This is a very cool kind of hidden gem in Water Tower Place! I like how they offered a variety of things. From puzzles, to board games, to trading cards and figurines! I also liked that they offered some toys as well for those that didnt really see themselves as a gamer. Overall, this place was really cool and I would recommend this place to people that are interested in trading cards and collecting Minifigures and/or doing puzzles and board games.

Meh! Its a game store. Normally i buy dice at every game store. I did not do that here. Take that as you will.

There are much better shops. Take your time looking and find a shop that will charge less than 70$ for a 25$ box or 30$ for a 9$ tin of pokémon. Their usual up charge is anywhere between 150-250%, depending. Dice Dojo in Uptown is a much better place to spend your money.This store will break distribution rules(selling product prior to the release date) at an incredibly marked up value under the guise of “current market value” and trying to fight against scalpers. Just not worth your time or money.

Honestly, having an intimate place where gamers, otaku, and other people interested in games or sport can have events and shopping downtown is great. Keep this space ALIVE !

It was a bit odd on the inside, but they have a lot of exclusive funko pops in there that arent sold anywhere else or anymore so they do have quite a lot of good (albeit expensive) finds.

This is supposed to be a “retail” store. I call them about a Pokémon item and he lets me know they do have it in stock and he will hold it for an hour for me. I drive 45 minutes into the city of Chicago and pay for parking to get there and tell him I’m the one who called in for the ETB. He says oh ya sure. By the way it’s now $100.00 because they are a hot item.He thought since he knew how bad I wanted it that he wouldn’t tell me right away that they are charging DOUBLE the retail for the item.Are you serious dude? Tell me in the phone you are charging $100 and not $50 for a box of Pokémon cards. I thought this was a retailer that would be loyal to their customers. I will never be stepping foot in there again and will let everyone on my YouTube channel know how scummy they can be.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!Place was clean and employees were kind and knew what they were doing even saying nice things about people I was going to duel. Only problem is the place was small random people like costumers would walk in and i was in the corner were there were board games behind me just packs of people were behind me and touching my cards and leaning on my chair i was really annoyed by that because it was constant i didn’t say anything to them but it would be nice if the employee told them not to intervene with players and there stuff anyways people that were in the tournament were kind and nice one player gave me a free card to take home. I really hope you enjoy staying at Chicago’s Water Tower Place !!!!

This store piqued my interest when I stumbled across it on my way out so I decided to stop in. Their wife variety of games of all sorts ranging from trading cards to puzzles and board games had left a great impression on me. I spoke to a very friendly employee about trading cards that I had zero knowledge of and he gave me concise information and recommendations while managing to relate to me on topics I was discussing with him. Will definitely return and highly recommend this place for your competitive and casual needs.

This place is friendly an welcoming at a glance however ! Beware do not sell them your cards i was curious as to how much i could get for some yugioh cards i had which where x2 Bingo machine go, x2 leviathon chaos Dragon, 1x Black rose Dragon ghost rare! that had a crease on the back only visible when taken out of the sleeve an on the front it looks completely mint but anyway i was offered a measly 30$ for all 5 cards an just x1 bingo machine go is worth 40-50, its a shame because i liked this place an maybe its just me but, that offer felt like a straight up insult, i cant believe i drove 2 hours just to check out this game shop please do not sell them your items would give less then 1 star if able !!!

They just have pop-figures and TCGs. Its more of a novelty store than a game store.

Surprisingly, at the time I had browsed this location, it did not sell video games. As this was what I was searching for, I did not end up purchasing anything. However, though the store did not carry the wares I was interested in, the staff were very willing to help me. They have a large variety of tabletop board and card games. If you are interested in these, and not electronic games, then this place is for you.

Im from out of town, and I went to every Local Game Store to find some MTG cards for a collection.This isnt as much about the people that work here. Among issues like the space allotted for the store being so small, their collection for MTG, the most played TCG, is abysmal and unsupported. Really missing good opportunity there.Edit: Excellent response from the owner. Thankyou!

Unsanctioned store for Magic: the Gathering, which is fine. However, the employee working there when a friend and I visited (talked like he was the manager but not sure) was pretty rude when we asked questions about their availability of M:tG products and events. Was willing to spend money to support a Local Game Store, but the interaction prevented me from doing so. Wont be trying to visit this place again.

Geek store. Not an insult just all board games. I liked it.

I believe that they really cleaned up their act and that my personal experience was wonderful and will now be a regular and can really connect with certain employees. I havent met them all but I personally had a wonderful talk that went from a suppose to be 5 minute transaction to a half hour conversation that I really enjoyed! Strong recommondation to give this place a visit!

Great store

While the staff seemed very friendly, the store was disorganized and unpolished for something in Water Tower Place (now on the 7th floor, not the 5th as Google claims). Prices were not competitive and board game selection was underwhelming.

Hated how they did me. I asked for an item to be placed on hold, Sure ok we can put it on hold for a week until closing time, the day of my week way before they closed shop I go in to buy it and they sold The collectors edition of Zelda Monopoly I wanted an hour before I got there. So highly upset with the principal of how this shop is ran. ITS COOL THOUGH I GOT MY GAME FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU WERE SELLING IT SO SUCK IT!!!!!

Staff are kinda nice. I do feel like they get me to buy Pokémon cards for more than they actually cost, due to my younger age.Selection of Pokémon cards are great! But a few years ago, their selection was so much better. I do miss the Shining Pokémon cards too.I usually buy 1-3 cards whenever I go to this store, just for my collection.

Little store I stopped by at. Staff was very nice.

Friendly staff, but very little game selection (maybe 50 titles, not even that many recent releases). Seems to be more about card games like Pokeman and others that arent my thing.

By far the worst employees, rude and disrespectful. Would not recommend at all.
