Had a very poor experience at this shop. My car was under repair for 1 month. Ever time I would call the guy who was supposed to work on it was out and I was promised a call back... which never happened. I payed close to $1000 for repairs and none of the items that I had it in for were fixed. In fact, the thing that was partially broken, was now fully broken and I spent an extra $2000+ fixing the parts that were working before (ac compressor) When I finally picked it up I had some plastic pieces destroyed and the seats and upholstery (which were light gray) had visible oil stains on them. I was able to clean the seats since they were leather but the upholstery is ruined.I decided to give them a second chance with another car and dropped it off (bad idea), after not hearing anything for about a few days I changed my mind and called to pick it up. When I picked it up it smelled like someone took a bath in old motor oil and then sat in the seats. I had to spend a good weekend scrubbing the interior to get the smell out.If you value the interior of your cars, I suggest going to a more professional shop.

Everything was great concerning my experience with this auto shop. The customer service was excellent! The representative in the front office made me feel welcomed. The mechanics were able to fix my car issue in one day. Highly recommended & I will continue to use their auto shop in the future. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

This place went absolutely above and beyond with their care and service. After a long day of dealing with a car and getting it towed in the Carolina heat, we were blessed to have selected this facility to be towed to. They were so incredibly nice and always had a smile on their faces. They stayed a few minutes after they closed to allow us to put our car in their lot, and fixed the car by 4:00 p.m. the next day. We could not have gotten better customer service, and I highly recommend this shop to anyone. It was very affordable. They take Lincoln’s, and Mary Lou at the front was a sweetheart! I wish I could give higher than a 5 star review, but they truly are 5 star transmissions :)

Let me start by saying this will be my new go to place for ANYTHING having to do with my cars.I just moved to the Concord area about 2 years ago so it has been hard for me to find a good auto shop. Long story short this place blows the other 6 shops Ive been to so far out of the water. From customer service to taking to time to really drive my car to see my concerns. Explained to me they didnt want me spending money on things i didnt need at the moment, unlike other shops that were just trying to get money from me through parts and labor. After thoroughly driving my car they called me and let me know in detail every aspect of my concern. They took the time out to really explain everything that was going on and everything that might need my attention in the near future. NO OTHER auto shop has done that since Ive moved here two and a half years now. Just all around Great and Best experience Ive had!! - I was a little skeptical about who I let work on my car it being older, but I can tell you I feel comfortable and at ease with this shop. When a shop takes the time out to really explain in detail everything thats going on and everything you had concerns about cherish that because thats hard to find. Thanks for the help - GREAT JOB! This service crew was amazing. The staff here is honest and professional. The owner spent extra time with me to ensure that I fully understood what issues my car had (brakes and transmission flush). I called and told them I needed a transmission, but was asked if I was sure because there’s no need to do a costly repair when it may not be warranted. I appreciated this because they could have done the job that I requested without confirming it was necessary. They were very affordable and communicative. I was so pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of everyone that I also brought them my Jeep to repair an engine leak which was also affordable.

They were very professional and explained to me in detail what the issue was with my car, as well as being timely. I’ll definitely come here again!

I brought my car in because it was wandering all over the road. They did a thorough check and made the recommendation of what needed to be done to fix it. Although they don’t provide that service, I appreciated the time they took to diagnose the problem and tell me what I needed to do.

I brought my F150 to a local repair shop because it was leaking some type of oil. The mechanic at a fix all type of shop said that the gaskets to the transmission extension needed to be replaced. I decided to take it to a transmission repair shop. I found 5 Star Transmission & Total Auto Care on line and spoke with Mary Lou on the phone to make an appointment. She was extremely helpful and got me booked right away. When I brought my truck in on the day of my appointment, Wayne came right out to take a look at what was needed. After Wayne went under my truck to see for himself, we went into the office where he explained the problem as well as answered all of my questions. My truck was fixed properly right away and I felt what I paid for the repair was very reasonable. I would highly recommend 5 Star Transmission & Total Auto Care!

