Do not waste your time with this dealership. I went there today because I saw a car listing on car Guru. Bottom line is they would not even give me the car for the advertised price. They have a hidden markup of $1500. This hidden markup is just BS and they will not let you get out of Purchasing it. Which I believe is illegal. It’s $300 just for air in the tires nitro. You can get that at Costco for free. This is a dishonest dealership and I will never waste my time again going there again. I recommend that you do not do business with these people. They definitely are not customer service oriented and do not care about customers. This dealership will fail because the customer is number one and they have forgotten that.

I wasted my time here at dishonest dealership. Went here today and could not even get the advertised price. They have a $1500 markup that they say everyone has to pay. I did not want the special air in tires for $300. But they say you have to pay anyways. This is a dishonest dealership. It was a Saturday morning and no one else was there now I know why. Do not waste your time with this dealership you will be disappointing. Customer service is not their priority.

If I could give this dealership zero stars I would. They are completely incompetent and once the sale is made they lack no compassion or care to help you- even when it is 100% fault on them. I recently bought a car from this dealership and traded my car in- the finance associate who helped me was a complete mess. She kept running in and out of the room with paperwork and cussing about how tired she was. Once I left the associate Victoria who helped me was sweet then and then never answered her texts or calls ever again once I had an issue.Long story short I left the dealership with my new car and my car I traded in was never paid off- leaving me with a late payment to ford and countless calls to the dealership. No one would help me and even if I got a quick call back it was that it was handled even when it wasnt even had to go as far as calling the sister dealership next door to have one of there associates call the manager to call me back- how bad is that? Once the manager Andrew called and told me he was dealing with it - it was not solved. DO NOT use this dealership unless you want problems with no solutions. I have bought multiple VWs and never had an issue like this- they are great until you have a problem then good luck getting it solved or even a simple call back. I spent hours and weeks of my time dealing with an issue from them that should of never happened.

Please be very cautious when purchasing a new or used vehicle at this location, the customer service from a majority of the employees is very poor with a few that stand head and shoulders above the rest. Even after spending a large sum of money on a vehicle and being told everything will be taken care of, I had to take time after work to come in and re-sign paperwork multiple times, because employee mistakes, and was told that I had to rectify the issue myself. Save yourself the headache, dont purchase a vehicle here or at the very least shop around first.

Never buy here if you want to to get treated poorly, its the worst dealership I had to deal with. Be careful they have add ons to all the vehicles they have on the lot, something shady dealerships would do, seriously who pays 250 dollars to get nitro inflated tires? Thats a joke. I can go to Costco and get it FREE go to Murrieta Volkswagen they are great to work with, left the dealership with a brand new car. Make the right choice and stay far away from CardinaleWay Volkswagen, Genesis and Hyundai next door they all work together.

I never leave bad reviews but avoid this dealership if you can. i got my car from here over two months ago (still haven’t received my license plates by the way). but also turns out they snuck in $500 on the paperwork without my knowledge. SKETCH. so i had my check engine light come on and one of my speakers were blown out. so i called and they said it would be covered under warranty. so i had an appointment for 1:30. meanwhile, I WAIT THERE FOR 5 HOURS. and at that point they hadn’t even looked at my car yet. ANYWAYS. they proceed to say that after they did the recall, that the check engine light came off. BUT i still had my speaker situation to deal with. SO MIND YOU, i nearly just got this car. so apparently they opened the car door panel and saw that the reason the speaker was making a rattling noice was because there was a bunch of coins and loose change stuck in the door panel. and mind you, i never carry change on me so there was no way this could of been my fault in the slightest. SO I ASSUME they could just take out the change from the door panel and everything will be okay. WRONG. they said it would be $130 to take out the change. i was confused because they said it was under warranty and at that point they already took the door panel off so what’s the point of charging me just to take out the coins ? I obviously said no to that because why? anyways, i went to volkswagen san bernardino and they gladly took care of my situation FOR FREE. so no. i will never come back here or ever recommend anyone coming here in the slightest.

