I got these wonderful rose trees a couple weeks before Christmas during a winter storm. The staff took some extra precaution and wrapped them up so that the roses were protected from the cold. I am so pleased with them and they are blooming like crazy!!

A multi-generational produce vendor here in Colorado Springs. We specifically go to this family for our green chili needs. And I know of Mexican food restaurants in the city who do the same.

The fruit is fantastic they sell at the market. Like impeccable. So nummy. Im a delivery driver for them and love coming here to deliver and stock on fruit.Great service and hospitality

They are very knowledgeable about flowers, plants, vegetation, and how to plant, grow and display them. The employees are very friendly and willing to answer questions, even my dumb ones. Sorry I forgot to take pictures.

The people here are really nice but the trees were really sick when we came by.I told the associates about the scale, spider mites, and aphids that I saw and they just brushed it off as a usual thing. It is definitely not a typical issue in most of the other nurseries Ive visited here.

Spencers is a large community family. Ive never seen so many people greeting each other, hugs, and friends meeting up. The stores are phenomenal with all lawn and garden needs. Then theres the farmers market. ☆☆☆☆☆!

I called needing two hanging baskets of flowers delivered for Mother’s Day. Needless to say I was calling last minute and not living in town I had to rely on what would be delivered. My mother describes the picked baskets as spectacular and sent pictures. They were amazing and very diverse in colors in each basket. Will be calling again for future needs.

I wanted miniature roses for my raised bed planter and was able to find them at a great price. I got the Lemon Drop, All A Twitter, and the Easy Does It miniature rose bushes. Love them and they are blooming nicely!!!

I found this place and fell in loved with their plants and store. They really have a well kept, nursery. They even had organic veggies which is hard to find in other nurserys. Which convinced me to support them even more and the staff is great. I went in there this summer for the first time in June and spent over 500 one day came back to spend another 380. Then went back on July 4th and figured there would be sales and bought $700 in trees, house plants, and organic veggies for the garden that month. In that purchase included 4 trees, the person who rung me up told me the trees have a year warranty. And I was thinking that’s great. (I would have gladly purchase a warranty if offered). She stapled this warranty tag to the back of the receipt along with the original tags from the trees... I thought the tags stapled was from the price tags of the trees. So there warranty tag stapled and attached I didn’t read (which is totally my fault). It states its till October 1st of every YEAR not for a YEAR.. Regardless of when purchased. She spoke quickly and the mask distorts what is said. I went in with pictures around august and again in September. And I purchased more plants, asking what to do with the trees state and was given advise on a fertilizer, which I purchased. I went in today October 9th after digging up the the 2 trees out of 4 trees purchased and asked if they can do something. I was told there policy cannot bend. Its been 8 days after the policy ended. I was surprised, that there was nothing that could be done. I tried everything to get them back but once they declined which was not long after the purchase I thought they just needed time to adjust. It’s been 4 months! And $200 in the garbage. For two trees that declined quickly. I went in at an earlier times like I said a month or two after purchase with pictures for advice on what to do even bought fertilizers that were recommended. I’m saddened to say I will never purchase from here again. I just moved to colorado in February, and went to a lot of nurseries and like this one the most. I will have to go a little further to find a different place maybe with better customer service and warranty’s on expensive purchases. Today was Disappointing.

Held off on giving a rating til I visited a few times. Great place and wonderful selection! The staff are quite helpful and courteous. Ill continue giving my business to them over the large national stores.

Not a lot of stuff available since its almost fall. But the real reason my wife and I always come here is for the oustanding customer service.

Love this place! Their produce is so flavorful, makes me feel cheated with the supermarket produce I was buying beforehand. Also they have a selection of single candies to buy which my kids love, and is way better than them wanting a whole pack at checkout at grocery stores

Was charged $45 for 10.7 gallons of Propane. Thats $4.20/per gallon. I told the lady that sounded very high and she lied to me and told me that was standard price and copped an attitude with me on top of the that. I filled up at another place today. 6 gallons of propane for $17.00. Thats $2.83 /gallon. I think what they are doing is illegal. I think Ill check more into this.

This is a great local place - I’ve found it after driving by a few times and made my way in - my family and I return often to check out the new selections of plants and additions to our garden. The staff is very knowledgeable and gave me great tips for germinating grass in my front yard which is doing spectacular.

Love Spencers! Its such a friendly place, and everyone is knowledgeable and helpful! The prices are fair for the value you receive, and I dont mind spending a little more to support such a historic fixture to our neighborhood! Ill be going here for years to come!

This place is my only stop for plants. Their flower selection is amazing, but their vegetable/herb greenhouses are where the action is. The two girls working the greenhouses are extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend Spencers to anyone looking for herbs, flowers, or perennials.

Great local lawn and garden store. They have a small farmers market/produce stand in back, too. Their service, knowledge, and advice are the best.

The prices are a little high, but the staff is really sweet! They had a nice selection, and the old fashioned candy shop was a perk :)

Stop going to Home Depot and Lowes to get your plants, fertilizer and other stuff for your lawn! They are second rate quality and the staff there has no idea the difference between one plant or another. Spencers, however, has the most knowledgeable and professional staff in COS. Ive been going here for so long ive on a first name basis with many of the staff members: Mike Spencer, Sue, Alice, Maren, Ernie, and Gunther and others. They always have the right advice and their prices are about the same as youd find at the huge chain hardware stores (HD/LOWES) that have put most of the other nurseries in the Springs out of business. Spencers has survived because of their expert and friendly customer service and competitive prices.....thats the ingredient to success for any small business! BTW, when you read Google Reviews, make sure you look at the history of some of the reviewers. Spencers has some reviews from people like Justin Courtney that only leave negative reviews on businesses. I like reviewers that leave both positive AND negative feedback on businesses. I ignore any reviewers that are one sided like down in the dumps Justin.

Huge variety of herbs and such, not so much anything else. Staff is not trained for their jobs at all.Was over charged $12.00 my first time there and didnt catch it until I got home. Second time they acted like I had stolen a credit card to buy $6.00 worth of plastic trays. WHO steels a card to spend such a small amount?!I wont be going here again and I wont recommend this dog and pony place to anyone.

Always good place for your vegetable fix and flowers

My wife and I are all about supporting local business. So, when we needed straw for our garden and our chickens there was no researching prices in the area, we just went to Spencers to pick it up. I said I needed 3 bales of straw and asked the price. They said $12.98 per bale! I thought that was awfully high but gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe straw prices were high every where. So I took the straw home and called Circle Feed in town just to see what they were selling a bale of straw for. Circle Feed was selling bales of straw for $6.50 a bale!I couldnt believe it. A local business right up the road from my house who I trusted was price gouging. I called Spencers and asked if maybe there was a mistake, they said no their price was in fact $12.98 per bale of straw. I said I wanted to return my bales because I cant afford to pay twice what their competitor is asking they said fine. No apology for wasting my time or losing my business. Nothing. Its unfortunate but I will be shopping at Ricks Garden from now on.
