Cozy place for a meal. It was exceptionally crowded for Saturday lunch and we waited ~30 mins for a table. The place looked understaffed and the available staff was clearly trying their best.Food was well made but some items arrived cold, especially avocado toast was disappointing. Food and pricey compared to similar establishments.
I ordered 3 Açaí bowls. It was my little sisters first experience and I wanted her to try it from the place I’ve been bragging about just to get home, open bag, and see this 😭Update: The manager was amazing, apologized, and gave me a refund for the 2 açaí bowls that I was unhappy about. So I changed from 2 stars to 5! I
They were really slammed so the service was not the best but it wasnt any of the staff or restaurants fault. The chili here is one of my favorites, not spicy but sweet and hearty I believe they put squash or pumpkin in there which is so tasty and adds a lot of flavor and texture. The best part of the chili is the sweet sugary cornbread they give you with it and it just works so well.
This place is such a delight. Stopped here during a short adventure in Concord. Everyone was friendly. They have an outdoor seating that is well disinfected after each customer/s. The food was delicious!!!! Ordered the fried zucchini that’s grown from their garden. The artichoke chicken piccata was also tasty! I love that they incorporated the artichoke in the dish! Will certainly be back here.
Stopped in for breakfast while visiting the town of Concord. Breakfast was great served quick and hot! The waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean. Next time I visit Concord Ill make sure to stop in and grab a bite!
It was busy for brunch, I wish they took reservations, but oh well. The food and drinks arrived in a timely fashion and were delicious. We had a hard time flagging down the waiter again to get some salt and pepper shakers and order another round of drinks, but to be fair we didnt try hard enough and just made do.
A delicious Shrimp and Scallop Risotto! Great service despite being short handed. Well done Main Streets!
I loved this cozy restaurant. They had everything you could think of on their menu from breakfast, lunch, appetizers, soups, sandwiches, plus meals. They also have a bar and very friendly and speedy wait staff. Coffee was delicious too.
It took over 40 minutes ( I think it was longer) to get our breakfast. There was only one seated group before us who already had their food. A bunch of people came afterwards and half of those people had their food before us. They said their printer went down but people ordering after us got food? We heard the wait staff was short because someone called in so the owner came in but he looked clueless. The wait staff has always been great but they need to fix their kitchen. Its not the first time food took awhile.
Always a worthy stop when Im passing through Concord. Plus they have a super cute after seating area.
I love coming here for a quick bite to eat, sometimes the wait may be longer but I dont mind. Its worth it to support local businesses and shops. Its mostly in a timely manner and food portions are good as well as making good leftovers. Please support local businesses!
Good pastries and coffee.. not inexpensive...
I stopped by on my way through Massachusetts and grabbed a coffee and delicious slice of red velvet cake. It was a nice stop on my road trip, but I foolishly left something behind, and called to find that an employee had found it and was keeping it safe. The manager went out of their way to mail it to me to save me a long trip, and Im grateful they took the time to do that.
Food is not bad. Experience was eh. Was there for a quick breakfast and a friend called in. I video chatted for couple minutes and this waitress, an older lady went over(I was all the way in the corner) and told me she could hear me talking and had to shut me down. I was like excuse me? I can turn the volume down but frankly I was just talking like other people do, there were two more customers at the restaurant. Anyways, the wording from her could be better
Waited over an hour! No service, cold overpriced food, missing drinks, bad manager. Here’s the facts: Placed order 10:29am. I was asked ahead of time for a tip even though I was not getting service in the outdoor seating. Regardless I gave a tip of 18%. I was given a buzzer and told where to pick up when it goes off. All they had to do was buzz me when the food was ready for that $13 tip!55 mins later, still with no buzzer going off I went to check and my food is sitting out getting cold. Nobody bothered to buzz me. I showed it to the man working there and he said it’s probably not there long cos it’s coming out so fast. That’s not my point, I’m 50+ minutes waiting for food, I gave a tip and all you had to do what push the buzzer to let me know it’s ready. I take the food to my seat and it’s cold. No drinks either. $15 of drinks missing that I paid for. I go back in and reorder the drinks a second time after a further ten minutes of waiting for the second time reminding them for my drinks I just asked for a refund on the drinks and the 18% tip considering I’m the waiter doing all their work. If your that incompetent again then I’m done. That’s when the manager came over, and initially was fine but then insisted and argued with me in front of patrons that I was lying about the buzzer not going off. That’s when I had enough. Lousy service and cold food, missing the usual accompaniments like toast etc Complete incompetence and unwillingness to just be responsible and accountable.Stop asking patrons for 18% plus tips to serve themselves!Fix your buzzer that’s not working.Ended up leaving at 11:52 almost one and a half hours after placing the order still hungry and missing food items. I will never be back there. Please stop taking customers if you can’t accommodate and provide service to them. Your just motivated by greed rather than service. Be honest with people and tell them they will be waiting an hour plus for breakfast
Im sure this is a nice place but I was ignored for several minutes. I watched as people that came in behind me were seated first. They had a garbage setup for host and customer engagement. There are few choices for food in town so this place gets hit up hard. It has a cute setup. If you dont get ignored.
