Got a replied from Albert after filing complaint with BBB and his explanation absolutely solidifies what a crook he is. Even the owner of Carbook USA, Ron told me that it was his mistake recommending him to me because he ripped me off. Albert stated that he had 3 mechanics who spent 3 hours doing the repair and that is why the labor was ONLY $465. In all honesty, replacing 2 Front Control Arm Bushings and 2 Rear Lower Control Arms took 3 MECHANICS 3 HOURS TO DO???? The 3 mechanics were Albert, another guy who drove over to the shop name is Augustine (could be wrong), and another elderly man. The elderly mans job was keeping the floor clean and holding a flashlight. Augustines job was unscrewing/screwing nuts and bolts so Albert can replace the parts. Not only is Albert a crooked mechanic/shop owner, he is a terrible liar. He said 3 hours it took, when in reality (and I have proof) it only took 2 hours. Furthermore, Im sure OSHA will be interested to see his shop is a cesspool for worker injury. Several times, Albert himself bumped his head while walking below the lifted car or cut his hands while trying to get parts out or in.If you value your time and money, dont bring your car to this place. He shouldnt even be in business.

I was referred to Albert from Carbook, where I purchased my 2003 BMW 325i. After picking the car up I took it to Pepboys for oil change and take advantage of their complimentary vehicle inspection. It was found that the rear lower control arm on the passenger side was bent and needed to be replaced immediately. Of course Pepboys quoted a ridiculous price. Called Carbook and was told to take it to Albert since they have never heard of a BMW’s control arm bending. Next day brought it to Albert and after lifting the car, immediately he said Pepboys was right about the rear lower control arms even though only one side is bent better to replace both at same time. He also noticed the front control arm bushings were badly damaged. These repairs adversely effect the suspension system in the car and can be dangerous. Something Carbook should have disclosed, as required by law even though I purchased the vehicle “as-is”.Anyways Albert told me the entire repair with parts and labor will be less than $850 (Pepboys estimate), but he won’t know for sure until he gets the parts on Monday morning. But he’ll call me when he finds out. Then Albert explained that as a mechanic he is only allowed to purchase Original BMW parts and if I want to use aftermarket ones I will have to go purchase and he can install. However, he told me that his pricing for Genuine BMW parts will be about the same as what I’ll pay for Aftermarket. No brainer right there.Monday morning Albert called and said the total repair for parts and labor is $675 and would take about 4 hours. I told him I’ll be at the shop at 11am. I arrived at 10:45am and Albert shows me a box for the Front Control Arm bushings. He pointed out the “Made in Germany” stamp. I’m no mechanic, but a part that comes in a box that says “Made in Germany” doesn’t make it Genuine BMW, does it? I let that one go. Received the rear lower control arms and found out the supplier only had parts made in Italy. Fine I let that slide. Repair started at 11:05am and finished at 1:05pm. Great they finished early. Thinking since Albert did not buy Genuine BMW parts and the repair took only 2 hours instead of 4, it should be cheaper now.NOT A GOD DAMN CHANCE!!! In fact he added tax to the bill and said “Oops I forgot to add that when I called you this morning with the quote”. I looked at the bill, parts was $210, very reasonable considering Albert didn’t really buy Genuine BMW parts. The labor charge for 2 hours was $465?? I know he quoted 4 hours but I’ve shopped around and 95% of repair shops estimate close to 2 hours for this repair. And I know shops charges a book rate. So if the book rate is 2 hours for this job and it took Albert 2 hours to finish, it’s either one of two things. The 4 hours estimate was not based on book rate which I believe is an automotive industry standard. So if he spent 2 hours on the repair but charged me for 4 hours, that’s fraud. Or he did charge me 2 hours but his labor rate is $232.50? He must have Master Technician status from BMW to charge that rate.Albert is honest with what needs to be repaired and what’s not necessary. But charging a quote that was based on the premise of using Genuine BMW parts with 4 hours of labor (which is 2 hours exceeding the Book Rate estimated repair time) but in reality using Aftermarket parts and using 2 hours is downright unethical. I am sure there are also some fraudulent implication somewhere in here. Albert did saved me money from Pepboys. But the actual amount should have been substantially less than what he charged.Just to be clear the parts cost he charged me is about the same as if I bought these parts. So did he get a mechanic’s rate for NON GENUINE BMW parts? And once again, the packaging of the bushings came with A Made in Germany stamp and nothing that shows OEM or Genuine BMW. You’re can’t argue that “Made in Germany” = Genuine BMW. And when a customer asks you to please give him the total cost of the repair with parts, it should be automatic to add tax unless this is your first day..
