My son in law brought us some prime filets and some wagyu ribeyes for us to grill for dinner tonight. The waygu was the best steak I’ve had in my 60 years! Just absolutely outstanding. Gotta find a way to have this more often.

They did not have oxtails as I wanted but very clean store; very eager to assist me when I walked in. I will try them for my other meat needs

My experience was beautiful. I have two boys work 12 to 16 hour days Just sometimes need a break from cooking everyday. I heard about it, so I stop by. The food is fresh and amazing ! 😉 My boys loved it. I was happy because I did not have to cook, and dinner is ready in 15 minutes tops. I even ask for help with the difference Cabernet wines he had. I was at peace. It was breath taking. I went around 2 pm. I am a black women, who is in the customer services business for over 25 years. The experience was great to me and everyone was helpful. This is my go to store now. I will be a regular! Thanks for helping a tired mom make dinner! 😍😘 P.S. I also like it because it’s fresh and keep in the refrigerator. I rather pick it up and go. Because of the heat I don’t trust food that has to be in the oven delivered .

Fantastic quality of meat. The prime rib they have each Friday is absolutely stunning! Couple this with the pre-made fresh food and you have yourself a 5 star meal!

I recently moved to South Carolina. Ive been looking for a butcher shop everywhere Ive lived and havent been able to find one that meets my needs. From the moment I walked in to the New York Butcher Shoppe, I could smell the amazing smoke flavor in the air. I was immediately greeted by one of the workers behind the counter which instantly gave me a welcomed feeling. As I glanced around the shoppe I noticed a variety of precooked foods, a wall of wine bottles displayed in a wooden case under ambient lighting and the showcase of meats, both cooked and uncooked. The selection of cuts was impressive and I fully intend to buy some when I get moved into my house. I spoke to Matt, one of the gentlemen behind the counter, and he answered all my questions about the establishment and what they had to offer. I was very satisfied with the customer service and friendliness of the staff. I came back later in the evening to buy dinner to take home for my family and after warming it up and eating, we quickly came to the agreement that the food had exceeded our expectations. The wings were larger than any wings we had ever eaten. Almost like mini chicken legs. Although a bit over seasoned, it wasnt unpleasant in the least bit. They were still juicy despite being precooked and refrigerated. There was a hint of spiciness to the flavor in the rub complemented with the sweetness that is bbq. We also bought a rack of their house smoked ribs which, to my satisfaction, were not overcooked and mushy like most restaurants Ive gone to. Bite tender and perfectly seasoned, I felt comfortable paying the price. We also tried the mashed potatoes, which werent disappointing but nothing special. Topping them with diced ham was a nice touch, though. The last thing we ordered was the lobster mac and cheese and it was my first time trying this dish anywhere. The tray was heavily packed with mac and cheese. I definitely got my moneys worth on that. The cheese was creamy and the shredded lobster was subtle but delicious. My family of 4 couldnt finish the entire rack of ribs, 3 lbs of wings, and the 2 sides. There will be some left over for lunch tomorrow. I will definitely be returning as a regular.

Was away from home for the fourth due to work so I spent all week thinking about a steak. I’m really happy I found this shop. The selection and service was excellent and I was happy to see Beaufort shrimp. I’ll be back soon.

Great food! So much to choose from. Fresh daily. They make most of what is there, including ribs daily. There are pastas, soups, great sandwiches 10 cent Cokes, and a lot more. What a great place!

During a recent illness, Dear Friends brought my visiting daughter and me a lovely and delicious meal from your Shop. Now I can play it forward for others by finally having a place as good as home cooked or better to save time while providing fine dining!! Glad you’re here!! Definitely a 5!!

Great service

I usually get my steaks from a secret farm outside of Columbia. I usually don’t buy from stores and figured I’d check this place out on a whim since I smoke steaks for friends on Saturdays and needed a couple extra steaks.I got 16 oz of CAB NY strip. Immediately cut in half, added some salt and pepper grind, slapped it on the grill, seared it and let it finish indirect. These steaks were some of the best I’ve ever had. Super tender and easily cut with a fork. Definitely beats the farm to table steaks cooked at the same time. I hope they’ll make a steak only freezer stock package then I’ll be in way more often as they are kind of on the expensive side.

A group of us from work went to the NY Butcher Shop for the first time today and ordered sandwiches for lunch. Everything we ordered was great. The sandwiches are HUGE and very delicious. They also have a big selection of ready-to-cook meals (I picked up a meat lasagna and lobster macaroni and cheese).

We drove from Irmo to try this place because I had recently heard about it. Did not feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. You would’ve thought he was preparing for us to bust a display case and steal of cut of beef. Being a business owner myself I’d hide my face in shame the day someone says they felt like that in my place of business. Bad experience, but we still purchased an item. I’ll update the quality of that soon, but as for now, the service screams, “we only want certain kind in these parts.” Good ole S.C. And if you’re wondering who wrote this review, we left about 45 mins ago-you know how you behaved. Shame.Update: Everyone enjoyed the food. We purchased a frozen pasta-smoked Gouda something(I forgot the name and don’t care enough to find it.) But for all intents and purposes, I wanted to be fair and give my opinion on the food. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the service received last night. I’m the type that never forgets and will definitely tell everyone all about it.

Our go-to for excellence in all meats, chicken, salmon, and the rotating supply of fresh off the boat seafoods - you have to be quick to hook some on a Friday! Dinner specials, and prepared ready-to-go casseroles are superb. Wine club is an excellent value for interesting, well priced new world wines, and the monthly get together is the best block party ever. Columbia is finally developing a real food scene!

The food here is incredible and offered at a very fair price. Sandwiches are unbelievably good. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot

I stopped by on a whim and was delighted to know this little jewel is here in Columbia. Purchased a bunch of ready-to-cook packages...all were really good. I ate all the tomato bisque by myself (probably shouldnt have admitted that!)

This place is a hidden gem. I happened to see this place while driving back from an appointment and decided to check it out. I ordered the Brooklyn sandwich(delicious) and bought several other things as well. I love this place and i will be getting a sandwich for lunch today as well
