This unique coffee shop sits right on the corner of Yates & Exchange. The service is super amazing and the wonderful coffee is brewed fresh every morning. I love modern and simplistic feel of place. 💫

My husband and I stopped by this morning at 8:12am only to walk into an empty dark coffee shop. We shouted “HELLO” numerous times but there were no reply. As we were walking out there was a young lady right behind us to shut the door on our way out. My husband asked are you open and she replied no then proceeded closed the door! There was an older gentleman waiting as well who stayed there until she opened the door for him. As we were making our way back to the car both the young lady and older patron signaled us to come back. By this time we had already made our judgment based off of the first impression of the shop. This was our first time coming to this coffee and will be the last. If the shop opens at 8 then employees should be there by 7:30 to set up shop. It is unacceptable for the customers to arrive before workers! I’m seeing this unprofessional behavior more and more with black owned businesses. Sad to say but true. We gotta do better.

Great local coffee shop in the South Shore neighborhood. Quick and courteous service with delicious brews. Their seasonal drinks are great too. The food is delicious as well (takes a little longer because they make it fresh). The jerk chicken wrap and the turkey bacon avocado panini are our favorites. Often we cant decide so we get both. Great vibe/energy in the place with great art work.

My favorite neighborhood gem. They turned this corner into a quaint little coffee shop with amazing coffee and delicious foods. The owners are friendly, as is the rest of the staff. If you’re not in the mood for a delicious latte, try the chai latte or one of their amazing smoothies. Each breakfast sandwich that I’ve tried has been delicious too. A rare fine & close to home!

The Strongest(BEST) Chai Tea Ive had in a while! Also got the avocado Turkey Bacon!

First visit, tried the Mango Jerk Chicken wrap and Peach Green Tea; both were delicious. Second visit, placed an order online for the Jerk Chicken wrap. In route to pick up the order, I get an order cancellation text. Called to find out why and apparently the chicken wrap is being transitioned off the menu for the season. Would have been nice to get a phone call after placing the order telling me that. Probably also a good idea to remove it from the menu so no orders can be placed for it. I was offered a different panini to replace my order, but when you have your tastes set on something... Ya know. Food is great, but the second visit left a mediocre impression as I dont live fairly close.

I’ve been here twice and both times there were lots of flies/bees (dead and alive) EW! The barista was swatting flies while making my coffee!! Very unsanitary. I tried to give them a second chance because it’s black owned but I don’t plan on returning. Don’t waste your time or money here!!

Kind, attentive staff and great overall vibe. I tried the tuneric and ginger chai latte and it was excellent. I really appreciate the staff wearing their maks correctly as they interacted with customers and prepared food. Will be back soon!

My fiancé and friend and I came in here after a run and it was everything we needed! Strong coffee, crispy warm sandwich, and delicious mango smoothie! Service was quick! Playlist was hot. Vibes all around a 10/10.

Visited 3/19/19. Had another good experience enjoying some coffee while working for a few hours. And had a nice chat the owner Corey about the cafe and what he wants this place to be in the neighborhood. Really nice coffee shop run by some great folks.Visited 3/13/19. This place has a great vibe. As good as any I’ve been to in the city. Very friendly staff, great music, floor to ceiling windows bringing lots of light in. And then you have really good coffee and food (had the tasty bacon turkey avocado sandwich). And all at really good prices. Great place to drop in or to sit and work (lots of outlets for plugging in). I’ll be back by for sure.

I just moved into the area and starting my new job today too, so coffee and brunch was a must. So grateful for this place! The Lavender Vanilla Latte and Avocado Panini was just what I needed to shake off the first day jitters and replenish me from the move. This will be my main coffee house hang from here on out!

Our go to options are the breakfast panini and the turkey bacon avo sandwich& all of the smoothies are 🔥🔥.The staff is also extremely pleasant & kind! Do yourself a favor & support this black owned coffee shop.The gentrifiers haven’t all found this gem just yet, but prepare yourselves 🙄.

Best matcha Ive ever had! So smooth and perfectly sweet. The grilled cheese with kale is out of this world. The ladies at the front are so sweet and this place is a favorite of me and my partner :)

The shop is nice and the food sounds good 👍. But the service was slow and terrible I order a green smoothie to go and I was waiting over 20 minutes 🙃 and my lunch break was over because of a late smoothie so I ask for my money back and wont be coming back.

So STOKED to have a local coffee shop here in South Shore!.The location is great whether you walk, drive or need a quick somethin before getting on the bus on Metra.Did I remember to mention that the service is first rate and my chai latte was as good as any Ive gotten at Starbucks?

I recently just discovered this little South Shore Gem. Everyone here is so sweet and hospitable. I’ve so far had their Americano, Lattes, and Mango smoothies.. delish! The prices are fair and the food Is good too. I work up the street and for now on I think I’ll frequent here opposed to other local coffee shops.

They have specialty drinks, sandwiches and deserts (my current fave drink is the raspberry cappuccino and the bacon avocado sandwich). The baristas are very friendly and welcoming. I get upsold on something new every time!

