Its a great little experience inside of Findlay Market. You can try a mini sample of any of the chocolates. It smells wonderful inside! The clerk was really nice and let us try several samples until we figured out what we want. Definitely a must-see if you go to Findlay Market!Parking available in lots a block or two away, or street parking. Located very near the Findlay Market stop of the streetcar.

I found this place when I moved to Cincinnati 5 years ago. My aunt was in town visiting from Seattle and we went exploring Findlay Market. Delicious chocolate and a fun weekend. I wanted to recreate that and sent her package with Maverick coffee and chocolate. She said the packaging was very nice and the packaging slip had a nice handwritten note from Ben P. saying I hope you enjoy your chocolate Debbie. It was a very sweet and personal touch. Thank you for making this a nice gift. ❤️

Impressive and ExpensiveThe chocolate is incredible. The samples showcase the surprising differences between each single-origin cocoa bean. We ended up buying 2 bars: one orange and one Vietnam. Together they set us back $22.Im glad to have discovered this place but will definitely consider it a luxury splurge.

We visit Maverick Chocolate at least once a week on our Riverside Food & Culture tour. Paul Picton and his family are so knowledgeable about chocolate. They created the business just a few years ago and have already won numerous prestigious food awards. All the chocolate is hand made from bean to bar inside their Findlay Market Store. Their homemade truffles are beautiful too! Plus you can sample the chocolate before you purchase. Just to walk in and smell the fragrance of chocolate is heavenly!

This place smells amazing when you walk in, and the chocolates are beautiful. I havent tasted them yet but I can only assume they are great. The problem was that I felt like I was bothering the gentleman at the counter by placing my order and asking questions. He seemed quite grumpy!

Above and beyond the absolute best source for fine chocolate in the Greater Cincinnati area! They source their cocoa beans from around the world and regularly visit farms to ensure quality and ethical farming practices. Beans are roasted and processed in house, and you can watch the process of turning raw beans into fine chocolate right there in the store! Attend one of their scheduled tours for the best possible experience, or simply come in and try the free samples before making your purchase. They have a full selection of designer bars, several of which have won professional recognition from chocolate associations and food awards. They serve frozen hot chocolate during the summer and drinking chocolate in the winter, both will blow you away! Their full line of truffles are miniature delicious art pieces, and a perfect gift for anyone you care about. Definitely worth multiple visits!

I stopped into this store while trying to find another a few days before Christmas, BEST DETOUR EVER!!!! Of course I kept some of the chocolate for myself and now Im obsessed! The chocolate is not only phenomenal, the customer service is fantastic!!Owning a small business is exhausting!! I walked in RIGHT BEFORE CLOSING (not knowing) and Paul was welcoming and informative! He answered every question I had and carefully wrapped multiple gift boxes for me. He couldve told me they were closing but he instead patiently provided 5 star service!!I will 100% be back and I already started spreadingthe word!!!!

As said life is beautiful with chocolate 😉 actually I had hot chocolate drink it’s not so sweet but it’s yum and hot. They had so many varieties of chocolate made from scratch. I think the price here is little expensive. Because one hot chocolate of small size is 5$. Well and clearly maintained.

They have the best chocolate selection in Cincinnati. The flavors range from really unique to classic chocolate. They offer samples, as their chocolate is in the expensive range. What really sets them apart is their hot chocolate. I swear it is literally just liquid chocolate. It is a one size small cup on the expensive end, but the chocolate is so rich that it is easily shared amongst 2-3 people. I havent tested it, but I think if you left the hot chocolate to cool it would just turn into a brick of chocolate in the bottom of the cup. The shop is located directly out side of Findlay Market and an upcoming surrounding area.

This place has the best vegan chocolate I have ever tasted. One would never know they are eating vegan truffles. We bought the five spice and peanut butter vegan truffles and loved both. I have already requested two dozen assorted vegan truffles from Maverick’s for Christmas 2019. I can’t wait! 😋 Seriously, I will be back there in two days for more truffles. They melt in your mouth. Yum.

