Fabulous service! I went to have my eyeglass and contact prescription updated. The exam was a pleasant experience and I was able to ask some questions I had about my prescriptions without feeling rushed. Michele at the front was very helpful, she picked out some great frames for me to try out, one of which I ended up deciding to go with. I was very pleased with my experience!

Had a good encounter with the doc Ashley Zimmerman at the Wicker Park office but awful encounters with their support staff. Have called numerous times to try and put in a contact lense order. The first time a lady named Laura was suppose to put in the order. I called 2 weeks later to follow up on the order. Turns out she never did it. I told her how unhappy I was and asked for a discount. She said shell ask her management and call me back. Ive not received a call back for 1 week. Trying to move on from them so I called their central line to get my prescription. They sent me the incorrect prescription. Not sure who has the time to deal with this type of incompetence. Hope someone from their company sees this and contacts me.

From start to finish, a really unenjoyable customer experience. Village Eyecare is okay if you are in a pinch, but would otherwise try to find somewhere else to use for your basic eye care needs.

I unfortunately had a serious concussion while playing a sport. I had tons of astigmatism/Dryness to the right eye. gladly I found out about the Wicker Park Location. The Staff along with the doctor are incredible. I had poor vision and right away told me I had a solution with contacts. I am so pleased with everyone and their staff, they treat you with so much respect. The prices are reasonable and really worth it. The female doctor will sit down with you and find the best possible way to make you feel good and better about your vision and yourself.

Great experience right in my neighborhood! The exam and glasses shopping experience were both fantastic. Ashli was incredibly helpful and fun when helping me pick out the right frames. She even let me in to pick up my frames when I got there a couple minutes after theyd locked the door for the day. Ill definitely be returning here for all of my vision needs!

People were very nice and location was pretty, but they couldnt get my prescription correct. I had to go back twice (3 total visits) to get glasses with a prescription that still wasnt totally correct.

Update to review in Fall 2018: Returned again this year for my annual check up, and the staff was very helpful, the eye doctor listened, offered advice, and overall it was a positive eye exam experience. When I was leaving, the staff helped me work through what was or wasn’t covered by insurance. However later I called to place an order for contacts, and yet again there were issues with getting charged the correct amount. Overall, after 3 visits with Village Eye Care and 3 times having issues with getting charged the right amount, I’m seriously reconsidering my eye doctor.Original review from Fall 2017: This was my first time going to the Wicker Park location, but my second time going to a Village Eyecare location overall. The area was clean, staff was friendly, everything was timely and I had a great appointment, up until the billing. Last year at the Taylor location I wasnt charged correctly, but I assumed that was a one-off thing. However, a similar thing happened here and I ultimately was not charged the correct amount. Highly recommend being familiar with your insurance coverage yourself, and talking through the final statement prior to paying any charges to ensure youre paying the appropriate amount. (Also, would recommend doing this before you have your eyes dilated, so you can actually read the itemized bill.)

I have been going to village eye care for a couple years and they are great. The staff is always friendly and helpful and Dr. Zimmerman always makes sure all of my questions and concerns are addressed and I am happy with my contacts and glasses.

Im a new patient coming from a suburban eye doctor to the city; what a difference! The front desk staff is so friendly, the waiting area is spacious & comfortable to be in, and my appointment ran right on time. The doctor I met with was personable and she made getting my vision right easy! They matched a contact lens price Ive been receiving from a different provider and they have a great selection of frames to choose from. Ive already recommended four friends to switch over.

To begin, I found Village Eyecare (the Wicker Park location) online and realized how convenient their location was to where I lived. I immediately called to schedule my annual eye exam appointment. The woman who answered my call was very professional, patient, and accommodating. Upon walking into Village Eyecare, I was immediately greeted at the door and asked how I could be helped. Coffee and water were provided, exactly what I needed after a long work day. Right at the time my appointment was to start, a technician took me back to read my current prescription. I was brought back to the waiting area for the doctor to call me back for the rest of my appointment. I really appreciated how the doctor took the time to make sure I had the right prescription. She was very friendly, personable, and made me feel welcomed as a first time patient. When checking out, the staff was not pushy in buying certain products or eyeglasses.Overall, I enjoyed my experience because it was thorough, professional, calm, concise and welcoming. I think that Village Eyecare sets themselves apart from other eye doctors because their clinic looks very chic and clean from the outside and from the inside. They have an amazing staff that really show they care about you and your visit. Excellent place! I have recommended Village Eyecare to my roommates, friends and family and hope that everyone that visits them feels the same way!

Went here for an annual exam/contact lens fitting and had a great experience. Loved the fact that I was able to try on my new contact lens prescription there, and see what adjustments may be needed before confirming the prescription. Really friendly staff as well. Recommend!

