Hye-Tech checked back on my records during the course of a routine oil change and re-visited an item they had been monitoring and noted it was time to perform the repairs. Thorough explanation of the problem, effects and repercussions, accurate time estimate for completion, and a summary of what had been done. The parts came in a little higher than estimated and John called to inform me. They place a high value on respecting the customer and their time, and in taking the time to thoroughly explain things. I like this business for their integrity, thoroughness, and fair prices. I found a gem and refuse to go elsewhere.

I’ve been going to John at Hye Tech for years. Anytime I have any questions, concerns, or problems with my car, he and his team are always able to take my walk in and diagnose my problem in no time. I had a coolant leak and didn’t want to continue driving it leaking in this heat. John assisted me and was ableTo locate the leak from that was coming from the water pump and radiator. I also had a engine vibration and they found that the motor mounts were bad. Took care of my needed repairs in a reasonable time at a reasonable price. Car runs great now and I’m able to drive comfortable and confident that I have a great running car. John was very helpful in explaining the needed repairs and helped me understand what was urgent and necessary and what could wait.

I am new to the area and have been looking for a decent shop to keep up with my truck’s maintenance. I found this shop through a referral and was very pleased with their services! Unlike other shops they didn’t try to upswell any unnecessary services. Hye Tech did a very professional job changing my alternator. I got a very affordable quote compared to other shops and was able to bring my truck in the same day. I noticed I needed an oil change and they were able to take care of that too. Definitely coming back for future repairs!

I really appreciate John squeezing me in when my brake lights were not turning off and it was draining my battery. I went here before to fix my air conditioning. One of the replacement parts failed shortly after, and so I went back to them. When I arrived they still took care of me quickly despite being busy. They re-did the repairs and did not charge me extra, honoring their guarantee. My A/C works just fine now.

Had my truck in for a water pump and non working door locks. Ive been bringing all my vehicles here for years and couldnt recommend them more. Although I hope its a long time until I see them again I know theyll be just as standup as always.

DAMAGED MY CAR: Brought my Nissan 350z 2005 for suspension work. Adding Tein Coilovers and A-arms. Vartan Yousoufian helped me, said he could get it all done in a couple days. Ended up taking a week, whic his fine but after I got it back the alignment was all off and car pulling to the right. I brought to another shop to take a look and they said instead of setting the camber in rear to -1.5 on both tires, Vartan set it at 0 and -2.5 . The front as well was not adjust properly. Also for the height, the pic below is after I had the set perfectly by a different company. Vartan set it 1.5 above the wheel on left front and 2 on back left. In other words, not even. When I brought to other repair shop they fixed it, and when i saw the job they did when installing there appeared to have damage from getting the A arms and coilovers in.I brought this up to Vartan, he denied everything, maintained that he did it perfect.Just easier to get it fixed elsewhere, which I did.Would NOT use HYE Tech Auto Repair.

Took my car there to get a leveling kit installed. It was the incorrect part, which was my fault. I bought it previous to going there. They informed me very quickly and offered me another option. No issues, done quickly and wonderfully. This place is great and their customer service is better than most.

I went to have my headlights replaced and they charged me 190 for something they couldnt even do the headlights didnt fit. I asked why they didnt compare it before trying to install them they claimed they cant tell until they are already on the car. I decided to try a different mechanic they didnt even try because they knew they wouldnt fit. On top of all this my bumper isnt even put on probably they claim it was un aligned but its missing clips underneath and the right sides clip is now broken off Ive had this car for a month and this was not a issue until now thanks to the people who work here that cant do their jobs right.

I’m so happy to have found an honest shop! I’m new to California and I needed my A/C fixed on my van. John and his team found a whole host of other problems with the vehicle, in addition to major issues with the A/C. Instead of taking all my money they told me straight up that it wasn’t worth the investment and I’d be better off selling it and looking for a better car. I finally got rid of the car a few months later and today I brought my new car in for some minor things. I received the same high quality service as the first time and Sergio and the twins were so nice and helpful. I will definitely return for any future maintenance with my vehicle.

