This is one of the cutest ideas ever. I took my dad and grandmother here when they came to visit me from Tennessee. Im planning on taking my husband here too. Its such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.You do have to come back after about 30-60 minutes since your candles need to cool so thats important to know beforehand.We had reservations but if you go during a slow time of day I believe youd be able to just walk in.They explain everything very well when you first walk in which leaves little room for confusion so if its your first time, dont worry!

This place was AMAZING. I love fragrances & wanted to try my hand at making something myself. Located in the Short North, it was close to food, shopping, and all sorts of amenities. Parking was cheap-- 3 hours for $5. I made a reservation online & went in-- the place doesnt smell overpowering, which is a huge win for me. I was worried everything would start smelling muddled. I knew exactly what I wanted, so i moved through the note options pretty quickly.I couldnt decide on just one blend, so I bought 4 fragrance sprays.The experience was a blast, my fragrances smell AMAZING, and it was a wonderful little stop on a day trip. Definitely cant wait to go back!!

Wow what a great experience curating selecting and mixing your own candies! We select a variety of scents and smells then pick the jar and wick and the staff helps combine the scents. We poured our own scent oils then mixed it with the melted wax. Theres an abundant selection of scents. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely visit for this experience.

Some family members and I went to The Candle Lab and had a blast! Loved every minute of it. We will definitely be going back! The place was clean and professional. The staff was nice, wonderful and knowledgeable. I recommended this experience at least once!

Went to their Grand Opening and had a great time! Nice group of people and decently priced candle products. They also have a really nice event room for rent. Its a nice place for a date night outing.

Never been even though I live minutes from it walking. Smells amazing inside. Friendly staff and will definitely be back to make my own candle. Worth stopping in for.

So the premise is very cool. You make your own candle. The service was really great. The girl who helped us was very nice and patient giving us all the details on how you make it. I would have given it a 5 star review but I fill thats its not really a make your own candle shop. You pick the scents and pour them on the wax. Thats the end of the experience. Very cool concept though.

I had a great time making a candle from a few different scents and it smells amazing! Such a fun experience or great to give as a gift.

My girlfriend and I came in for our third year anniversary to pour our own candles. we we’re greeted very nicely by a certain woman, given instructions then left to our own devices. we both walked around smelling candles, assuming they had been sanitized. when we were done we sat at the bar and our stylist right off the bat was very rushed. she barely gave us instructions, and most of the time was away from the bar. a large group of girls came in, and started walking around the smell candles. the workers had not taken the time to at least sanitize the candles in between groups. the worker helping my girlfriend and i was rude about my scent choices, and was very rushed. she didn’t try to work with me or give me helpful advice. the website said the candle making process would take about 30 minutes but ours took about 5. we started to mix the scent oils and i got some of my hand, a sink was not offered. later on in the day my hands started to get itchy and swollen. after inspecting our candles, the stickers didn’t stick and the fabric they put in the bag had put hairs all over the soft wax. my candle in particular has started to separate from the candle jar.overall, it was not work the $47 i paid for a plain candle and our stylist ruined our experience.

A fun time- good unique option to enjoy time with friends. Staff was friendly and helpful. I do not feel it’s overpriced. Around $21 for about an hour of enjoyment and candle or product to take away- reasonable to me ;)

Always a pleasant experience. They have a wonderful selection of scents to choose from. I have been here three or four times now and always come out with a new, unique candle scent.

My wife and I are candle addicts, so naturally we had so much fun. The staff was super patient, mainly because we smelled every single candle, as well as genuine in wanting to help build the right candle. Just for you casual candle buyers this is gonna be about $50-$80 for 2 candle.

Where do I even begin?! I was hosting a team building for my job and this team was amazing! From start Eric was very helpful over the phone while trying to get reserved etc and when we got there he was very informative, patient and helpful reexplaining things as people walked in. Kelly was such a joy to work with while she helped my team as well with preparations. Jonathon was AMAZING!! I love his personality !! He was perfect for our group! His knowledge about the scents and suggesting the creations we had and even complimenting them! My mom who also went he is a bit slower and takes a bit to select and choose things Jonathon was so patient with her and helping her with all her questions and listening to her llllooonnnggg stories lol .But the main thing I want to thank the team for is they all participated in our activities! I love this place and will definitely be back! I even told my brother to my brother he better take his girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day for date night! Thanks again for such Ana amazing experience and I love my candle!!

Honestly at first I thought it was kinda silly from the website description. But hands down this was an amazing place, from friendly staff, well laid out products, and scents in various forms that you wont find in some catalogs from some big name candle company. So if you have the time and love for candles, tarts, scents and more COME HERE!!! The store front (like most others) is bored up so you will need to look abit to find it but otherwise very easy to get too

I’m a dude who isn’t really into candles but came anyway, had a blast, and am pleasantly surprised with how the candles turned out. Perfect spot for a date or to take friends from out of town (or to treat yo self). The staff is there to help make sure you’re candle mixture turns out just right.

The experience of smelling the scents and making the candle was a blast. I am giving 3 starts because I am very unpleased with how my candle burns. It burns very uneven and I will have a lot of wax left over.