Disgusted with this dealership.We were searching for a specific VW Atlas to fit our growing family’s needs. We chose to go with Cardinale Way VW because ironically they were so much nicer than the other dealership we had been working with. We were so completely WRONG about them. Please beware of Dylan T. and Ryan S.! They accepted our deposit on the car, took all of our information, and then sold the car the next day right out from under us...even though we’d paid the deposit!!! They are so deceitful and completely lied to us! Said the car suddenly had damage so they sold it...a lie. I have never had such a bad experience with a dealership or car salesmen. I’m still in shock at how badly they treated us, and that one of them had the audacity to text me after they sold it to say, “please feel free to reach out to me or to tear my head off.” What in the world? How do they even still work there?You’ve been warned.

However, when I came to the dealer, they were trying to raise the price. When I showed them the message between me and the seller, they said they dont accept that price.

(That is what I am used to when buying a car.) That was not the case, the process was quick and very transparent and I love my new Jetta. I made a service reservation and visited.I talked about the problem with the car.But he didnt even look.He wants me to make a reservation next week and come back.And 20k miles service, tire rotation service.The amount is estimate $200 + taxI went to solve the problem.Engine room grading noise..He can do services where money is generated.We cant provide services without money.Thats what I felt.The service is terrible.

I have never posted a negative review ever. But in this instance i have to let everyone know what happened to me. If i could post a negative infinity review, i would. This may be a bit long, but here it goes.I placed an order for an ID4 online through the VW website. I placed this order even before the car was in production. I paid a deposit online. I had to designate a dealer to pick up the car once it arrived. I chose CardinaleWay VW because it was the closest to my house. Fast forward a few months. Victoria contacted me to introduce herself saying she would take care of me, etc. So far so good. She seemed friendly. I met her in person a month or so later. I asked her about pricing and the process of picking up the car. She told me since this is a new model, i would pay MSRP + tax, license, and the usual fees associated with purchasing a car. No mark ups or add ons. So basically, no haggle pricing. I thought fair enough since its a new model. Fast forward another couple of months. My car arrived at the dealership. By now, its been about 6 months since i placed my order. I get ahold of her a few days later. She sends me the paperwork needed to begin the payment/finance process. She was supposed to send it to me after we met in person a month ago. I didnt think it was a big deal since all the pricing was clear as day on the website when i ordered. Anyways, I notice an add on package to my car. I never authorized an add on. I already ordered the car to my specifications online 6 months ago. VW was just supposed to deliver it finished to the dealer. CardinaleWay added $1485 to the MSRP for VIN etching, door guards and nitrogen in the tires (seriously, anyone can get nitrogen for free at Costco). Regardless, i never authorized this add on. They refused to remove the add ons and expected me to pay for it. I ask Victoria about it. She said they add it to every vehicle they sell. I confront her about our previous conversation about no mark ups. She said this isnt a mark up. I tell her that this is not what I ordered. You dont add something to a customers order and then expect them to pay for it when they didnt request it themselves. Its like going to a pizza place and ordering a one topping pizza for $10. When it comes out its a supreme that costs $20 and they wont remake it. They say you have to pay for it. This was exactly what happened to me. Victoria said I can cancel my order or pay the add on. Thats the price. Take it or leave it. They said this car is so hot, someone else will take it. Then she said i wasnt the first one to walk away from their reservation. I guess this happens quite a lot. Before, I was excited about my first EV. I had high expectations amid glowing reviews of the car. But at this point, my blood was boiling. I felt they were being deceptive. Everything Victoria said was not true. A manager called me a few hours later asking me when i was going to pick up the car. I ask him if he knows about this add on. He said thats what they do. His exact words were Its just supply and demand. So this is how CardinaleWay does business. Ive come to realize that they are really short sighted. They only care about the sale. Your employees are the face of a company. If your sales staff are this unethical and lie straight to a customers face, and dont value your customers, i have to wonder how the rest of the company operates.I was very excited to get the car. I waited almost six months for it. My excitement went to anger and has now turned to disappoinment. This disappointment isnt directed at Volkswagen the car company. Its directed at the dealer, CardinaleWay Volkswagen. If anyone is going to this dealer, buyer beware. I will go out of my way to never visit this place again. I hope this was just a fluke and their other dealerships arent like this.