I just have to say that even though I didn’t have any actual work done to my vehicle the amount of knowledge I gathered from Wayne the owner was definitely 5 star. I have dealt with mechanics for almost 20 years and have done mostly all my own work but if I had to choose a tech other than myself it would be Wayne and his staff. Marilou is also very sweet and professional. I was treated very well and I respect that a lot. I would highly recommend this shop for any persons looking for any automotive repairs!! Didn’t end up using their services just because the cost of repair would have been more then the value of my vehicle. However, they were professional. Mary Lou was nice and they honored their free quote that was promised with no hassle. If I need repairs down the road, I will go back and refer them for others.

I recently used this shop to replace and repair my oil pan gasket and rear main seal. I spoke to Mary Lou before bringing it in, she was very helpful, patient, informative, and courteous. The work was completed in the time frame promised. So far so good no leaks seen. I would recommend this shop.

As a female without auto knowledge, dealing with car issues is stressful. My Dad works on cars himself, so moving away from home and taking my car to shops has been interesting. I was driving from Virginia to SC on a Friday afternoon when my 08 Sienna decided to break just outside Concord at a gas station. I was on my own in a strange place and had no idea what was wrong with my van. I called a tow and the driver told me it was almost definitely the transmission. He recommended 5 Star, so we towed it there. They told me the car wouldnt be able to be looked at until Monday, which I understood. They had me pay 50% of the estimated cost of a transmission, then they very kindly gave me a lift to a car rental place so I could be on my way. Over the next few days, I was given updates. After taking the time to really investigate the problem, instead of just switching the transmission like they couldve, they found out the problem was a much smaller, much cheaper, fix. Instead of getting charged more than $2500, like they had predicted for a new transmission, I was actually credited back most of the money Id already paid. The final bill was less than $700. They couldve easily taken advantage of me, especially being out of state during the repairs, but these guys were honest and helpful and made what was a terrible situation into an ultimately good experience. If they werent a 5 hour drive from my house, Id use then every time. Thank you all so much!

I had a transmission put in my Cadillac Escalade the lady at the front desk I think her name is Mary she was very informative keep me posted on what was going on they gave me a great price and then beat their own price whenever the service was done they were on time with the timeline they gave me I was able to pick my vehicle up on the day that they said. Im posting this review late because I drove my vehicle for 2 weeks I have had no problems out of it the transmission service they gave me was excellent I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a transmission service or just a transmission awesome place

5 Star truly deserves 5 stars! Our family discovered a transmission issue on our way back from our Thanksgiving trip to Tennessee. Took it to the dealership and was hit with sticker shock of their repair/replacement option after a brief diagnosis. Found 5 Star and they truly treated us like family. Not only did they take the time to identify the issue, they helped me understand what was going on and what they recommended. THEN, they went the extra mile to make sure I was completely taken care of. Talked with the owner at length who was super concerned for our issue and wanted to make sure everything was as it should be. They even asked me to come back in ten days later just so they could inspect the work and ensure everything is doing what it should at no charge to me. Debbie was so kind and helpful in the office and the guys in the shop worked hard to get me back on the road in time for our next family trip. Super impressed! Give them a try, for sure.

Had my transmission rebuilt with a high proformance, heavy duty parts as they suggested, did not last just past the warranty, (over $3,000)it was stuck in low, when I returned to have it checked, the so called mechanic said he saw nothing wrong! You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind, let alone a so called transmission mechanic not to see whats wrong, it was their way of telling me, get lost! You have been warned.

But I was told about this place and they wanted to see if there were other problems before going to the step of replacing it. It happened to be low oil which I thought the last place checked. So they saved me out of thousands of dollars. I would recommend this place to anyone. They are honest with you and will help you out the best they can.

I took my car to this automotive repair shop because my car would not crank and when it did it wouldnt stay crank long. It was puttering and skipping. I took my car to this shop on 4/23/19. These people took their own sweet time in fixing my car like it wasnt important enough. I kept calling and stopping by to see have they worked on my car. Customer service was bad. Its liked they got upset because I was checking up on my car when they wasnt doing anything to it. Once they found out that my car had diesel fuel in it. They should have told me they didnt have the time and they didnt know how to fix the problem and I would have immediately had my car taken to the dealership to get fixed. The comments that these employees made was terrible when I was checking up on my car. Some of the comments where we got other jobs to be working on, one technician stated to me that he should be working on his car. The same tech stated they are getting tired of putting gas in my car and for me to bring $30.00 so they can fill it up and drive it so they can get some of the diesel out. The tech stated he had to stop working on a $3,000.00 dollar job just to drive my car. Who does that? That was terrible customer service. This place had my car going on 3 weeks to do a job that took Nissan dealership one day to do. They told me I had to buy at part that was $259.48 so I bought it. Come to find out it was the wrong part they put on my car. I finally told them the beginning of the 3rd week that on 5/9 I will be picking my car up and it needed to be fixed. On 5/9 we went to get my car they wanted to charge me $755.00 for me to get my car. I told them I was not paying that and my car wasnt fixed. So the tech, myself and my family test drove the car. The car started to putt and skip. My car wasnt fixed. I told them I wasnt going to pay $755.00 for my car and it wasnt fixed. I had to pay $519.51 so I was able to take my car off the lot. I will not ever take my car to this place again. This place demonstrated bad customer service and labor service. I dont recommend anyone taking their vehicles there to be fixed.