Terrible service.Higher than greasy spoon prices with food served on paper plates and coffee in paper cups.I ordered regular eggs Benedict. After a long wait, they served me my order with no meat (no Canadian bacon/ham). Just eggs and sauce on a muffin. I had to chase down the waiter to tell them there was no meat in my eggs Benedict. She said sorry and took my plate. After another wait, a different waiter came to tell me there was no more Canadian bacon left, and if I would be okay with regular bacon. I said okay. After yet another wait, they brought me what was probably the same eggs and sauce with the bacon, but by this time, my food (and home fries) was completely cold. On top of that, the eggs were solidly overcooked.
The food was OK. This place has an amazing selection of desserts which is why you should come here. Please note, they have a Boston cream pie but it doesn’t have custard. Instead it’s more of a whipped cream which to me made it not a Boston cream pie. It was also very laid-back and slow server environment. Don’t get me wrong, our server was fantastic but with kids we didn’t want to be there forever. The building is really neat. It is around 350 years old and used to be a grocery store. It has stayed in the family and is now a restaurant. It was lots of fun to eat there.
Little hidden gem in metrowest in the town center of a wonderful Boston Suburb.Like the feel, the service and the alternative indoor and outdoor seating.
This was a great find. The food and service was really good. The resturant atmosphere is great, they kept the old market feel. Just a really fun little place to grab some good food.
A small menu but large portions of various sandwiches and burgers. The bowls are great too. Indoor and outdoor seating.
The worst customer service of my entire life. It seems like no one is trained, extremely rude, everyone is standing around while I’m waiting 2+ hours for my order. Management is horrendous and ignorant. Honestly the entire place needs new management. A lot of people are tricked because it appears historic and quaint but every single person outside is complaining at how long the service takes, how cold the food is. the staff does not care whatsoever. It’s just really sad that this is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to because I love Concord. Concord pleaseeee do something about this! This is the greatest town with the worst customer service at their most popular restaurant. Breaks my heart. Tourists need to tell the truth about this place! Get new management!!!
Excellent customer service. I only had a simple burger and fries, but it was adequate. Outdoor seating that is really comfortable.
Went to Main Streets Market & Cafe and they were so accommodating as we first thought about sitting outside after they closed down the seating. Manager Jennifer was totally on board with it and was in the process of making it happen when one of our party members felt it too chilly. Instantly, the offer to come indoors was made and we were given the front window with an incredible view. Then our server, Eddie prepared a drink that wasnt even on the menu. The cornbread was warm and sweet and our entire party was satisfied with their choices of pot roast, a burger (with substitution) and a salad with salmon. Friendly and professional staff and excellent food. Love this place and we have one Happy Mother celebrating an early Mothers Day!
Terrible food. I order hot coffee and come out the temperature is warm and the waitress get me another one but too sour. I change to ice coffee instead. California flatbread is terrible. Chicken is too tough and flavorless veggie is not fresh. The service is good and the manager give me the credit for the ice coffee. Sorry I wont come back again.
This is the perfect place. Been going here for many years. Always a great environment and great food.
If you are looking for a unique historic location with great food, you hit the jackpot going here. It was the best restaurant in our travels through Massachusetts.
2.5-3 star: Came on an early Sunday morning (8/25/2019). Server didnt place our order correctly. Ordered two fried eggs but only one came. Home fries were cold when it was served. One of the home fries was upgraded to their special version but regular home fries were served instead. The place wasnt busy at that time. Only three table (8 adult guests) and the place has opened for about an hour when we got there. Service was slow too. It was a disappointing experience.
We had been to this place before COVID 19 a few times and we loved it. Inside seating near the bar in the top area of the restaurant is the best. During COVID 19, the experience was just as nice! Crowded on the weekend, just like any good place - but the wait wasnt too bad. Outdoor seating was plentiful and well spread out. Staff were friendly and attentive.Food was delicious and affordable! Great variety of delicious and hearty food. Everything on the menu looks incredible - we got a Reuben sandwich and gyro this time around and both were so good. Top quality food and highest tier service.