We have been Volkswagen clients for barely 3 months. This was our 1st scheduled oil change to our 2021 Tiguan. Today my wife had a 9:45am appointment for a routine oil change. I am very disappointed with what took place.  We arrived about 10 minutes late because we live in Anaheim and travel all the way to Corona,  lots of traffic.  Our vehicle wasnt ready till 3pm. Very unacceptable.  Thats 5 hours with our car for oil change.  We had plans this Saturday for 5pm, thats why we scheduled this appointment early in the morning. Now our anxiety levels are high because we might not make our evening plans.  Excuses were made to justify this incomprehensible mistake.  Just want to let cardinaleway Volkswagen know that today their mechanical service departments that sucked for this reason.  The sad part is we have 5 years of going back for future oil changes. Lets see how the next one goes.

GREAT customer service! Upfront and not pushy. Joann and Bryan were our sales people on a used Mazda 3. Samir and Andrew helped us in finance. I also felt everyone in the building was genuine helpful and just in a good work environment.We called ahead after being so frustrated and done with other dealers telling you one thing and then adding on thousands of dollars after making you wait and wasting our precious time. Joann worked on the price and got it to where we needed and kept it there!!!! Amazing! These people are the real deal and the opposite of the stereotypical sleezy car sales person. Scheduled an oil change a day in advance, after waiting an hour, I was told sorry they didn’t have my oil filter in stock! Seriously! Mechanic removed then replaced the old oil filter so I could leave. I get home an my check engine light is on, back to agency, said would have to run a diagnostic $165This is a total RIPOFF. I’m finished with this place!

Too bad is not option for NO Stars. At beginning I thought will be the perfect place to shop, WRONG. we agree on a price for the car, the lie, not only that Sales person was rude and bully. At end he made wait for almost an hour to get to sing paper work. Last but least they give the can not clean, they said was late and shop was not working. I drove 60 miles to purchase a used CC today. I had been in contact with Dylan via text for a few days and had committed to see the car on our day off. I had agreed to purchase the vehicle at the listed price but as I expected it was too good to be true. I wasn’t concerned about the two hour drive or the fact that the car had no fuel for me to test, other cars that I was interested based on their online inventory were magically missing, salesman was too weak and didn’t show any interest in keeping us entertained with other cars in the same class or price. I decided to sit and close the deal until I met the typical unethical higher level sale or finance manager. He had added service contract, theft, body protection and other hidden fees that I wasn’t interested which had raised the price. I expressed that I wasn’t interested as I own my own German automotive center. He took the service contract off but didn’t remove the theft coverage. In my opinion they should let their clients know about all the hidden fees and let us know about the true price before wasting 4 hours. I walk away. I text Dylan back that I’m still in the area if they are willing to make good faith and close the deal at their listed asking price. I didn’t hear back until I was already almost home. False Advertising and bad faith. Think twice about this dealership and make sure you read your contract twice!

This review is on the service department. For the most part, it is decent. Customer service was average/fine. Wait time not long. Biggest downside is that they dont give out loaner vehicles. Most dealerships I have ever been to in many locations always tend to have them. Overall, compared to other Volkswagen dealerships Ive dealt with, this one is alright; still better than others out there.

