Line is ridiculous! Only 2 people working. I came in and there was nothing but regular Carmel and cheese mix. It was 3:30 and they didnt close until 7pm. I was traveling from Indianapolis Indiana just to get my feelings hurt and no dang cashew or pecan popcorn! I stood in line for 40min.

Ordered the Carmel and the Carmel Pecan. The popcorn was fresh; the smell outside the store was enough to draw me in. The pecans were huge, almost halves. And I love pecans.

Im sure its annoying to the locals when out of towners crowd up their spots, but I really enjoy Garrett popcorn a bunch, and always grab enough to pass out to family and friends! This store is usually my go to when I visit Chicago. The staff is friendly, and get the orders together very quickly.

Yes....there is no visit to Chicago without a stop by Garretts popcorn. I was in town a few weeks ago and this store location was nearby, so couldnt resist picking up some of their delicious popcorn. Its in the downtown area so street parking can be tricky. There was plenty of nearby parking garages, so I recommend parking and walking to it as well as nearby attractions. The facility was super clean and well maintained to the highest standards. The staff was very friendly and professional. This location was following the COVID-19 pandemic precautions to the T.Overall my experience was excellent and of course Ill be back when Im town again. I would highly recommend this store to local people or tourists that maybe just in town visiting.

Popcorn was decent. We got the famous Garrett Mix of cheese and caramel and it wasn’t our favorite. Next time we’ll just get the caramel. Fun to try though!

In & Out....great popcorn shop. There are quite a few Garretts, but this one on Jackson, was BY FAR, the best one to pick up & go. No long line, and extremely courteous people. Plus, the popcorn was fresh & DELICIOUS!

Wish the location was a bit more convenient for drivers but easily accessible via walking. Service great, ladies were very friendly and expeditious despite being crowded.

Best popcorn I have ever had especially the Carmel. The combo of cheese and Carmel is very good, the cheese offsets the sweetness of the caramel. I would recommend to invest and get a tin to keep it fresh for longer period of time.

Flavors were good, but the cheddar popcorn was stale when we got it. The caramel popcorn was still crispy.

I bought the spicy popcorn and Carmel mixed. The spicy popcorn was chewy as to be stale or like when too much air had gotten to it.

I love Garretts popcorn. Anytime Im near a location I get this popcorn. I wish they sold this at the movies.

The popcorn is great and Garretts is iconic. We ordered ahead showed up at the appropriate pick up time. Nothing was ready. Theres no separate line for online order pickups. We had to stand in line, wait to get to the front and wait for them to prepare the order. Whats the point of ordering ahead? Why even bother giving us a pickup time?

This location is very small but the popcorn as always is a must have! A Chicago classic with the Chicago mix. The service here was really nice. They offered us a carry bag and were very pleasant. The best part is that they have little packets of wet wipes for your hands! Definitely needed because the popcorn is very buttery and your hands get very gross. Not a fan of how buttery the popcorn is but I guess that’s the way it’s done lol

I know there is a lot of hype for these popcorns but these aren’t so great. I am not a Caramel fan so I didn’t take the Garrett special also popularly known as the Chicago Special (Store can’t use the name because it’s legally taken by some other one in LA)They have 3-4 stores in Chicago I went to the one near sky deck.The sales boy however was the cutest, he suggested so much to me, the women on the billing counter however was such a bi**h, I smiled so much at her all the time, but her face spoiled my mood.

On a recent trip to Chicago as my time was dwindling down, I started thinking about what I was going to bring back as omiyage. Soliciting the ideas of locals, a regular suggestion was Garrett Popocorn. Popcorn? Really?Yes! Garrett Popcorn Shops are all over the city--but there is also one at ORD airport if you have room in your carry-on. Garrett pops fresh popcorn throughout the day and you can smell the butter and sugar from down the street. The classic flavors include butter, cheese, caramel, and caramel with nuts. They also have featured flavors like buffalo sauce.The popcorn most people take home is the Garrett or Chicago Mix, its half cheese and half caramel, a salty and sweet combo. If you are eating it right away theyll give it to you in a waxy bag and its supposed to last 24-hours. Tins make more presentable gifts and are supposed to last 10-days. My suggestion if you like sweet and crunchy popcorn is to go with the caramel or caramel with nuts because it holds up better. And it was a hit with the everyone back home, or at least it certainly disappeared fast enough!

Delicious as always at Garretts. An insider tip if you havent been here before is to ask for samples. The staff is willing to let you try them all. They also have a few mixed options if you cant decide. If youre looking for a Chicago souvenir, they have awesome tin cans you can fill up and take home. I always go for the caramel popcorn but they are all equally delicious.

Greasy/oily flavorless mess. I have been eating Garrett’s popcorn all of my life, I’m from Chicago. The popcorn tasted old and stale. I got only cheese popcorn, it did not taste like cheese. Had much better at Mariano’s and it is much cheaper and easier to get seeing they have free parking. The popcorn also had a lot of unpopped kernels Hard pieces in every bite! Hoping it is just because I came towards the end of the day and that this is not the new normal.

This is the best popcorn of my life. Love the mix of cheese and caramel. The cashew popcorn is delicious too. This is not overrated. A must for sure when in Chicago. There’s different size bags and tins to choose from. I got a lot for $20. They also give a military discount.

Ultra fresh popcorn, esp carmel and cheese mix or separate. Also buttered and various nutted carmel varieties like pecan or cashew. No kettle corn. Many shops temp closed because of COVID. Like most things in Chicago, parking can be a challenge. Worth going out of the way for.

I am soooo disappointed in this company and its customer service. I ordered my popcorn online September 22, 2020 and it was supposed to be delivered on September 26, 2020. To my surprise and dismay, it never arrived. By it being a Saturday, I had to wait until Monday to speak to someone regarding my order. When someone is paying $96 for some popcorn, they would at least expect it to be timely. Although I do understand that things can happen and a delivery could be overlooked or omitted, I would expect the company to try and replace it as expeditiously as possible. I spoke to the representative (Meagan) and she informed me that they could send the order back out. I asked if it would be overnighted, she said she could do that. However, when I asked for a discount because I didnt receive the popcorn and for the inconvenience, I was told I could have a discount of 30% and if I took the discount, they wouldnt overnight it. I was so shocked because we all know it doesnt cost $96 to make a can of popcorn and they would still make a profit regardless, but I dont feel they did the right thing as far as customer service and the inconvenience I endured. Well, today is October 2, 2020 and the popcorn was delivered today, 10 days after the original order date. This will be the last time I order online for their products. Id rather spend my money elsewhere where its appreciated, especially during this pandemic. I hear Nuts on Clark is a good place to try and may give them a chance.

During my first time visiting Chicago, I kept smelling the overpowering sweet caramel aromas around every block with a Garret shop on it. I finally caved in and walked inside, where a Chicago native told me this place was a tradition to locals and a must-have when visiting. The girls behind the counter were friendly and helpful, and I got a small cashew caramel bag for a great price. Would recommend to anyone visiting.Its nothing overly fancy or amazing, its just reasonably priced, delicious popcorn.
