Delicious ice cream! There is a nice open low counter to watch your order be made. The staff is friendly and practiced good sanitary measures. The menu was large and included pictures - easy for customers to see and understand. My only complaint is the narrow doorway - it became crowded and would not be good for wheelchair access. Overall great Short North spot!
Great place. Ordered Salted caramel which nothing short of amazing! Their whipped cream has a good weight to it and it was not overwhelmingly sweet like in most places. This place has a similar concept as Cold Stone ice-cream, where they use cold plate to mix your ice-cream with other goodies and they use a spatula to scrape it off into a cup in a small rolled up form. Staff was great too!
Absolutely delicious! Watch as your ice cream is made from scratch
This is some of the best Ive cream I have ever had in my life. I drive 2 hours just to get this ice cream, because its not in my city yet
I love rolled ice cream even though it is super expensive. It is a cool concept and entertaining to watch them make it they are the Japanese steakhouse of ice cream. I love the unique flavor combinations I had a smores and my daughter had a pride ice cream made with a rainbow cupcake and rainbow candies
The matcha berry didn’t taste like matcha. It was mixed with berries, so I barely tasted any of the matcha. I sat by the end of the shop, and there was garbage that wasn’t taken out. Idk, not a fan bro
Decor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️I was so excited that I could have rolled ice-cream from Thailand!!The place is big has plenty of room for everybody staff was nice but they talked to each other too much while they making ice-cream. Please dont get me wrong but I just think they should have mask cover.. I dont care when theyre talking because that meant theyre happy but...yeah...About the taste I think it was okay, I got the strawberry one. Back home they just use regular cream or milk so it makes no taste or smell, just strawberry. But when they have just vanilla, for me its too sweet(?) I dont know what to say but I just dont like when theyre not plain. Will come back and try something else! ✌🏻
Always a great time at Simply Rolled! Quite a few customers, but the team working was able to get everyone in and out in an efficient manner.
A unique way to prepare ice cream where you pick your ice cream base and toppings, and they spread it out on a cold plate where it freezes into ice cream. Its then rolled up into about 6 rolls and served. They have about 10 or so recipes that are picked for you and usually include an extra topping, or you can pick your own toppings and flavor.
This place is ok. There isn’t a whole lot of seating options, and the customer service I got wasn’t too great. It seems that the lady who took my order was more concerned about my mask being high enough over my nose than listening to my order since I had to repeat it 3 times, so that was very annoying. They didn’t put enough ice cream in my cup, but considering how they responded to everything I didn’t expect very much out of them. It was good ice cream, but I didn’t care for the atmosphere here. Especially since their choice in music was disgusting. I can’t promise I will return...
If youre coming here for an Instagram story youll love it but based on the ice cream alone this place is underwhelming. $7 is an insane price for what amounts to a half cup of ice cream disguised to look bigger. Its not even that creamy although the mixins are pretty good. Stack that on top of a 30 minute wait and I struggle to see why people would come back. Jenis is a much better option.
Incredibly novel and tons of fun. You can add whatever your heart desires to these fancy ive cream rolls, from Poki to berries, to lavender honey. It is worth fighting to park amd stamding in line. The spoons change color with cold too!
All the flavors I have tried so far (matcha berry, oreo, thai tea, caramel) are super yummy! Would love to go there again. Highly recommend.
I was surprised by how small the location is inside. But once inside the place smelled wonderfully sweet and the process in which the rolls are made is very visually appealing. The menu only offered about 4 base (ice cream) choices and lots of items to mix in almost too many to choose from. The con is that they only had one size and it was $7 for about 5 or 6 rolls of ice cream which to me is a bit pricey. I wish there was at least 1 other size option like Cold Stone. There is a organic grocery store attached in the back but they are two separate businesses. I wouldnt recommend bringing a stroller, we did and ppl bumped the stroller with no excuse me and the baby was inside!! Overall it was the coolest way to have an ice cream experience but its not something I would personally do again. I gave it 3 stars because it was okay. Too crowded, too pricey, too small of a space.
Its pretty good! I got one with bananas and Nutella and whip cream. Watching them make the ice cream is half of the experience, so dont walk away and miss the magic happening! My friend got the Oreo one and said it also was really good, but I have to admit I think mine looked better. Whichever one you get, its sure to be a winner here at Simply Rolled Ice Cream.