While i was driving i notice my car was overheating as i look at my temperature gauge and a level anxiety hit me. As i pulled over to let me car cool down for about 30 minutes, i yelped the nearest auto mechanic. The staff checked my car as i waited and they informed me that my coolant was leaking out of my radiator and one of my fans werent working?! I was like uh-oh but they told me the estimate and it was a fair and honest price for parts and labor. They were extremely busy that day so i had to uber home and uber back the next day to pick up my car. :)I think i have found my new go-to mechanics

Been meaning to put in a good plug for Hye Tech for a few months. We recently moved into town and they did some great work awhile back on an aging 2002 Accord that Im trying to nurse along for a few more miles. They snooped around and found a good used gas tank to replace mine that was leaking, and did some other solid work. The cars been running like a champ since then. These guys know their stuff, have good intuition, and arent out to rip you off like many a place. Ill be back.

I thought Id give John and Hye Tech Auto a try after hearing from two of my friends the highest praise I had ever heard from them and I have not been disappointed.Hye Tech Auto is a good and honest auto repair shop. The last time I was there, I literally heard John on the phone, fighting for one of his customers, arguing/debating with a major car manufacturer (who I wont name) that was saying anything they could to try to weasel out of a warranty still in effect by the other customer.Seeing John fight that hard for one of his customers was reassuring to me and the affirmation I DIDNT NEED from him to begin with.If you can, you should take your vehicle here for service. If they can do it, theyll do it. If they cant, theyll point you in the right direction.

Im hoping to be bringing it to John for at least another 80,000.. come on John.. I know we can do itUPDATE: Used John and his guys until I sold my 2003 focus with 160,000 miles on it... the last hundred miles were helped by Hy-tech Auto.. they kept that car running like a dream.. I just bought a new car that has warranty until 36,000 and then extended until 100,000 so I know from 36,000 to as long as this car will run I will be going to John... very trustworthy place.. great mechanics and fair to deal with.. Been taking my cars here for a few years now. Their work is always excellent. Prices reasonable/ competitive. What motivates me most to drive to Covina from Diamond Bar when there are plenty of closer auto shops? Trust. When John, who I have always assumed is the owner, tells you about your car and whats wrong and what needs to be repaired now you never get the feeling that he is lying, or simply exaggerating, to pad the bill a little. I cannot say that about most of the garages and mechanics that I have taken my car to in years past. That feeling you get at most other garages, that the words you are hearing sound suspicious, or fishy, if you prefer. At Hye Tech Auto I always feel like I am hearing the truth. Simple honesty goes a looooong way. Also, in the recent present, I have been sending my mother to Hye Tech. They have always been very respectful, and helpful to her. A few weeks ago, when I was out of town and unable to help her, my mother needed some repairs on her car. One of the mechanics, Javier, drove her back home to Diamond Bar. On the way, she got the route home mixed up a bit and what is usually a 15-20 minute drive took them over an hour. There was never any complaints, and now I cannot take my mother with me to drop off mine, or my wifes car, without her having to head toward the garage so that she can chat with her friend Javier. Nice people, good service, and honesty. What more do you want from your auto shop?

I was referred to Hye Tech Auto by a friend when my car broke down. I have always been very skeptical when it comes to auto repair shops. John, the owner, told me to bring the car in to check it out. When I arrived he was talking to an elderly couple who were satisfied with the price and work done on their car. I didn’t want to be nosey but I did hear John, the owner, talk about how he has just started up his business and wanted customers feel like family. “Come by this weekend and we’ll have a Bar-B-Q here on the lot”, is what he told them. I know it sounds kind of cheesy but that made me feel more at ease. I took my car in because it would shake when I stepped on the gas pedal. Within minutes he had my car hooked up to a machine and figured out the problem. He showed me what the machine read was wrong, showed me the actual part on the car, and showed/gave me the part he replaced (all without ever asking). He told me to come back in a few hours and after changing a few parts my car was running better than before. He also went above and beyond by changing a couple that needed to be changed. John and his mechanics were very professional. He did a great job, didn’t try to get me to fix something else that wasn’t needed at the time but said to keep an eye out for other future problems. I was amazed with how I was treated. He even called a few days later to check how the car was running. Never have I had a mechanic/owner do that for me. I will definitely keep bringing my cars here to be service and recommend it others.Wrote the above review in 2010 when I was first recommended to John.I am adding to my review because I have read some bad reviews and people commenting that the excellent reviews must be from the owner. Best customer service and trust worthy!!

Went in for labor on a break booster i bought. Couldve done it myself in two hours but didnt have tools so i just took it in took two days and by the time i got it out, it was more expensive than quotes and after 20-30 mins of having it on the road the turbo and intercooler supposedly go out after no problems thus far. Very skeptical about this shop BEWARE.
