I love that theyve gotten a little creative with their menu. The place was packed which is also a good sign of the quality of product. Priced similarly to the big chains, but definitely a lot better care and attention given.

Staff is friendly, prices are good for a coffee house. My wait time was a bit long, but I noticed they were training so Im sure it was only due to that. The coffee was delicious, I was dining in with a friend and by the time I got to the bottom of my cup, I wanted another one. Definitely order a large if youre not planning on sitting down. The seating is different everywhere you choose to sit, so theres plenty of options to try out if you plan to be a frequent flyer. It can be a busy place so probably not best to work on schoolwork if youre someone who cant focus.

Came in right before close to get a london fog as I dont do coffee anymore. The service was still focused, fast, and friendly. I asked her if she could make one and she was confident. The london fog was outstanding! I have had a few from an array of places but this so far is in my top two! The menu offered many different options for those who seek out more than coffee. Their cheesecakes were put up but I would have loved to try a slice. Pastry options were varied but I was seeking out a cream based sweet treat at that time but its late and dont expect too many places that offer baked goods to have anything like that on hand later in their work day. Love the late hours and the atmosphere of the place even though I wasnt there long. It was cozy and inviting. The only downside to this place is that it is not local to me! Other than that, I am very thankful to have stumbled upon this gem.

It was an afternoon coffee and warmed white chocolate cookie I enjoyed inside The Grind. A pleasant atmosphere with an upscale feel to it all. Students appeared all around the interior. I was likely the oldest customer in the store and enjoyed a quiet table near the entrance. Clean and customer friendly. The coffee was so hot that I had to ask for a scoop of ice to cool it down! All in all a nice find on a cold chilly afternoon.

Great environment for studying/working solo or chatting with a friend over an awesome cup of coffee. There are so many beverage options to choose, from coffees to teas to smoothies. The staff is super friendly and helpful; this coffee shop is a very welcoming spot!

With the events of last year my roommate and I have not been out of the house very much but now that things are easing up one of the first places we decided to visit was the Grind. Even though local restrictions have been lifted the Barista working was still wearing a mask and the store looked extremely clean. The presentation in the cases and the sign on the counters show that cleanliness is a priority and I appreciated that. The associate made the drinks exactly as we wanted and it was overall a wonderful experience. I look forward to walking back down there again soon. Not a complaint but something to think about would be adding in a way for people who are walking their dogs to order from the door. Plenty of times I’m walking my dog around the block and would love to stop in for a cup of coffee on the walk but I don’t know what to do with my dog while I’m there. ps. Love the upgraded patio!

Love hanging out here. If youre not a fan of being around young people, this is not the place for you. Although theyre usually just studying/doing school work. I always get the mocha latte. Coffees good! 👌

This is a really good coffee shop. They have good food options and their coffee is satisfactory. But they never have anything made. The past 5 times Ive went there, they havent had any paninis. 2 of the times was right around 11 oclock. Thats the beginning of lunch and its been really frustrating when I literally go there just for the paninis and coffee. So, though I recommend their services, they may not have what youre looking for when youre looking for it.

My go to for coffee! I have tried several different roasts and they are all amazing! I even buy their beans to brew at home! I always have 2-3 bags in my freezer at all times. Plus, the baristas have wonderful customer service and very knowledgeable of all products.

I absolutely love the grind! It’s become my favorite go to place. Always greet me with a smile and seem happy to be at work! Always get my order correct and if for some reason they do not it’s once in a blue moon. They always fix it and make sure they apologize for the mistake! Definitely a welcoming environment and the best coffee around!😊

I liked the coffee here. The menu is fairly standard of most coffee shops. The lobby is nice and has free Wifi. Its a comfortable place to be on a laptop or a mobile device to work homework, writing, online work, or anything you need a quiet place and coffee for a while.

The shop appeared to be slow and there was no one using the drive thru, so we drove up and ordered two large lightest roast brewed coffee available. Were told that was the vanilla nut at which point we said that we only wanted unflavored brewed coffee. Were then told that it was unflavored, only the aroma was vanilla and we said wed try it. Paid for $5.60 coffee with a $20 and told the server to keep a dollar and the coins as a tip. She gave us $10 back, which we thought wasnt a big deal because they had been helpful and really fast and sometimes its hard to understand what people are saying through a mask. It was the nastiest dark roast vanilla hazelnut coffee Ive ever tasted. We paid $10 for two coffees that we dumped. The only reason this isnt one star is that the service was fast, if not accurate.

