They work on my 1999 S80 for anything I need. I will say MAG had my car so screwed up I think all they wanted to do is sell me a new car.. European Autoworks owner and staff has a vast knowledge of these cars. In my opinion they are the best place in Columbus to fix your Volvo.

The price and minor vehicle maintenance (i.e. filter, oil change, top fluids) are the only two reasons to visit this mechanic. They are not not well versed to perform major mechanical work. Please do the research when looking for a reliable service center to do major work on your Volvo. Good luck.

My buddy has been to this shop twice for maintenance and repairs on his 2002 Volvo V70 Cross Country. The staff is very friendly, and they are clearly very knowledgeable about Volvos. Our first experience with European Auto Works was right after my buddy bought his car. It was due for an oil change and coolant flush, and we asked if the technician could look over the car to see if there were any other problems, especially for the steering and front suspension as they were acting up.A few hours later, we got a call that the oil change and coolant flush were completed. Upon inspection, the technician found that the right front ball joint was just about to fall out. I looked into the cars history and found that the ball joint was replaced at a Volvo dealer a year earlier. I was furious that the technician at the dealership did not torque the part to the correct specification, especially on a component as critical as the ball joint. When I told the folks at European Auto Works about this, instead of bashing the dealership and convincing us to never go there again, they simply said, It happens to the best of us.This type of honesty and respect is exactly what I look for when searching for a reputable repair shop. It makes me wish that I had a Volvo of my own just so I could have them service my car.My only complaint is that they do not install parts provided by the customer, but I completely understand this policy, especially if the provided parts are used or cheap aftermarket.Besides, many of their prices are cheaper than at a dealership.

Im a 10+ year customer at European Auto Works because I appreciate their consistently reliable work, completed timely and priced fairly. They work exclusively on Volvo cars and Id encourage any central-Ohio Volvo owner to get to know EAW.

The guys at this shop are the most experienced Volvo mechanics in the city. They know the ins and outs of anything you could possibly bring in, and they treat you with respect, both in the way they learn about the issue your car has, and the pricing of their work (as opposed to dealerships). Though I try to work on my car as much as I can, this is the place I take it if I want the job done to perfection, and the shop I refer all my volvo-owning friends and colleagues to.

I am am a mechanical engineer and am VERY picky about who services my car. I have been using EAW for all of my Volvos for the past 15+ years. They are courteous, easy to work with, and the pricing is very competitive. They always discuss issues with me before starting a repair. YMMV but I will trust no one else with my Volvos.

THIS PLACE IS SCAM .... DONT GO THEREI spoke over the phone with someone over the phone and he acted like he doesnt understand me. I went to the shop and they gave me a high estimate after i paid for $100 plus a fee to diagnose the issue.I tried to discus with them but they made me feel like i dont know/understand anything about the car.i asked them to fix and after a month the issue came back. I called them since they claim a 1 year warranty on all their work, they said they would charge me another $100 plus to look into it.

Went here for my first time as I am new to the area and I wanted quality mechanics without dealership prices. After I saw the reviews online, I checked them out and they are honest, knowledgeable mechanics that were able to do the work I asked (overdue trans fluid change and software update) for under the price quoted. They explain everything on your bill, and I will go there again for many major maintenance I cannot do myself. They have the VIDA software, a MUST for transmission work. This place is a must-know for Volvo owners in Columbus.

The type of repair shop you dream of. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, they are excellent about telling you what needs to be done and what doesnt. I passed my XC90 on to my son and theyve done a fantastic job of helping us balance repair cost over the past 2 years. I really cant say enough about them.

Ive been here twice for my Volvo S40-- once for water leak issues, once for an oil change and check engine light. The customer service is always friendly and professional, the mechanics are very patient and communicative. Especially as someone who knows little about cars, this has made both my experiences really positive and comfortable! The first time I didnt have an appointment and dropped my car off. I got a call not two hours later explaining why the water leak was happening and what it would take to fix it. The leaking had occurred before and had been fixed (only temporarily it seems) at a different shop. Seeing this, the mechanic came up with an alternate solution to the usual fix and I havent had any problems since. The second time I called ahead and had my car back by close of business. Once again, they called me in under 2 hours with a diagnosis, they walked me through it and explained what did/did not need fixing and why!I would recommend them to anyone with a Volvo!

