I tried to sell some Pokemon stuff and called ahead of time to tell the person who work there what I had. She was very short on the phone and told me just to come down there that they have to look at it. I went down there and and she told me that she wasnt interested in those items much for the same ones I explained on the phone and I had. This was a wasted trip and a waste of my time and . The place is downtown Columbus r in the convention center. It is a very hard place to find a place to park. You eventually have to pay for parking so I lost there also. I did notice that the place was very neat and organized and had a good selection very popular items. It was bright and appealing and shopping is fun.. The girl I spoke to their was very prim and proper. No smiles there. Im sure she thought I was a lower class citizen because I was trying to sell something. If I looked like a wealthy patron she would have been all smiles,.
Went to Downtown Columbus, stayed in a hotel. Pined for the SciFi and gaming conventions I could not attend... and here we are... Very nice comics and gaming store. But for ME? It was a great dealers room too!
I stop in every time I am at the GCCC, and sometimes they are my one and only reason for making the trip. Doug and staff are friendly and knowledgeable fellow enthusiasts who clearly enjoy their job and take pride in their store. Along with comics and collectibles, they also sell quite a bit of CCG product and singles, as well as hosting tournaments for said games. One of the premier card shops in the city. A must see if you are going to be at the convention center.
This shop is amazing! Very friendly staff and everything there is priced right, also so many gems around the store they have all your collectible needs in one spot! I will definitely go back!
Clean, friendly. Nice place to hang out.
Incredibly friendly staff, great selection of product, and good prices. This is definitely a great place to pick up games and cards as well as play.
Im not gonna lie I really really. Think I have bought resealed packs her but I still like place
This dude gon act like my comics weren’t good enough then he gon act like he looked em up and the send imma have to pass on all of them like his customer service is horrible never going there again terrible people
Great place for young adults to meet each other and have fun.
Excellent for all things comic books and trading cards, and everything in between!
May not be a safe space for LGBTQ Folx based on overheard conversation between patron and employee
Its in the convention center so any kinda comic-con comes then its perfect! Plus bring local is really nice... Highly recommend!
Awesome selection of trading cards and comics and the staff are great!
My Dad owns the store and I love visiting every time.
They had what I wanted, but that was the extent of my satisfaction with this establishment. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone wouldnt even acknowledge my presence when I stepped into the store and had one of the other employees check me out. Was VERY awkward, because he knew he had lied to me over the phone. I would rather use Amazon and pay more than go back to this place.
Great place for comics, cards and more. Great staff, convenient location. Store is neat and well organized.
Friendly staff. The owner is incredible and really knows his stuff.
If other shops dont have a specific comic or are sold out of card booster packs, you can usually find what you need here. I love that the owner takes the time to learn your name and greets you when you return. I hate going downtown, but its worth the trip to come here.
Fantastic people and a great environment for gaming.
The place is awesome! Has great selection of cards. Super friendly and awesome ownership. Best card store in Columbus.
Super helpful and friendly staff and a great selection! Best place for both sealed and single Yu-Gi-Oh cards Ive found in Columbus.
Rude on the phone, wouldnt let me finish what i was saying, kept interrupting me about my cards with a snobby voice and sarcasm. 2 thumbs down
Great store. if your child wants to play yugioh cards, this is a great place.
Best comic book shop in the Midwest for collectors. They always have a good selection of older Silver Age and collectibles that moves quickly, keep checking back. Also a huge collection of new comics a fair pricing.
Best shop in Columbus!
Very nice and wide selection of trading and playing cards. Stopped by while traveling and was very pleased!
An absolutely great experience. Im from out of town and they happily helped me navigate the downtown area and find a place to park, which was good because I was lost and had no idea how I was supposed to get into the Convention center. Once I made it they were very professional and answered all my questions and didnt hesitate to wait on me as I picked out what I was there to buy. Store itself has a large variety of comics and cards, and specifically has one the best collections Ive ever seen of singles for sale for various card games. I was able to round out my collection all in one stop. I highly recommend this store!
Good place and nice staff
Love this store. If you need excellent deals on card games and comics, Heroes and Games is the place.
The staff was helpful and kind. They had a pretty good stock of the card games they sold in packs and singles. They also are often pretty busy with people enjoying the games they sell. Overall the atmosphere was wonderful and I definitely will be returning.
Its a cool little gaming/comic shop. I stopped in and browsed for a few minutes while staying at the hotel next door and I liked it. I wish I had more time to look through their boxes, but unfortunately I didnt have but a few minutes. Next time in in town Ill definitely make time to browse more and maybe get in a game or two.
I love heroes, they always have a great selection especially when I hadnt been back for a while
Great Place the Owner is a good guy!
Great customer service! Every time I come home I visit to play/shop at Heroes and Games and I am never dissatisfied. Doug always manages to reach out and make you feel welcome. Affordable prices, weekly tournaments and just a fun and competitive atmosphere. 10/10 .