As many other people mentioned in the reviews, this is very much true that they tell you something to bring you in and then never agree once you reach there.Although i still bought car from them even after experiencing this as it was 2 hours drive from my place. But had to return it as i identified some issues with car and didnt want to spend 29K on car with known issues. We were in optional contract so returned it.As per the contract, they should refund my down payment at max by next day.Its been 15 days, im still waiting for my refund of 10, 000$. Made multiple calls, emails and spent hours of time and energy but these people are least responsive and way rude. Dont know where to go.Currently renting a car from last 2 weeks as these people are holding my money and cant buy car.When i went to return the car they behaved extremely rude although we were in optional contract of 3 days wherein either party can cancel contract. I have been treated really bad specially by finance people.Worth to mention even buying experience was not good. But somehow bought it as i found it ok deal in terms of price and spent 2 hours to reach their location. But they do not know how to behave with customers.

My partner LOUIS went there on good faith, 2 hour drive after speaking to a new salesperson (Enrique) who was taking direction from the sales manager (JOEY). My partner was told he could get a 2016 Ford Focus SE for $9,999 or 10K.This car has been a nightmare since he drove it home. I’m writing this because being on social security disability your funds are so limited and fixed everything you buy has to be saved for.By the time he left the price was $14,000.00 !!!!Apparently they added fees without fully explaining it. Fees like etching a number, maintenance which he didn’t ask for & multiple add on charges. As it stands we found out the car was sold with the back tire installed backwards, the motor mount on right front is busted, the car was shaking & vibrating at 65 MPH. You’d think with everything this company touts and provides they would make it right. In addition there was a recall to the engine that compounded the motor mount issue and it simply was not safe to drive. They should have never sold this car without this important update. Every time my poor partner tried to call and just let the sales manager know what was happening they could care less like it is our faults. We are in our 60’s and don’t have time for this nonsense with having health issues. I hope the owner enjoys ripping disabled folks off and taking it to the bank. My only regret is I couldn’t be there when he was negotiating but like I mentioned a lot was done prior to driving 2 hours only to be a sales victim of a car dealership. Thanks Mr. Cardinale. You have over 20 dealerships and you couldn’t make this right! Shame on you and your employees!

My wife and I purchased a used Sportwagen here in 2016. While the Sales experience was mostly positive, my wife and I didnt appreciate the deliberate fleecing of the Finance staff selling us on a more expensive extended maintenance warranty that required us to visit Cardinale for warranty repairs when VW offers a significantly less extended maintenance warranty that can be used at any VW service department. Something I was unaware of until after our purchase.As a result, my wife and I have used Riverside VW as a first choice for service not wishing to give Cardinale more of our time and money. However, I am happy to report that last week on June 24th, 2020, we had to use our extended warranty for a 3rd A/C compressor replacement (a known issue with VWs) and we were assisted by an amazing Service Advisor, Sean who treated us very well. He helped make sure we didnt have to pay anything additional for the warranty service and a door gasket that seemed to have been installed/replaced improperly with cruddy glue prior to our ownership. I was very pleased with everything and made a follow-up call to thank him the following week.Unfortunately, I learned that in the course of less than a week, he is now gone and no longer at Cardinale VW. I was disappointed as his service made me want to return to this dealership for additional help from him. I wish him well and hope to bump into him in the near future. For whatever the reason for his departure, thank you Cardinale for having him on your team.

VW Sold my dad a car on 04/21/2020 which they did not disclose to him had been in an accident. Until he found this out himself when he got home. He returned the car to them on 04/24/2020 to be told that they would sell him another car and keep the contract the same. Only this time they decided to sneak additional fees into the contract that were unnecessary as he already told them he did not need a warranty. After been told the vehicle was serviced he got home to find the oil was low and hadn’t been changed and the filters were clogged. This car was not serviced. After returning the vehicle again, inconveniently on our time which is 12 hours at the dealership in total now, they agreed to return the vehicle for the $350 restocking fee which should have been waived due to all the inconvenience of having to drive all the way from Hemet 3 times in due to their faults! Worst dealership with the rudest finance manager, Samir was the rudest person I have dealt with after working in the car business for 8 years. Informing us on the way out we could not steal his pen as we put it down from signing papers. Do not do business here!!!!