Very bad smoothies, sugar water!!! Tasteless food, will not go back. We were all so disappointed, who makes sugar water these days and sell is as $7 smoothies? Had to throw away all of our 3 smoothies and the worst egg bowl! Gas station food
We came here for lunch after visiting Minutemen National Park. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly, but I was concerned about the lack of social distancing with the seating arrangements. Yes, the staff were all wearing masks and there was hand sanitiser everywhere. However, halfway during our meal they seated a party of six adults on the other side of the picnic table we were on. There’s a plastic barrier separating the two halves of the table on the tabletop, but not for the seats. We shifted as far to the end of our side of the table as possible, but even as two adults and two small children there was probably only 2 ft of space between us and the other party. All the other tables we could see looked pretty busy by then and we’d nearly finished, so we didn’t bother asking to move tables and just finished as quickly as we could.Sharing tables in Covid times is problematic enough, without trying to squeeze ten people on one table when they’re not in the same party. Probably two couples on far ends is as close as is safe on those things. I probably won’t be back as a result, which is a shame given the food was nice.
Very good service. I just had a basic burger and fries, but it was fine. Very comfortable outdoor seating.
Used to love this place- if theres a diet cola version of a restaurant experience, thats what we had. Just meh.Pro tip? If you order food to go, you can eat it at their picnic tables without waiting for outdoor dining.
This place really hit the spot for lunch on our bike ride from Boston to Walden Pond! Great sandwiches and had some satisfying home fries.
After waiting over an hour for chicken tenders and fries I checked on the food and the manager Jennifer was beyond rude and told me it’s not her problem and to go elsewhere. I live in Concord and she must be used to tourists who don’t come back so she can get away with that type of behavior but I highly recommend to go anywhere if you’re in the area. Extremely pricey and long service, even with all their help. Go to Helen’s!
Family atmosphere. Wonderful food. And drinks. Great place!!!
Fun, friendly place in Concord Center. Great outdoor seating (dogs allowed, outdoors). Decent menu variety. Service can be a little slow when its busy.
Took 30+ minutes to get the most simple sandwich ever. People who ordered 20 minutes after me got their food before me.
Ordered sandwiches and drinks for take out on a rainy day. The sandwiches were tasty, fries were fine and were likely better eaten fresh and off a plate, and the Italian soda was wonderfully refreshing on a hot day.
Delicious fresh salads. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Attentive staff. Totally enjoyable spot for lunch with friends.
The food was excellent, but the service was not desirable. We were told by the hostess that it was a 25 minute wait, so we waited. Once the hostess sat us, the server came and told us they were no longer seating customers outside. She reluctantly took our order and made sure she told other restaurant guests that she had to stay because we were there. We were very thankful she took our order; however, we ate very quickly to leave because we felt like we were not wanted. We were told numerous times how much side work there was for her to do.
Place is in perfect location. Food is good. Good beers on tap. On tourist season its impossible to get in. Its just not that good to wait for an hour to get in.
One of the worst experiences of my life. The whole staff is so rude. Unfortunate because this place is so nice but their attitude makes me never want to come back
The best onion rings Ive ever had! Chicken sandwich was delicious and huge! Tomato soup was house made and delicious!
Great food, great service - they even thought to bring our poor dog some iced water...very grateful!
The owner of the restaurant was very rude to us. We had breakfast there and it was ok, and they always forget to add the bread on the side. While we were waiting for the breakfast outside, we got 3 cups of coffee and an orange juice from another place, cause I prefer that coffee, and they dont have fresh orange juice. Once the owner saw the drinks from other place, he said we can not sit in that area. We showed him the order receipt on the phone and told him we already ordered 4 breakfast meals from his dinner and we are waiting for that and he went on explaining how he didnt make a profit from the cups of coffee that we bought from another place in a rude and aggressive way, thats not how we do it in this town. We get it. Its our accent that you dont like probably. Its ok, we are used to it! No shortage of that around here. I should have gave you 10 bucks so youd leave us alone. We werent inside your dinner. Outside sitting area with more than 5 or 6 tables at least which were empty. Needed a place to sit mostly to feed my 8 month old baby. We have used our trucks tailgate as table for our weekend breakfasts in Covid time and we will do that again! ;). Next time, before ruining a familys day because they had a cup of coffee while waiting for the take out order and sitting in your empty sitting area outside the dinner, think about your words. Smile, perhaps, and say what you wanna say in a nice way. Not in a rude, and snobby way. No need to let them know you are better than them. Keep it to yourself.
This has been a go-to place for me when I’m in Concord.... I am not sure I’ll be back. So many people behind the counter rushing around in a panic, but I still waited forever for a simple latte order. My order was obviously mislaid... no apology from Mgmt or staff, no comped drink either. Not how I would’ve handled it.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere - we ate here several times while in Concord.
Great food, prompt service - nice atmosphere to converse and have a nice meal. Quaint
The Menu was enchanting. The food felt like was cooked several days ago, just made us sad. We saw the couple next to us having a similar conversation so we think there must be something going on, it has always been such nice small place!
Looked pricey, but totally worth it. All high quality food!
The place is nice and broad, the menu was enchanting and the prices were very reasonable. rapidly, effective service and very personal staff. Will definitely recommend this place.
