarian. My companion said it was the best meal hes had in LA!
Parilla mixto for two is a must with a bottle of Trapiche malbec! Authentic Argentine bbq!! Highly recommended!!
Their breakfast burritos are EVERYTHING! Like someone truly puts their heart and soul into those tortillas. And their empanadas, and their almond croissants, and their muffins... which are most of what I’ve had there so far. It’s a bit unassuming, but if you go once, you’ll keep coming back. Great service, great food, honestly fantastic prices, too.Again, can’t reiterate enough... get the breakfast burrito! I’ve had a few from around the culver area and this one is it.
Is it me? Or have the Empanadas changed? I love this place and always stop by often to buy Empanadas for the office and lately we’ve noticed that the last few times we’ve ordered the beef empanadas are different now, in flavor and they no longer have the egg, olives, veggie and spices like before. I hope they go back to their original recipe.
Was disappointed. What I wanted was already premade ready to heat in a microwave and serve.
Great price, service, and food. The real deal
Have taken many, many friends and family, always consistently good, great service under Clemente, open every day, long hours, best coffee, pastry, empanadas, steak, lentil soup, can go on and on. Visit at least once a week.
Was hard to get a cake made on short notice. Tastes as good as it looks.
This place is wonderful. Super friendly staff, great food, killer happy hour. Dont miss out!
Grand Casino is THE Argentinian place to hit up. If youre nostalgic for dulce de leche or alfajores - this is the spot. They also do themed cookies for all the holidays! They are always open and tend to be the only open spot early in the AM here in downtown Culver City.
I think it’s time to remodel, place is dated and dirty with dust on the lighting and floor, and restrooms are gross and smell too. Not a good experience this time around and I’ve been coming here since 2007.
Delicious breakfast and unlimited mimosas for a great price. We will definitely be coming back again.
The steak and eggs breakfast is really good. I love the chimichurri tacos and garlic fries. Friendly service.
Best empanadas I’ve ever had! This place has been a regular spot for me for years, but now I’ve moved out of the neighborhood. I’ll miss this place the most. Help ‘em out in these corona times, we don’t wanna lose them! The spinach and beef empanadas are my favorites but all of them are great. Tons of great desserts in the bakery too.
Are you wondering how a good Milanesa/Chimichurri/Empanada from Argentina tastes like? Come to this place. Nostalgia levels at a 💯.
Alright, don’t look at the menu and just order the breakfast burrito. You won’t be disappointed.
Breakfast Burrito here is really good. I’ll be coming back with company next time.
Great spot for tasty Argentinian food. I love this place, excellent food & service. Nothing but pleasant experiences here. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I liked.
Theyre have a really good argentina food and delicious desserts and the service was very nice for mayra and Julia thanks for be open
Restaurant good food and service, bakery good food and bad service..
One of the best breakfast burritos in culver
I know this place is already famous, but my oh my, their egg tart is a bomb!!! Seriously, the best egg tart I ever had! I went there on a holiday so the line up was OK. I think I waited about 20min or so around 6pm. Every layer of pastry crust is crispy and their filling is just about right sweetness with egg flavor. I dont know why I only got 4....Im definitely getting one box of dozen when i go back.
Had the pasta was delicious ordered extra shrimp, the best thing if you want dessert just ask the waitress to walk you to the bakery so you can pick what you want, and shell put it in your final order I recommend the frappachino with cookies.
Such a great spot and delicious bakery! Patricia is the best!
I have reviewed before but man the more food I try the more I love this place... And like Ive said Ive been coming there since I was a kid. Amazing food you can NOT go wrong.. and happy hour is currently 3-6
Delightful meal at a reasonable price. Lots of small touches of excellence that make a huge difference in the quality even though it seems about average on first glance.
One of my fav spots for delicious argentinian food. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. This place has an awesome feel to it.
Friendly staff, tasty coffee and snacks. Within downtown culver on Main, I believe.
