Plenty of other game store around or shop online.. Buyer beware here.Gary/Owner is extremely rude and cares nothing for you aside from your wallet.To many rude encounters and overheard conversations. Top it off he edits comments on Facebook and will ban you if he does not like what you have to say.Find another store. Phoenix games, Games of Berkeley just to name a few. More around if you Google. I have mixed feelings about Black Diamond. Ive spent hundreds of dollars and a lot of time here. The employees are definitely the best part. Theyre all helpful, cool, and obviously love what they do. But the MTG tournament experience is lessened by the uncomfortable chairs and no a/c policy. After 2 matches, youre sweaty and your back aches. And theres no ventilation so its miserable all year round. Thankfully, the regulars wear deodorant. I plan on entertaining at least one more FNM when drafts resume but if its still sweaty and gross Ill probably have to stop its just too much 😭

Huge selection of stuff. I was looking for D&D stuff but the board game selection was awesome. They have a buy one get one shelf as well which had some decent stuff. I was very happy with the dice selection as well and picked up yet another set. I went there looking for a vinyl playmat and they have two sizes which I didnt even know was a thing. It was a they come in pints? moments and they didnt make fun of me for my excitement..

Really good selection of books and games. Their gaming space looks good, huge and well lit. The guys playing Magic back there looked well organized.For D&D 5e, they have a nice section of third party books that were exactly what I was looking for.

This well stocked local Concord game store appears to be settling comfortably back into normal. It was awesome to see the game room turnout, and the customers browsing seemed to be finding new games to enjoy. With both board games and RPGs (and additional accessories for both), AND a welcoming staff, we were excited to see them up, running, and doing what they do best!

What a great game store! Huge selection of everything imaginable. Despite being in a old strip mall, the store was warm and inviting. I had some substantial interaction with the sales person whom I found to be friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I dont get the opportunity to be in the Concord area very often, but when I do I will make an effort to return for more shopping at Black Diamond.

Having shopped here multiple times since we moved to the Bay Area since last summer, it was shocking to me that I had to actually go back and change my review.Originally I rated this place as 5/5 stars due to their staff presence and cordial nature and they had a great selection of Warhammer 40k and Games Workshop items in general.But I found out recently that on their social media platforms, if you mention anything other than their store, you will get blocked and kicked from their Facebook groups with no warnings. I was told by the owner that I was spamming for trying to spread awareness of other events in the local area and other gamestores. I can definitely understand it if I was given a warning or just a headsup not to post of other stores (due to competition and sales, makes sense), but I wasnt even given that.The idea was to grow a community of tabletop gamers regardless of store and unfortunately I was stopped from doing that.Its unfortunate to say they lost a customer, and it is no fault to their staff, who even on the phone were super polite and just explained the cause of the conflict.

Great staff, good community, Ive gone to the store since I was 12 to partake in there Pathfinder Tuesday sessions.If youre looking for something magic related just start talking to the person at the counter and at odds are theyll know what youre talking about halfway through, honestly sad that they stopped having Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments a long time ago. Its the only card game I put any irl effort into anymore and so for that reason I havent been back in a year since a different store does offer it.The store looks physically wonderful, the second floor provides an amazing amount of space for events, and if I ever get back into ttrpgs or Warhammer Ill be coming in a lot more

Always really nice and helpful employees. They have a ton of games, and they also have supplies for miniature painting, among other things. Im really glad the employees can always answer my questions, theyre so helpful!

Hands down the best store in Concord and I love this store. This store has everything you need from d&d, Warhammer, games and even to magic the gathering and Pokémon card. I highly recommend coming here

The few staff I have asked for recommendations were very knowledgeable and helpful.If you havent been - go check them out. You wont be disappointed!

They have all the latest and hard to find board games. Its a joy to browse the store and I always find something new to take home there. Its a 30 minute drive from my house, but well worth it for me. In fact, Ive stopped going to any other FLGS.

This place is really neat. They have pretty much any popular board game, tabletop game, and card game you can think of, painted and unpainted minis, and they’ll order anything they don’t have if you want without ripping you off.They don’t have too much in terms of merch but that’s probably good as it means the focus is more on the games.I got evolution and it’s expansion, a Harry Potter charm necklace for my wife, and my friend got magic the gathering booster packs.Their website also has a calendar for when they have live game nights though the night we went was their off day.The best thing by far though, is that the place is really clean and doesn’t smell like body odor (unlike similar places I’ve been to elsewhere).

Definitely an industry hit hard by the pandemic but they continue to soldier on! They have managed to create an easy to use online store and their physical store is still open and cleaned regularly. Cant wait for them to have in person gaming again!

Went with a friend to check out games. Good selection of many types of games. I even found a Warhammer novel.The staff was very helpful and polite.All employees were wearing mask and they enforced mask wearing to the customers. +++

I knew it was only a matter of time before a business asks me to put a mask on my two year old, I just didnt think Id witness a family turned away because they didnt want to put a mask on thier newborn child. Thats just absolutely rediculous ! In addition and response to your reply, even though it was inconvenient to put a mask on my 2-year-old son as no other business has asked I do understand that that is within guidelines . But when they asked the family behind me to put a mask on their newborn child that is just plain cruel and excessive.

Super store to deal with. Ive gotten into D&D in a big way since COVID-19 ramped up and these guys are really great to work with. They have pulled me away from online retailers and now Im committed to my neighborhood game shop! Great Selection and great prices!

As someone who lost her father to COVID in December, it means the world to me that your store has taken the pandemic seriously since the beginning and implemented solid COVID protocols to keep your employees and customers safe. I was a loyal customer before the pandemic, but Im even more so now.

