After dinner, my wife and I were looking to have a little sweet tooth fix and went back to one of our old ice cream places - Blue Mountain Creamery. Upon entering, it was pretty empty for a Monday evening, but they had nearly ever flavor available. Including their star studded flavor - Captain Jack.Their Captain Jack ice cream is a mixture of chocolate and vanilla with a splash of Jack Daniel’s for flavoring. It’s by far the best ice cream flavor I’ve ever had at an ice cream shop. Then I complemented it with a scoop of their caramel ice cream which featured dark chocolate chips. My wife got the cup version while I opted for the sugar cone (no waffle cones or bowls were available tonight).The ice cream was great but the five stars come from the massive scoops they give you for cones! Incredible value!Overall, the Captain Jack ice cream flavor, great service and massive portions perfected this nostalgic experience for both my wife and I.

Weve been here a few times and love it! I always try one of their unique flavors and they never disappoint. I had the Honeycomb flavor tonight and it was AMAZING. Last time I got something called Jamaican Coconut (?) and it was amazing too. My husband and daughter get normal flavors. They are good but my husband preferred mine. Employees here are always nice to us when we come in!

My wife and I did the ice cream route. Other than the wonderful natural scenery while sitting outside, this place is nothing special. I got 2 scoops on a cake cone. The portions were barely minimal standards. Lemon Meringue Pie and Malt Bean flavors? I think not. Nothing outstanding in the flavor department. My wife got the Sundae (strawberry and butter pecan). Again, nothing special. Portions were better. We were the only customers at the time. $10 plus cost. I’m taking my business somewhere else next time. For a creamery, it just didn’t add up.

We had different flavors of Gelato. It was very good. My daughter has been to Italy several times and felt this Gelato was as good as she had there. They also have a large selection of delicious ice cream. They are applying social distancing to the serving lines and tables.

The girl working was rude and acted like we were bothering her. No smile. NO BANANAS!!!! Half the ice cream was empty. The whip was nasty... Sitting out to long lets hope I dont get sick. No change either..I think she just couldnt count.. never ever recommend this place...

This place is absolutely amazing! I’ve been to many ice cream places and am a devoted sweet cow fan, but this place tops all of them. The best pralines and cream ice cream I’ve tried, I even got a quart of it to go. Will be back soon, thank you!

They serve both ice cream and gelato, and there is plenty to choose from in either. Students and military (Im neither) get discounts, too.Sit outside and enjoy the sun, or take advantage of the cozy book nook inside.

Even had a dairy free option. The guy there was like you need me to use a different spoon and I was like naw its all good, Im not intolerant 😅

Great location in the University Shops on North Navada. Great for a family drive for icecream or Gelato. With iutdoir seating in the shade and a grassy area for kids, it is perfect gor a time out. The staff are very friendly and the pricing is reasonable. The quality is ok. I think in some areas, more flavoring could be added. I chose the salted caramel Gelato, which was very lite and without taste, but the coconut Gelato was packed with flavor and took us back to our favorite place in Hawaii. Many of the basic flavors are available, without much uniqueness to be found. Maybe a flaming unicorn cake flavor or a smashed cherry surprise is in order?

Medium prices for superb Ice Cram. This was so good I felt like I was breaking the law. Im breaking out in a cold sweat just talking about it. lol I feel that this could be habit forming and picture myself detoxing and meeting with a therapist if Im unable to keep it under control. Great place to stop in in these warm Colorado days. They have plenty of traditional flavors along with those you wont find elsewhere.

I had been there in December with my whole family, and the lady at counter was very welcoming and attended us really nice. She did not rush at all even though it was almost closing time. The ice creams were also really good.

This was our first visit to the creamery. The tables, both inside and outside, were spaced at least 6 feet apart. The creamery felt roomy and quite comfortable. My wife and I looked at the many ice creams and Gelato and chose the Gelato. We each ordered different flavors (each scoop can be different) and we both enjoyed our selection. The staff was very helpful and polite. We enjoyed our visit and we will come back.

The girl working behind the counter was very nice. Shop was clean. We got 3 flavors of gelato and a kiddie cone. The White Chocolate Lime was disappointing. The lime flavor was very overwhelming and actually hurt my tongue to continue eating it. I didn’t end up finishing my single scoop. The pistachio and spumoni were very good.

