Clerk was confrontational, claiming my ID was fake. Im 23 for the record. Pretty annoying since I needed the vodka for the vodka sauce I was cooking.
Love it! Great beer selection and super nice folks working here.
Great selection and fair pricing. I was helped by a wonderful brunette woman, she was dynamite! It’s nice to have a local Lincoln Square liquor store to support.
You would never know about this place just walking or driving by. Ive been to this bar a couple of times now and have been to the adjacent liquor store a few times. Its family-owned and they are really great people. Very kind and friendly. I had a really great experience last night for Saint Patricks day and I cant wait to go back!
The bar was literally empty. Stopped in for drinks with friends that havent seen in 6 months. Just want to chat and catch up.Hannity /w Fox News was blasting. We politely asked to turn it down. The old man watching refused to lower it.Again, we were literally the only patrons. We said fine, well finish up and leave. He said go ahead and leave. Will NEVER return.
Another great Chicago slashie. Chris owns it and his son Nick tends bar. Great neighborhood place to hang out. Not very busy, which I am glad, but its a fine example of a Chicago tavern
I bought a bottle of Tincup Whiskey in this liquor store today, 1.75l for $49.99. When it came time to open the bottle, the little tin cup on top of the cap was stuck. We couldnt get it off and ultimately tried to do so with pliers and the glass broke. Whiskey spilled everywhere and the entire part of the glass bottle under the tin cup was still stuck up there. I brought it back to the store right away, thinking they would replace it, but the owner wouldnt even let me tell him what happened. He kept talking over me and saying it was my fault I broke it. As far as Im concerned, he sold me a bottle that wouldnt open and he owes me $49.99 + tax. This is the closest liquor store to me, and I promise you, I will NEVER ENTER THIS STORE AGAIN!
Its very nice
This place has an amazing beer selection for a small store. They offer a real selection, whoever is ordering there, knows what they are doing (theyre not just selling what reps tell them to). Zombie dust, awesome off color selection, great pipeworks selection, and more. Also, the guys working behind the counter know what theyre talking about. Prices are in line with the area.
Multiple times patronizing this business I have been hassled about my ID. Most recently the man working the counter took my ID to his boss, then returned and said “my boss says I can sell to you, but if it was up to me I wouldn’t.” For the record I am 25 and I definitely don’t look 21 anymore. I live in this neighborhood and avoid this business whenever possible, don’t go here.
I honestly don’t understand this place. It’s a good liquor store with good prices as great selection, but you must enter through a creep abandoned bar. Odd.
Nice family business. great beer selection. cool neighborhood vibe
The owner Chris who owns the store on the corner of Western and Leland is a really nice guy hes been there for over 30 years. His son also owns the adjacent business chubby wieners. Both places are highly recommended!
Compact liquor store in the heart of Lincoln Square. For its size, it has a good selection of liquor to satisfy your needs. It may not have everything but its likely to have what you want.
Decent place to grab a beer near Lincoln Square. Pretty quiet even on a Saturday if you are looking for a place you dont need to shout. Prices seem a bit high for a neighborhood place.Upgrading to 4 stars for the liquor store joined to the bar. Very good selection for a corner store. Some 3 Floyds and Stone options I havent seen elsewhere.
Original Chicago Bar & liquor store. Must be seen. Similar to the older Chicago Ave & Division bars & west side.
Ive only patronized it as a liquor store. Its just fine. Liquor store expensive. Their selection is good enough, and the service is just fine.
Way overpriced, some items dont have labels and old rude lady behind the counter makes up prices and rudely asks you to leave if you dont want to pay her made up price.
This store has a bar attached to it and its off the chain, great neighborhood bar to go to and let loose after work or weekend.
Mispriced liquor, high prices, and unfriendly customer service. Ill be visiting the nice people at westwood liquor a block down from now on
First time customer. The man behind the counter is ignorant. Not only could he not tell that my Illinois driver license was real, but he also couldnt figure out if my state ID was real or not. His go to question was to ask if what my sign was which is Cancer. His response no your wrong your a libra my birthday is June 22nd. The lady behind the counter tried to lecture how I would know what my sign was if it was a real ID.....when I did... The fool kept claiming I had been there before and he sold to me which was a mistake so he wouldnt do it again (The Fool cant make up his mind on whats real or not I suppose). Again first time customer. It wasnt until I showed him my FOID card that he believed I was 24. Ill wont go back unless its to throw out the trash
Great service, ok prices, great bartender!
This is the type of place you go to after having a great day and you wont it to go bad, thanks a lot Leland inn inc,I had my phone stolen from them and they havent give it back since this place is terrible why allow its doors to still be open thats beyond me
Owner explains but doesnt push
Not telling what I got! Im greedy like that!
Liquor store with a bar attached to the side. Have not tried the bar but the store has standard prices and service.
Bouncer would not let me in to the bar, claiming I had a fake ID. I am 29 and have a state-issued ID. When I told him this, he took me outside and said, “Listen buddy, I can refuse to let you in for any reason I want.” Okay. Thanks for the hospitality.
A bit over priced.... in regards to the liquor store.
Always great service
Not open until 2 as stated
Great options
It is not what it was before.