Ive been to this store a handful of times, and they usually have a decent range of games at competitive prices, but when I see a retail store sell scarcity items like new Pokémon and Magic boosters at scalper prices, I can no longer support them, which is sad because I like the store over all, but part of being a retail shop should be selling at retail prices and not trying capitalize on their position to be able to purchase direct from the manufacturer and then sell at double the MSRP.

Wider selection for D&D figures than most places in San Francisco with no parking hassle and a price to match. When in the area its a no brainer to stop in and see whats available

Huge inventory of miniatures, puzzles, boardgames, sourcebooks/material for tabletop games and all sorts of extras for your sessions. Im looking forward to when things can fully open again and they host their various in-person events like games and tournaments!

Ive been here a few times and i love their tactics. For the most part they let you be, but they answer every question and leave an open ended comment in case you want to chime back in or ask another question. Ive been to other stores where they bombard you with their life story or whats better. These guys dont do it opinion base. They give options, and as stated before leave it open ended. Store is always clean they have pick up option now. Gonna visit their facebook group and website next. I have no problem traveling from Brentwood to see these guys

This place has the best board game selection in the city, whether Table top or for family night. The only downside is they sell at recommended retail price versus online retailers were you can get most RPG books for half the price, but their staff, and custom dice selection, more than certainly make up for it.

Great store with an awesome collection of Warhammer AOS & 40K, DnD and classic board games. Looking forward to getting some games in when things open back up!

Decided to brave the world (COVID 2020) with some hobby shopping, and my visit to Black Diamond was wonderful! Staff was super considerate, and the store was situated/stocked very well with consideration of product and also customer safety. (I appreciated that there were D&D minis organized as seperate stacks, so you didnt have to touch too many boosters to try and find a figure)

Great local game shop located in a strip mall. Has a decent selection, including new and upcoming games. Has ding and dent sales occasionally. Has a two-story gaming area with tables in the back for Magic the Gathering, Pathfinder and board games. Sells some fun dice and accessories as well as game guides and DM books. Would recommend for your local needs.

First time in the shop. Great experience. Zack gave us a quick tour of the shop and answered all my questions. A lady also gave my son a mtg starter duel deck. Great place super clean and chill environment.

Theres events too; while I havent attended a lot of them myself, I have heard good things.

My two brothers come during the weekend to play card games - its not my thing, but they seem to love it. The atmosphere is raging with testosterone levels. Im really digging the new addition to upstairs, though. Id be down to go more often if the store opened up a small section upstairs where you could possibly plug in your console and battle it out with other people. Also, this store is very organized. There are so many games available in stock, which is a huge bonus for me.

I love this game shop. They are always super nice and their the selection is pretty big. They recently added a second level for more gaming space which i think was a great idea. They also have a ton of events like their indie rpg night on Saturdays. Where you can play other table tops rpgs that arent d&d. Stop in and play some games with me! :3

Freaking LOVE this store!!! If they dont have a game, they can usually order it for you. And if youre looking for something new, the employees can tell you how to play any of them or if theyre any fun or how complicated.

Black Diamond Games is a clean, friendly, community games store that has game events very frequently. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, make good recommendations, and are almost always willing to explain WHY they recommend what they are recommending.But its the events that really make this store shine. These events are well-attended and let you meet all the local folk who like your favorite games. As we all know, a game isnt much fun without players, and Black Diamond Games brings the fun.

Extremely helpful for a couple of n00bs like me and my husband.We came here to get the D&D fix and got so much info. They even have beginners groups that play there. If we would’ve gone later in the day we could’ve watched some of the experts play!Special thanks to Camille for all her help and knowledge. She’s awesome. :)

Ive had a love-hate relation with this store. The facility is clean and well-stocked and staff is knowledgeable if not always friendly. They support several events throughout the week, although the open play policy here is incredibly restrictive and playing outside of events seems to be discouraged. The prices are good and they are a great experience for ordering (good communication, decent turnaround, no lost orders so far). My wife unfortunately has had a terrible experience in here twice and now refuses to enter the store. I still recommend the place for RPG players, but have stopped for miniatures as the store policies and staff opinions on the hobby are not positive in the least.

I love Black Diamond Games! A game store in this day and age where you can go and actually buy a game and bring it home to same day?!? Fugghedaboudit! Prices are much higher than you can get on Amazon, but the convenience is awesome! As long as they have your game in stock, which isnt always the case. They need to stock more LOTR card game adventure packs and smaller indie games like Hostage Negotiator.

Ive been coming to Black Diamond before they had two floors . Back then they use to have a huge yugioh community however now i go every Wednesday for Pokemon TCG. The building now that its remodeled its 100 times better . The main entrance you can look around and find all kinds of board games, puzzles, Accessories, ...etc . They even have magic league play and D.A.D which is pretty cool . Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable . I can only hope the best for this spot . If your looking for competitive Pokemon tcg player show up on Wednesday at 6 and youll be sure to find friendly players and even trades !

This is a fantastic nerd store - tons of board games, minatures, table top games, and an awesome game play area. Great for locals who are looking for a have or to engage with a community with common interests.

Visited recently after their remodel and it looks fantastic! Seems that theyve increased their general merch stock (hats, wallets, accessories, etc...) which is nice to see. Ive come here for years and will continue to do so, as the staff and customers are all very friendly and helpful.

I wish we had more time to look around. We were visiting friends in Concord and dropped by to see what they had, and they had a lot! Board games for sale (dent sale, or something), where my wife went crazy, and different minis than I had seen before, plus the standard stuff you expect for a game store with dice, minis, board games, cards, paints, etc.Nice staff and a good location. Barely got wet, even with the torrential rain that was going on.Nice gaming room in the rear of the store - wish I lived here so I could take advantage of it.Next time we visit Concord, well be back!