My girlfriend and I took my wife for her birthday. They really enjoyed themselves. Both are candle women. I made a bath salt since candles aren’t my thing. The sales representative was friendly and took his time with us. My wife was distracted with work but he made sure she still enjoyed herself. He went over sale price and my wife got to make a 2nd candle free. It really made her birthday even better. I recommend for date night, birthdays and sayings sorry.

Really fun to do with friends and family! Many many interesting smells, and the jars are quite nice. The workers are very helpful and educated with their work. Lots of options to make, including bath sugar, salt, lotion, and of course candles! A great experience and it’s in a very convenient area, around many restaurants and shops! Recommend going!

I stopped in with my daughters to make candles for my oldest daughter s birthday. The girl that works there was very helpful. After my daughters picked which scents they liked she told them which scents worked well together. It was an overall pleasant experience. We will definitely be back and will suggest Candle Lab to our friends for sure.

Very much enjoyed a spontaneous date with the girlfriend here. We were in the area and saw the store and stopped in. Wonderful staff and the experience itself was very fun. Candles were priced pretty competitively.I do wish they offered 3 wick candles

My partner and I visited The Candle Lab in Short North - we were helped by an amazing person named John. The quality of service, kindness, and enthusiasm was unlike any I have ever experienced. John is amazing. If I am ever back in the Columbus area, I will be back to buy another candle - all thanks to John.

A must stop place. Great friendly staff. So much fun on a date with my wife, and another visit with the kids as well. We had a great time.

Our group tour enjoyed this stop! It was a unique stop and even the men enjoyed being able to choose their own scents as they created and poured their candles. Candle Lab delivered our candles to our local hotel. Good stop for groups!

While spending a weekend in Columbus for a bachelorette party, I was able to go to The Candle Lab with the girls. It was so much fun! We had a great time with all of the choices, being able to choose the scents we liked best, being able to personalize the graphic on the front and actually being able to help in the process. I wish they had more locations so I could take my friends from Iowa. I would highly recommend stopping if youre in the area.

I love The Candle Lab. A great idea for a date, creating candles and then roaming the Short North or grabbing lunch while you wait for them to be ready is a fantastic way to spend a few hours. Many scents to pick from, and the friendly staff is great at helping to pick scents that complement each other well for a candle (even for difficult customers like me who enjoy a weird set of scents that barely work together). Would recommend Candle Lab to anyone.

I love this little spot. Ive been there on multiple occasions with positive experiences. Its a unique place. Specifically at the short north location, I had an issue with a gift card. The manager went above and beyond to take care of us and made sure we could use the card still. I appreciate the attention to customers here and I highly recommend visiting the candle lab!

This is such a cool place. My friend took me here for my birthday. I enjoyed creating my own candle and it turned out great. They were really great about me changing the scents that I wanted mid-way. Definitely would recommend as a time to spend with friends, family, dates, and to give as a gift. You can even buy pre-made candles as well.

Truly a bountiful array of varying aromas that will take your sense of smell to new heights. To my knowledge every selection is the same price, around $14. I personally think that its a little overpriced for candles, but it is up to the individual to decide its worth.

Its a cool little shop with tons of candles. Some are your standard scents, and some are very unique. I personally stick to the normal scents, but they smell amazing and last a long time. Ive never made a candle there before, but Ive heard its a great experience. It sure beats just going to CVS and buying a candle!

Such wonderful customer service! The workers at candle lab are very sweet and wonderful. We came here as a baclorette party and they were able to accommodate ten of us and had us in and out within an hour! Thank you guys again for all of your help you are the best!!

At the Short North store, the ladies were very polite, friendly, and patient with my children and I. I was a little concerned because after we went, I read reviews that some candles didnt have a scent when they were lit. Happy to say that isnt our problem. One tin smelled throughout out kitchen and family room, which is a good size. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I went here on 11/19 for our 11th wedding Anniversary. The two staff members immediately made us feel at ease with a process we had never done before. Just pick what you like and let us figure out how to mix them was a small statement that made a huge difference. We had a great time smelling all of the different scents, and picking out what we liked best. It can be overwhelming with the amount of choices, but once you get up to the counter and start talking to the workers they will help you narrow down something, and suggest different combinations of scents that you wouldnt have thought of on your own. They said For us, its like picking out an outfit for you, just pick what you like and well make it work and they totally did. The scents we came up with were amazing, and the whole experience was fun and exciting.Thanks Candle Lab for making our lunch time anniversary plans a huge success!

My favorite store to go to! Went on Saturday (1/19/19) and had a great experience. I am already planning my next visit! I’ve been to the candle lab around 6 times, the location downtown is my favorite!

These candles carry a great, long-lasting scent throughout your living space. I love their mahogany, hops, shaving cream, jasmine, dads den, pipe tobacco, and so many others. I love that I can make my own purfume scents there, too.

Ive been here several times. Its a fun place to bring friends and family who visit from out of town. Essential you choose up to three scents from a very wide variety of available fragrances. The selection process takes about 30-40 minutes then. But you have to wait for the candle to set. I usually leave, get lunch in the Short North then return to pick up my candle.The last two times I have been there I felt rushed. The place was really busy for one of the visits. However, it was pretty quiet when I went yesterday but still almost could not enjoy the experience because we felt hurried.

I went here because someone told me I would love it, I didnt. There were supposed to be over 150 scents but i dont think there were even 100, they had high prices, and the scents were awful, I mean the coffee scented candle didnt even smell like coffee.
