Big 5 sporting goods got a lot of neat little gadgets I like going in there eyeball around looking at this looking at that usually end up buying something I dont need Im just glad they dont have shopping carts in there cuz then God knows what I bring home a big five is a good spot but dont sell firearms though

Went in to track down an item I saw online. The store computer showed 1 in stock. At least 3 clerks tried to help locate it, as I couldnt find it. One guy finally located it in a totally different area of the store. Lots of good deals there too.

Easy spot to grab the stuff I need in a pinchI get mostly fishing stuff hereThey have the basics and could be offering way better selection of some stuffBut when tackle shop is closed this spot works!

Staff is always great and helpful. Kids and I shop for soccer here.

They had the lowest clearance prices I almost cried tears of joy. Plus, salesman, Benjamin was extremely knowledgeable about every pro, con and odd fact about basically everything.(Especially shoes- which pair we should is for which activity- my and my sons feet thank him 😊) The store was clean and well stocked and they were very polite and helpful when talking with my 7 year old son.

Very rude customer service. I walked out after waiting in line for a cashier. A new line was opened and the cashier told me to get back in the first line. Sorry, dont need rude treatment when I am spending money in your store. Went down the road to Target and purchased my items there.

Been coming here ever since I was a kid. This store has solid prices, since most products are not top of the line. Staff is mostly friendly. Customer service has been decent throughout the years. Excellent store location with plenty of parking.

I was looking for a certain type of shoe, visited their website, it was listed as in stock at Costa Mesa store. Not in stock.

Prices are fair, god stuff and last minute needs, i bought a pull up bar for the door and the soft grips started to rip off. but it still works fine.

I came for a specific product that they have on promotion and they could not find it in their stockroom. Waited for about 10 minutes only to be told that they dont have it and there was an inventory error on their part. Brennan was kind enough to offer a similar (actually an upgrade to the one I meant to get) for the same price. I took the offer and then asked if I could return an item which I bought from a different location. He said it is fine as long as I have the receipt.So, I bought the Everlast F.I.T. Powercore Heavy Bag Kit for $91.59 and then returned the Everlast Cardio Fitness Bag that I got last night. It was too light to take power punches.One happy customer here.

My son and I had a really great shopping experience here and its been quite a while and Id like to say I was happily surprised. Everyone that we talked to was willing to help they even took it out and loaded it into our car. The prices were competitive they had just what we were looking for and I think everyone should give big five few minutes of their time to see what theyve got in store today! I remember over the years that a lot of these big sporting good places have gone under or were really not thought of in a very high fashion because of the smaller sporting good stores that were more mom and pop shops. However I was really impressed by this location for them having a good variety of almost everything you need from working out to running walking whatever type of sports enthusiasts you are this is a good location to go and see what they have and I think youll find that this has the feel of a mom and pop shop with all the accommodations of a larger Sporting Goods chain. I will be back!

They had what I was looking for. But the customer service was not very good. I had to find it myself. Which is ok but I looked for a while and asked a worker they said they didnt know where it was.. then waited at the pocket knife counter for 15 minutes and the person was paged.

Needed tire tubes and the cashier got them for us while we browsed. Great customer service

The BIG 5 in Costs Mesa off of Harbor Blvd was epic!! They held a pair of boots for me that I had the HB store call about the night before!! Extremely helpful there & very kind!! If the store was closer I would more often!! But still a awesome place to shop!!

I live in the Newport Heights area of Newport Beach right near the border of Costa Mesa and honestly for my area this is the best place to go for anything related to Shooting Sports guns and ammunition accessories and especially are guns they have a very good selection for that and with how crazy the police are now I started to convert the guns I take out to the desert to go shooting or do target shooting with two air guns as the police dont give you nearly as much trouble in the event that they pull you over because you have to disclose you have a weapon the staff is fairly knowledgeable about the different air gun products and accessories that fit they have a very good stock of different BBS and pellets and types of CO2 cylinders they do not feel pre-charged pneumatic or PCP Saunders AKA green guy just like you can get out of paintball shop unfortunately but they also sell pump powered or spring piston some people call it so theres quite a selection and if you go online and sign up for an account you can get a 20% off coupon that also gives you 10% off sale items and it works both in-store and online. Cystic fibroid caitian is not one of the largest ones its not exactly small or anything but they dont have quite the range of selection of gear that some of the other ones do however everyone is extremely friendly and they try to be as helpful as possible that Ive encountered there are multiple visits and many of their prices are very competitive but if youre going to be buying anything thats a weapon or a fishing rod or something that is an investment that youre going to want around for a while youre going to want to have a coupon or to check out other places like you van Amazon because they can run a little bit expensive however they do run ads as well with sales that are incredibly good but stock usually runs out very fast. Overall this is a really great sporting goods and Outdoors store especially for camping gear fishing and snowboarding accessories as well as the aforementioned air powered guns and firearms and they do have some very good deals on Boulder Rifle sometimes it just cant be beat

Was in the area & glad i stopped in.. wider selection of shoes than other Big 5 stores & more people on the floor to assist you.. bought some New Balance shoes & used the $10 coupon that comes in the mail every month(Valpak) for any purchase over $30. Nice people & store is kept clean..

Stay away from these guys! They took my money last month to buy a rifle... was supposed to pick it up after the 10 day waiting period and they wont give it to me because the manager is staying home and doesnt want to come in. He is the only one that can issue the rifle. Called the district manager and left a message with him and no call back. Wont be spending a dime here ever again.

Great service

Went in looking for golfing spikes they had them, but not what I was looking for. I did find their sales rack and they had nice warm jackets on sale for $5 and jogger pants for $7 also the men sandals were on sale for $9.99 as well. I did spend time doing some Christmas shopping . The girls at the counter were very helpful.

Wow!!! Just had my worst experience at any store in my life. I’ve been a customer at this store for 35 years. The cashier was very rude from the start because I voiced my opinion about the Nike T-shirt ad that only for V- neck shirts. And no large shirts. Instead of ringing up the two hats I wanted to buy she started making excuses and arguing with me. I asked her to ring up my order so I could just leave. She called the manager Linda, she told me my money was no good there and to leave or she would call the police. Wow ... I left and now going to complain to the corporate office. Maybe they are worried about their jobs. Big 5 stock is down 60 percent in the last year.

Terrible service from Michelle the manager and Tom the manager trainee. Not only was she unhelpful with a pair of defective shoes she was rude and condescending. I have bought shoes here for the past 8 years but I will not stop here again.

It still exists! Oshmans, Sports Chalet, & Sports Authority GONE! And then there was 2: Big 5 and Dicks Sporting Goods. Sad. =( Very 😥

Take forever to get any help when you need something from behind the counter. I just want to buy binoculars and Ive been standing here 15 minutes. Finally I called the store, while standing inside, and all the poor check out girl can do is page a sales guy again. Took me 20 minutes to do something that could take 2 minutes.Edit: he gave me a $4 discount, so at least there is that.

After my last experience with the Big 5 in Cerritos I was looking forward to having better service went in asked where is the mens shoe department the clerk told me in the back towards the right when I got to the back there were 2 salespersons when was free I asked him to help me went to the back got the shoes that I needed too small he went to go get me some more I also found some on the rack that seem to fit after trying a few pair on I found one I liked ask for three pair the salesperson thanked me for coming there the service was excellent way better than the other store I downloaded their app and got an extra percentage off great job guys

Super helpful and the staff was great with kids. We got our kids baseball stuff there and it was very smooth purchase. They even held the bat overnight.

Staff was helpful when it came to getting a soccer ball. Big 5 does not carry sports masks for broken noses but cages to wear to prevent injuries from softball.