I went for my birthday banana split, but alas, they had no bananas. Or strawberries. Or any toppings except sprinkles. 😞 I thought they didnt ever serve them, but banana split is on the menu. Gelato was good, but super thin. Nice, clean shop. The dude serving was ok.

We had a terrible experience attempting to try this place. For starters they have a sign advertising fresh doughnuts but they dont sell them. Decorations are great but when it advertises something you dont sell it leaves people annoyed. After this let down I tried getting chocolate ice cream which they dont have for some reason. My third choice was a root beer float but guess what,out of root beer. After this 3rd t let down I just left. The only reason I didnt leave one star was because the stuff was polite and friendly. If you want regular ice cream flavors just go to baskin Robbins or cold stone

Nice little set up with a good selection of gelato and ice cream/sorbet. I enjoyed the sorbet while my wife tried a few of the ice cream flavors. We werent sure of the process and this cute brunette helped us out and she seemed to enjoy her job. We will definitely visit again.

How is this store even in business????? Amidst the pandemic there are too many concerns one should have visiting the store. PLEASE STAY OFF THIS STORE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR AND YOUR FAMILYS HEALTH.1. The server wasnt wearing a hat or a visor therefore no barrier to his hair from falling into gelato/ice cream.2. The server touched the waffle cone with his bare hands before wrapping it in a dispenser napkin. No point thereon serving the cone to the customer wrapped in the napkin.3. The gelato tubs were scraping the bottom.4. No maintenance on the gelato tubs. The flavors were getting mixed in the tubs. Too much of cross-contamination.4. The espresso flavor ice cream tub had sitting water in it. YUCKS...5. No cleanliness. The spoons available for customer use were the ones already touched by some other customers before.

I stopped in this evening for ice cream. Unfortunately, most of the ice cream available had Oreo cookies mixed in. I did not feel like eating ice cream with Oreo which limited my choices. I moved onto the gelato side and found something that was tasty. When I asked the employee why so many ice creams had Oreo, his comment was “for texture purposes.” My recommendation would be to not stock your inventory with so many flavors, containing Oreo cookies.

The ice cream is very good. The atmosphere is pleasant. The prices are typical for a specialty ice cream shop. $3.29 for one scoop. Two single scoop cones $7.10. I would come here again; however, my favorite place is still Colorado Creamery in Old Colorado City.

The young man working in the shop was SUPER nice even when we descended upon him with a bunch of kids who took a long time to make up their minds. I was a bit disappointed seeing how many gelato flavors were out, especially since its a holiday weekend and we were there more than four hours before closing time. The flavors I did try (4) were all pretty good, but cant measure up in taste or texture to the gelato you find in Europe. Loved the decor and set up of the store, and again, the staff member serving us was great.

I had a Groupon, so I figured Id give them a try. Id never had gelato before, but if this is how it normally tastes I am definitely a huge fan. I had the chocolate mousse, which was incredibly smooth and creamy (hense their name sake). My wife had the Aztec chocolate, which was a more complex flavor, but nonetheless very delicious. Will definitely come again, maybe even without a coupon.

Best ice cream Ive ever had. Its so nice to go somewhere where you feel welcomed and feel like the people care about the choices they offer you. The honeycomb is SO unique and SO good. They Have a little kids area to color and the owner is just the sweetest!

Has Chai ice cream, which my husband has been looking for for 12 years.

Easily one of the best creameries in Colorado Springs, consistently. The gelato is absolutely outstanding -- I highly recommend the Chai Yai, theres nothing quite like it. Prices are pretty run of the mill average and the quality is top notch... check it out!

Visiting from Texas. Maybe used to southern hospitality because when we walked in, to our surprise, we werent greeted and seemingly inconvenienced the guy behind the counter on his phone. Couldnt tell me what came on a sundae. Girl sitting on break helped him and he went to the back to tend to his phone then came back. Out of product for my grandmas float and husbands choice of gelato. Unfortunate but glad we found Josh and Johns instea .

