Vinny and staff know Range Rovers inside out! the mechanics at the Range Rover dealers dont have the same knowledge as Vinny and his staff, reason being they all drive Rovers home not Chevys and are passionate about Rovers they also make you feel like part of the family. Very professional. Great place - honest and great attention to detail. LR dealer in Bergen County quoted me $$$ for a radio problem (system wouldn’t turn on) which turned out to be just a reset of the system and an engine whistle was quoted at a few thousand $s to fix vs the $400 for the actual repair here.We are very lucky to have found this place to give my 11 year old LR4 HSE a full checkup and clean bill of health at a fair price! I am so pleased to have it back on the road. This shop should be your first call for anything LandRover related.

Everything you should expect from a dealer but better

Waste of time. Firstable, they took 2 weeks to check what was wrong with my evoque. Vinny told me I need a new transmission which will cost me $15,000. Lol. I started looking for a new transmission which I found one for $2,500 BRAND NEW. I called him back and told him I found a brand new one I can buy it and will pay him for the labor and other things my car needed done. He tells me he doesn’t work with parts that customers bring to the shop. This makes no sense. You’re a “SPECIALIST” NOT a Land Rover Dealer, that’s ONE. Two, not even a dealer will charge $15,000 for a transmission on a EVOQUE. I called Land Rover myself and they told me that was insane and definitely not true. Vinny is a thief and try’s to rob people out their money. I donot recommend this shop what so ever. NOTHING was done to my car and they took 2 weeks just to tell me some BS. — I’ll be going directly to LAND ROVER for a second opinion on why my gear box is at fault and will update this review with results and what I ended up paying directly with them.

Without a doubt the best mechanic I’ve ever taken my vehicle in the 20+ years I’ve been driving - so much to the point where I feel regardless of what vehicle I get next it has to be under the Range/Land Rover umbrella so I retain him as my mechanic because I can’t picture owning another vehicle not being accompanied by that level of service. My family have been Land Rover owners for 15 years now and Vinny is the only person we would use for servicing them. He knows these vehicles better than anyone. If you own a Rover you really need to get in touch with Vinny. To be honest, hes the reason Ill always drive Rovers. He keeps my 92 Range Rover running great with over 200,000 mi on it, and also is amazing with newer Rovers.Hes the best.

I found Rover Specialist when I went to Google my local Land Rover dealer. My car had a mystery ailment that my regular mechanic couldnt solve. BEST thing that ever happened. Vinnie fixed the problem, was very fair in his price, and I had my car back in no time at all. The other night, in between snow storms my ignition froze up, key wouldnt turn. I called Vinnie. In an effort to avoid having me have the car towed he MADE A HOUSE CALL!!!! AND FIXED THE PROBLEM!!! IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES!!! So rare in this day and age. A knowledgeable mechanic for a Rover is a hard thing to find yet makes all the difference. Vinnie is that in spades. I found him by default after a steering column issue disabled my discovery 2 and my usual mechanic retired. He turned around my truck in 2 days solving a few other issues at the same time whose repair I had been putting off. Fees were totally reasonable and fair..NOT Rover inflated. Vinnie’s real asset goes further...he really cares about people. When I found myself with a problem in a nearby town he actually drove out and fixed my disabled truck in the parking lot so I could get to work. The alternative was an expensive tow, a pickup ride to work and no way home. Vinnie has definitely won my loyalty. Look no further for a Rover mechanic.

Brought my LR4 2010 to Land-rover of Parsippany for an estimate on repairs. Paid $540 for the estimate and was told that the repairs would cost 18K. Obviously I left Paul Miller and had my car towed back to my house. Lucky for me I found Vinnie at Rover Specialist in Garfield NJ. His estimate was under $5000, yes, those are all real numbers. Brought my Range Rover over to vinny for a 90k mile service and he did a wonderful job. My seat had a rip in it and he fixed it like new. Disorganized office. Didn’t get call to advise about work needed. Paid $210 for diagnosis, asked for print out of findings, didn’t get it.Engine flush and oil change, power steering fluid change performed, cost more than dealer. Can’t say I’ll recommend them or go back.