One star for selling coffee but not being open at 6 am lol

Beautiful Cafe on the South Side of Chicago with GREAT food, drinks, and Baristas. I had the Turkey Bacon Avocado Panini, hot chocolate AND a hot green Matcha tea. My friend had a specialty coffee, I cant remember the name, but he loved it. We will be back again...and Ill definitely consider ordering via UBER eats. Such a find!

What can I say about South shore brew? A cool little place. Friendly enough staff. Right down the street from my house. BUT, I’m going to give the SERVICE another chance before I speak on it. First impressions are the lasting. But, I want to support my black businesses, and I hope beyond hope that my next experience will be better. By the way to the staff at South Shore brew everyone isn’t coffee shop ordering savvy, making suggestions to the customers are very helpful.

I went to the restaurant today...at noon...I walked up to the door and it was opened.There was several flys and bees close to the panini machine...I moved twice to avoid the bugs...I assumed it was hot in the shop...Ok...I took my 2 turkey panini home...I opened up my container...a bug flew out....I lost $20 of food today....I am NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN...SORRY...I AM REALLY TICKED OFF NOW...I USED UP MY LUNCHTIME OVER THIS CRAMP!!!

Very nice place and very clean. The coffee shop has a great atmosphere and vibe. The staff is the best. They are very attentive. Everyone says hello and asks how my day is going. I like when I order tea they let me know how many minuets I need to steep my tea for the best flavors. Everyone is well trained. The coffee is brewed to perfection so you get the best flavor from the coffee beans. They have these wonderful vegan muffins that sell out fast. I’m lucky to have south shore brew across the street from my work at the south shore culture center.

Amazing lattes and muffins!

The facility is in top shape, very quaint, clean, and has a modern touch. You walk in and youre greeted with warm smiles. I visited for the first time this afternoon and immediately felt welcome. The two workers that I met are highly professional and courteous. They answered a few questions I had about the menu and how long the business has been open. You will not regret frequenting this excellent coffee shop.

This is my second time here and I was REALLY impressed with the level of customer service and quality of food. I am glad I gave it a second chance. The first time I came, the electricity went out and it seemed like everyone was a bit confused. But this time it was a seamless process and that spinach quiche is freaking delicious. I found a nice place in my neighborhood to get a cup of coffee.

An absolute Gem!!!I could give South Shore Brew 5x10 stars. I absolutely love this place and I am so happy they opened just minutes from my home. Every Saturday morning I sit and drink my green smoothie in this extremely welcoming atmosphere with the most friendly and capable staff and owners. I also grab my green smoothie daily before hopping on the train to go to the office. Can you tell I love the green smoothie? It doesn’t stop there though, the food is also very delicious. If you’re thinking about going, please don’t hesitate because it will quickly become your ‘Cheers’ (minus the alcohol of course). They make it easy to patronize this black owned establishment.

This place is so awesome. The ambiance, and customer service is on point, the veggie wraps are pack with so much flavor, smoothies are very tasty, the scones are all tasty, the macchiato is just right, and the location is perfect! Enjoyed my experience at South Shore Brew! The inside has tons of Windows which makes the atmosphere feel open also great for people watching ! Their teas are amazing smell them all...i recommend the Love tea. Small bites are served here as well which are very tasty.

The White Chocolate Mocha Latte and Tumeric Ginger Latte are great. The bacon cheddar cheese and egg sandwich is great too. The bacon is coffee and maple syrup infused.

I was pleasantly surprised with this coffee shop. As almost the only coffee spot in South Shore they hands down have a monopoly but there’s more. The staff and owner are ridiculously friendly. The coffee and espresso drinks are world class, and last but not least the small menu is well composed, and perfectly executed. The only thing missing is 3 or 4 more shops interspersed in the area. I will be back again and again.

Was invited to have a launch meeting at the South Shore Brew. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised and pleased first with the atmosphere and the menu which had vegetarian/vegan options. They actually accommodate my request to substitute the cheese with Avocado for my kale panini sandwich and it was delicious. I don’t really drink coffee on a whole but that day I chose to do so and was more than happy.The environment is fresh, trendy, clean, and wholesome. The service is solid and the atmosphere was one where social and biz meet comfortably. We were able to have a very productive business meeting over a satisfying meal.Price point is comparable to the norm for quality coffee shops.

Stopped by earlier today. Usually Im at work early but since today was a work from home day I had the opportunity to stop in for a cup. I ordered an Americano since I like strong robust coffee. I must say it was probably the best cup of coffee Ive ever had in the US. Stop by! You will not be disappointed. South Shore Brew, thank you.

Long story short, everything is good. Ive had everything on the menu at least 4 times. My top pick is the Mocha frappe and the mango jerk chicken wrap.

The staff is nice, the location is mellow inside, and the food is good. The area outside is not great and it is a wait for the food. The location needs more food options on their list. The location does have the Metra train and somes buses around the area.

Sorry Starbucks, theres a new coffee shop and its in my neighborhood. So, delicious and the service is EXCELLENT! Ill definitely return....often!

The house brew and bakery items were good. The cashier was extremely nice and professional however the sugar packets were hard as a brick and the coffee station was rocky.