This family-owned café is one of my favorites in all of Los Angeles, and I love getting to support small, local businesses. I found this place when I moved to the local neighborhood back in 2016. Their savory empanadas are incredible; I usually get the spicy beef. Delicious. I frequently go here for breakfast or brunch. The huevos rancheros are my favorite! They also serve Groundworks coffee. The prices are very competitive in a city like LA, and they remain one of the most affordable restaurants in downtown Culver City. During the pandemic, they have put out some nice outdoor seating, expanding into Main Street, with plenty of space between tables—it feels very safe. Sometimes, I have just gone down there to sit and enjoy a coffee and pastry in a nice, peaceful setting. I highly recommend and will continue to be a regular patron here.
Ham and cheese empanadas are heaven. The crust is perfect. The lemon merengue tart reminds me of my moms baking.
I like their spinach empanadas! However, If you are planning to go there it would be best to take Venice Blvd find parking and walk to Grand Casino. Also you could park in the public parking lot across the movie theater on Culver Blvd and walk because Main Street is totally blocked for now and part of Culver Blvd as well.
Great Argentine food, dessert, and pastries.
Argentinian food here - great. Visited on a Thursday. Ive had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back.
Visited Thursday morning and enjoyed sitting outside and the excellent food. We will be back soon!
Argentinian food and service here is excellent. Honestly my favorite evening place. The service was very kind and attentive. Prices were reasonable.
Baked goods were delicious (cookie, donuts, eclair). Gets busy pretty quickly so you will have to wait a couple of minutes before ordering. Espresso was perfect. Ive heard breakfast here is delicious-- have yet to experience it myself, but I plan on returning soon to try it.
My preferred spot for tasty argentinian food. I love this place, excellent food & service. The bill wont shock you.
Rich cakes and delicious cookies
One of my top spots for quality Argentinian food. I was so full. Definitely worth a return visit. The prices are fair for the quality of food.
Came in with my friend on a rainy Monday. Service was great. Ordered a cafe late that was made to perfection (I am usually not a fan of latte but felt the urge to try it with all the great reviews). I also saw that they have tango classes so I will definitely come back to try out the class.
The restaurant is excellent and the attention that Miss Julia gave us was an excellent person with a great sense of customer service, very helpful and with a lot of common sense who attended us and did not serve us in a special way Thank you very much, by restoring great casino and young Julia.
The food is always fresh and flavorful, employees hands out good service. I liked the cleanliness and atmosphere. Will come visit again.
Food was great. Will be back. Argentina style food.
Argentinian food... delicious. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. Certainly worth a return visit. The bill was appropriate for the quality. I see why this place has so many good reviews.
Grand Casino is brilliant: great coffee, great empanadas, and best of all great service. The folks who working mornings, when I most often go in, are incredibly friendly and efficient, and a big part of what makes this a lovely local spot. Been coming here for years, and will continue to do so as long as it keeps this kind of charm.
Argentinian food, my favorite treat. I was so stuffed. It has a cool atmosphere. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.
Love this place! Breakfast on the patio is lovely. And their bakery has great pastries and their empanadas are delicious.
Great empanadas!!!! . The staff are very friendly specially Julia. She takes care of customer with a smile. I will definitely recommend the Grand Casino in Culver City.
Incredible place to share with family, delicious pastries and excellent attention, especially Julia, Oscar and Maritza. Without a doubt, I will return.
Was visiting for a seminar and they were great! I was able to get a latte real fast and some excellent cookies!
The Argentinian pastries are delicious and authentic. Great spot and a long time favorite with the locals. This bakery cafe has tons of options as well other Argentine staples on menu.
Amazing empanadas!! The empanadas + soup lunch combo is a great deal!
This is the best place for fresh sandwiches. I do miss Ms. Lydia.Great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The cakes are just out of this world. It is lime a second home to me.SIDLODI
So happy this place opened up right next door!! Great food, coffee, ice cream, juices. Awesome breakfast spot. Its expensive and super hipster-y, but Ill take it as its the only place in this area to get breakfast and coffee. The olive oil eggs are my favorite!! Sooo good.
Pastry’s and empanadas are AMAZING. I recommend going here for breakfast. All the staff are very friendly. I love this place and I come here almost every weekend.