Great selection of bases, toppings and add-ons! you can make anything you want but if you are new, try #1 to start with. I love tai tea base with Nutella, cinnamon and banana. Coconut ash is an interesting base if you wanna try something new!
Omg The first time I have ever been it was soooo good I ordered one for a take home of a different kind . Only gave it a 5 star because. There wasnt a 10 start thanks guys
Some of the best and most unique ice cream in Columbus
A fun atmosphere and very helpful staff highly recommended
They have the best rolled ice cream! Their flavors are spectacular, and they have the best toppings anyone could ask for. There is only one size, so be warned!
They sent me the wrong order. Ruined the whole experience.
This is not your typical ice cream place. The cream for the ice cream is poured on a cold metal plate and any ingredients you want can either be chopped and mixed into the cream or added as toppings once its rolled. The ice cream is scraped off the metal plate into rolls that look like taquitos. My fave ice cream for sure. Its colder than typical soft or scooped ice cream. It is expensive though, expect to spend about $7 per cup. In the picture its the summer berry special. Youve gotta try it out! #letsguide
Tasty ice cream
I chose to build my own rolled ice cream. It was great! Tip 1: Dont get two helpings of nutella. Tip 2: If you are going to mix in a lot of stuff, start with a vanilla base.
Kids love it. You can dine in
I keep coming back for more! This has become my fave place for ice cream and sorbets. Love that they are small batch. This way if you get the last of a flavor you can say; yeah I tried it but it sold out right after!
I love the ice cream BUT the fact that there is literally no attempt to work around contact allergens is definitely a deal breaker.Nut allergies shouldn’t be a deal breaker as to whether you can enjoy rolled ice cream.
Stopped in for a quick sweet fix and Wow! Went for the vegan Thin Mint and the vegan Salty Caramel Pretzel and they were incredibly delicious! Great friendly service and amazing ice cream!
Delicious! Love that they go through delivery apps. Their charcoal ice cream with mochi and condensed milk is my favorite. Their ice cream isn’t overly sweet which is a nice change from most ice cream shops in Columbus.
Although the line was long my husband and I still wanted to try since it was our first time visiting. Im more than excited we decided to wait. I got a vanilla base with cookie dough mix in plus caramel and then cookie dough and whipped cream on top 👌🏽😋 YUMMY! It was soooooo good! There will most definitely will be a family trip in the near future.
You choose different flavors and mixes to build your own rolled ice cream that looks like a rose. Its very Instagramable, but also very tasty. You wont regret coming here. They also have some very casual seating inside.
Different than any place ive ever been. Awesome, so yummy
Its on point luv it.
I ordered online and went to the store as soon as I got the text that it was ready. I had to wait behind people who were ordering. There was no sign directly where to go for pick up so I stood at the counter to ask someone. I was ignored so I went back in line. By the time I got my order it was melted. Disappointing experience.
Always wanted to try rolled ice cream so I gave this place a try while I was walking around the Short North. There can be a bit of a wait because it takes a while to make the ice cream, but its well worth it! They roll it up right before your eyes, its really neat. The presentation is great and the ice cream has a ton of flavor. Prices are fair for the quality of what you get and the experience. Id reccomend giving this place a try!
Simple rolled ice cream, nothing amazing but certainly good. Plenty of choices, easier to park somewhere and walk to instead of finding a spot near it. Friendly service, certainly a place to take kids to wow them on the idea and looks of rolled ice cream. Suggest people to stop and visit every so often.
Never heard of this type of ice cream store before. Really different and fun. Employees were so helpful and nice. Loved the product and will definitely be back. Very busy place, they picked the right spot, near the Ohio State university. Come prepared to wait.
We went here after dinner in the Short North, it was definitely a cool place to have ice cream and it was a different style of ice cream. The flavors were great, they had a moderate seating area with a big bench and pillows along one wall. I certainly wouldnt go out of my way to go here, but if I was in the area it would definitely be worth going back for another dish of rolled ice cream.
First time having rolled icecream was not disappointed with this location. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Highly recommended.