Had thousands of dollars of work performed on my 94 SWB RRC here over the past year. Vinny and team are always available to troubleshoot and diagnose when things go wrong. I first brought the vehicle in when the engine wouldnt start. Vinny got it going without issue and performed full engine service. Ive never had to fix the same issue twice. Will definitely keep coming back here again (just hopefully not soon!). Vinny cares about his customers and truly knows these vehicles.

Ive been dealing with Rover specialist since I was in the service. In 06 he put my 97 LRRR back on the road again. Since then Ive purchased a 04 LRRR HSE. Vincent is an amazing person. His knowledge of this brand is second to none. Hes a straight-shooter all the way. If youre realistic in getting youre Land Rover serviced or repair or restored hes who youve been looking for.

Vinny is the Rover specialist! I had no idea what that meant until I arrived. The reviews are spot on, and really nothing more to say than being knowledgeable, forthcoming and honest. My 2008 after a few bumps lowered itself, close to bottoming out. Without hesitation over the phone Vinny knew what was wrong. On further inspection, we reviewed the truck in its entirety and figured out some items to look at and work on, and Vinny took care o them with little hesitation and at a fair price. I am relieved to have someone close to home and with attention to detail, which these vehicles require- will continue to go back, again and again.

The best. I got bad diagnostics and runarounds for 4 months from other mechanics including the dealership...Vinnie fixed it in 4 days for a fraction of what the others would have charged. Even fixed a few things he didnt charge for. Also a very cool informative guy, dont waste your time elsewhere if u have a Rover.

I called the owner Vinnie to ask about an upgrade for my RR HSE he stated that I need to drop my car off to him before he would price out the job and when I asked why he needed to have the truck to price changing OEM speakers he got nasty and hung up on me. if this is how you treat a person as a first impression god help you once he has your car stay far away from this man. terrible demeanor zero customer service nasty person.

Took my RRS 2006 to him. This guy completely lied about his work. Asked him to fix parking brake light issue and do a simple transmission fluid maintenance. He sold me on full parking brake replacement for $1700 plus and messed up my brakes completely. Then on the transmission fluid flush he put the wrong fluid and transmission started slipping. He told me I need a new transmission (and tried to sell me on 8k for a new transmission). Went to dealer, dealer charged me $1500 to do brakes correctly and re-flushed transmission with correct Fluid. Truck runs perfect. He is dishonest and tries to bait and switch people with this crappy work. He knew he was wrong (I literally proved it via paper work from dealer). Going to sue him now, he’s not horning his FALSE work. All beware honesty and living up to your work is everything. This guy has neither. And he doesn’t know Jack on new Range Rovers. Gives a low price and then does bait and switch and is a horrible mechanic.

I do not think this mechanic care’s about he’s clients, I will never go back to him at all, I don’t understand why he charge’s so much, he’s prices like the dealership prices .

Whenever I read reviews, I’m always skeptical about ones that sound too rosy or wax poetic about a place. Well, at the risk of making this sound like one of those paid promos, I just want to say that Vinny and his team easily represent the single best experience I’ve had with a high end garage in over 25 years of driving.I went to him on a recommendation from another mechanic, as I wanted someone who specialized in Rovers. What I got was a guy who eats, bleeds and dreams Rovers, but also someone who isn’t interested in ripping his clients unfairly, but wants to earn your repeat business for the next time (and Rovers do have problems over the years, let me tell you). To my knowledge, he doesn’t advertise, it’s all word of mouth…. And the people who are recommending him aren’t just Land Rover “civilian” owners, but guys who are in the business of selling classic Rovers, Defenders, and the like.One thing that blew me away was that last month, my car’s electric had a fault and I lost my power brakes on the highway leaving Vinny’s shop on a Friday evening after he had worked on a related electrical problem the car had. I called the shop and he picked up (name another mechanic that is working after 4pm on. Friday!) and told me to bring the car by, as he was still there. I rolled the car in, he put it up on the lift himself even though all of his guys were gone around 6:30pm, and went to work. When he discovered that it wouldn’t be a quick fix and he needed to keep my car until the following week, he felt so bad that he hadn’t caught the problem the first time that he sent and me an Uber on his own dime.Suffice it to say, I’m a customer for life, and swear by this guy. I’ve had Rovers since the first US production Defenders hit the market in 1993/94, and have never seen someone so knowledgeable or detail-oriented about Land Rovers like Vinny.
