I LOVE their chocolate! My first experience was at the Findlay Market location. The Rookwood store is beautiful, simple and elegant. You must look up if you go because the owner designed and built the most amazing miniature plane by hand. You can also see how they make the chocolate as a glass wall allows you to see “behind the curtain.” Try the bars, truffles, chocolate chip cookies, frozen chocolate . . . ALL of it is to die for. They are a bit pricey, averaging over $10 a bar, but excellence should be rewarded. One recent change that I especially like is serving size suggestion and sugar content are now on the packaging. Please check out this chocolatier. You won’t want to go anywhere else for this delicacy after you’ve tasted their offerings. Maverick is just that good.

Worked here. Owner(husband) was a complete jerk to me. Missed a few days because I got sick and a family emergency and decided to fire me through text messages. Blamed me for losing $20,000 of production. How professional. Other workers are great. He ruins it though.

Maverick chocolate...its nice to see a more boutique chocolate shop in Cincinnati (or America in general). The interior of the shop is setup to showcase the chocolate; its a high contrast environment.You walk in and you can sample all of the chocolate bars available for purchase. Some were great (single origin Tanzania and lemon lavender), others good, and some were ho-hum (chocolate with chili)...but taste is subjective. I thought my lemon lavender bar was a bit stale (?) and my mother agreed...truly disappointing since the sample was amazing (it did win an award).The truffles are beautiful...splendid colors that appease and tantalize the eyes. Its like a giant jewelry box! Like the bars, some flavors were hits (espresso and passion fruit) and others need some fine tuning (lemon raspberry and earl grey).Overall, a good step in the right direction but a few tweaks could make this shop top notch.

There is chocolate and then there is really good chocolate and this place makes probably the best chocolate that one can eat because it is absolutely fresh. But not only is it fresh its also different spicy chocolates peppery chocolates different seed based chocolates You have to understand its much deeper and thats why for anyone who enjoys to eat would enjoy this place.

I recently learned about this company while watching a cable news coverage on them. I was impressed with their story and decided to check them out. I’m glad I did! Prior to ordering, I called in and got some fantastic recommendations on what chocolates I maybe should try. The rest is history, as they say I’m hooked! Awesome customer service on the phone and even once the order was placed. They were on top of things, with emails that had a certain warmth that let you knew you were getting a product that not only was going to taste great, but was also truly cared for.

If you havent been here you should make time to check it out!! You wont regret your decision!!!

I moved very far away from Ohio (and to a city known for their fine chocolates) and i have to say that maverick is definitely the best of the best. I love the creamy body that both their milk chocolates and darkest of the dark share. The snap when breaking a piece off the bar is perfect, and I really feel like I taste all of the tasting notes that they claim each bar posses. It is worth every penny in my opinion, and I hope you will try Maverick out as your new chocolate place. The staff all enjoy their jobs and will happily point you towards to the chocolate(s) you are most likely to like :)

So good, worth every penny. I read about them in Cincinnati Best of the City issue, tried it and now crave for it when I think about chocolate. Love the Belize dark chocolate and Rüya Turkish Coffee dark chocolate!! Just bought a few more to send to out of town friends/family.

Yummy, ethically sourced chocolate made locally. They have samples of each bar to taste. I will definitely be back to buy more chocolate!

Their truffles and chocolate bars are amazing! I bought 6 truffles in all different flavors and loved them all! They are so beautiful too! They would be great gifts! We will be going back!

It was very clean, and well kept. The staff member that served us was very nice and patient when we kept changing what truffles we wanted. All 12 truffles we bought were great! Will be coming back in the future.

Incredible chocolate. They now come in mini sizes so you dont have to feel its for special occasions only! Great hot chocolate in the cold months. I buy several regular bars at a time and keep them on hand as host gifts.

I LOVE Maverick Chocolate! For THE best chocolate that Cincinnati has to offer, they are it! They ethically source their beans, and the quality they put into their product is 2nd to none.And their hot chocolate, best Ive ever had! I dont do hot chocolate onna regular basis, but for them its the exception! Their selection of bars varies throughout the year but you can always try samples of their current selection

Amazing chocolates, with lots of free samples! They actually produce the chocolate there, allowing you to see the entire process, from roasting and grinding, all the way through blending and setting. Their truffles make for an amazing gift, and drinking chocolate is a must have for the holiday season! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, able to suggest the appropriate chocolate based on your specific tastes. An absolute gem and a welcome addition to the Rookwood shopping center, especially for those who didnt want to fight downtown traffic to get to their more famous original Findlay Market location

They have the BEST chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had! Normally I feel kind of meh about chocolate chip cookies but I got this one on a whim and DANG it was delicious. The perfect amount of sweetness, soft (but not too soft) in the middle, and kinda crispy on the edges. I never leave reviews for places but this cookie was too good not to rave about lol