I came in to the dealer for a recall on my vehicle I was also interested in using my platinum warranty I had purchased when I bought it out in July 2019 and had never used it so when I came in I asked to use my maintenance. I also asked for a car wash and if they could install a turbo emblem on the back of my vehicle I had no problem paying for the emblem The service provider said no problem we will take care of all your needs and Ill cover the emblem no charge. My car was at the dealer all day and I was without my vehicle all day when I came to pick it up the service provider said I DID NOT have the platinum maintenance even though I had the paper work to prove it, he also said the emblem was going to cost $100 plus labor I dont mind the price I mind that he said he would cover it no charge then it was a different story when I picked it up my vehicle. Also my vehicle was not washed which the service provider said no problem to when I asked if it could get a wash when I dropped it off. When I mentioned it wasnt washed at pick up he replied that the detailers who do the car washes have been laid off due Covid 19, I understand the predicament I just dont understand why he told me he would wash it if there was NO ONE to do the car washes. My car was there all day yet no one called me after the recall was done to let me know they couldnt do the maintenance or carwash. Over all very disappointed with the service provided as well as the dealer who sold me the maintenance. I was sent an email with a survey which I explained what Im stating here in my review and no one has reached out me me seems like they dont care about their customers or their experiences there at their dealership. I work at a auto repair shop and this isnt how to treat customers when they come in for service.

Almost two years later and Im STILL dealing with bull**** from these guys. STEER CLEAR.I was in communication with one of the salespersons who from the very start baited and switched the vehicle we had been emailing about to the some that he actually had in inventory. Then he would not disclose how much in additional extras the dealership added on under the guise of customer protection and value. I had to contact the store manager directly to get an answer. Over $1500 in unremovable additional extras are tacked on to the final price...at the time this was mentioned NO WHERE online or in the quote they generated for me. I told the salesperson I felt that this was false advertising and he blew up at me. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and had a much happier experience without any shady, slimy nonsense.To add insult to injury, I keep getting re-enlisted in their email spam marketing. I have opted out, called the store manager at least half a dozen times, and flagged these emails as spam...but sure enough every couple weeks I keep getting re-enlisted. Its a disaster here.

The shadiest dealer I have ever been to. They wasted my time for a good 4hrs today. The sales person was excellent but the finance team was extremely pushy and borderline illegal. They even bragged to me about turning down a cash offer because they “have to finance cars”. They pushed and kept changing their story about a $1200 service plan that they couldn’t even tell me where it was even valid. Then they attempted to sell me another car for a better deal... which was more expensive. I should have ran when they offered me 60 months at $457 for a 5 thousand dollar car. The end would be 30k for a car that cost 7965 with 2,000 down. Avoid them at all cost, unless you’re prepared to watch grown men act like immature babies and storm off in the middle of a conversation. Mr. Gucci belt was extremely rude and is a crook even hanging up on my father who was trying to get answers. I ended up walking away from the dealer and the sale person even stated “I don’t blame you, I wouldn’t want to be treated this way either”. Horrible customer service and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Took my MK7 GTI here today for service. Everyone there was so kind and my car was already in the shop getting checked within 10 minutes of being there. Ask for Vincent! He was incredibly helpful and very honest. These guys will literally take care of you to the point of buying you a pumpkin spice latte if you needed one. The manager over there was awesome as well very nice to talk to and reassured me that they would take care of me and offered me the latte. I was looking at a 2014 Volkswagen Passat. Thank you guys!

I spoke to 6 dealers and either they didnt want to work with me on the price or they couldnt get the car.Ryan set everything up so that I showed up, test drove, signed and drove home. Quick and easy process; didnt try to push any additional items or get me to finance through them.I highly recommend this dealership.