My 02 S80 was suffering a major power steering leak. European Auto Works was able to quickly diagnose the problem, and even though they didnt have the required part on hand to fix the issue, they were able to have it on hand the next day. The problem was fixed quickly and at a very fair price. The staff is very knowledgeable, personable and courteous, something you dont see too much of when it comes to auto shops!

I am a complete novice when it comes to auto mechanics, but I want to learn so I bought a 1986 240 sedan in pretty good shape. The problem is I dont know where to begin. What I need is a complete list of repairs, help prioritizing them and useful advice. I called EAW after reading some reviews. Ted, who answered the phone, was not only open to what I had to say he was even excited to hear that I wanted to learn. For $98 he offered to go through the entire car top to bottom including reviewing the old service records with me and put together my list. I havent been in there yet, but if first impressions have any meaning I cant wait for a long relationship with EAW!After my appointment Im sad to say that they werent all they were cracked up to be. The mechanic missed all kinds of issues with the car. If you need something fixed, itll cost you $98/hour, but they probably do a good job.

I love European Auto Works. When I moved back here in 2010, they gently cared for my 92 240 until a tragic accident left her beyond repair (RIP, Stella). Now, I have an 06 S40, which is okay, but no 240. I honestly bought another Volvo specifically because EAW always makes me feel like I am aware of what is going on, they have fixed things I didnt ask them to and without charge, and have worked with me on other things. They are really spot-on for service, customer service, and repairs in a timely manner. They are always friendly and I never feel taken advantage of, or silly, like I do in most repair shops. I recommend them to anyone who asks, and encourage anyone I know to buy Volvos so they, too, can have the best mechanics in town.

I called here nearly a year ago regarding some tranny work, but the technician was so rude over the phone that I decided to do all the work myself. I called again today regarding minor suspension work, and the first guy that answered knows good customer service in terms of how to speak to a human. The older-sounding technician was once again condescending, saying something about $98 up-front, and I couldnt buy my own parts because I wouldnt bring my own steak to a restaurant. Great example of false analogy, by the way. I buy my own parts and have brought them to 3 different mechanics in Columbus. I usually do my own work because strong online support and diy tutorials are abundant on Volvo cars, but the cold, snowy weather doesnt go well with backyard labor. Volvo parts are usually very expensive as is, and Im not dumb enough to pay for parts that Im not certain are quality as well as a subjective upcharge on top of the price. Lost my business at the gate.

This place came highly recommended however, I felt they took total advance of me as a female consumer. I had my vehicle towed to them ($60.00) and after a few days they contacted me stating they were unable to find anything major wrong with my car except for a bad battery. They stated after clearing all codes and replacing the battery they drove it and nothing. I picked up my vehicle on a Wednesday (paying them $300.00) drove directly home and parked it until the next morning. I got in my vehicle the next morning (8:00 a.m.) drove to work which is approximately 45-50 miles from my home within 10 miles from my job a panel light came on. After working about 10 hours got into my car but nothing happened - it would not turnover. Thank goodness a COTA bus was pulling up and I was able to get home unfortunately not until 9:30 p.m. that evening.I had them pick up the car from my job which they did on that Friday later that afternoon they called now stating my CEM module needed replacing and they could put in a used one at a low cost of $900.00 or a new one for $2000.00I would NOT recommend this place to my worst ENEMY....

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.I had been to 2 shops prior to trying EAW. I was told by both that I needed a new transmission and the quotes ranged from 3500 to 4000. I decided that one more opinion was needed. EAW diagnosed the code from the Check Engine light, said I needed a new PNP switch which they replaced for $313. They also found a serious oil leak (not found by the other locations) and fixed it for $962. For less than $1300 I walked out a very satisfied customer. EAW will be my Volvo guys from now on.