Argentinian food at this spot - super tasty. I was so full. Bring your appetite because portions are generous. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I loved.
Argentinian food and service here is above par. I will be bringing friends next time. Prices are fair. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I liked.
Excellent spot for quality argentinian food. The bill was good for what you get. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.
If I had more money, Id be awash in coconut cream pies, lemon cream tarts, and morning buns (with a hint of orange). A worthwhile treat, and easy to get if you show up a few minutes before it opens at 8 am.
Argentinian food and the feeling here is above par. Food was so delicious. The service was very welcoming and observant. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Argentinian food and the feeling at this location is great. Had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. Prices that wont break you.
One of my fav locations for tasty Argentinian food. i had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. this place has a great atmosphere.
Super bakery, love this place.. especially the pastries, low key gem of a spot.
Regularly partake in breakfast and have sampled numerous menu and bakery options. This Argentinian resturant serves great coffee, empanadas, sandwiches and other traditional dishes. The service is also excellent. The bakery will also do special orders.
Excellent location for quality argentinian food. had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again. prices are decent for the quality. kinda of like a cafe in phoenix that i enjoyed.
This place is great. There is an eating area outside just off the sidewalk thats fresh, clean and ideal for summer lounging. The interior decor is no nonsense, comfortable and has a warm atmosphere that is something out of old school films. Menu selection is small but the food is very good if rarely great... This is no dig plus Im a bit hard to please. The service is sometimes great and sometimes it is a bit of an afterthought but they are always friendly which makes up for a lot. I recommend their prosciutto and cheese plate as an appetizer or the mushroom soup. Bread is free, usually fresh and always delicious.
Not a single gluten free item and proud of it. When I inquired after options I was simply told, This is a bakery. Apparently, they didnt get the memo. Not the one about gluten free but the one about customer service. Luckily, theres two gluten free BAKERIES within a block and many other places offering service with a smile. The Americano was pretty good, however, it was served up in a dirty cup.
Excellent place for delicious Argentinian food. Everyone at our table was glad to be there. Prices were average for the menu.
Ok place for tasty argentinian food. Arrived at six, it was not packed. Definitely worth a return trip. This place has a cool atmosphere. This place has many good reviews for a reason.
My fav place for delicious argentinian food. good place to hang and eat some good food. i had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here.
I bought a 4 leches cake and it was dry. I’m so disappointed to have spend $35 on a cake we didn’t like. I thought it was going to be good because I always buy pastries and bread here. I hope you guys do something about it.
Vegans wouldnt be happy here, as nothing they produce fulfills the vegan-friendly diet. The bakery is delicious, though. Ive never seen flies around as one of the reviews said...The staff is also friendly, and even made change for me so I could get some quarters to do laundry.
Awesome place. lovely family bussines
Food is 4 star (maybe 5 for what it is?), service is 2 star.some of the workers are much more service oriented than others.. just get the food and get out, or else you might want to flip a table.
I ordered 3 1/4-sheet cakes for an office event. They were huge! Beautifully done and delicious. The prices were reasonable. Ive also been to the regular bakery several times and love their empanadas. They have a huge variety of cookies, too. Ive never actually been into the restaurant part, just the bakery. When I went to pick up my cakes early Friday morning, I locked my keys in the car and the regulars sitting around outside with their coffees were very nice and helpful.
Great Continental vibe with street seating. Take a trip back in time with an espresso at sunset. Would love to see more vegan items!
One of my fav places for Argentinian food. Went there on a Friday I think. The staff was helpful and kind.
Lunch empanadas, delish !!!3 empanada variety, Steak/ Chicken/ SpinachComes with a choice of soup or salad.I ordered a salad, lemon dressing was perfectly seasoned very light!
Loved it. The new waitress(Maria) is so friendly attentive and nice makes the whole experience wonderful. The soups are yummy and healthy and best empanadas in LA.
Ok spot for quality argentinian food. the service was very helpful and observant. the bill was appropriate for the quality. food is like a restaurant in jacksonville i liked.
Good site for Argentinian food. One of the best spots of its kind in the area.