I drove 2.5 hours to see a car that had already been sold. I spoke to them throughout the week and I had scheduled to see it. I even receive a text on the morning of the appointment day, reassuring them Id be there. I understand that they wouldnt wait for me to sell the car, but I find it inexcusable that they wouldnt at inform me before I make the drive. Other than that they seemed polite for the 10min a was there.

The bad review is about truthfulness, they tell you one thing to bring you in. I agreed with them on a price for a car then when the time comes the salesperson comes up with a different number telling me to my face that she misheard her manager when he gave her the final offer though I confirmed with her the price. All I got from them is an inquiry added to my credit score.

The service department here is probably the WORST Volkswagen has here in SoCal. I will gladly drive over an hour away to my old dealership, than waste another day dealing with cardinale. Their service people can’t answer simple direct questions. The time frames they give for repairs to be completed, are bogus. They don’t give loaners. I will NEVER be back. They find ways to charge you for things covered in your warranty. They are the worst of the worst.

I called Michael, Service Advisor and asked him if the water pump service covered in my 2011 VW that I purchased at their dealership in 2013. He informed me that the VW extended warranty changed to 100K miles and that my GTI was covered. He also said the repairs could be done that day (Saturday). So within 15 minutes I’m at Cardinale VW Service for my car repairs. My son and I waited over 30 minutes to get my car checked in because Michael was attending to other customers. I should have walked at this point around 9:30am. Michael writes up the repair estimate he would try to get the repairs done that day. I called Michael at 4pm to check my car. He tells me that my car was just checked in by a service mechanic and said he would get an estimate but my repairs would not be completed that day. He then calls me that the their mechanic found an oil leak which may have contributed to the damage to water pump. If so, my car repairs would not be covered under warranty and the cost for diagnostic was $160, $366 tear down, $1,000 for repairs plus the cost for parts. At this point, I was absolutely livid. Throughout my lifetime I’ve been loyal to the VW car brand and have experienced good honest and reasonable service at other VW repair dealership other than Cardinale VW. Michael’s BAIT AND SWITCH REPAIR ESTIMATE was ridiculously stupid! Not to mention I called a few times to check on my car and was placed on hold for 15 minutes without anyone picking up the phone! My son used my GTI to commute to his college so when he had to inconveniently pick it up, immediately he noticed there were other damages that their service mechanic did to my car! Got a letter to come in and turn in our lease and get this great deal because we were such great customers! That didnt happen sales person named Johnny was terrible 😕 Was only interested in making a sale because his rent was due. even called us after we left visible upset to see if we wanted to complete a horrible deal which would of increased our monthly payments of 200.00. I was working with Victoria in their internet sales department and we had an agreed upon price and terms for a lease all documented via text. But when I made the long commute to their dealership to finalize the deal they did not honor the pricing quoted via text. They did a total bait and switch and tried to rip me off. This place is extremely shady and everyone should be aware of their tactics. In talking to other VW dealerships they all told me that they were extremely shady but I didn’t listen. At the end of the day I ended up leasing from a different dealership and they honored the price that was discussed over text.

I would leave Cardinal VW used cars a minus 100 stars if I could! Such unethical business operation, especially during COVID-19. I bought a 2013 Red Mini Cooper from them online and after going back and forth on the price, they finally sold it to me exactly $1000 more than what I initially offered them while it was announced: it starts and it is drivable. Well after I received the car in San Diego by the TOW Truck transportation I found out the engine didnt start and it was blown (due to massive overheating and oil & coolant formed a thick foam/mud inside the engine!!!) Now it needs over $6000 in repairs!!! What bothers me is that they did not accept my initial lower offer online knowing I could not see or start this car that had a bad blown engine + more! Their announcement on line was False advertising and straight out lie, selling a bad car like that, AS IS!!?? Im going to practice my rights in court of law against these frauds at their USED CAR Department!