They have really good ice-cream menu and friendly staff
This place is so overrated, it isnt even funny. First, getting a stroller inside was incredibly difficult. The place is almost completely empty, the walls are grey, there are only cold metal chairs and it was very uninviting. The bathroom is in the back corner abs you need to touch a key to get in ( gross). We ordered a cotton candy burrito and there was such a small amount of ice cream, it melted almost immediately and we were left with a hard lump of wet cotton candy which was inedible. You couldnt pay me to go back. Take my advice people, just go down there street to Jenis... you wont be disappointed there.
Really good food, setting is not super well detailed, but nice place none the less.
Delicious all around definitely give this place a try!
So delicious! So many options and the ice cream is amazing 😍 super cute interior also!
First time trying rolled ice cream! Plenty of options. Our ice cream was fantastic and the back of the store was great for lounging. Will definitely go again.
It really does feel like a scam.... Sure, they put on a show (kinda) so Ill give it a star but past that, its just mediocre and overpriced. Sure it looks like a good amount when its in the cup, but its mostly air. You seriously can get just as good ice cream at a supermarket. Plus since its super chilled its extra cold and hurts my teeth more. And at $6.50+ a cup..... Yeah, thats a hard pass.
Amazing!!!!!! Not only is the ice cream amazing but, it is an experience that is fun and you get to choose your own items. Then they call you up and you get to watch them make your specific ice cream. If you have kids it is definitely worth the money, or its a perfect date or just a fun place to go and hang out! Great environment!!!
My boyfriend took me here the weekend after my birthday (6/18). After watching a lot of videos, I was super excited. The ice cream was great and the staff were friendly. The store was extremely crowded though and for a place serving ice cream, very hot. My boyfriend had to wait outside it was so hot. They should definitely think about coming up with a system to better serve their customers. The wait time was about twenty minutes and parking was horrible (It was the weekend of a festival though). Will be back for sure.
I loved this place! The staff was awesome, the facility was spotless and the ice cream was delicious. You have to stop and try this place!
Fun to watch them prepare it in front of you
Let me start by saying, I do not like ice cream. Yes, I know that makes me a pariah, but its just how it is. My niece and nephew dragged me kicking and screaming to Simply Rolled. I insisted that once youve tried one of these cold stone type places, youve tried them all. How narrow-minded of me. I ordered the #7, and I ate every bite! The freshness of the ice cream base being poured on an anti-griddle to make just enough ice cream FRESH for just my order is insane. I take co-workers there all the time just to see their reaction when they have it for the first time. Its THAT GOOD! Go. Youll thank me!
It was a good experience and good ice cream... as ice cream goes. The better half really enjoyed herself.
Pretty good place to in the downtown Columbus!Nice place to be, to satisfy your sweet tooth, marked at 7$ per cup. Could be crowded.Hard to find parking though, there is paid parking right across the street.
My husband and I went there to check out the place. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake portion and was totally captivated by them making out dessert in front of us. Definitely recommend!
THANK YOU PATRICK..you are super special .. my daughter (10) is newly diagnosed diabetic TYPE 1.. he help me convert and simplify the ingredients for a carbohydrates count.. she loves simply roll..now we know and can return again for ice cream.. THANKS PATRICK
The line was out the door but it moved quickly. Excited for vegan options. Delicious.
Whenever I come here, I always get the green tea ice cream with fruit and whipped cream. I should try the other flavors on the menu, but for now, Im fine with sticking with the one item thats always a winner for me. During the summer, theres often a LONG line, which isnt surprising. But occasionally, Ive lucked out and been the only person, or one of two people, in line, before the rush comes.
Fun times!
The staff made it such an awesome experience! They explained each part to our kids which made them feel special! Highly recommended and we will be back!
Neat idea! I got the salted caramel pretzel. It was very good. I tried my husbands Oreo which was ok. Will go back again to try the pineapple coconut flavor.
The staff are attentive and friendly. The service is nice as well, which I appreciate, but the skill level of making the rolled ice cream is far below what I typically experience in authentic rolled ice cream shops ( Chinatown in Philly) or see on social media. The ingredients were not chopped/mixed fastly or fully. The icecream rolls turned out to be several thick pieces instead of soft, multiple-layered rolls.