This place is awesome. I was there for a visit, it was my first time in town. This place made me feel good about the whole area. Great food, friendly staff and the ambiance is very cute. Will certainly come back if I end up nearby.
Fantastic food, great prices friendly service.
The salad and waffle are good.
Lots of waitresses and not busy but extremely slow service. Took over an hour for two sandwiches with no updates.
I think they do one of the best BLTs Ive ever had. And the onion rings are delish... finished off with raspberry lime rickey. Yum.
Visited on a real busy Sunday afternoon; weather was awesome for Feb when we decided to visit the Old North Bridge site and walked the 1/2mile or so to Concord center and found Main St Cafe among a hunch of great shops. Place was hopping. Great selection of really good food, drinks, and a friendly curtious staff. Once seated, service was fast and our choices were perfect! No pic of cafe, but Bridge is a short, nice walk down the street...
Very nice and friendly place to eat with outside seating. Staff were great. Highly Recommended.
Just awesome. Friendly, attentive staff selling world-class foods and coffee.
Good place to go for good food quick.
AWFUL experience. They took their time getting to us even though they weren’t busy, and when they could be bothered to come to the table they were beyond rude. Would not go back.
We always love to take a morning and go from Boston to Concord to specially have lunch at MSM& Cafe, but today was so sad to see experience it.We have been there post pandemic and was fine but today our waitress almost didn’t pay attention to the order to the point she forgot a couple very relevant things, brought the appetizer after the main dish, was rude...This plus the fact that the food felt like was cooked several days ago, just made us sad. We saw the couple next to us having a similar conversation so we think there must be something going on, it has always been such nice small place! We just really hope that it was just a bad day and it’s still the small restaurant we love!
This place used to be a go-to place for me but has really gone downhill.I called to order lunch for take away. Since it was a weekday, my time to grab lunch was not infinite. The server said over the phone that the order would be ready at +20 minutes. At +45 minutes, I asked the counter at the restaurant to check on my order. I could see the girl did not. At +1 hour, I asked the counter to check again. The counter now said that they had not taken my order and that it would now take between 30-40 minutes to make the sandwich. I left.
Great service and house burger with truffle fries hits the spot every time. Few beers on tap and small bar but they make it happen.
It was a toss up between a reuben ant the ultimate grilled cheese (with a meatball in it). I was recommended the ultimate grilled cheese. It was a run of the mill grilled chees with half a sliced meatball.Lack luster sandwich and a flytrap bar top. Wasnt good
Me and my boyfriend went on Feb 14 Valentine’s Day brunch around 12pm. giving this place a second chance. I mentioned to our waitress Gina that the waffles I ordered last time were cold and how i was disappointed, her answer was “okay” as a customer I would have loved to hear some kind of apology and reassurance that they will do better, she was so slow and had no good customer service, no smile, not friendly at all. So off putting. This place gets 0 ratings. Save your money, go somewhere.
Wide menu selection and alcohol offerings. Spacing and hanging plastics guards for covid protection. Food was delicious and quick with friendly service. My friend ordered the pad thai bowl which was like a nice peanut saucey noodles concoction both sweet and savory. I had indulged on a warm, creamy lobster roll on crunchy fresh lettuce, spruced up with sharp lemon to cut through the richness.
Not sure how this place gets 4.5 stars. The food is expensive, service is very slow/poor and the food is okay certainly not great. We had lunch today 4 sandwiches and a coffee which cost $65. A takeout burger is $19. We ordered at 2pm and were told it would be a 20 minute wait for the take out food. After asking what was going on 45 minutes later, a server went in and got our takeout food. Apparently someone forgot to get it. Given the wait the toasted bread on the sandwiches was soggy and the coffee cold. To add insult to injury I wanted to use the bathroom since we were waiting so long and when I tried to go a server stopped me and said the bathroom is only for patrons dining in. A fair of people seem to go here as it’s centrally located in Concord. I am sure there are other better places in the area.
Very friendly and always a great little spot to grab a bite or some coffee.
Service is frankly terrible as the Main Streets Market and Cafe have an older waitress that staff behind the counter do not appear to help. As a result, lets just say when you tell the waitress twice you are ready to order, she says “ok” then does not come back as she has to wait on the whole place, meanwhile, other staff are literally just standing around. Wait staff does not know the rules of ordering alcohol and food together and the place no longer has apple cider, hard cider, or even Budweiser, they no longer have proper cups for certain beverages, perhaps that is not completely their fault, however, with all this, you cant strand one waitress out there alone. We had drinks and could not get a food order so we paid our drink bill and walked over to the Colonial Inn and got instant food and drink service that Main Streets Market and Cafe simply can not logistically match. Skip going to Main Street Markets and Cafe, you are much better off going to Fiorella’s, Comella’s and the Colonial Inn
Best chicken tenders around! Also awesome Chilli and cornbread. One of my favorite spots for lunch
