The people making the ice cream are fantastic and the nitrogen is very cool. I liked the texture and taste of the plain vanilla. But the other flavors are syrups from pumps and the toppings are kind of dry and flavorless Its also really expensive for what you get. Cool idea; I might get the plain vanilla again but other than that its not very tempting.
The guys working today really help drew us in. It was a wreath experience. The chocolate ice cream is not chocolatey by any means. Doesnt even look like chocolate. Its so light in color. The mint was a great green color and no question about it being mint. Its 3 stars only because how do you mess up one of the most popular flavors there is? Other than that I liked it .
James was phenomenal as was the frozen custard and ice cream! I came with my 4 daughters ages 11 months to 15 and he managed to make each of them smile ear to ear even before tasting the delish treat. It was dessert and a show for sure. Thank you James we will all remember our first nitrogen experience!
I usually dont write reviews but I felt compelled after what I witnessed. The what seemed to be manager was closing down with a female worker who looked like she was still in high school. While closing down the manager constantly berated the worker about close down procedures. Saying things like you should know how to do this havent you opened before I dont know how no thats not right just go back and put this away. It was abusive, cruel, and completely uncalled for and unnecessary. You could tell that this was usual procedure because the worker didnt dare say anything in retaliation and the look of defeat on her face. This is truly abhorret example of verbal abuse in the work place. I will no longer support this business.
I tried the banana cream pie bismuth. The banana flavor was very good, but the texture was not. The product looked more like scrambled eggs than ice cream. Very hard and not very creamy. The tiny plastic spades they give you instead of spoons (they have more of a blade shape than a spoon shape) made it difficult to eat the ice cream with the Waffle bowl. I guess Im a more of a fan of the slow churn than the quick nitrogen freeze. Ill be going back to The Meadows in Hickory Ridge.
I was intrigued and excited to see a nitrogen ice cream shop in Columbia Mall, and Sub Zero did not disappoint! Watching your ice cream go from liquid to actual frozen ice cream is a very fun experience. And the ice cream was delicious! All ice creams come in a waffle bowl which is a nice touch. I got magnetic mint and added brownies. So. Good!! Will return... Probably too many times
There’s really nothing special about the ice cream, it’s pretty good, but the only interesting part is the process which, in my opinion, isn’t worth the price.
At first we liked the ice cream until we looked closer and saw the metal transfer from either the bowl or the metal spatula all over our scoop of vanilla. When they make the ice cream they scrape the bowl very hard. You can see the scratch marks all over the inside of the bowls. That metal has to go somewhere and it’s going all over your ice cream. We will not be visiting Sub Zero again unless this oversight in how the ice cream is prepared is fixed.
The ice cream and place look very appealing. Such nice staff. The ice cream quality is not tasty. It tastes like putting 100 pieces of ice cream in your mouth. Suggest that the toppings be put in the ice cream after it is made. Do not like how the chocolate conduction is vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate syrup.
Interesting concept... the result is not good. I can make better ice cream in my freezer.
Extremely poor business practices as owner told our daughter through one of her friends that she would not be hired due to lack of time to complete training despite knowing she was going out of town prior to beginning employment. Given this pathetic management style of not having the decency to speak with her directly, can only imagine how dysfunctional this business is operated.
The ice cream is delicious and the staff are fantastic. I always receive great service!
It was a cool experience to watch and the manager who took my order was very friendly which is why I gave it 3 stars. Overall it was overpriced, solid when I ordered it, and melted quickly. My daughter didnt like hers at all and ended up throwing it away.
The experience is super cool. Especially for my son who is a science geek. The ice cream wasnt bad either! The staff is friendly.
The ice cream tasted great but the process was what gave me and my daughter the most excitement! Awesome❤️❤️
The ice cream as great as always but the guy working was short abd thick and wiped his nose and thought he was going to continue making my ice cream. I told him to go wash hus hands. What he did was like a hippa violation in the medical field. I should have not had to tell him ti go wash his hands
Very nice people first time worker did good come here
The lady working their at the time completely ignored my kids and I, having stood in front waiting for her to complete an order, and it was not at all busy. Without even acknowledging us, she then helps another customer who came after us but walked directly to the register. I gestured to her we were next. She gave me a dumb look. We spent our money elsewhere.
One of the men working there was really friendly but other than that the customer service was subpar and the ice cream was average. They used artificial flavoring. My son thought it cool to see nitrogen being used to make ice cream but still wasnt worth the money.
Great flavors great texture awesome experience fun to watch the people behind the counter are very excited to do what they do.
Really fantastic italian ice, also really good ice cream too.
This is right across from the carousel at the Columbia Mall. The ice cream tasted great. It is hard to scoop out, but it melts in your mouth. First you choose the size of the ice cream then, the type of milk, flavor, mix-ins and whipped cream. I ordered a small cone, cream, vanilla, Twix, Nutella and whipped cream. Its more expensive than your typical ice cream parlor, but remember that theyre using nitro, so they have to make profit somehow I guess. We paid about $14 bucks for 2 small ice creams. It is a once a month kind of thing.
Solid ice cream but not excellent. Cool process and atmosphere though!
It was pretty cool watching them make the ice cream but ultimately, the ice cream was terrible.
First time iv had it. yummm
A novelty ice cream shop. Over priced, but the ice cream is fine. Its worth it to try once.
Expensive, fun, yummy ice cream. I guess I am just cheap.
