Started having trouble with the transmission in my truck. I was expecting it since it is a common issue with my year model. I knew I wanted it rebuilt with upgraded parts instead of swapping it out for the same one. I asked around about who is the man to take it to. Many people didn’t have a suggestion but a few mentioned Tony Walker Transmission. So I went by their shop and talked to them. They were very familiar with the issue I was having. I decided to let them do the work. I dropped it off on a Monday and to my surprise it was ready to pick up that Wednesday. Tony even had a video walk around of the work that was done showing all the replaced parts and where the damage was that I was able to watch while I was paying the bill. Good group of guys there. Honest and very reasonably priced considering the quick turn around. I don’t usually leave reviews but when you come across a business these days that conduct themselves the way they do then, they deserve some recognition. Very pleased. Truck drives great again. Transmission was under warranty and the guy acted like he didnt wanna fix it after waiting 2 weeks just for them to look at it. Some how it was fixed in just 3 hours.. When I have no 3rd gear and it was slipping in other gears.

I will never go anywhere else. They were highly recommended by many friends and family. I wanted to check prices so i called another shop to get a quote before I called walker. That was a mistake. Apparently I had no idea what I was talking about as far as what MY truck was doing. Other shop was very condescending and just rude. Called walkers and had the best experience. Price was great, service was absolutely outstanding and I was back in my truck fast. I will always recommended them to anyone needing trans work done and when the time comes its where I will be taking my other truck when it needs a trans. Cannot express how happy I was with everything about this shop!

Most professional and honest guy Ive dealt with. Go see this man! HONEST, GREAT PRICES, STRAIGHT UP GUY. Wont rip you off, wont over charge you. Dont go to any other transmission guy if youre scared they are going to rip you off. Hes a real dude. TRUST ME. Greatest guy youll ever met in the biz.

Been trying to get to this. But I read a lot of reviews before I make a decision but this will only be my 3rd posting one with first 2 on bad restaurants.My first 5 minutes with Tony told me I made the right decision. I’ve been doing commercial construction through out the South for 20 years and I can put a lot of miles on a truck. Never was the type to do it myself so I’ve had some problems with mechanics in the past and it always seems whatever price they give me I just plan on paying double and some cases still have problems. Not only without a hesitation Tony give me the price but as he was working on my transmission found another problem called me and agreed to take care of it at said price and at the end it was to the penny and the day and time he said he’d get it done. I’m not telling you to go to him I’m telling you just go talk with him and you’ll make that decision on your own.

What a rip off all he did is throw in a extra steel clutch plate that got me a few hundred more miles and charged me for a full rebuild of $1600 bet he sleeps good at night im sure im not the first

I have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird. When my transmission went out, the mechanic I went to first planned to replace it but couldnt find one. I called Tony Walkers shop and not only did they tell me they could rebuild it without a problem, but that it could be done in a week at a very reasonable price. The job was completed in the time frame I was given at exactly the price I was quoted. There was one minor issue, but when I called to ask about it they immediately said I could bring my car back in and they would take care of it. I was very impressed and will definitely recommend these guys to anyone who needs transmission repair.

He told me to bring my truck and he would work on it and bring $1,000 I show up with $1,000 in my truck then he tells me that the parts are not available basically he just did not want to work on my tow truck and he calls to me more time of having my tow truck down would not recommend this place to my worst enemy enter button cardigan and I in turn both the parts that I needed that he said was not available in bought at AutoZone

Tonys Transmissions is the best transmission place that I have ever been to. He is honest and cares for his customers. I went to another transmission place who gave me a quote of $1200.00 but Tony did the same job for $75.00. Thats a $1125.00 savings. Met with Tony at the shop he asked questions about the truck, completed a diagnosis and test drove the truck. He accurately diagnosised the problem and gave me a fair price. They finished in a day and a half. No problems at all.

Worse place ever . Went to pick my truck up an they couldn’t get it to move after a fresh rebuild. Went back it was ready. On the way home tow haul light came on an I called they said they didn’t know . Scanned it an it was a converter sensor . I have been calling for the past 3 week an they keep telling me the part is on back ordered. Don’t recommend them .

Tony recently rebuilt the transmission on my 96 Dodge Ram.I waited until I put a little over 500 miles on the truck before writing this review. My transmission shifts like new so Im a happy customer. If you need your transmission rebuilt go talk to Tony, I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Brought in my 81 camaro 5 years ago it wouldnt shift into drive they fixed that but with a rebuild dont you think they suppose to change the seals and all? Man my leaks more now than before and it took them every bit of 3 weeks to do that! Every other day I went by to check on my car it wasnt even on the lot! Super slow service! Then when I got it back I took it back the next day for erratic shifting and told guy that it was leaking and they still didnt stop the leak! Never again

My son took his truck to have a rear main and.front trans seal replaced and the trans pan gasket replaced. He got the truck home and the 4 wheel drive shifter fell off. The pan seal is still leaking and the vacuum solenoid bracket line was not reattached causing the line to come off. It was not pumping fluid properly and the clutches welded together. Yes his price was better than anyone elses and had really good experiences from the old man, but this negated all of the past. I would not recommend them to anyone. He decided to just take the loss on this and go to a more qualified technician.

I had nothing but issues out of the transmission walker worked on. I took it back 7 times. On the 8th it was explained to me that they didnt know how to work on my transmission, and that the only one who could or was capable the uncle was fired and told me to take it to another shop. I decided to take them to court. I was out of warrenty. So they got away with the shabby work and craftsmanship.They in my opinion did not take care of a loyal customer.I had my transmission rebuilt at another shop in the area. Who explained why I was having problems. A lot of the work done at walker was wrong. Since having my rebuilt transmission rebuilt again In the same year with less then 10,000 since walkers work. I would strongly suggest finding a different shop. This one has no integrity they will not stand behind there work!!!!!.

Took our 2011 dodge grand caravan in for a transmission rebuild and not only was the price much better than a dealer the customer service was exceptional. Will never use the dealer again and I highly recommend tony at Tonys transmissions in Covington. Jim and Courtney Fuller

I took my SUV. Took it back because the fluid leaked out. Took it back because the bolts were hanging out and the they cracked the flywheel. Couldnt crank it the next time because they cracked the distributer cap and blamed it on vandalism. Took it back again because the fluid dumped again and they left the cover plate off. Also, found an oily note, between the seat, that a technician left in my SUV. The letter was from another customer complaining about brining his car back for the fourth time. EVERYONE tried to tell me, only after I took my vehicle. DONT GO!