This is a great coffee shop, that offers a variety of beverages and snacks. The shop is always clean and the employees are very nice and go above and beyond to make sure you get exactly what you wanted. Additionally the atmosphere is very welcoming so whether you are on a coffee date or studying for a final you will comfortable here.

There coffee grinders are good but I prefer it to be thicker, seems more liquid type than blended and arent sweet enough so I have to always ask it to be sweeter in which they charge extra when they shouldnt but overall its good

I love The Grind! Its usually quiet enough to work, and the seating is super comfortable! They serve some of the best coffee in town. I enjoy coming in and spending some time reading or writing or just relaxing.

Really mellow place. I totally liked the vibe and the staff. The coffee was perfectly made and really good for the price. But I do NOT recommend their bagle sandwich. Its just egg and cheese, no condiments or meat to help the dryness. Still a great place though 10/10 would recommend.

Good parking and easy to get to if youre on the south side of town. Quick and friendly service. House blend has enough caffeine to put me in a good mood without making me jittery. Cinnamon rolls are pretty good. Its always been quiet, perfect place to be around people without having to interact with them.

We had around 15 people attend yesterday at your venue (South location) and wanted to say that the staff was great, the place was clean, the coffee was great, and that we appreciate you having us! The patio was a great option and the group had a blast. We cant wait to be back!The only improvement Id love to see is a meat option for the bagel breakfast items. Even if its the shelf-stable bacon.

I love the variety of seating, makes this place good to meet up with friends, read a book, or study for school. It does tend to fill up around finals week a lot, but their drop coffee is good and so are their espresso drinks! They also have their own app for reward points you can cash in for free drinks, bag of beans, etc.

Hidden gem on the south side of Columbia! Awesome coffee, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. As I sat drinking my coffee, I noticed multiple tables of people just enjoying the space and having conversations. Very much so a cozy and welcoming place to spend a few hours.

I hesitate to review this place because then more people will come but, I love the grind!The owner takes awesome care of all of his customers and goes out of his way to get to know a little about almost everyone who walks through his doors.It also helps that the coffee is great :)

Im writing this during my first visit but I will definitely be back. Tons of seating with a mix of couches in with tables and chairs. The menu looks like it has a ton of variety and the coffee is great. This is the perfect place to work or study and theres a small conference room available if you need a good place to meet or practice a presentation.

Not very good. I had a grinder and cookie. Hubby had a mocha. Neither of us could taste any espresso in our drinks. I make these drinks better at home. The cookie had too much salt. Total waste if money.

I love this place! Truly the best coffee shop in town. Willing to make whatever weird things my dad seems to come up with all the time. Printing service is available (only coffee shop in Columbia to offer this!!) for a small fee of 10¢ per page. Overall I would highly recommend this to a student looking to study for a upcoming test, or anyone that is just looking for their coffee fix in a laid back environment with a fantastic atmosphere and of course great coffee!

I used to go to a coffee shop near my undergrad college and loved it. I was worried I wouldnt find one around here that Id like and be able to study at but I love this place. Everything Ive tried has been good and the atmosphere is great to study in!

This is obviously a study hotspot for students, but its also a good place to hang out and chat with friends. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed, and the owner and staff are wonderful. Theres a huge variety of drinks, with everything from a basic dark roast to a raspberry truffle mocha latte, and a good selection of the typical pastries and other coffee shop goodies.

Atmosphere is great and the service is nice and very tolerable of all the high school children that are there before and after school doing homework and what not :-)Its great to know my teen can go there and study and the staff be so tolerable and accommodating.Not to mention there Smoothies are worth a stop for.

As a medical student, Im always looking for the best coffee shops, both for the caffeine and a place to study. The Grind is by far my favorite place in Columbia for coffee - the Aucky is a special drink that is particularly good! If youre more of a traditional coffee fan, the Black and Gold roast beats most home brewed stuff.As far as studying goes, its one of the better places for outlets on the South side, and they have a nice variety of one-person to four-person tables so studying in a group isnt an issue. The WiFi is consistent, and the background music is a nice touch that doesnt intrude on the experience like at other shops.The biggest drawback to The Grind is lack of food - they have 2 paninis and avocado toast, and then a variety of bakery options. Also it can get very crowded at times, which is a good problem to have!