The wicker Park Eyecare team is the best- everyone was super friendly, the store / exam rooms are very clean and up to date, and the doctor was very thorough in getting to better understand my eye needs / concerns. Would definitely reccomend.

First of all the staff is absolutely amazing. They are so welcoming and answered every question I had. They have a great selection of glasses and several different options for contact brands so that they guarantee you find the most comfortable fit. I highly recommend, especially if you are new to the city a d have been looking for an eye doctor like I was.

My daughter and I had such a great experience at the Wicker Park location! We set up new patient appointments with Dr (Ashley) Zimmerman- who was amazing!!!!! She was professional AND fun! I cant believe Im actually saying we had FUN at our eye appointment. From exam through selecting new frames the team was absolutely fantastic!

Extremely thorough eye exam and the newest contact lenses available for trial. I wasnt able to complete my dilation at my exam visit due to a schedule conflict, so they helped me schedule a better time for dilation only next month. I really appreciate that flexibility!

Staff is very professional. The tech I spoke with first was a little stiff - seemed new - and didnt give a great explanation of the extra tests available. Optician was great, though, and the lady who helped select my frames was superb.

Ive been to both the Wicker Park and South Loop locations - the doctors and teams at both are great. FYI, they carry different eyeglass frames across their locations, so if youre not finding what youre looking for, you can check out what the other locations have to offer and all offices have access to your prescription details - its very convenient!

I just moved to Chicago from Texas and I have been in desperate need of a good optometrist. I was researching different facilities around my area and Village Eyecare in Wicker Park was the one that caught my eye (no pun intended). I had such a great experience! The front desk receptionists were very accommodating and friendly. The facility was easy to find and very nice inside. Before seeing my optometrist, I was able to quickly peruse their great selection of fun and stylish selection of eyeglasses from Ray Ban, L.A. Eyeworks, Tom Ford, and other great brands. My appointment was with optometrist, Dr. Koutnik and she was absolutely wonderful. She took her time during my exam and was incredibly helpful. I was able to pick out some super cute glasses with the help of one of the staff members. I will definitely be coming back for all of my future eye care needs. I highly recommend this place!!!

Friendly but overall poor service experience. Had my annual eye exam here, which resulted in an increase in my left eye rx as well as being told I had dry eye and was prescribed drops. Picked up new glasses 5 days later and immediately noticed something was OFF. When I brought this to the opticians attention I was told “you just have to get used to it”. I called back a week later and explained that they seemed off, and was again reminded that “it can take some time to get used to new glasses” and no other help was offered. After purchasing a pair of RX sunglasses at another retailer, it was discovered that my glasses were indeed manufactured incorrectly with the wrong RX in each eye, and also it was found that the pupillary distance provided to me by Village Eyecare was very incorrect although my glasses were correct in that regard. I did return and after some discussion was told I’d have to take them to another location on Taylor St to have new lenses made. Crisis solved, right? Mistakes happen. I returned a couple weeks later for the remainder of my eye exam (eye dilation I was unable to undergo at my first visit) which was still covered by my vision insurance. At the time of my appt I was told “there will be an additional copay of $25 as we will have to Bill your Medical Insurance so the optometrist can look at your eye to see if it’s still dry”. As if while looking at my eyes to see if they were dry the first time was conducted by some other means. This surprise charge that would certainly not be covered by my medical insurance made an easy decision to cancel that appt on the spot. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Somewhere concerns and mistakes are taken seriously and notice is given on charges prior to showing up for appts.

Village Eyecare did a great job helping me with my insurance and the appointment went well. I will say that they were pretty behind schedule but my appointment was the end of the day so I expect that would happen anywhere you go!

My 5yr old son had his first appointment and Dr Zimmerman made him feel comfortable right away. She engaged him by making the eye exam into a game and was very patient with a fidgety 5 yr old.

The staff and Doctor Sarai were very friendly and made my 7 year old daughter feel quite at ease during her eye exam. Dr. Sarai is very good with children and explained everything so that both my daughter and I understood. The office even had a Keurig Machine which was a nice treat to enjoy while we waited shortly to be seen.

Cant say enough good things about the staff here! I had LASIK a few years ago to correct my -7.5 vision but was still having trouble seeing signs clearly while driving. I scheduled an appointment easily online and saw Dr. Sarai who listened to all of my issues and performed a regular eye exam. He was super friendly and professional and their equipment is really state of the art, I was really impressed. He found I needed a slight correction in each eye so after my exam, Elaine helped me pick out the perfect glasses from l.a. Eyeworks - though it was hard to choose because they have so many great frames. Highly recommend Village Eyecare to anyone in the area - they are the best!