I have stage 3, 2013 WRX.I had the clutch, flywheel, ect. replaced.They did a great job, took pictures before and after and gave me a heads up on parts that need to be monitored or replaced.

Friendly people and amazing customer service. I took my Volvo S40 here to get the AC serviced, and they told me the freon (R134a) was low. Previously, I had taken my car to Sears down the road and they quoted me $800+ for a new AC compressor. I knew something was up because the air kicked in as I left their parking lot. I havent taken it back since and dont plan to. 5 Star told me exactly what they did, but forgot to tell me how much it would cost. When I went to pick up my car, they told me it was on them! I was super happy when I heard this! I know these occasions are rare, but it was a great experience nonetheless. I will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing experience with 5 Star Transmission. One of our trucks broke down as we were passing through the area and 5 Star picked up our truck and driver at no charge and got us in the shop first thing in the morning. Within a couple of hours we had a diagnostic, an easy to understand explanation of the issues, knowledgeable advice, and a reasonable quote. They ordered the parts quickly and replaced the transmission within a day. We were back on the road again within a day and a half. Great customer service with friendly team members. I was helping a friend move from Birmingham, AL to Concord, NC. I got 1 mile from her new apartment, and the differential completely locked up in my truck, locking the rear wheels and shearing the drive shaft bolts.I searched online with my smart phone, and based on previous reviews and recommendations, I called 5 Star.Debbie is fantastic!They came and towed my truck in. I found a ride back to Alabama, and a week later I came back for my truck.Repairs had been finished as promised and my truck was waiting on me.I picked up the truck at 2 AM and drove back to Alabama.All of this was accomplished over the phone! I never met any of the staff in person.!Fantastic service. Friendly. Great work.If I am ever in town again, I will definitely stop by and thank all of you in person.RECOMMENDED!

This shop has done a lot of work on my jeep. They are always professional and quick to get the work done in a timely manner. Wayne is an excellent owner who takes pride in his business. He took a whole day attempting to troubleshoot an intermittent problem I was having and then went above and beyond to test before attempting a costly repair another shop told me I needed and figured out I didnt need the repair. They are upfront about their schedule and will inform you that work may take a little longer than expected due to other work in front of yours.I reccomend this place to many people, and have read some reviews stating they are overpriced. Ive never overpaid for any work there, however they are not the cheapest. If you want the cheapest jon boy and Jethro might could do it for ya in their front yard, but you get what you pay for. 5 star charges a fair price for quality work, and will continue to receive my business.

Twice now, these folks have helped me out of a jam in less than 24 hours both times. Starter went out the day before Thanksgiving early in the morning. Fortunately, I had the day off, but they didnt get my car till noon. Even so, they had it ready by 3:30pm!! Upon arriving with my daughter to pick up the car, I noticed there was no room on the parking lot, they were so busy!! How they got me in and out so quickly is beyond me!The second time was just two days ago, June 4. Said new starter failed on me 25 miles from home. After a terrifying ride home in a rollback, my Civic was delivered to 5-Star at 10 pm. The following morning when their doors opened, once again with the help of my wonderful daughter, I delivered the key and went back home to nap before work that afternoon. At 2:30 pm I got the call that my car was ready. Picked up the car, was charged nothing (one year warranty), and was only one hour late for work, and I had already discussed this situation with my boss.I cannot tell you how strongly I recommend these people. They have earned my continued business through courtesy, respect, and their making me feel like I was the ONLY person they were worried about. I thank them and urge everyone to give them a try. Hopefully for no emergencies like mine, but...theyll take care of you either way.