The best chocolate, bar none, that I have ever had. The quality is far superior to any of the large corporate manufacturers and, more importantly, all of their resources are ethically sourced. They only do direct trade with their bean growers so they are supplying a good wage and getting high quality beans. Their chocolate has one both national and international awards and once you try it you can see why. And the prices are VERY reasonable when you understand what goes into making real, quality chocolate and when compared to other bean-to-bar chocolate makers around the country and the world. Excellent!!

Visiting Cincinnati for the first time and we stumbled across this chocolate store. I eat a lot of chocolate so I had to stop in. The young man working the counter was very knowledgeable about their products and helped point us towards some samples. The 70%, which he referred to as one of their flagship bars, was outstanding. We bought a bar of that and their 60% milk. Its not cheap, but well worth the price!

We were on vacation and walking around the market and stopped in. This chocolate is addictive. They let you sample their wonderful chocolates and even explain the process. My children were fascinated. At first I was j timated to walk in with little children, but they were more than accommodating. Yes, the chocolate is expensive, but one must always remember that you get what you pay for. I for one was very satisfied with what I paid for.

This has to be the best place to go in Findlay market. The chocolate is nothing like you’ve ever tasted before and the wide range of flavor profiles are sure to give you a new and exciting take on just regular chocolate. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly and always happy to walk you through chocolates he discovers from different areas of the world. I highly recommend this to any chocolate lover or just anyone wanting to treat themselves!

A wonderful treat. Most of the time you only find chocolate of this quality imported from Europe. If you like fine chocolate (not manufactured on an assembly line, ouch! sorry!) you will love this wonderful shop. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful; and the tastings are perfect. After you make your selection dont forget to get some liquid chocolate for your walk back to the car, you will be satisfied.

This a great place for some amazing quality and exotic chocolates and coffee. The place was suggested by one of the locals and turned out to be a perfect suggestion. Right next to the Findlay market, it doesnt shout out from the main street, but once youre in, you wont listen to anything else apart from the folks there. They make chocolates within in the same premises and you can see all of it - from a distance at least. Great to bring authenticity and freshness to what youre eating. The staff is great and enthusiastic. We tasted a couple of chocolates and they were great. Bought one of them and this place is certainly to be recommended to anyone who comes to Cincinnati.

Talk about expensive! I certainly couldnt afford to get a treat here every day. But it sure is Devine chocolate.I sampled the seasonal pumpkin chocolate and the lemon lavender white chocolate. Both were fantastic! But I left with two truffles. The peanut butter was fine, but the Hazelnut Crunch was the true star. The Hazelnut flavor was rich and beautiful.Maybe I need to request some of this chocolate for Christmas!

When people have passion for chocolate, and they give it more than lipservice, you get Maverick Chocolate. Located in Findlay Market, Maverick offers a selection of amazing chocolate bars, bonbons, and chocolate beverages. While samples are free, you will not get out the store without spending some money. It is not inexpensive and it is not chocolate you down in one go. It is meant to be savored, enjoyed, and appreciated. The employees are knowledgeable, and the chocolate is made from absolute scratch. I appreciate that they source their cacao directly from farmers. At $8-$13 a bar, it is a treat for me. I typically go with the Fahrenheit 451. Fahrenheit 513 has some spice to it. Today I opted for the 65% Espresso Dark Chololate. Phenomenal. The staff are happy to educate you about chocolate, and on the inside of the bar packaging, is a chocolate tasting guide. It tells you what to look for in quality chocolate, including appearance, sound, aroma, taste, texture, and finish.I give it four stars because, while I understand chocolate made from scratch and sourced directly will be more expensive, I feel it is prohibitively expensive. Be sure, though, Maverick Chocolate is not playing around and if you have even the tiniest taste for chocolate, you will not be disappointed.