Great little local Ice Cream and Gellatto shop. Locally owned and only one in existence. Did not try the Gellatto but had the Banana Walnut and Coconut Caramel Brittle. My wife had the coffee and all the flavors are very intense. The Banana Walnut was amazing well crafted and is now my favorite ice cream ever. Location was very clean and staff was really friendly and did notind the 1,000 requests for each sample. Definitely will be back.

I love this place! They have such unique flavors that change all the time. Rarely do I got in there and not find something I like. They also have pre-packaged pints so you can take some home and save it for later. Also, the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Ice cream was good but Place was FILTHY! All the tables were nasty, floors had trash and half eaten crayons everywhere, toys and walls had ice cream running down them....hate to see what the back looks like! Will never go back!

I used to love this place but it has gone down hill! My go-to flavor (captain jack) tasted like icy cookies and cream. They definitely forgot the jack. Hubby got cookie dough and it was more like mediocre vanilla with two little pieces of cookie dough. But the worst part? The place is FILTHY. Dried ice cream all over the wall on the kids side, the floor was horribly sticky, the bathroom had pee allllll over the toilet and there was no toilet paper. If the customer- facing areas are that gross I don’t even want to know what the back looks like. I’ll stick with Josh and John’s. Two stars because it is ice cream and not kale.

Wow! Today was my first visit and I was blown away by this ice cream!!! Very creamy with a large assortment of delicious flavors.

Of all the places I visited in the Springs, this place has a great selection and the customer service is great too. I am on my third loyalty card and dont see that changing.

This is an excellent place to get ice cream. I appreciate how late they are open and how easy it is to find parking plus its next to a lot of other fun shops. The ice cream and gelato option are both delicious. They have a cosy seating area in the back and regular tables throughout. The only downside for me is that the flow of the line is a bit awkward because there is ice cream on both sides and feed into one register. If its slow its not an issue though and definitely isnt a deal breaker. There is also a cute little path and seating area outside that is nice during the summer. I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I were excited to go in and try some of the vegan/dairy free flavors we saw on the website, but all of the current flavors were dairy. I would have thought there would be at least 1 flavor out in the rotation? Maybe well call before we come out next time.

Locally made gelato and ice cream. While taste is subjective, I havent found anything less than excellent. There is also a comfy chair section, and kids corner with a little table, coloring and reading options, and some toys.

Blue Mountain Creamary is hands down best in Colorado Springs and perhaps anywhere. I tell everyone I know to try it. Until today the staff was open and friendly, clean atmosphere and awesome product. Yet todayAfter class at 11:45 door was locked. The young man finally opened the door. When I came in it felt like a different place. VERY dirty, floors, surfaces, cases had crumbs, sugar, dried ice cream. I nicely emphasized with the young man about the night crew not setting him up for success. However he was very late, no gelato in the cases.Your new staff needs some serious training or your awesome business is going to fail. If it was my first time I would have left. If it looks like this next time, good product or not. I won’t be eating out of a dirty place, with half effort customer survive, late and slightly lazy, zoned out staff- plus half the product not available

Stopped by for a birthday ice cream cake. Only 3 premade so I went with the Banana Carmel Chocolate. The cake was very good. Price was $18. I would go back again.

This place is awesome. We bought a new car so decided to go for a drive. Drove 90 miles roundtrip for their ice cream and it was worth it. Tasted delicious and customer service was excellent. Will return again when we are in the mood for a drive.

Best cookie dough ice cream ever!!!

Just tried to go to this place. Google says they are open till 10 pm. I pull up at 9:13pm door says theyre are open till 9:30pm in the winter. Staff member told me they close at 9pm in the winter. Someone should figure out what the hours are and stick to them. Plus if your closed you should lock the doors.

Sorry folks, but your version is NOT a banana split! A banana split has 3 scoops of ice cream, 3 toppings, whipped cream and chopped nuts. I received a cup with 3 very small scoops of ice cream, and a choice of chocolate or caramel topping and was told that was all you had. No whipped cream. We drove across town specifically to try your banana split. What a disappointment. Your ice cream abd gelati was very good, but you dont know how to make a banana split! At $6+ you can - and should - do better. My companion got a sundae - and even it came with whipped cream and a cherry. What gives?

Slow and disorganized service. I will not return to this establishment.