I called a lot of places before I found this place. I needed major transmission work, and their price and customer service was great. They were honest and did the work in a timely manner. I live 40min from this shop but it is the only place Ill take my car.

My work van was making a terrible sound from the rear end. I took it to five star thinking it was a transmission issue. They diagnosed the issue for me, found out it wasnt the transmission, and reached out to Hilbish Ford nearby. They found out the issue was not the transmission, it was a factory recall on the driveshaft. All of this at no charge. The honesty and guidance that they showed is extremely rare nowadays! Ill definitely be coming back here if I have any other issues. Thanks again guys.

I am very happy with this place, nobody would listen to me that I knew I needed a new transmission until I went here Debbie listened to me then watch a video of what the car was doing an knew right away. The service technicians spoke English and Spanish I dont remember his name but he even talked on the phone in Spanish to my boyfriend so he would understand what was going on. They took time to explain the process of replacing my transmission and make a recommendation. 5 Stars price for my transmission replacement was cheaper than other quotes I received. The replacement was fast and I had my car back in a couple of days. They even took time to show me my previous transmission that had been removed. The new transmission has been in my car now for about 6 months and works perfectly. Id be happy to recommend 5 Star for service and price.

Had to get my transmission replaced last week. Every time I called to check on my car or they called me to give me an update, it was always very pleasant. They fixed my car up for a fraction of what it wouldve been at the dealership and it did not take long either! I was very upfront around bringing in a modified car to take a look at the transmission as it was consistently overheating at highway speeds. They had it a full day and did nothing, absolutely nothing, came the next day to find them blaming the modifications (which have been on for 2 years an 50k miles) and had not even looked at the transmission. A transmission filter and fluid change ended up resolving the overheating issue

I was referred to 5 Star by a mechanic weve used for years who is finally retiring. I said You cant retire! Who would take care of my cars? He said the best shop he would recommend in Concord is 5 Star Transmission. I said that I wasnt sure I needed transmission repair shop but he assured me that they were really good at all manner of car repair and maintenance.I have a 2003 Ford Expedition in perfect condition with 214,000 miles on it that developed an engine problem last year. Long story short, the mechanics at 5 Star could have simply repaired the problem and sent me on my way, but in looking more closely to see why it occurred in the first place, they found the root cause that would have resulted in the problem reoccurring again and again. While it cost me a little more money in the short term, it saved me the inconvenience and annoyance of breaking down and being stranded again for the same problem that I would have thought I paid them to fix the first time.Over this Christmas, I had one more occasion to need their repair services, and once again found them to be fast and accurate at finding and fixing the problem. In both instances, I have found that they really seem motivated to take an interest in their customers as well as just doing good automotive repair. The owner was there both times and took the time to introduce himself and thank me for the opportunity to take care of my vehicle. The last time, even the mechanic that worked on my car thanked me for coming in.I see why my old mechanic recommended 5 Star so highly. I wouldnt go anywhere else now. They have me as a loyal customer from now on. I dont usually write reviews of businesses but this business is worth recommending! These are decent people that provide a great service at a competitive price. Spread the word!

I traveled to concord for the race from long Island N.Y. The second day I was there a transmission line broke and fried the transmission in my truck. I found this place online and went based on the reviews. They diagnosed and explained the how and why it fried the trans. I went on a Thursday around noon. Being it was a holiday weekend they were able to get me back on the road the next Tuesday with a manufacturer rebuild transmission. Super nice people and priced the same as aamco who were just going to fix the broken parts. Made it back home with no issues. Highly recommend them.

I simply called to speak with someone as they were referred but Debbie seemed quite irritated that I disturbed her lunch. Looks like I will be looking to take my business elsewhere an will be sure to tell the folks that referred them maybe to think twice before referring them again... I didnt even get a foot in the door and had a bad experience... geez

These folks were very professional, very kind and made me feel very comfortable, even though I was very nervous about being a woman with transmission problems. They explained the situation in very easy to understand terms and told me what they would do and the prices so that I could make the best decision about my vehicle. They even brought me home so that I could leave my Tracker to be repaired. Its been several months since my repair and my vehicle is in tip-top shape (even though its 25 years old)!!
