Wanted to stop in and grab a sandwich. Have never visited before and was not sure what was available. Man at the counter did not seem to want to help. I left without ordering. Poor customer service.

I came in here one day for the first time deciding what I was going to make for my week, and the men at the counter were very helpful!! they cut the bacon fresh I saw and also the salmon was delicious and juicy 😋will be going back, alot of restaurants use the meat from here as shown on the walls so you know its good!!

Whoa! Who knew that classic butcher shops were still around. I stopped in and asked for advice on cooking sausage. Jeff walked me through the whole process, he took his time with me and gave me a very thorough education. The sausages that I bought were all delicious! The best that I have ever eaten. This place is amazing, it is well worth the special trip to pick up all of your butcher shop needs. I would give them more than five stars if Google would let me.

Great place to get some meat. They have just about everything you can think of and if they dont have it they can give you a recommendation on a good alternative. Their sausages are legendary.

I have been coming here ever since my grandfather took me as a child. Now I take my kids there for the full Cincinnati goetta/meat market experience. My Dad lives out of town and will buy 10 lbs of goetta to freeze and take with him-- he says it freezes well! These guys are great. They know their regulars on a first name basis. The food is first class. I recommend the sausage making class.

I enjoy making the trip to shop here. The quality of their meats and selection is far better than any grocery store. The meats are trimmed for you and while you pay slightly more you are actually getting what you paid for. I appreciate the service of the staff and the time they take to answer questions even when busy.

Went on a day trip to Cincy and decided to try to find a good butcher shop in town because they are in short supply where I live. I bought a variety of sausages (try the curry wurst!) and a brisket flat for smoking. All seemed to be priced fairly and the service was top notch. I will definitely make another trip to this spot the next time I head into Cincinnati. It seems that this place has a good reputation that is well-deserved.

What a butcher should be and what I remember as a child. Get to know the people that sell you your food. Especially today when many people eat out frequently or if they do prepare meals at home, its simply reheating. Butchers like these gentlemen can tell you where the product came from and how to prepare it. They take pride in their craft and it shows in the product they provide. Ive never purchased anything there that wasnt excellent. But product is only half of it. Service is key.One of the first times I shopped at Avril-Bleh, many years ago, an elderly woman came into the shop. She had just hit the curb with her car and blew out a tire. Like a pit crewman, one of the butchers went immediately outside and changed her tire.Just a couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I were in shopping. She found a $20 bill on the floor near the register and gave it to one of the guys. Today when I was in, the owner walks in and asks me if I got my money. I have no idea what hes speaking about. No one claimed the $20, so he gave it to me to give to my daughter. How many businesses would do that? Neither of those stories have much to do with buying meat, but are good examples of the kind of service you can expect. If you want a particular cut, theyll do it for you. If you are not sure what you want, they will work with you to find the best choice for whatever youre cooking.Everyone should have a great butcher. Ive found mine. Go to Avril-Bleh for yours or find one yourself, but never buy cellophane wrapped meat or poultry that you have no idea where it came from again.

I love everything about this place. This includes the quality of the meat, the wonderful customer service and the amazing variety of products. Theyll order just about anything for you. They are more than willing to share with you less expensive versions of items they carry, such as their ground beef, theres two options and both are amazing. I always choose the less expensive one and its tender flavorful and very fresh. My only complaint and its very minor, is that you have to pay to park to shop here.

When you open the butcher paper you realize that youre not in Krogers. And youre happy youre not. No supermarket can match the superior quality of Avril Bleh products

Been coming here for 30+ years. Parking has dried up on Court Street due to a massive street renovation. Hit or miss with moody service inside at the counter. Sad.

A+ service. My brother got me a gift certificate a year ago, and I was lazy about redeeming it. They tracked it down, were friendly and accommodating the whole time (even though I know it was a pain in the neck to find), and we got two fantastic dry aged T-bones.Definitely will be back.

Great quality and selection, a real gem of a shop no matter what youre looking for.

Their sausages are unreal, I hosted an Oktoberfest party and purchased several kinds, guests were floored. The guys that work there are extremely nice too. In warm weather months, they have the cash grill going outside at lunch, cant beat it.

Great place to get excellent meat. The bourbon bacon is awesome. Chicken is tender.

First visit I took my boys with me, 3 and 5 and they thought it was so cool. The staff took the time to talk to my sons about the 4th of July which was nice for them. I picked up a hanger steak, Italian sausage, real hot dogs and some capocollo for a party. It was a wonderful experience, nice to see are real butcher shops filled with real people and real meat. I WILL BE BACK

These guys know their meat. They will be happy to give you any obscure cut that is possible. Their prepared products like sausage are pretty good too.

Simply the best! Ive taken their butchering class, sausage making class, and purchase all my meat from them. Need a special prep? No problem, theyll accommodate any request - ask for an airline chicken breast prep at just about any other shop and youll get a blank stare. Ask for it at Avrils and youll be amazed! My favorite butcher in the city. They have a wide selection of dry aged steak and house made sausages. The butchers are all very knowledgeable and more than willing to help you.

I would visit this shop at least once a week during grilling season but now now. Service has gone downhill and after my last encounter where I was actually yelled at to take a number while I was just browsing the case. I would understand if there was multiple customers waiting but it was myself and two other customers. One of which was checking out at the time. So I walked out without a purchase.Calm down. You sell average meat which is slightly over priced.Also the grilling station outside is going to make someone very sick. You do not service cooked food with the same utensils you used to place raw product on the grill with.

Im not going to ruin this review with words. Just go. Order anything. And let your tastebuds sing their praises!
