I had issues with my brakes after a road trip vacation. I took my car to a dealership and was quoted $580 to do the service. Jax was recommended to me and when I called I was quoted less then $300 after taxes. I was able to make an appointment quickly and the actual service took right around an hour. The owner was very professional and personable. I have recommended this business to many friends and coworkers since my visit.

We were in town from Indiana,, 7 hours from home and had engine trouble.. Jax got our Dodge Ram in, diagnosed the problem and fixed it for a reasonable price in less than one day after two other shops turned us away. 5 star ++

Ive always leased my car and havent owned a used car in a long time because I hate the maintenance of wear and tear on anything other than an oil change. I recently purchased a used BMW x1, and the brakes seemed off after 9 months. The dealer told me I should replace all the brakes. I prepared and saved and decided to have Jax do the work. They called me to pick it up and said the back brakes didnt need to be replaced and saved me $$$$. This is a great auto repair shop! Honest, not extremely expensive and so close to my house. I should of come to Jax years ago. Excellent pricing. I needed an oil change and brake work and took a chance on a newer repair shop nearby on Route 31. Im so glad that I did. Walked in and was warmly greeted by the owner Jack . The atmosphere is unique and reminds me of a coffee shop seating area. Easy place to hang out with TV and arcade games while the car is getting fixed. Jack asked if I needed a ride as well since my car was going to be in for a while. I left the car and waited for the normally dreaded phone ring. Jack called with no suprises with exactly what we thought my car needed. I appreciated the honesty and highly recommend Jax to get your brakes and oil change done.

Be careful. Went in for an oil change and they told me I needed all 4 ball joints done IMMEDIATELY. I brought it to another shop for a second opinion, and they said 2 of the ball joints were actually pretty new, and i only needed to replaced 2 of the uppers.Good customer service and a cool lobby... but I wont be returning.

Jax repaired an ongoing oil leak on my vehicle. I had my car in a couple of times to my previous mechanic and they could not find the leak, despite some costly repairs. Jax diagnosed and repaired the leak immediately. They have attention to detail and get the job done right the first time. Great work and service! Competitive and fair pricing. Was driving through Crystal Lake when my Chrysler mini-van lost all coolant and overheated. Limped it to Crystal Lake Chrysler Jeep Dodge, the service manager there got me in right away and was very polite and helpful. Was told a rusted coolant line was the source of the lost coolant and needed to be replaced along with the water pump for an estimate of $1100!! I declined the repair, drove 3 blocks north to Jax Auto. They got my vehicle in the shop and about 1 hour later had repaired (not replaced) the leaking coolant lines and said the water pump was fine. Cost of repair $108, just under 10% of what the Chrysler dealer wanted to charge me. Thank you to the folks at Jax Auto and Tire for running an honest business!!

Had a sidewall blowout on 31 passing thru town and pulled in after seeing the high ratings on here... they were AWESOME! Got me back on the road with a new scoot in a half hour for basically pocket change. Highly recommend.

The first car shop where I dont feel ripped off or disrespected. This is a struggle for a young women, tragically. Jack is so friendly and warm, keeps you up to date with everything, and always very honest and upfront about services and prices. It is such a breath of fresh air to have a mechanic shop that will do just that. I will not be going anywhere else!

I was quoted over $3000 by another shop to fix the wifes van, took into Jax and they did an inspection and $800 later, it drives like new.

I visited Jax Auto a few months ago for a timing belt and a few other repairs like ball joints, control arm, etc. My car a 2003 Mitsubishi lancer OZ Rally edition had 334,544 original miles on it with original clutch and timing belt. Only minor repairs ever made which falls under basic maintenance. The Lancer we refer to as The Peach Mobile after Its original owner. Well I give the owner and workers at Jax a perfect score A+ work performed as we are over 341,000 miles on it and it runs perfect and sounds light a cat purring at idle. Being a Hampshire resident I have no problem driving the half hour drive to Crystal Lake, Illinois for a complete oil change and a look over of the Lancer for potential problems due to age, and everyday driving use. Yes I have a long drive to work and miles increase by average 500 miles a week, but I have not one worry of breaking down with A Professional Auto Repair Servicing The Peach Mobile. Thanks again to the Employees at Jax Auto & Tire Paul Fohrman......Very Satisfied Customer.

Weve been going to Jax for over four years. He treats us like family and we wouldnt go anywhere else for service on our cars! Price is always right and I never feel like hes trying to make a buck. Our requests are usually last minute and if I cant get us in that day, he always takes care of us the next day!

Great place for service. Honest and reasonably priced. I always have my car serviced here. They even have an immaculately clean and large waiting area, with free pinball games and free Wi-Fi. Very comfortable, short wait or long. Large screen TV and couches for the wait.

Jack was great, kept me in the loop on what was happening with my car, they did an outstanding job (the subaru is quiet, and running great), and they stayed on the estimate. Great experience, and Ill be taking other vehicles there for major services.

Ok for tires and oil change.If your car has wheel locks check they put the lock nut back to you, they didnt for me and cost me dearly.Dont let them do do repairs at all.

Prices are very reasonable and Im not being sold stuff the car doesnt need. Service/repair is done when promised and they stand by their work. Waiting area is spacious and comfortable.
