Dozens of shoppers without masks. Safeway employee stated that Safeway is unable to make shoppers wear a mask regardless of state mandate and CDC Guidelines. Corporate America doing whatever they want. Sound familiar?

Always friendly workers. Food is always fresh. My only complaint is there are never enough cashiers when you checkout. Pharmacy has great employees and they are very helpful also. Good store to shop at

The pharmacy is the only reason to go to this place. The staff has always been attentive, kind and informative. Which is the reason why I gave Safeway two stars.The store is understaffed and understocked. I highly recommend checking all expiration dates before purchasing items.I find it strange that the seafood department defrosts frozen seafood to display. It makes no sense. Why not keep it frozen? Rather than defrosted and sitting out in the open air.I have tried to reach out to management at this particular branch. They are very unprofessional and clearly under educated.I dont know if its possible to retire my safer rewards account. But its time...

Love everything but the App. I spend more time trying to figure out the deals, making it work in the store and even though I was there it still said I was 10.5 miles away. It only works at home and then does not save the info😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞

It’s indeed a Safeway. Plenty of parking but not much shade. Prices seemed decent, was well stocked and wasn’t overly crowded. The chopping cart return areas are few and far between so expect to see a few carts strewn around the parking lot (staff are relatively quick to rehome them where they belong).

I have used the Safeway Pharmacy for years. BEST PHARMACISTS, they are very efficient and really make sure you know about your prescription. The check out cashiers also actually talk to you. The store has items that I am particular about. I sho the Cortez Safeway regularly. Then only thing is There is NO GAS STATION to use my points! Also the game thing is useless.

I am a die hard Safeway shopper anyway so you can guess that I’m pretty happy with all things Safeway, but I had to jump on here because I have to give a shout out to the bakery department at the Safeway store in Cortez, Colorado.I live in Arizona, and everyone knows me at the Safeway where I always shop, but I’m in Cortez visiting family and I knew nobody in the store there. I love the Safeway bagels, especially the multi-grain one, but I could never find them when I went into the store. I saw someone working back in the bakery on my third or fourth trip to the store and I asked about them. The nice young lady told me that she could get me some in a few days. I was happy to hear that and so I introduced myself to her. She told me her name was Dene, and she took my number.Well, as promised, she called me this morning to let me know that they had some fresh baked multi-grain bagels. I called back to let her know that I wanted six of them. The guy who answered the phone told me that Dene had set aside a bag of six for me!Customer service is a difference maker for me, and I am just so pleased that this young lady followed through, and even set a whole bag aside to make sure that I had as many of those amazing bagels as I needed. Nice job!!

Customer service at this store is really horrible. The cashier never said Good Afternoon, is there anything else can help you with, nothing. He just stands there never saying anything and stared at me when I asked a few question regarding my bill. The mask that covers our mouth and nose has caused all of our customer service skills to go away. I called the store and requested to speak to a manager and he was even worse than the cashier. Can’t even carry on a conversation. This could of been a great teaching moment, but when the manager can’t even speak intelligently and command the English language, both of the these employees need to go to a class on how to handle customers. Won’t be back to this store. Now I understand why this store parking lot is mostly empty. just because we are living in crazy times, is not way not to engage the customers to patron the store!!

Currently the best place in Cortez to get your groceries. Yes. You are expected to consider others and wear a mask and wash your hands.

Picked up some prepackaged foods for dinner: meatloaf - horrible; chicken tenders - fossilized; roast beef sub - wilted lettuce and fatty roast beef; pot pies - flavorless. Not your best effort, Safeway. Wasted $50.

Great grocery and employees are awesome However the masks Covid enforcement was lax today which disappointed me.

They never have the stuff that they advertise as on salein their circular. It seems like a bait-and-switch scheme. And when you ask about it they respond very rudely. And the stuff that is not on sale is so expensive...bottom line I dont know why anybody would want to come here. As a matter of fact, Im at a loss as to why these guys are even able to stay in business.

Genuinely friendly staff, excellent pharmacy, WiFi. Prices are great if you use their app. Last time I was in, 18% savings on my bill.BIG setback....there are no self-check Express lanes. I prefer a person, but sometimes they are really necessary!

Frequented this store for the week we were in town! Able to get all our food for meals each day and night - and with refrigerated / frozen foods, they gave us some dry ice to help keep things cold as we would be out and about each day.Clean & convenient.Had Wild Salmon as well as other wild fish.

I went there to the Deli. The service was awesome. The meats and cheese was fresh. The gal Holli was very efficient kind and was able to serve 4 customers at the same time. I was very impressed with the customer service given and the cleanest deli Ive been to in a long time. Im from Fort Collins, way north of the state. This deli in this little town sure IMPRESSED ME.

We just received the best customer service at the Safeway store in Cortez, CO from Tannabah and Beth. My husband wanted to get a corsage for our granddaughter. They are going to the father/daughter dance at her elementary school. He just found out about the dance this morning and is standing in for our son who is in Denver having surgery. We didnt have time to prearrange the corsage however these ladies were kind enough to make her one. She is so happy. Thank you very much!

The employees are super nice and helpful, the size and layout are pretty decent, and the produce is excellent. The best feature of this Safeway is its pharmacy. Its not just the best pharmacy in town. Its one of the best pharmacies Ive ever been to. If youre needing to get a prescription filled, come talk to these guys, you will not be disappointed that you did.

You can usually find the odd stuff here that you cant find anywhere else. I love shopping here because Its usually always quiet, the workers are friendly, and its clean and displayed well. Good meat and produce. Worth the extra money in my opinion.

The pharmacy is A+ in my book. The Pharmacists are very informative and helpful. The Techs are quick and customer service is always first and foremost priority even when they are busy.

High prices, neat clean store, large selection of food items. Nice bakery and deli. I am from the Midwest and their prices at this store are outrageous to me.

We do almost all of our grocery shopping at Safeway. Even if there is an error they take care of the problem quickly. Normally they always have items in stock and everyone is friendly