Sold a good amount of stuff today that came out of my late uncle garys hording collection of random things, most things were in the age range of late 1950s-mid/late 1970s, almost nothing was in PERFECT condition but instead of being laughed out of the store like I would have been at a buy-backs or similar type stores, Doug was extremely knowledgeable an quite fair on buying the lot wether he wanted to buy a particular item or not, I appreciate doing business with u guys again, cheers to success and staying safe -Billy C.
Neat little comic book store right in the convention center. Looked like a good selection with plenty of bargains available. Stopped in because WotC had it listed as a D&D dealer - didnt see any rulebooks or supplements, but found a good deal on some new dice and card protectors. Definitely worth a stop, if youre in the area.
Just like Wolverine....they are the best at what they do!!!
Staff and comics there never disappoint!! Love picking up my issues and taking to the staff about upcoming events!
This Comic book Store is the best In Ohio by far Comic Books, Card games, you name it. There is a little something for anyone who walks in. And the customer service is by far the best I have ever experienced. I love me some Heroes and Gamers
The owners are personable and really care about what theyre selling and what you need! I got into playing cards instead of just collecting because of the atmosphere they provide. 100% would recommend to everyone!
Awesome store. They have a great selection of card games, comics, figures, and accessories. Staff is super friendly and helpful, as well as the other customers!
Its a nice little shop with a good selection for the size they are, I dont care for comics but I do care about Magic the Gathering and other games. Prices are a bit on the high side, still not unreasonable though, but thats expected for a place in the convention center. They sell some Japanese sweets there too, but Id recommend youd go to one of Columbus many Asian grocery stores instead if you want that kind of thing.
Great atmosphere, selection of comic books, figurines, trading card games and worldly snacks! The owners are the friendliest people youll ever meet. H&G is an awesome place to visit whether you live in Columbus or youre just visiting.
Getting there was confusing. They are in the convention center. The person that bought my card was great at math and was very honest about what my cards were worth. I also bought some packs for an inexpensive price. They have basic Yu-Gi-Oh singles for 25 cents. Great place!
As far as I know, its the only place in Columbus that sells yugioh singles, packs, and sleeves (in different colors). I think their prices are fair and the staff is friendly. I hope to get the chance to go to tournaments they have. Why 4 stars you might ask? Parking and location. Personally not a fan of downtown.
Nicest people working here with awesome selection. Highly recommended! Support your local shops!
Very friendly place
I had an excellent experience at Heroes and Games. Found what I was looking for and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Awesome comic shop. Doug is the man. Super chill, happy to make recommendations. Would trust him with my first born child.
Best place in the city for comics, trading card games, heroclix and more. I hate to sound like a commercial but I love this place. The picture doesnt do it justice, and next time I am there I will take some good ones. The owner Doug and his Associate Jay are some of the kindest laid back down to earth people you will meet. They hold tournaments, sponsor events, and keep you updated on what is coming out. They are one of Columbuss best kept secrets. If you know someone who is into comics, anime, and sci-fi then this is the place.
Always friendly staff, go out of their way to make you feel at home. Always a great atmosphere. -Jessica S, weekly tuesday attendee 😊
I called ahead about selling some cards and they said they were interested. I drove in, about an hour drive one way, and after about 10 minutes sorting through my multiple decks they decided they wernt interested in a single card. This is also after I had to pay for parking garage parking. They DID however have a huge comic book selection. So if thats what youre after youll be happy.
Love heros and games! Long drive for me since I live an hour away but the drive is worth it! Great atmosphere and a real fun place to hang! Lot of comic books and other stuff to look at! Come to hero and games!!
Good collection of comics, and other cool collectables (Some really random cool stuff will pop up from time to time). I have them pull all my favorites so that I have no issues with them being sold out when I get there.Staff is friendly and loves to talk comics.
Really cool comic store. They have anything you could want. Owners are very personable.
Great
Great place and great people in Columbus. Come check it out, play cards, read some comics, or just enjoy the atmosphere. -AnthonyB
I go there weekly! They are the only store I know that bags and boards all of their comics (especially the new releases!) without charging extra. They also have a good selection of retro video and board games.
Really great environment, great staff, great prices, all around perfect place!
I came here on a business trip and was attending a convention next door. I was bored out of my mind as I am a server engineer for a company that is not in the IT business. I went to the food court for a decent lunch and was greeted by a choir of angles as I rounded the corner. Before me was a comic book shop standing as an oasis of hope in a time of famine. I went about my business and when I bypassed the stacks to look through the graphic novels, one of the employees asked if I needed any help. I explained why I was here and said I had wanted to have a graphic novel to read on the way home as I was having battery problems with my phone. One of the employees asked me a few questions about comics I liked and pointed me to Old Man Logan. That kept me going through the flight to ATL. Excellent choice.
