I got into an accident with an almost brand-new car and the insurance company recommended a few places to me. When I called each place with a list of questions, almost none of them gave me the time of day and made me feel stupid for doing my due-diligence. I honestly chose this Gerber location because I was treated with a great deal of respect from my first call. On that call, Joe offered to assist me further, without yet knowing I was selecting their shop. This was a long term repair situation due in part to part availability (most likely due to Covid), but Joe called every Tuesday and Thursday for almost a month and a half as promised. He took the time to explain many things to me in detail and in a way that I could understand (without really understanding). I was honestly blown away by their customer service.

They quickly fixed the problem with the remote start on my Moms car. Robert was prompt, polite, and very helpful. They also have very good COVID protocols in place. Well done!

I cannot say enough good thinks about Gerber. I had the most frustrating experience with a local dealership causing my vehicle to need further repair after being at their dealership. Gerber (Crystal Lake) accommodated me immediately, taking my car right away, getting me a rental, and then fixing my car, as good as new, in a few short days. So happy with the service they provided!

Gerber did a great job with my repair and their partnership with insurance made everything super easy including the car rental. There was a mistake made they resolved at their expense and the missing start is because I had to follow up with them twice rather than calling me when parts came in. I think this is because they are busy as business is good! I would take my car back if needed for sure. They were very professional and courteous at all times.

I have used Gerber in the past for major repairs. Excellent and efficient service.I stopped by a few days ago because my front bumper was loose.The person who looked at it fixed it without charging me. Very thankful.

Scheduled an appointment with Carl, who was super nice and communicative. Then Mark came to my house a few days later. Mark is amazing and did the job quick and thoroughly! You could tell hes a great guy and a pro at what he does. He said hes been doing this 40 years!!! He even knew the break was from inside and exactly what did it, wow!! I will definitely only be calling gerber and requesting mark. (Hopefully i dont have to) and i will always refer them to people!!!!!!

They did a great job as far as aesthetics go but estimator to client body language needs work.Secretary was quick and polite, sure she spoke a little too quick but they did a great job.

Horrible experience. After repair was completed my vehicles battery kept draining due to shorted/pinched wire the left. Which resulted in premature battery replacement. They broke my cargo net holder as well as safety release handle while looking for wheel lock key, that i left for them in cup holder and noted it when i dropped vehicle off. My exterior door handles are loose, after repairs, vehicle window seals making wind noise.

We brought our car for body repair due to an accident. Joe was great. We got our car and as if nothing happened to it. Recommended to all my friends. Very happy customer.

I give up...went in for warranty work and they just never called back or bothered...they claim that they will warranty their work, but they wont...just avoid Gerber, any of them...this confirms that they really dont care.>>Update: The crystal lake office was stuck waiting for a call from the original office. I can see where this might have happened. I am willing to give the Crystal Lake a second chance..I am upping my rating from 1 to 3 stars for not being directly involved with this original problem (but still could have followed up with me to let me know what was going on (I gave 2 weeks on this)).

They fixed my vehicle and damaged it at the same time. Noticed on the way home from picking my vehicle up that the interior door was ripped. The next day an exterior panel fell off. It looks like it broke it and they used double sided tape to reinstall it. I returned the next business day and they informed me that the would order the parts and call me. Ive called a few times and they tell me that they will check into it and call me back....They never call back.Update 10/4. They fixed the exterior panel. Days after my post and they took pictures of the door that they ripped and complained that they would have to go through their insurance and it would take month or so. Now its been about 5 months with no phone call. Will never go here again. I am going to suggest that our fleet company do the same .

Got my car fixed up and looking brand new! Robert was especially helpful but the ladies at the front desk were great as well.

They repaired the car well. My insurance allowed OEM parts, and they installed OEM parts, not aftermarket or used. Staff was in constant contact with me. A couple of flaws in the paint, havent had the need to use many body shops before, but if I need one again, I would go back to this one before the other 2.

DO NOT GO HERE! I have had work done on my car here a few times previously, but this location has become the worst. I worked with Joe C throughout and his communication and follow through are horrible. After picking up my car, I noticed a new door ding which wasnt there when I dropped it off, so they fixed that on the spot but then I drove off only to have my car on the side if the road a very short time later. It seems that the subcontractor that they hired, failed to repair and reconnect a part if the cooling system coreectly which was damaged. I had to have my car towed to the dealership to have it repaired the right way. When Joe C was alerted to this, he only blamed the subcontractor that HE hired but said he would look into it and get back to me. After a week, I called him back because he never respinsed. He was then going to call the dealer and find out about the reason and car rental charges which were incurred. This was escalated to his GM who also never responded apparently because I had to call back yet again 2 weeks later and remind him. Bottom line, my car was returned incomplete, broke down because shotty work from a substandard subcontractor that Gerber hired to do their work and I was out of my car for another 5 days while it was being repaired the right way. Again, I can not say strongly enough to STAY AWAY FROM HERE! Bad work, terrible communication and the worst customer service Ive ever seen from Joe C and this location!

Keep your records, take lots of photos. Notify your legal counsel. If you like you vehicle than stay away.