Nice little comic bookstore. Do give a visit
Hello my name is Kimi Mcclelland and I am miss doctor who 2019. I gave this place five stars because if your a total geek like I am this is the place for you to go. Why wait for comic con when you can go here anytime you want to and then also go to comic con when it comes to Columbus. The guy or staff who works here is so friendly and helpful to there customers. I do live 45 minutes from here but when I get the chance I can sit here and sort though my Pokémon cards and look though there’s for hours. They do not judge you for you like have been in the past. They do have gaming and it’s a total fun place to hang out, meet new people, and be that geek you are meant to be. I first discovered this store when I was 16 years old the year I first became a geek and I look forward to any opportunity that I can come in an look around and be a total geek. I love this place so much. I do highly recommend it.
Brilliant Store.... Friendly Staff..... Relaxed atmosphere
Nice people great deals and they also buy cards and let you play there absolutely love it. Great service the workers are awesome and kind!
Incredible location (in the convention center) and knowledgeable staff made for a great visit here. Nice place to pick up a comic or settle in for a card game.
Friendly staff, good prices, and a surprisingly wide variety of products.
Great place. Owner is nice guy and also very informative
Great place. Something for everyone.
Extremely rude staff. Went it Sunday during Ohyacon 2015. There werent that busy but insisted on being short with me when asking a question. And then proceeded to make fun of my costume as I was walking away after making a purchase for me and my wife. Not the type of people who should be running a comic book store.
Feels like family. Great staff. Store has everything you need and if they dont have it theyll get it for you.
I used to give the store 5 stars, but the owner has become money hungry with tcg games. Hes selling product way above MSRP, at scalper prices for singles and sealed product. He charges 7 to 10 to play and doesnt have participation, credit return or tournament packs to give out when you play there. Ownership used to be cool, but lost his morales due to Covid i think. Wont be going back.
It is a nice shop for comics and card games such as Magic the Gathering or Dragon Ball Super.
A great place to purchase sealed product and singles and the best place in Columbus to play competetive card games. Yu-Gi-Oh is at 630pm on Fridays, 1030am and 230pm on Saturdays
Super nice store owner and a great little escape.
Great staff. Great product. Overall a cool place.
Great place for games, location is convenient, too.
Being there in person almost felt like the comic book store from the big bang theory. For my first time there Id definatly suggest comic book lovers go here before anywhere else (huge selection). Quiet, peaceful, and definatly somewhere id expect everywhere else to be like. If ive ever had ANY expectations on what a comic book store SHOULD be like they definatly met and exceeded them.
Its a fun place to play card games and get comics.
Excellent shop with reasonable prices and knowledgeable staff. Varied selections of all kinds of comics and memorabilia.
Great selection of pokemon, magic, and dragon ball z cards here. Plus lots of comics!
Great store! Clean, organized, and very customer oriented.
Great place to play card games and purchase comic books!
Love the cold ramune, and the staff is friendly
They carry many of my memories from the early 90s in the form of comics and originally packaged action figures. Plus so much more.
Always reliable for magic cards, snacks, and drinks during cons.
Kind of small but has a nice selection. Usually go for pops and they have something I want.
Not impressed with this place, especially with the owner talking smack about other businesses (including mountain empire). Wont go back...
I have been here before and i love the store but they are not always open according to the sheet on the door they are open at 10 but no sign yet of anyone.
Good place to find anything u need to support your hobby like Pokemon, magic,d&d, yugioh
Very friendly people. Always have a great experience.
Mostly comic books, not much gaming at all. Cute store.
Great shop for DBS. Wide selection of books too.
Good selection of comic books, but the variety of board games is very limited.
Very friendly staff and great selection.
Fun little place to go but sba
Really convenient and great deals.
Reviews here seem mixed, but Ill share my experience. We went in yesterday evening to check if they had any heroclix. We looked around and they had a pretty good selection of boardgames, a massive selection of comics, and a small wall of heroclix. No complaints. The two men working didnt aknowledge us when we walked in, which kind of threw us for a loop. They were talking about soccer and drinking I believe. We got to the heroclix area and its behind a small glass counter with some of the more expensive, rare heroclix in the counter itself. Looked at those ones for a minute, then wanted to look at the ones we could actually afford and justify buying. Behind this counter was just a shelf of 10-20 different packs of heroclix. There was also some clutter so it didnt seem like a sales station or a restricted area. Naturally, we were looking at them. Still no aknowledgement from the staff. Kind of felt awkward like we werent welcomed. Until finally, one guy aknowledges us with a uh guys, whatcha doing back there?. I replied we were looking at the heroclix to which he tells us were not allowed back there.... Ok. It made me and my friend very uncomfortable. We were both clearly in plain site just looking at the characters. Now if there were rules clearly stated not to pass a line or a worker was standing there actually doing his job and helping us see these things, I would understand. But their conversation was more important than helping what would have been paying customers. Personally I dont plan on stopping here again. Big Fun on High has comic books and the staff is much better, and the Soldiery and the Guard Tower are both much better in terms of boardgame and tabletop collections. Plus, both establishments seem to aknowledge their guests.
Customer service exceptional
Great store with amazing people and fun times.
